Vice-President Namadi Sambo on Monday presented the handover notes of President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration to the transition committee of the incoming government, with a promise that members of the outgoing cabinet will make themselves available for clarifications when needed.

Ahmed Joda’s, chairman of the transition committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), received the report on behalf of the incoming administration of Muhammadu Buhari.

Sambo said the documents he was handing over contained “properly articulated and printed” activities of the federal government between 2011 and 2015.

He explained that the permanent secretaries of each ministry signed each page to authenticate it, and expressed hope that it would guide the incoming administration in its plans for the development and progress of the country.

“I want to add that all of us are always available, after this report between now and May 29, anytime you need to meet with us, we are ready to come and sit and clarify,” he said.

“All the ministries, departments and agencies will also be ready to meet with you, give you any additional or clarifications that you would want to have on this report that we are presenting.”

Responding, Joda said his committee would analyse the “comprehensive” handover notes before submitting it to Buhari.

“It is my honour and my privilege to receive this comprehensive set of the report from the government’s transition committee, which was chaired by the vice-president Alhaji Namadi Sambo,” he said.

“It appears that nothing has been left out. It is now our challenge to give careful study and examination of what is contained in these volumes.”

Petroleum products marketers and the Federal Government on Monday have set aside their face-off resolved with government, resolving to immediately mobilise to ensure restoration of normal supply of fuel throughout the country.

At the end of a meeting convened by the Senate Committee on Petroleum (Upstream and downstream) to resolve the crisis,
Chairman, Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN), Obafemi Olawore, said its members, consisting Oando, Conoil, Forte Oil, MRS, Total and Mobil Oil agreed to commence lifting and distribution of fuel immediately from the stock supplied by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Capital Oil and Gas Ltd had on Sunday commenced the loading of 13 million litres of petrol from its depot in Apapa for distribution to the various states to reduce the current scarcity.

The Chairman of the company, Ifeayin Ubah, told journalists in Lagos that more than 2,000 trucks would be loaded before May 29 to boost the country’s economic activities.

He said the company’s facilities had the capacity to load 13 million litres of the product within the period.

“This comes to approximately 500 trucks of petroleum products on daily basis. With this, it is our belief that once again our citizens will begin to smile and return to normal family and work life.

“We call on other petroleum marketers to follow suit and save our nation from this impending economic and social crisis,’’ he said.

As part of measures to tackle terrorism and
other criminal activities in the country, the
Federal Road Safety Corps has initiated the
process of opening its drivers’ database to
banks and security agencies.

With this initiative, financial institutions can
easily verify their customers’ identity by
accessing the FRSC database while security
agencies could use the information from the
database to investigate criminal cases.

The Corps Marshal, FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi, who
said this during a training workshop on the new
driving licence and number plates organised
for members of the security agencies in Abuja
on Tuesday, explained that the access being
granted would enable security agencies to check
forgery and other criminal acts.

Oyeyemi stated that the FRSC is building
synergy and cooperation with other security
agencies to check counterfeit driving licence
and number plates by touts and fraudsters.
He noted that the corps’ insistence on due
process for acquisition of driving licence has
paid off, noting that the document now enjoys
international recognition and acceptance in
some states in the United States of America
and other European countries.

The Corps Marshal said, “We are creating a
synergy with other security agencies and
granting them access to our database and with
this, banks and security agencies would now
have access to the FRSC database for
verification of customers and other individuals
as part of measures to check insecurity in the
country.”

Oyeyemi knocked motorists who patronised
touts, stressing that it is cheaper to procure the
driver’s licence from the FRSC.

“The driver’s licence is N6,550, so why give
somebody N10,000 or N15,000 to do a fake one
for you? Is that not stupidity?,” he asked.
Oyeyemi claimed that more security features
had been built into the licence to make it
difficult to forge or duplicate, noting that no
one can obtain it by proxy without undergoing
biometric data and physical capturing.

on why she lied about her age.

In the movie industry it is believed that the
busty actress is within the ages of 33-35, but it
happens that she is just reaching the age of

lied about her age because she wanted to fit in
the movie industry. "When I came to Nollywood,
I had to lie just to fit in because it's an era of

According to several reports online, the famed music producer OJB Jezreel is suffering from diabetes and a re occurrence of his kidney ailment.

He is reportedly receiving treatment for diabetes at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos. According to NET, the veteran hit producer might not be financially capable to treat himself, and complete the 5 stage dialysis to keep him alive. OJB stopped at stage 3 at LUTH after he was discharged for not being able to pay his bills.

OJB will now have to come from his Surulere residence to continue the weekly dialysis treatment which is meant to last for two more weeks. Attempts to reach the producer has proven abortive.

Apart from this, OJB has suffered a relapse because he never went back to India for his post-transplant treatment. He also had an auto accident in September 2014. His friend who was with him in the car was injured seriously. OJB suffered minor injuries and had to walk with a stick for sometime.

In October 2013, OJB Jezreel underwent a kidney transplant at the Columbia Asian Hospital India. The kidney was donated to him by his first wife Mabel. He spent three months in the country before returning back to Nigeria in December 2013.

The money for his transplant was gotten from the donations of well meaning, generous Nigerians, and top Nigerian celebrities.

The massive doctoring of election results during the April 11 governorship election in Akwa Ibom has been apparently exposed by the examination of card readers used in that polling exercise.

The card readers, which were used by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), show that only 437,128 voters were accredited during the April 11th election. However, the same electoral commissioner fraudulently awarded the “winner” of the election, Udom Emmanuel of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), 996,071. In similar vein, INEC arbitrarily allocated 89,865 votes to Umana Okon Umana, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A source at INEC told SaharaReporters that the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state simply colluded with Governor Goodwill Akpabio and the PDP machinery in Bayelsa State to massively rig the polls. The source said the reality on the ground at the election could not justify the huge number of votes allocated the to the PDP candidate in the governorship election.

The card reader data, exclusively obtained by SaharaReporters and attached below, show that Orue-Offong Oruko local government area, the lone LGA won by the APC candidate, is the only area where the number of accredited voters as recorded by card readers almost tally with the number of votes declared by INEC.

Several cases disputing the outcome of the April 11 election have been filed before the elections petition tribunal in Akwa Ibom.

An eight-year-old Ivorian boy, Abou, was found inside a suitcase being carried by a 19-year-old woman into Ceuta, a Spanish enclave next to Morocco, on Thursday.

According to AFP, when police opened the case, the boy who is now in the care of authorities in Ceuta was found in a “terrible state”.

The 19-year-old courier is not related to Abou, and was paid by his father to carry the suitcase, according to El Pais, a Spanish newspaper.

The boy’s father, who is also named Abou, lives in the Canary Islands and had hoped to be reunited with his son, El Pais said.

There is an uneasy calm in the State Security Service over a promotion exercise conducted recently by the leadership of the Service.

No fewer than 45 officers of the Service, including its spokesperson, Marilyn Ogar, were promoted to different grade levels during the exercise.

Mrs. Ogar, a deputy director, who was recently fingered in a bribery scam, and 28 others were elevated from Grade Level 15 to 16 while 16 others moved to Grade Level 17 from 16.

The exercise, believed to have been hurriedly undertaken by the leadership of the SSS in anticipation of its exit on May 29, is embroiled in controversy as some officers, who were also due for promotion, were left out.

PREMIUM TIMES gathered that some of the officers who were interviewed and were qualified for promotion were not uplifted thereby causing disaffection among the officers.

Besides, according to our sources, some state directors, although already issued retirement letters, surprisingly benefited from the exercise.

Some of them are one Achu B, who was the director in the Lagos office and a former director, technical, a Mr. Omeruyi.

Insiders say promotion exercises in the Service usually take effect from July 1 every year, but that the current one was conducted hurriedly by the leadership of the Service to reward its loyalists ahead of the May 29 handover date to a new administration.
The spokesperson of the Service, Ms. Ogar, did not answer or return calls seeking comments for this story.
The Federal Government had last month directed all ministries, agencies and extra-ministerial departments to prepare their handover briefs ahead of May 29 inauguration of the incoming administration of Muhammadu Buhari.
The service chiefs and the police were affected by the directive contained in a memo dated April 13 and signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pius Anyim.

According to Naij.com, a close aide of Jim Iyke told them that Jim is angry over what he termed ‘defamatory comments’ made by Uti about him on JARA. The source said Uti and Helen Paul, a co-host on JARA, had gossiped about the unsavoury relationship between Iyke and Nadia Buhari, his Ghanaian actress ex. The source said:

“Jim is really mad at Uti right now, trust me. He told us he would kill him whenever they meet. He didn’t find the comments made about him funny at all.”
