Are you South-African?
Family / Re: Two Wives? One abroad one in naija....please help? by bystander: 7:49pm On Jul 29, 2008
No, I live in Europe but I hear similar stories especially when they are married to Europeans. I just think that it is really hard to ever find out for a white person because his friends will cover up by all means, but a black woman - be it from another african country - is more likely to learn about is going on. That is why I was asking.
But still beware of sources that might prove unreliable, especially if they are men they might take advantage of the situation.

If he really hides his marriage in Nigeria, go ahead setting his pants on fire, girl!
Politics / Re: Mend Blows 2 Oil Pipelines : Breaking News! by bystander: 7:33pm On Jul 29, 2008
First of all, I never stated that Dokubo-Asari was the leader of MEND. But is he not associated with MEND? When MEND even demands his release along with this former dubios governor of Bayelsa state (so far for not being involved with thuggish politicans). You even say you respect him, whereas I have nothing for him.

I am not against Islam at all by the way.

Thank you for the (1) to (8 ) lecture, but I am still waiting for you to answer my question with regards to what MEND-madness has done with the millions from kidnappings and oil smuggling to improve the living conditions of the ordinary Niger Deltarians.

The time is coming when the federal government will run out of patience, you and I know who will pay the price for that: the ordinary unarmed millions of Niger Deltarians. Look at what is happening Sudan, look back at what happened in Sierra Leone, in Liberia, Angola and Congo. Or did you forgot about our history: who suffered most in the Biafran war? Not the likes of Ojukwu et al but the masses of ordinary Igbos and other Nigerians were slaughtered and starved. By the way, you made reference to Ojukwu before: you are wrong, he ran for election in both 2003 and 2007. However, as expected, with little success. So, let the madness-MEND bring out their candidates in the Niger Delta and let's see how their turnout will be. Even with their guns I doubt they would make any major success.

Stop being naive. War is always ugly, the innocents are always caught in the crossfire. You seem to oversee that with your idealistic mindset.

I am not going to bring myself down to your level by insulting who disagrees with me.
I know what a few hooligans with guns like MEND can do to who disagrees with them when they have authority over a village, talkless a region like the Niger Delta.

The army are made of all ethnics in Nigeria, it might be dominated by one or two tribes dough. I have a brother who died in the Biafra war. Part of my family lived as member of minorities under the Igbo-Biafra occupation. They know what they went trough under those hooligans with guns. Don't be so one-sided and argue reasonable without insult.

Let me just bring your attention to other parts of the world, the minorities with the weapons control the destiny of the armless majority. Don't be cynical, disagree with MEND, it will be a straight bullet to your head. If MEND is so beloved as you said, they would larger in numbers. Look at the time of Saro-Wiwa, he controlled 1000's if not 1000000 when he spoke. Not an illiterate like Mujahadin Dokubi-Asari - by the way, as an insider, can you tell me if there was a deal between him and Al-Quaida as he converted to Islam? grin

A quick question, tell me which state in the Niger Delta is dominated by a "foreign" governor? All of them are sons of the soil. Why can't they do something with the allocation they get? The Niger Delta states receive more funds than other states get. If the madness-MEND are so popular, why didn't they drop their guns and run for election?

Ibime

Are you out of your senses? Do you think a group 100-500 people can hold a whole nation ransome, because of their own greed? They are not fighting for me!

Ibime, can I ask you how many schools, roads and hospitals these outlawds built with the money the get from their kidnappings of oil workers? Are you one of those corrupt military people who supplies the madness with arms?
When you see madness-MEND in the TV with their guns and their palmtree ropes they look like bottles of gulda, while the poor niger delta population they claim to fight for look like mosquitos.

Each pipeline the blow up, each company the drive out of Nigeria is affecting the whole Nigerian population. To hell with Hausa, to hell with Igbos and to hell with the yorubas, we all are Nigerians.

If we can send batallions of peacekeepers to Sudan, if we can lead ECOMOG forces to stop wars in Sierra Leone and Liberia, I am asking myself what the military is waiting for. Did they run out of arms? Instead of paying the millions to this bunch of criminals, they'd rather equip themselves to crush on them before they grow wings more than themselves.

Ibime, stop being stupid, you are not speaking for all niger delta people, because I am one of them. Moreover I am a Nigerian. Anybody that disagrees with you, all what he gets is insult? I am suspecting you are one of those loosers,

Family / Re: Can Yoy Marry From A Polygamous Family? by bystander: 1:50pm On Jul 29, 2008
From my great-grand-father to my father were all polygamous. But the extended families all have a relationship that bounds them togheter as one family.

I am from a polygamous, I have half-brothers and half-sisters, people would not believe we are not from the same mother. Because we do everything as families. Why do other families that are not polygamous fight themselves to pieces? Especially when it comes to sharing their father herits? When our old man passed away his properties were easily broken down by his own polygamous brothers to his children from his polygamous family. It didn't cause fight, even when some get things that were smaller than the others. Just because he taught us that even a friend outside can become a family member. My father even took in foster children that nowadays are very succesful and still proud to be brought up by the late old man.

However, I am not in favour of polygamous set ups nowadays. But then you have to understand that it once a pride of a man to show how rich and powerful it is. But this is now obsolete. Stop this stupid thing that you cannot marry from a polygamous home, if you love somebody just marry her. You might have a problem with a person from an unpolygamous home equally. So those of you that said no, think twice, because love is blind. Make una no vex o.
Romance / Re: Can You Help/assist Your Girlfriend/wife In Doin House Work? by bystander: 1:35pm On Jul 29, 2008
no specific one, we are not living in 10 000 BC. simply means that my father's generation is not mine.

sometimes I have strong head by telling my wife "I am the man in the house, you have to do that and this". But sometimes I come home from working and she is still at work, what do I do? Expect her to clean the few plates that are up there when she comes back? Or pick the kid from the daycare? Somehow this question is stupid. I hope you are not polygamous. It's only polygamous men that talk like this. They use a phrase like this (edo translated to english): somebody that owns his dog never packs his shit away from the ground because the dog will easily eat it up.

Wake up if you are sleeping we are living in a 21st century my brother. No vex o, na how I see am.
