Not that I disagree with you on that but some of the news coming out of Kenya don't really paint a picture of a "largely very conservative country".

The reason KDF is very secretive is because the top brass use secrecy as a cover to hide their massive amount of corruption. That's why in a country of about 43 ethnic groups the military is dominated by one, the presidents, which make up close to 50% of the personel. And unlike western/ developed countries the generals are morbidly obese with huge fat guts because they don't even have the discipline to control their own eating
