Voiceofthestree: Oga leave that thing wey you dey talk. Every human being is responsible for his or her success. In Africa we blame people too much for our failures but fail to recognize those who helped us when we succeed. The church does not have a responsibility to raise a country out of poverty. They can help in any way they can, but it is not their core responsibility. Nigerians have grown tired of blaming their leaders, seeing that they have nothing to offer. So, they now resort to blaming the church. Before you accuse anybody of not doing anything, kindly go and do your research. Find out whether they help or not. Oyedepo pays school fees, for some students at Landmark and Covenant University. If you schooled there you would know this. There are other charities these pastors and their ministries are into. But they don't talk about them, so people think they don't do anything. As some people would say, "go and verify". 1 Like |

Anonymoususher: Not true, I am a member of the church. All full-time pastors are given cars and houses which are rented or owned by the church. They can be evicted from those ones. But when he gave them this ones, he gave them the documents of ownership which means they can not be evicted and they can do whatever they want with it. I was there when it happened. 2 Likes |

CoolAmbience: My brother, we all want a better country with better standards of living. This is one thing we can agree with. What he said is not hard to understand now. If someone says don't vote any party, what the person is saying is don't vote any particular party because you want to vote the party or because you have ties with the party. The candidates must be in a party as we all know. What he was simply saying is don't say vote PDP, APC or any other party because you are a follower of the party or because they give you money. He was telling people to vote for the right candidate and he was not talking about independent candidacy as you said. I agree that the church has part to play in the development and advancement of the nation and the little statement he made is one that is needed at this time. God bless you. |

CoolAmbience: Like I said, all you want to do is disagree with what he said since you don't like him and you are still proving that. You claim that there is no sense in what he said yet other people are saying that it makes sense. You say that what we are facing today is as a result of failed parenting and good leadership. I ask you one question, have you not seen people who received good training at home and decided to turn bad? In case you haven't, I have. You also say that all the funds used in building that cathedral is not legit and I can't disagree with you. No matter how you behave, you can't know the sources of income for all your members and followers. They can tell you some and and hide some and they could even lie about their source of income totally. When he spoke against internet fraud in Nigeria, were you not amongst the people who condemned him? We can continue to argue and argue, but all I know is that we all want good leadership and all he said is correct. We need a leader who is ready to prepare Nigeria for the future. Stop trying to attack someone who is speaking the truth. If pastors talk, you people will condemn them. If they don't talk, you'll still condemn them. Na wa for una sef. |

desiredhome: I am glad you said they (the politicians) don't go empty handed and the same politicians defraud the government to give to the churches. They do what they do because they decide to do it, not because the pastors asked the to do it. You'll find that they will steal from the same places if they want to take care of their family, so for some of them it is not new. What those politicians do is not good, even if they want to give the money to the poor. However, if you are going to blame the pastors for that then you need to be able to prove that the pastors or those churches asked them to defraud governments and people and give the money to them. |

CoolAmbience: From all you have typed it is not hard to see that you generally angry with all or most pastors and you feel that all of them are evil and are the same thing. Since you don't understand what he said, let me explain it to you. What he meant is that people should not choose leaders based on tribe, ethnicity or religion. He also said that people should vote people who have a future for the country and not just people whose plan is to get into office. Everything he said is in agreement with what many sensible Nigerians have been saying and I believe you also agree with it. You are only trying to find a way to say something negative about him since you don't like him. By the way the Bible never called buying private jets a sin. As long as it was bought with legit funds, there is no problem with that. David Ibiyeomie does not own a private jet so I don't know why you brought that into this matter. |

CoolAmbience: You just dey find talk. Is there any part of the Bible or the constitution that says after 4 or 8 years a pastor should handover the ministry he heads to another person? Please show me. Thanks. 1 Like |

desiredhome: You are wrong. You claim that the churches are the major problem. Is it because of churches you don't have stable electricity? Is it because of churches you don't have good roads? is it because of churches you don't have good healthcare? Take some time to think of it and you will find out the problem is NO! The politicians steal the money and don't share it with pastors, so I am not sure what you mean by they work hand in hand with politicians. Maybe you can explain. |

Yes. I was chased by the dog of a very irresponsible neighbour back then, when I was a lot younger. One cool evening, I came out to play with other kids in the estate I was living. I was going towards the house of one of my regular play partners, then I noticed that the main protector of my neighbour who had a dog was open. The next thing I saw was the dog and the only thing I could think of was RUN!!! ![]() I thank God I saw the dog on time and my front door was open as I was the only one in the house. So I ran towards my house door in time, got in and shut it. The dog barked for a while I front of my house. I guess it was expecting me to open door. Lol. After about two minutes, it wen back to where it came from. It made me afraid of dogs, but as I grew older and saw other people playing with dogs I became more comfortable. About four years after this happened, the owner of that dog defrauded a Nigerian bank; he borrowed money from a bank and fled to Malaysia. 15 Likes |

It was a time of joy and celebration for the staff and students of Banham Methodist Academy on Tuesday 22nd of February, 2022 as the presiding pastor of Salvation Ministries Pastor David Ibiyeomie handed over the new school building he constructed for the Banham Methodist Academy to the Methodist Church. Pastor David Ibiyeomie, an alumnus of the school earlier this year talked about how he went to the school for an event the previous year and discovered it was in a sad state. He said he could literally point at the particular spot he used to sit over forty (40) years ago and so he asked the school management for permission to take down the building so that he can build a new one. The former building which was a storey building was constructed during the colonial era had less than ten classrooms. While the newly built school is a two (2) storey building that comprises of the following: sixteen(16) learning areas(classrooms), a store area, a head teacher’s office, reception area, two administrative offices and suites, one staff office, library, a crèche,a science laboratory, a home economics laboratory, thirty(30) VIP toilets(five on each wing), and a courtyard. An archbishop of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Emmanuel Udofia, spoke about Pastor Ibiyeomie’s openness to people regardless of church denomination. He said “I just came in here barely two months taking over from my predecessor. I have heard your news, I have heard you, I have watched you, I have listened to you and I have seen you today. You are a man of action. For what you have done, I think it is a very good lesson that you are not a pastor that is found within an area. You are a man that God has given the gift and the talent to impact upon lives.” Pastor David Ibiyeomie said “Life is all I said about contribution, if you are nothing to humanity there is no need existing. So, I felt that a place that has blessed my life I should also contribute in my little way to the place that has affected me positively. That is why we have just come to do what we have done. It is not all you have that matters but what you give to people. Life is about giving. You stop giving, you start dying. This is my own little way to say to the world, thank you and we will do more as we are alive.” This is not the first time the pastor is getting involved with public charity as he previously donated an elderly home to the Catholic Church and donated a hostel to Ignatius Ajuru University in Rivers State. He also gave a one-year scholarship to sixteen (16) pupils present at the ceremony. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHCc3FLG9Z0 See the pictures of the former building
