no vex o. The world over, polytechnics are different from university yet complementary. It is only in jungle Nigeria the lecturers turn it all into a fight.
I can see your pain and apologize on behalf of every HND holder out there for your stupidity.

I thought you have any achievement to point as a holder of almighty uni degree like I did. No achievement but empty pride. I said point out one thing you have done with your CS degree or mention your class of degree like I did, make verifiable claims. For your info, I also hold Bsc degree, I'm only frowning at your ignorance.

RepoMan007:
the university syllabuses looks like like that of other world renowned schools unlike our polytechnics where they leave practical and specific technical work for general theory oriented syllabuses.

Your ignorance is incurable. Let's show our work if you are man enough from your university. I hold distinction from the Fed Poly Nasarawa and the best graduating student in computer science, 2016. It's verifiable. Just ask of Debugger in the school. have built several portals for Nigerian govt. Among others with AI driven. You will go get some nonsense degree, jobless and come here to make noise. I hold Bs too and I have seen both sides. You keep generalising like a fool when knowledge depends on individual effort

You ended up supporting my submission about polytechnics trying to be like universities. Polytechnics, the world over has a separate focus different from universities. Your HND and BSc weren't suppose to be identical but because Nigeria is a jungle, the leccturers in polytechnics have hijacked them and turned the syllabuses upside down.
Thank you for reinforcing my point.

How do you know which institution category hijacked the syllabus? Are u the designer of the said syllabus? If you know exactly what we are talking about you will know it's a shame for any CS lect to draw a flowchart like a bag of groundnut. I'm sure you are holding a conversation in a field you know nothing about. You are one of those bent at reducing poly graduates to near nothing.

The polytechnics and technical colleges have derailed so much they think they are competing with BSc.
While I consider it better to give graduates a sense of direction into newer, hotter, narrow fields of CS they can realistically practice, more can still be done.

Computer and elect-elect engineering is another bastardized program in the HND space. PC technicians are even equating their ability to troubleshoot PCs to full fledged computer engineering and will gladly shame CE or EE graduates with their ability to use gmail or identify a bad RAM or install an OS.

You don't know what you are saying. Generalising things equates ignorance. I hold HND in CS from a federal Polytechnic before I went for Bsc. I learnt nothing new in the so called Bsc. Most of my lecturers in poly were much better than the uni PhD lect who couldn't construct ordinary flowchart. I have beaten uni graduates in many ways, many times holding HND. I have been building useful softwares since my ND, with many of my colleagues doing same.

practice daily, learn daily, never run from complex tasks. Develop problem solving skills. Be focused. No girlfriend for now, no sleep 4 nite. Build network and relationship. I have lived and practice in this industry for 14 years, no regret. I hold a degree in CS, do if you can. If you can't, you can still do very well.

Business / Re: Which Digital Skill Should I Learn In 2022 To Get Financial Freedom? by Bugcompiler(m): 8:11pm On Dec 15, 2021
Learn programming!
My 15years down the road here has no single regret. I studied computer science though, it all boils down to personal development. Ensure you understand the basic of algorithms, this is where the real programmers are made.

I also dropped out of the university twice but I went back, programming paid my school bills.
I lost my both parents at age 16 and as d first son, life was hard and God brought programming my way.

How Hacking Works & How To Retrieve Hacked Account

Of many requests I have gotten as a web designer, a large chunk of them usually come from scammers. What do they want? They want me to help them hack through Facebook profiles. Knowing how this works will help you secure your accounts even further.

For the records, I have never, will not and do not develop phishing websites. This is for education purpose.

Phishing is a method of taking people's personal data illegally such as passwords, bank card numbers, and other information. Knowing the mechanism involved will help you identify one when you see it.

The simple way hackers get access to your password is by using HTML & PHP. They use the source code of the Facebook login page to develop what looks like a Facebook login page. Within the HTML, they link a PHP code that picks up your username and password if you ever type them on the login page.

Your username and password are saved on a TXT file and this way they can just open the text file, see your username and password. This is a simple thing to do with a little working knowledge of HTML & PHP.

Now, they get you to log in by sharing the link to you. For example, you may see stuff like "LEAK: See how Davido & Tonto Dikeh spent the night after Night of Thousand laughs" and because you are too carried away by irrelevant gossips, you'd click on the link to see!

On opening, you may see exactly what looks like a Facebook login page that says "you must log in first" and because this looks exactly like Facebook login screen without minding the link in the URL bar, you may put in your login details and this submits your private information to the hacker.

This is the mechanism: the HTML code gives you the login page, the PHP code collects your password and drop it on the TXT file. It's not rocket science and these hackers aren't more intelligent or smarter than you.

Your card details can also be taken this way. You may see stuff like "click here to win airtime" or "click here get instant #5,000". Every single detail you give these people can be used.

In case you activated 2nd authentication or they are about changing your code, you may get a call like "hello Sir, you've been selected as a winner of Facebook iPhone promo. A code has been sent to you and it is your winning code, please call the code so I proceed with sending your winnings." There are so many formats but they will eventually request a code.

How to ensure your account is safe:

Update your phone number and emails on Facebook and other social media handler.

Stop using emails and phone numbers you no longer have access to. When something goes wrong with your account, you may lose it forever.

More security measures:

1. Update your Social Media Details

2. Verify your phone number and email

3. Change your passwords and log out of all previous devices.

4. Activate TWO-AUTHENTICATION

5. Set up a legacy account (add the account of someone you trust who will always help you retrieve your account)

6. Don't log into your social media accounts using public devices or even a friend's device.

7. If you must use a friend's device or a public device, always use the incognito tab on browsers and ensure you close the tab before leaving.

8. When you click on links and it prompts you to put in your Facebook password or requires access to your Facebook account, close it immediately! Altogether, click only on links you trust.

9. When you receive any call requesting for any code sent to you, never respond to them. You are free to shout "thief!" into their ears and hang up the call.

10. Don't procrastinate... Review and update your details now!

HOW TO RETRIEVE A HACKED FACEBOOK ACCOUNT
1. You may need to visit facebook(dot)com/hacked and follow the prompts

2. If your phone numbers and emails have been changed by the hacker, you'll need to go back to the last message that was sent to your email by Facebook concerning a login. Click on the link that says "click here if it wasn't you". If you no longer have access to that email, that may mean losing your account forever if you also don't have a legacy account.

I hope someone found this useful?
