Can the bride price you people pay even compare to all the BS women have to put up with in marriage? Or the drastic changes to her body from birthing your children? No amount of money is worth a human life ooo.
This part made me laugh because even if the bride price worths more than what she is going through and have to put up with in marriage she is not even entitled to benefit even 5% of the entire bride price paid, so it should never even be a base for discussion. Elders(men and women) get paid for her to face wahala. Humans generally have contributed to all we are facing now, whether good or bad.

And most at times, these men would be the ones telling their wives not to work,if they do so it becomes a big problem for the women.

And yes it's really happening around the society, you will see a man with 4 kids, waking up one day, leaving home and never come back again...but he's around the neighborhood with another woman who might even have had kids of her own,and he starts training hers and gets her pregnant. While the wife keep struggling with the kids, without a dime from him as their father...can you blame the woman alone,NO! Can you blame the man alone NO!. Both genders should please take the blame for this.
The matter get as it be and so many underlining isuues that gets interwoven in the long run, how about the man who owns the children of the woman who is now with the man who abandoned his own family, we will continue to have complex issues like this as long as people keep having reckless relationship and entanglement without defining it and not making plans with the future in focus.

Lmao, they always know what they are doing. Pregnancy is a weapon used by calculating and devious men to tie down a woman or incapacitate her from achieving her dreams /goals.

There was a front page thread of an industrious wife with a philandering husband, who wanted to return to school for an accounting degree to improve herself, after 2 kids (twins). The moment she voiced her desire her foolish husband began to agitate for another child, insisting they try for another child.

It's the women who allow themselves to be saddled with one pregnancy after another, in quick succession, who baffle me the most. No one understands a woman's body more than her and we know better the wear and tear on our bodies too. So, why not take precautions and take care of your body?
One thing I have come to realize is that, no matter how much we witness some things in people's lives, people will always assume that they have learnt the lessons, are in control, know what to do when faced with such situations and they won't allow such or it won't just happen to them, but life can be funny and before you know, such persons are experiencing same thing but in a different way. For some, they have some hidden benefits or agenda so they play along and in the process they get consumed arriving at the same spot they felt they had in their control and some people are just plain ignorant of it all.

It's not about sympathy.
It's not about conscience.
It is about the cause.
It is about who is at fault.
It is about who is the tyrant.
It is about knowing the Genesis of the problem.
And until the full picture is presented, I reserve my comment.

By the way, this is a common occurrence in Igboland.
Cause and effect, it is about a man who probably impregnated another woman outside wedlock, and a woman who probably allowed herself to be impregnated outside wedlock and the children grown up to now become a nuisance. This here might be the genesis of the problem.

It could have been avoided, the law can't stop a wandering man or woman. Now he is dead but the family can't even live peacefully amongst themselves.

His reputation and the endless mental and physical torture in cell/prison experience for two weeks for a crime he never committwd can not and will never be quantified monetarily nor a long running court case, he should just settle out of court with a huge sum in compensation. Slammed My Gavel.. Case Closed.. Court Rise...

If he agrees to settle out of court, I see the company sacking him very soon
Best is for him to resign even if I am sure they will not make an attempt to sack him, unless he is someone that really gets over things like that easily.

The way everything pan out is understandable except the woman foolishly confiding in a prophetess who will only use her to shine either in form of fake prophecy or telling people she saw the vision and made the woman tell her when she asked. Op, I honestly don't know what to advice you concerning your marriage but that 14 year old boy needs to be severely dealt with as that is not his first time and let him know there are consequences for all actions which his mother and sister are not ensuring.
Business / Re: CBN Cashless Policy Is Good For POS Business by cayorday89(m): 11:13am On Dec 08, 2022
thebosstrevor1:

Let me explain

If you are going to make payment through the pos for lets say school fee.

the POS operators deduct the school fees plus commission from your atm, he doesnt have to deal with cash.

Also If a POS operator wants to deal with cash, he can also hoard money( save money) and dispense out to those who want withdrawal for a fee
What you are missing is that, what the POS agent has been doing is now being encouraged to be done by all individuals and organisations, thereby making that school fees you made an example of to be transfered directly by the individual to the school account, the only POS operators that will benefit massively are those in business areas that deal in small cash sales from lots to of customers and end up having huge sums to be deposited in their account. Making them to have huge sums at hand they can then use for those who need withdrawals.

My fear is, what is driving them? Is it greed, national development or power?
The foremost and the latest is what drives them, it can never be national development.

Tomorrow when they have issues and run to the bank, ask them if they have ever given their debit cards and pins to someone and they will say no. Then proceed to scream down the bank.

Good luck to your wife. I just had to react to that part of the post.
Good point you made there, when I was working as a Station Supervisor, I always tell my attendants not to collect anyone's card for a later tranaaction or take it out of their sight, because the day they will experience any form of unexplainable withdrawal, their first suspect will be those guys at the station because I hate being bothered about what I know nothing about.
@gabbasin, tell your wife to desist from doing such, because all that trust will be questioned when anything dubious happens to someone's account and can't be traced or worst still it is traced to an unknown POS agent, she will automatically become the numero uno suspect.

Wall geckos are harmless and non poisonous.

Some tribes/cultures do not kill geckos as they believe they protect the house especially at night.

Personally I find them creepy and irritating though.
who do we believe bayi, someone even told me that if it's killed, dried and grinded into powdered form, it is the most potent poison but always wonder why it's found in every home with the level of carelessness of some households, many more families should be dead, but na who we go believe.
capnies:
LIES
WHEN I WAS IN SECONDARY SCHOOL WALL GECKO FELL INTO OUR POT OF YAM PORRIDGE IN BOARDING HOUSE, INFACT ONE OF MY DINNING TABLE MATE CHEWED THE GECKO THINKING IT WAS FISH BEFORE WE GOT TO KNOW, NOT EVEN A STOMACH PAIN
I have always wondered about the authenticity if this claim about geckos being poisonous as I enjoy seeing them around the house but my parents won't spare them a second at sight.
ahnie:
This stupid wall gecko almost wiped out my entire family last year when it pooped on my chicken okro stew n we innocently ate it.

The only person that wasn't affect was my lil son.

I would advise everyone to always close their food, and pls endeavor not to pick any food that touches the floor of your house back into your mouth.

Even roaches too are another culprits
After your last update, I killed the two geckos I found in my room I no fit die terrible death upon all the suffer wey 9ja give person, na peaceful death I sign for plus it disturbed my sleep that night and I unleashed my fury.

This is not to trivialize her experience, just the other side of it, I would never mock her pain.
The reality behind that most that are okay is better left unimagined, because somehow somehow they are replicating it either over their children or on people who are beneath them, and if they truthfully tell you the struggle they battle with away from them having that money and comfortability and you think they are all okay. It's the reason behind most of the unexplainable random acts or attitudes of some people..

You got my drift.
I also grew up in Kaduna south amongst the southern Kaduna people in the late 70s to early 80s, things that happened back then, if to say social media dey by then, South Africa, Kenya, and Zimbabwe for they learn grin grin
Mine was the entirety of the 90s, there was a man who worked with Nitel with money, na to dey carry women and leave his family two wives and lots of children to beg for daily meal, this one I chop beating one day when my dad caught me giving them lots of garri, and another who sent his wife packing only to marry his wife's friend who is a co-tenant in same building with just few rooms apart only to train the womans daughter she had outside wedlock and abandon his own children, and the singles matter, no be here, landlord sons sleeping with a tenant's child (she is the daughter of the second man above), finally got pregnant and could not point out who was responsible for it. So many tales to tell, all these people are in their late 40s and 50s now, and the first man died poor, his two wives are long dead also, so I don't get surprised when I see and hear things now.

And who told you that's "not what her mom did"
Social media itself is what is blowing things out of proportion.
Just because a 16yr old girl is impregnated in a remote village in Yola today and social media makes the news (video/pictures) viral in less than few minutes will get people talking about how the world has spoilt.
Forgetting that most of our greatgrandmas started bearing children at 13/14yrs old.
There is absolutely nothing new under the earth, King Solomon had 300 wives and 700 concubines, but if you find out that a man has 30 sidechics now, we would be crying on social media that the world has spoilt.

I am not encouraging nonsense ooo, but it is not today that baby mama started.
Do you know that a whole Queen of Sheba was baby mama for King Solomon?
You sabi the drill boss, I lived the first ten years of my life in a very large compound built on a land that cuts across two streets, and things I witnessed from the single aunties and bodas and married folks just make me laugh when they blame this current generations as been spoilt, social media just made it seem like it's a per second occurrence these days.

This means she's not just a baby mama or side chick anymore.

She's officially Davido's wife, but I still don't like the idea of this baby mama of a thing, it is ungodly and aberration.

What I've also realized is that the society sees nothing wrong in it, it is gradually becoming a norm, in fact some young girls now brag about having rich baby daddies.

Young girls and boys should stop indulging in the act.

As a young woman, don't get pregnant for a guy before he marries you, that's not what your mum did.

You should rather say the word "babymama/daddy" is becoming a norm and a freely used vocab because giving birth out of wedlock is not a new thing, its an old habit albeit not totally encouraged, not that it's is encouraged now but na who get time to dey shook mouth for people matter wey no really affect them.

And most men avoid this kind thing...because some see it as a ploy to start billing them for money.

Back to the main issue.

That is guy is already in a relationship...he is just playing games and couple with where he works.

Just be careful!

I won't agree with you on this with regards to your last line, she did not state where he works and he could be different but you were sure he is a player due to his place of work, whereas the Op left his messages unread for 3 days, what made you think the guy too did not see her online within that period and she not replying him. The lady already said it herself that she lost relationships cos of her drama. She needs to change her mentality and she knows, reason why she is here for clarification.

In one of your responses, you said some women sabotage and short-changed their lives, the truth is they don't really see life from that angle because they probably have the feeling of just birthing and God will provide or at best the man will do the tough job whereas parenting goes real deep beyond that and not forgetting the fact that most of them never had the real parenting experience as a child. The only people they will be short-changing and sabotaging their lives are the kids they birth and those who will come in contact with those kids in future for relationship for them it's already a lost cause...
