Religion / Re: Do You Believe In Luck? by blueiyke(m): 6:11pm On May 26, 2006
Quite interesting views. But I still maintain that the Almighty God,who made heaven and earth, does not work with luck,be it good-luck or bad-luck.
Religion / Re: The Christian And His Zodiac Sign by blueiyke(m): 6:07pm On May 26, 2006
I have this pal I'm really concerned about. He has a bible which he takes along with him to church on Sundays (like once in every 5 Sundays, sha). But he rarely opens the book.

He has quite a collection of books & literatures on horoscopes and stuffs like that. His life is virtually run by what he reads from these books, and yet he profess belief in God.

I've talked and talked but to no avail. The guy insists that his daily horoscope never fails him.

I know there are others like him,but I think it's like serving 2 masters at the same time.

All the best to u guys & hoping to see some of you @ the next stage.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Invitation For Shell Recruitment Test by blueiyke(m): 5:49pm On May 26, 2006
Well,I wrote the test in P.H. on Thur.25th May, & it was relatively easy.It consists of 2 parts;Verbal Test & Quantitative test.

The verbal section is made up of series of short comprehension passages followed by questions, while the quantitative part is filled with bar-charts,graphs and data of an imaginary company.U are required to answer questions based on the data provided.

U may not have enough time to actually use your calculator because the timing is short and strictly enforced.

For both sections,u have 35 questions each to be answered in 35 minutes.
Gate-crashing is not allowed. It is strictly by invitation.

Religion / The Christian And His Zodiac Sign by blueiyke(m): 4:13pm On May 23, 2006
I always wonder about Christians who believe what their zodiac signs predict for them. Some so much believe it that their lives are virtually run by star-gazers.

But the bible condemns this, including all forms palm-reading,crystal ball gazing etc.
Isaiah 47:13 makes it clear that it is not of God.

The zodiac sign of a Christian should be the Word of God.The Word of God should be the determiner of how a Christian walks daily, not some star or zodiac sign.

James 1,23-25 explains what is called the mirror principle of the Word of God.In other words,God's Word is like a mirror to the Christian. He looks into it to know who he is and how he should live. This should be his zodiac sign, not Libra,Scorpio,Leo or any of the other rubbishes.

As a Christian,do you live by the Word of God or by the musings of some astrologer?
WATCH YOUR HEART, !

@ LaShon

Christ Embassy is pastored by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (You may have heard the name before), not T.B. Joshua.
Nairaland / General / Whoever Gave Seun This Idea! by blueiyke(m): 3:47pm On May 23, 2006
Where did Seun get the idea of setting up Nairaland? Beats me why I didn't think of it before the guy *gives self 3 good head knocks*
Anyway,I think it is a very smart idea. The site is really fun.Sure beats relaxing with newspapers and the T.V.
What do y'all think?

Religion / Re: Do You Believe In Luck? by blueiyke(m): 11:49am On May 23, 2006
@ dominobaby

I used to wish people "Goodluck" too.But on getting born-again,it changed to "Success", "God's Favour" or plain old "God bless you".
Religion / Do You Believe In Luck? by blueiyke(m): 11:01am On May 23, 2006
As a born-again Christian,I don't believe God deals in lucks. The bible does not mention luck.Instead I think God deals in favours and blessings, and these are quite different from luck.

If you trace the word "luck",you will find out that it has it's origin from the realm of Lucifer. The devil has used it over the ages to deceive people into believing in goodluck and badluck instead of believing in God's blessings.

So as a Christian, what do you really believe?

THINK ABOUT IT.

Christ Embassy
Religion / Re: Christianity: A Religion Or A 'Way Of Life'? by blueiyke(m): 10:42am On May 23, 2006
Personally,I think Christianity is much more than a religion.Religion simply means the ways man look or search for God.Classifying Christianity as a religion means bunching Christianity together with others like Islam,Hinduism,Traditional Religion,Animism etc.

On the other hand, terming Christianity as a way of life is putting it mildly.Christianity simply put,is the pulsating life of God tabernacled in a human body. Now, I'm talking practical Christianity and not just "church-going". Christianity means God's hand of fellowship extended to man.In Christianity,God has found man.Man is no longer looking for Him in the dark. That is religion.

Romance / Re: Do Handsome Men Cheat More? by blueiyke(m): 3:26pm On May 03, 2006
I actually did a research on this in the university (I studied Psychology). The truth is that, because they tend to make friends more easily than their less attractive colleagues, people have this misconception about them, that they cheat on their partners.

It is just a misconception. They are other individual & social factors that predispose a person to cheat in a relationship.
