Politics / Re: Who Would You Prefer For Nigeria's Next President by CECOM: 1:29pm On Jun 30, 2012
Your list should have been a widely representative one or No list at all.
I can see a bias and some personal agenda in play.

The day we remove sentiments, self\group interest, Tribalism in our national life and pursue politics of ideology, merit and achivements, then we will be ready to move forward
Romance / Re: Is It Wrong To Approach A Lady On The Street? by CECOM: 11:31am On Jun 28, 2012
Sijo01: Nothing bad in it, but d manner of approach matters alot.

personal experience: closed frm d ofix on friday, jst steped out frm d gate n i hard somebdy whistling , i sluggishly looked bck thinking it ws a colleague calling out on me, onli to see a stranger flagin me dwn wit his hand, wit dat annoyance, i stoped, touched my head **meaning u nor get sense** & continue my movmnt. instead of him to bck off, he ran afta me lik a mad man. cought up wit me & was like:

Him: Hi, am Barr. Chuks
Me: is dat why u were embarrassing me wit ur whistle?
Him: Sori abut dat, am Barr chuks
Me: *gettin pissed d more* barrister chuks, barrister chuck, did u kram it. I dnt hv a court case pls. *stoped a bike n walked out* later felt some guilt though but d MANNER of APPROACH was POOR.

So what wz really POOR
The fact he was whisling or the way he was whistling.
The fact he was not your colleague
The fact that he flaged u down with his hands and ran after you
Or the fact he introduced himself as Barr. Chuks

#Just wondering#
Romance / Re: White, Western Woman Dating A Nigerian Man - Equality Issues by CECOM: 10:06pm On Jun 27, 2012
Mrs..Chima:

Exactly. Why act one way in Sweden and another way in Nigeria? That's FAKE.

Nigeria and Sweden aren't same Bro.
Do they Kidnap whites in Sweden (that is looking at one aspect of her complaint)

The Best thing here is to communicate with your Man and try to find out why the change \ concern about things in a way that is different from before and then try to discern the sincerity of purpose without making any assumptions so you don't get hurt one way or the other.
Romance / Re: Is It Wrong To Approach A Lady On The Street? by CECOM: 9:08pm On Jun 27, 2012
@OP
Nigerian men are g.enerally unadventurous, unromantic and kinda Boxed-in

Nigerian Ladies....Simply Hypocrites.

Why Approach or respond to someone in a particular place (somebody even mentioned places of worship) but not in another place if you truely feel an attraction.

Me think if you feel IT, then go for IT and if you are IT then let IT roll. No hard and fast rules ppl unless ofcource u re FAKE

yuzedo:
What??!
Pick up a Nigerian lady in a restaurant??
So that she can ask you to pay for her food??!
You must be mad! angry

No Nigerian Lady goes to the restuarant or such places unaccompanied or unescorted by a male. Whatever the reason....

So no need to worry abt that part
Education / Re: Abuloma Girls College: Students Hospitalised After Bloody Clash by CECOM: 8:16am On Jun 24, 2012
Spirit of Okija:

Dude....

I don't live more than 10mins away from that school. After I saw this thread, I immediately called up one of my girls whose mum teaches in that school and she confirmed the story. Her mum dispelled the bringing of boys into the school gist but however said the fight took a bloody turn this time around. She however said that fights between SS2 girls and SS3 girls has been a yearly occurrence at the school and it's borne out of power struggle. The only difference was that this time around, weapons were used and casualties were high. If you attended a government school were SS3 students were Demi-gods and could punish students, you'll better appreciate the turn of events that transpired in the school. Nobody I'd saying it's good or okay, but let's leave the government out of this. This is strictly a case of juvenile delinquency gone wrong. Even I had fights with senior students in my days... These institutions educate, discipline and try as much as they can to protect these kids the best they can... Wait till you have kids then maybe you'll understand the pressures these teachers have to deal with daily.. I just hope no permanent damage was done, that's all.

My Brother let me start by telling I had the rare opportunity of passing thru both system of education. 3 years in a Fed Govt school and 3 years in a missionary private.

Let get some things staright.
-That a 'wrong' has been going on for years does not make it any less Bad. Because it will only get worse.

-Parent should bring up there kids well. thatz a good point but if our children are gonna be in schol even for only 1 hour, there should be the assurance that everything will be done to protect them. From bullies, Undue peer pressure, Assualt and even from the staff too. Everybody has a role to play and the school Management has the Authority to wield the big stick but unfortuanately today they are so match after power, contracts and Money to care or in other cases they say it is a 'yearly occurrence'.

-In my. Secondary school days, Senior students had the right to discipline Junior students too but you know why this kind of incident never happened then. Simply because the school had and excersised the overall authority over but the senior and Junior student and if they felt you were not manageable, you are expelled \ suspended.
I want to bet you that if this incident is well handled and those who are found culpable are duly punished by expelling them as this is a criminal offense, this kind of incident will not occur in that school again at least until every student who witnessed the incident and saw the consequence have graduated.

We all need to start taking responsibilities for our actions and inactions. Parents, school authorities and Government.
And also instil in these young ones the essence of Responsibilities, Accountability and Character.
Education / Re: Abuloma Girls College: Students Hospitalised After Bloody Clash by CECOM: 11:06pm On Jun 23, 2012
This is really Pathetic and clearly shows the level of moral decadence that our society has fallen into.
Imagine Secondary students students carrying weapons with an aim to Maim or probably kill fellow students \ staff. Not to mention all other immoral acts as depicted by the initial post.
These vices and moral decadence is witnessed in most schools today while everyone looks the other way. And today in the Society, we are havesting this Seed that is actually sown in the Homes and Watered in the Schools.
More disgusting is some of the posts I have read here justifying in one way or the other this very dispicable and ugly incident.

@Spirit of Okija.. Have you really read the report about this incident and you compare it with your Dad digging hole around their pricipal car in their own days and at the same time call it normal and Youth exuberance *smh*

For those telling us this Institution produces world queens and academically sound students, what about moral soundness, discipline and character on which most academic honours are also issued.

Finally, Our educational system is really a mess and Government and its institutions have completed failed. Juvinile Deliquency, Truancy and vices could be expected among teenagers (a few bad eggs though) but it is the duty of these institutions to protect and educate the kids and as much as possible prevent the thuggery and bloodbath we keep seeing in our Nation.

Politics / Re: Plagiarism: Sanusi Refused To Appear In Court by CECOM: 8:26pm On Jun 02, 2012
Guilty or not.. Sanusi has once again shown the Impunity, Abuse and Arrogance for which Public office holders are known for in Nigeria.
The plaintiff had written him privately about this issue and asked for an apology from which obvious he did not honor...What was he thinking.

The CBN in a statement issued April 25th defended SlS freed him of any blames even as the case is still before the court while also vouching for the CBN in whose capacity they claimed SLS now delivers his lectures.......Meeeeehn

It is only in this country that we play down and play politics with issues that mean a lot in other Climes.
Imagine he did not even appear in court.

Business / Re: At What Age Should One Be A Millionaire? by CECOM: 11:04pm On Mar 18, 2012
Made my ist Mil @ 29 last year. Graduated from uni @ 25 with a wonderful degree result, but could not get any good Job and knew nobody but GOD. started work @27 with a coy where am being paid peanuts but I stayed on cause of the learning and mentoring and my vision to become an Enterpreneur. Started my own firm @ 28 while still holding my Job. Hit my first big Job a year later without any connection at all and that is it. My first Mil, first biz capital ....
Am still working for my Boss while I have my own coy and employees.

So back to the issue. It is hard to make your first Million below age 25 both here and in the western world because the general perception is "Go to School, Make a good Grade and then You get a GOod Job and Life is Good". But that no longer works. And the shock is showing everywhere.
It is harder here in Nigeria where we get outta school late and before u know it age and responsibilities has cut on. Plus there is no available Jobs, no encouragement to self emploment and Enterpreneurship.

The most important thing anyways is to be focused and have a clear Vision and Mission in Life. And Work hard towards it
The Money will come Later not Before
