However, it was reported that the unidentified kidnappers has demanded a sum of N20 million as a ransom to release Major Jide Ijadare.

Also, On Tuesday, September 15 that kidnappers invaded Ijadare’s palm-oil producing factory located along Ijan-Ise road in Ijan Ekiti, Gbonyin Local Government area of Ekiti State, killed one of his staff, whisked him and one other staff away to an unknown location.

Gunmen attack kastina community, A 50-year-old man identified as Ashiru Aliyu was killed by gunmen early Monday morning at Daulai village, Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State. Many women were also reportedly abducted by the gunmen who also rustled some domestic animals and looted foodstuff during the attack.

Residents said the gunmen arrived in the village about 1 a.m and started shooting. They were said to have killed the victim in the process.

Five killed eight injured, In an autocrash involving a commercial bus and a truck have lead to the death of five persons, while eight others were injured in Emure, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, officials confirmed.
Spokesperson of the [FRSC] Ondo State, Tola Ogunbanwo who made this known in a statement, said the incident occurred on Tuesday morning due to over-speeding.

She also noted that the five bodies have been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owo, mortuary.

“According to the information at our disposal, the accident was caused by over speeding and wrongful overtaking”, she stated.

She added that the injured persons were receiving medical attention.

Meanwhile, she added that the corps would continue to ensure that road users obey traffic rules and regulations.
