Religion / CAC Sunday School Pamphlet To Become One Year Volume From January 2024 by CACNews: 12:57pm On Aug 29, 2023
By 'Gbenga Bankole

The Authorities of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas have announced plans to make the Sunday School Pamphlet of the church a one-year volume, from January, 2024.

The pamphlet which has been published twice yearly since its inception in 1976, will now be a single volume per year starting from January, 2024.
It will be on sale, all things being equal, from November this year.

According to the chairman of CAC Publication Committee, Pastor S.E.A. Oludare the authority wants to do this in order to reduce the stress of procuring copies of the pamphlet.

Pastor Oludare noted that the stress of procuring the pamphlet will now be once, early in the year. Though the price will be slightly increased, the amount, he said, will be communicated subsequently.

The Cleric further disclosed that all licences of the church and Order of Service Manual (both English, Yoruba and other languages) will now wear a new look.

Religion / CAC Is Signpost Of Pentecostal Christianity In Nigeria- Prof. Osinbajo by CACNews: 4:19pm On May 12, 2022
By Pastor Ade Alawode

Christ Apostolic Church is in the forefront of pentecostal movement in Nigeria, so said the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. Osinbajo added that only those who want to rewrite history would deny this fact.

The Vice President was speaking while receiving the President of Christ Apostolic Church, Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele at his residence in Aso Villa last Saturday.

According to the Vice President, who himself is a Pastor in Redeemed Christian Church of God, CAC signposts pentecostalism in Nigeria and anybody who bothers to study Nigerian Church history, would know that CAC is pioneer in pentecostal Christianity and "I urge the present leadership of the church to do everything to preserve the legacy of the Apostolic foundation of the Church founders."

The Vice President said he was delighted to receive the President of the Church, Pastor Samuel O. Oladele together with his entourage even despite his tight official schedules, because of the high esteem he has for the Church.

He said he was fascinated by the story of how Pastor Oladele was called into the ministry at the age of 14, which makes it 53 years since he answered the call into ministry.

He said his emergence as President of the Church was divine. He therefore prayed that the Lord would help Pastor Oladele to fulfill His purpose for the Church.

Prof. Osinbajo urged the church to continue to pray for the country to overcome it's present challenges.

Earlier, the President of CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele had told the Vice President he had been looking forward to see the Vice President to show his appreciation to him for his respect and love for  CAC and it's leadership.

The cleric recalled that the President had visited the Church headquarters in Ibadan in 2018. A few months later, the Vice President also attended the Centenary anniversary celebration of the Church at Ikeji Arakeji and during his (Pastor Oladele's) inauguration as President of the Church, Prof. Osinbajo sent the Chaplain of Aso Villa Chapel, Pastor Malomo to represent him.

Pastor Oladele said he decided to pay courtesy visit to the Vice President to express his appreciation to him for his love.

The Clergyman stated that in line with the vision and mission of CAC which are soul winning and spiritual awakening of the world which the Church hopes to achieve through spiritual worship and prevailing prayers, the Church would not relent in her efforts to pray for the country, it's leadership and it's economic revival.

The Cleric appreciated the Vice President for his efforts and for his integrity as an ambassador of Christ
He prayed for him to have sound health and success in his endeavours.

Religion / Happy Birthday To A Philanthropist, CAC Director Of Missions, Pastor Fasuyi by CACNews: 12:42am On May 05, 2022
"A person who has sympathy for mankind in the lump, faith in its future progress, and desire to serve the great cause of this progress, should be called not a humanist, but a humanitarian, and his creed may be designated as humanitarianism," says Irving Babbitt.

There are so many billionaires in the world, but few of them have used their resources for the work of God. Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas today has been blessed with children of God who are using their God given wealth to bless the mission.

Undoubtedly, you can't mention humanitarians or philanthropists in Christ Apostolic Church without mentioning Pastor Caxton Segun Fasuyi who happens to be the Director of Missions of the church.

Pastor Fasuyi was born at Owena on 5th May, 1962 but his parents are of Ido-Fabore, Ekiti origin. He attended Saviour's Primary School, Owena and Ebun Ogunyinka Comprehensive High School. For his higher School Certificate, he attended Federal School of Science, Ondo, Ondo State. He proceeded to the University of Jos where he earned Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Religious Studies.

He did his National Youth Service at Ilorin. He has since been a businessman but with zeal for the spread of the gospel. He was ordained a Pastor in Christ Apostolic Church on 19th February, 1998. It is to his credit that he has planted the Christ Apostolic Church assemblies in high profile areas of Lagos and in South Africa. He is the Vice-Chairman, Governing Council, Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU).

He is a frontline businessman, passionate philanthropist and benefactor of JABU. Few years ago he bagged an honorary degree of Doctor of Entrepreneurship.

Pastor Fasuyi has used his wealth to bless uncountable people across the globe. Pastor Fasuyi and his pretty wife recently distributed food stuffs as relief support for Pleasure Community in Lagos.

Few years ago, fifteen youths of Christ Apostolic Church received a three-month entrepreneurship training at JABU.They were sponsored by Pastor Fasuyi and his wife, Mrs. J.T. Fasuyi. Pastor Fasuyi said their non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Destiny Focus Care Initiative (DFCI) besides assisting youths, also helps widows, widowers, and orphans to get empowerment.

Having considered his commitment to the kingdom business and contribution to the growth of the church, two years ago, the highest decision making body of the church, General Executive Council upgraded his position (the position of Director of Missions) to the Principal Officers of CAC Nigeria and Overseas.

Religion / Christians Must Not See Bandits, Terrorists As Enemies, Says CAC President by CACNews: 12:07pm On Apr 13, 2022
Paul's admonition to the Roman church in Romans chapter 8 verse 28, was Pastor Samuel O. Oladele's words of encouragement to Christ Apostolic Church, Orekoya Region during his visit to one of the church properties in Agingi, Jos, on Saturday, 9 April, 2022.

The president in his response to the points highlighted as the challenges faced by the church in Agingi, said that challenges work together for the good of the church.

According to him, if God's word is taken to be true, Christians will not see anyone as their enemies.

"If we take it to be true, we do not see anyone as our enemies. Those islamists, bandits, terrorists, that burn down our places of worship, are not our enemies. If God had not allowed it, it would not have happened." He said.

The President therefore, admonished the church to imbibe the mentality of God.

"If we are Christians, we are to imbibe the very mentality of God. So that at least, when anything happens to us we don't look at anyone as our enemies. For we know that all things work together for those that love God." He said.

"I just want us to be kindhearted, not seeing anyone as our enemy. We know it is not palatable. It is a bad experience, but thank God. Jesus said, I will build my church and His promises are very much being fulfilled in our own days and the gate of hell shall not prevail against it." He added.

He stated further that the only way to fight the church is not to fight the church.

"If you want to fight the church successfully, do not fight it. But when you leave the church you don't fight them, then that church will die. When you fight the church, you will see how like the proverbial animal that when you kill it, it rises again". He explained.

In his words of encouragement,  Pastor Oladele emphasised the need for the church to keep rejoicing that they know the Lord adding that no matter the challenges, God's promises remain.

"Let us be glad and rejoice in the fact that we know Him. The Bible says that those who know their God shall be strong and do exploits. Challenges of life come and go, but the promise of God remains." He said.

He then assured the church that the complains and challenges presented will be taken back to the General Secretariat in Ibadan.

Religion / You Can't Write Pentecostal Christianity History In Nigeria Without Reference To by CACNews: 12:01pm On Apr 13, 2022
By 'Gbenga Bankole

The President of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele has said there is no way anyone can write the history of Pentecostal Christianity in Nigeria without making reference to Christ Apostolic Church.

He further emphasized that if you have to do a great work on the history of pentecostal religion in this country, there is no way you cannot but devote a large chunk of that work to Christ Apostolic Church, being a foremost pentecostal church in Nigeria.

Pastor Oladele stated this in an interview with press men on Wednesday April 6, 2021 after arriving Jos, Plateau State for "Presidential Tour of CAC Orekoya Region.

The President arrived Yakubu Gowon Airport, Jos few minutes to 2.00pm and was received by the  General Superintendent, Pastor Emmanuel O. Odejobi, General Secretary, Pastor Emmanuel E. Mapur, Regional Superintendent of CAC Orekoya Region, Pastor C.S.A. Balogun, Director of Youth Affairs, Pastor Samson O. Gbuyiro and many others. The President had in his entourage his Special Assistant, Pastor T. D. Asokeji and Office Assistant, Bro. Olakunle Michael.

Pastor Oladele further told the press men that it is true that CAC began among the Yorubas but it is not a Yoruba church, saying that we have the church spread all over the country, in Europe and the Americas.

On creation of new regions which includes Orekoya Region, the Cleric said: "we like to bring the administration of the church closer to our people where they are and so we have had to create what has come to be known as regions. Some years ago, when it all began, we had about nine of them in Nigeria; some states were brought together to form a region and after experimenting with that for four years, we saw the need to have more regions. So, Plateau state, Benue State, Nassarawa and Bauchi states, all used to be under Medaiyese Region, with headquarters in Abuja, but we considered it proper and fitting to create another region out of that and the new region created is now known as Orekoya Region, named after one of our patriachs and the headquarters is here in Jos.  So, when we create a region like that, we do inaugurate it formally and then we induct the officer in charge who is the Regional Superintendent. Not only that, we want to see how our people are faring in this part of the country; that is why we will be visiting some other places in this state."

When asked what should people of Plateau State expect from the visit, aside from the inauguration and induction, Pastor Oladele said: "when the Lord Jesus Christ was talking to His disciples, He said wherever you go, declare peace. Our feet are good, that is one thing. The Bible says "how lovely on the mountain are the feet of those that bring goodnews". We bring Goodnews, we carry Goodnews, we carry God's anointing. Everything we brought to Plateau state.   So, let the state and the church and even those who are not Christians expect peace, let them expect joy, revival, salvation of souls, healing. We declare peace everywhere we go because we are servants of the Most High - the Prince of Peace Himself. So, let the state be expectant and the children of God as well."

He appreciated and commended Ministers and members of CAC in the state for staying put to the CAC because there are other churches they can go.

While saying the church authorities understand what the people are passing through, the Cleric urged them to keep on progressing, praying for them that God will not leave them alone.

He recalled that he had been fascinated by what he saw in Jos as a young Christian monister: "When I graduated from CAC Bible College in 1974, I was posted to Ibadan. I was implored by someone that we should go on evangelism journey. We were in Kaduna, Nassarawa, Zaria and Jos. We stayed with Baba Suberu in Jos. While I was here I received a message which made me to leave Jos and go to our Bible College as a lecturer," he stated.

Part of activities lined up for the presidential tour is courtesy call on the Governor, Hon. Barr. Bako Lalong, meeting with all the Church ministers in the Region, visit to Bokkos land and some Church properties (CAC College Kuba, CACTS, Akiluwa Secondary School, Conference Centre etc.), meeting with Professionals/Visit to vital places in Jos/Bukuru Metropolis, inauguration of Orekoya Region and induction of the Regional Superintendent etc.

...Now on sale

The President of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor S. O. Oladele, on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 dedicated the Unified Bible Study Manual of the church.

The Manual which is for one year (from April 2022 to March 2023) costs only N500 and it is now on sale at CAC General Secretariat, Basorun, Ibadan and at Regional Headquarters across the country.

That is, in-depth study of the Word of God, prevailing prayer and spiritual worship. Religion / CAC Pastor Recount How He Escaped From Abductors After Seeing Babalola In Vision by CACNews: 11:09am On Mar 16, 2022
Oke Ako, a community in the Ajoni Local Council Development Area of Ekiti State, erupted in joy on Tuesday as a cleric, Pastor Michael Adeyeye of Christ Apostolic Church in the community escaped unhurt from the four gunmen who abducted him on Saturday.

Residents of the community could not believe their ears when news filtered in on Tuesday morning that the cleric had escaped and was at Eruku in Kwara State awaiting vehicle to convey him back to Oke Ako.

It was carnival like as the cleric arrived the community in the afternoon to the waiting arms of youths and the elderly who sang and danced round the town.

Pastor Adeyeye, while recalling his experience, said he, alongside the four gunmen who initially demanded N50million ransom before reducing it to N15million, walked in the forest throughout Saturday night and Sunday.

He said, “We were in church for a vigil on Saturday. At about 10.20pm, four armed men arrived the church, saying ‘where is pastor?’ On locating me, they tied my hands and ordered me to follow them. We went into the bush.

“The following day, Sunday, they asked me to call my family to get N50million ransom across to them for me to regain my freedom. We were using my phone which they had already seized for the calls. Later, they reduced the ransom to N15million.

“Unfortunately for the gunmen, on Monday morning, at about 5am, the God of covenant demonstrated his awesomeness. I saw the first General Evangelist of CAC, Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola, in a vision. That was what woke me up to discover that my abductors were fast asleep.

“So, I rose and stealthily moved away from the location into the bush. I kept walking in the bush until Tuesday morning when I got to Eruku, a town in Kwara State. On getting to the town, I called one of my brothers whose phone number I know offhand.”

Pastor Adeyeye, who said that his abductors were Fulani Bororos going by their language and physical appearance, added, “Their guns looked like AK-47, the guns appeared fabricated. I am happy for my escape. I am happy to be reunited with my people and church members. I can see love from the community.”

The cleric, who lauded security agencies for their efforts since he was abducted on Saturday, said, “The report I had on my return is that operatives of the police, Amotekun, Nigerian Army, vigilante and local hunters did their best on the matter. Our people said the security agencies went into the bush on rescue mission to ensure my release and apprehension of the criminals.”

The PUNCH reports that Oke Ako residents have been complaining that the community is under the siege of herdsmen who they complained were committing all sorts of atrocities including attacks in the farms, kidnappings and making lives unbearable for them.

"I saw Apostle Babalola in a vision, on waking up I discovered my abductors have slept-off," abducted CAC Pastor recounts experience

Religion / The True Story Behind The Death Of Apostle Ayo Babalola by CACNews: 7:29pm On Mar 13, 2022
It came to pass in the month of July, 1959 that Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola, the first General Evangelist of Christ Apostolic Church traveled with his associates to Ede for an important assignment. He was there to witness the dedication of the maternity and faith home built by the Good women of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC).

The month of July, 1959 marked the thirtieth year that Babalola commenced his glorious apostolic ministry. That is if we base our calculations on his calling in October, 1928 and the 6-8 months he spent preparing himself in prayers and fasting.

During these thirty years he had never taken so much as a week of leave or vacation or retirement. It had been a whole life of service, productive service and engagement.

Thus the man who came to Ede was a tired man, a man who needed rest. By his nature, unless God took him he would never be able to rest in this world.

He would never refuse anyone who called on him for help or prayer. He would not drive people away from him even when he had not been allowed to rest. Even when he was eating, people would be asking him questions and he would be answering them. Even when he was in the bathroom taking his bath, people would kneel outside and be asking him for prayers and counsels and he would oblige them. He never turned anybody away.

Most times when he returns home from a long missionary journey; his home would have been besieged by people in need of prayers, counseling and healing; and he would attend to all of them.

He himself confessed that he had never slept fully for once for 12 days until he came to Ede.

Early in the morning of Sunday 26th July, the apostle got up as early as 5:00am and requested for hot water. A coffee was prepared for him but he insisted it must not have sugar or milk. That was how he drank it raw.

After his preparation for the service he called for his deputy, the Assistant General Evangelist, Prophet David Babajide and his host, Prophet S.O Akande. He asked the two of them to kneel and began to talk to them rehearsing his experiences in ministry from the beginning when he received the call to the present day and all the hassles he had met in ministry. He reminded the duo that within the limit of human possibility he had done his best.

He then asked each of them to pray for him that if there had been any sin he(Babalola) had committed in the course of his ministry from the beginning to that very day that God should forgive him. Thereafter he himself prayed the last prayer and made the benediction.

After the benediction, Babalola told the duo "Now I thank God the way is clear." But they didn't understand. He encouraged them to be faithful and thereafter he dismissed them.

They went for the morning service and he made the opening prayer. Pastor J.A. Medaiyese gave the sermon at the service. Throughout the service, Babalola never stood up for once not even when the congregation rose to sing hymns. He remained on his seat, until at the end when he gave the benediction.

After the service, the congregation moved straight to the maternity home for the dedication but Babalola went straight to his chambers to rest.

After the dedication, delegates began to depart for their various destinations. Some of the delegates also came to Babalola to ask for his blessings and prayers as they were about departing and he willingly obliged them.

Babalola called Pastor JSB Odusona who was also departing and reminded him of a young man he(Babalola) had met at Ibadan few days before who he promised to help with his wedding. This man had reached the age of marriage but had no father or any helper to see him through. Babalola then took it upon himself to give him the support he needed and reminded the General superintendent of the church to expedite action on the matter. This was his last act of mercy before he left for eternity.

He was left to rest. At 3:00pm his associates came for prayers with him. Medaiyese was the first to pray followed by Odutola. Then just before Babajide could pick up the prayer, Babalola himself took it and began to pray what I would call the very last prayer he made on the earth. And what did he pray about? According to Babajide, he prayed for all the people of the earth that their salvation may be sure and not once did he make mention of his immediate family. He was allowed to rest while Medaiyese went for the evening service. One Michael Isajimi, one of the assistants with Babalola stood at the entrance of the door of the room.

Around 4:00pm, the walls of the room where Babalola was began to vibrate as if there was a tremor, but the cause of the movement could not be located or traced. At 4:30pm on the dot, Babalola breathed heavily three times : Hiii, Hiii, Hiii as if to say God the Father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit, and like lightning the man was gone. He was no more. It was exactly forty days to the time he told his mother, Martha Talabi Rotimi that he would be going to call Jesus.

The entire room shook and yet the window panes did not break. Michael who was guarding the door cried with a loud voice to summon the elderly men to come. As they opened the door to the room, a wave of power hit them and they all fell to the ground. By the time they rose up and moved near, they found he was lifeless.

They began to pray while Babajide sent for Medaiyese who was preaching at the evening service to stop his sermon, close the service immediately and come down to the house.

They all surrounded Babalola, each one holding a part of his body and they prayed earnestly from 5pm till 7pm for Babalola to come back to life but there was no answer.

Medaiyese began to tearfully plead in prayer "Lord, what is our sin? What have we done wrong? Where have we missed it?"

It was then that a vision was shown to one of them where he saw Babalola before the mighty gates of heaven and entering through the gate, he laid his sword at the feet of the Lord Jesus. The Lord then told the seer that Babalola could not return to them again as they desired because the heavens have already received him.

At 7pm, Medaiyese declared plaintively, " The Great Apostle is gone."

Babalola was 55, still fit and agile and without a single grey hair on his head.

Thus marks the end of an era in Nigeria's religious and evangelical history.

Arrangements were made and the body was taken to Efon that night. Even in death, his eyes were not closed and there was a smile on his face.

Eight days later, he was committed to mother earth amidst a flood of tears, wailings and lamentations.

All the schools in Ijesha and Ekiti axis were shut for a few days as a mark of respect to the great apostle. Thus marks the end of an era.

This research has been done painstakingly to clear the air on the accusations that his death was as a result of witchcraft perpetrated by the wife against him while it is the fact that it was due to exhaustion.

Religion / Beware Of Individualism, Pastor Odejobi tells new Superintendents by CACNews: 6:53pm On Mar 13, 2022
By 'Gbenga Bankole

The General Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Emmanuel O. Odejobi has told the newly commissioned DCC, Zonal and District Superintendents to beware of individualism and self-centeredness, urging them to mind their conducts and be faithful.

Pastor Odejobi, who represented the President of CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samuel O. Oladele stated this while ministering on the topic "Superintendency" at the commissioning of new DCC, Zonal and District Superintendents in Ikeji-Arakeji on Wednesday February 16, 2022. Three DCC Superintendents, 39 Zonal Superintendents and 259 District Superintendents were commissioned after going through three days intentive training organised by the church authority.

He also urged the newly commissioned Superintendents to beware of taking administrative matters with levity.

Defining the word "Superintendency", the General Superintendent said it is the state of being a Superintendent; while a Superintendent is someone to oversee the works, walks and welfare of others.

Pastor Odejobi also implored them to be watchful of the way they walk, adding that they must walk according to the instructions of God and the church authority.

"You're now indepted not only to the headquarters you are, but to all assemblies or districts under you. You must have the fear of God and the fear of the church authority. You must work in the beauty of Christ holiness. Previously you might have been working according to your will, but from now you must be working according to God's will and the church authority," he stated.

According to him, the newly commissioned Superintendents are to administer the church of God towards growth.

He added that; "you must ensure our glorious church grow the more. We thank God for CAC, but we haven't grown to the level God expects from us. You must oversee yourself, your home and the church. There are ministers who can't oversee themselves and their homes. You must ensure your growth and the growth of your District, Zone or DCC."

He said the Superintendents are expected to bring spiritual, administrative, numerical and financial growth to the church.

The Cleric added that, "how can you make the church of God to grow when you refuse growing? There are lifeless District, Zonal and DCC Superintendents. Interact with other denominations. Don't belittle what you want to gain from them."
