From what I see in many forums, I learnt we shouldn't take that for granted

During the recent oil boom, Alberta oilsands companies were employing Nigerian-based Nigerians with oil and gas experience straight into the industry from their Nigerian jobs, not sure if they are still doing so or not.

So I guess depending on the demand for labor at a particular time and the industry, Canadian employers may not turn up their nose at foreign credentials/experience

Hello HS and Liss, pls do you have an idea about the job outlook for a geologist migrating from 9ja to canada and planning to settle in Alberta (Calgary to be specific). I know its a regulated occupation but some job adverts I saw online didn't request for the license, this kindda got me confused. Also what is the standard of living like in Calgary - like how much can one get a decent apartment (two bedroom flat) for rent? How's their schools like for kids (fees)?

I'm almost through with my PR processing, only waiting for their final decision. I'm trying to understand what to expect there as I know relocating has never been an easy thing. Still contemplating though, if its truly worth it.

Guess you're referring to APEGGA when you talk about licensing. Visit their website for more info www.apegga.ca. Fact is depending on the job you're applying for, it may be a requirement but often if you are foreign trained with adequate acceptable experience you write the exams and can get it that way or if you are employed in as an engineer or geologist for example with no APEGGA requirement, you become an EIT (Engineer in Training) and can work towards the designation that way.

Most entry level and early midlevel positions will not make APEGGA licensing a requirement though.

Shouldn't the people that brought this nation to this point feel guilty?

Nigerians abroad are simply victims, economic and/or social refugees in a lot of cases, trying to live what is considered "normal lives" in civilized societies.

Quick question, would the pre-order terms (deposit) be same as you're offering in the Nigerian market or better?

I know US prices are cheaper. My reference to UCDA is because you've said in the past that you can ship from Canada, that made me wonder if you were a member. If you are licensed in the US or Canada, please let me know. I was partially duped  last year but for police intervention in Canada so just covering all the bases.
