Computers / Fake SWIFT Nettwork Login Page-what Are The Risks? by charity00: 12:29pm On May 05, 2013
On Google came across a website. When I clicked it, was diverted to SWIFT Network login page-thought it was legit, as that's what happens when the bill isn't paid.

Username/password failed. Went straight to the SWIFT site and was able to log in. Also saw slight difference in the other SWIFT login, which leads me to believe it's fake.

I have done Windows Defender, and Kapersky and a kelogger program. Nothing found. What else should I do to make sure nothing malicious was installed?

Thanks
Computers / Anybody Come Across A Fake Swift Network Login Page? by charity00: 1:18am On May 05, 2013
Was searching google. Click on a site an was directed to a "Swift Login Page" Tried to login, as it just so happens today is the due date and thought perhaps the payment hadn't posted.

The username and password didn't work; but when I immediately tried on on Swifts own site I was able to log in. Immediately changed password; no other information was given other than the attempt to log on to my Swift account.

Anybody come across this?

Thanks
Romance / Re: Should I Guy Give His Girl 500k To Open A Shop On Blind Faith? by charity00: 9:03pm On Sep 07, 2012
If your girl-friend has no plan, then she is ready bound to fail. Even if she knows what to do with the money,

Well the answer that always gets thrown up in guy's face is that there are other girls who don't have formal business plans (or for that matter, much of a formal education) who have businesses. And the shops are there, but as was posted earlier, are they being subsidized by the guy throwing good money after bad so the girl can enjoy the prestige of being a shop owner?

Or are some of these stalls in markets actually successful on their own?
Romance / Re: Should I Guy Give His Girl 500k To Open A Shop On Blind Faith? by charity00: 7:51pm On Sep 07, 2012
Yes you are right but the OP's grievance is probably more to do with the value of the investment rather than the attitude.
He has always been comfortable with doling out money with little or no questions asked so why is this any different if he can afford it.

Yes it is very painful to believe someone is being completely honest and sincere, but seems to be blind to the possibility of failure.
Romance / Re: Should I Guy Give His Girl 500k To Open A Shop On Blind Faith? by charity00: 8:44pm On Sep 06, 2012
Not swot analysis no cash.

Ok then, what is the bare minimum you would accept as far as a plan?

And where, if the girl refuses to provide information, can a guy go to get the info he needs to confidently invest?
Romance / Re: Should I Guy Give His Girl 500k To Open A Shop On Blind Faith? by charity00: 7:34pm On Sep 06, 2012
That girl is being arrogant and childish...how on earth does she expect someone to give her N500,000, when she can't provide a reasonable business plan that would convince him beyond every reasonable doubt that indeed she needs that money.

Perhaps this part wasn't made clear. There is a business plan; it is as follows:

I reject failure in the name of Jesus.

Do you trust that plan?
Romance / Re: Should I Guy Give His Girl 500k To Open A Shop On Blind Faith? by charity00: 7:02pm On Sep 06, 2012
naija gals have low business IQ.

Since that is the case, shouldn't the girl being doing something to convince the guy otherwise? Who starts a business without a plan; even a small shop should have a plan, shouldn't it?
Romance / Re: Should I Guy Give His Girl 500k To Open A Shop On Blind Faith? by charity00: 6:45pm On Sep 06, 2012
This girl will not dump the guy. But what this girl might do, because she won't plan properly, is lose the guy's money. Then what happens? What is so wrong about the guy having some information?

Is it really true that if you ask somebody about how to open a shop, Nigerians will not support you?
Romance / Should I Guy Give His Girl 500k To Open A Shop On Blind Faith? by charity00: 6:16pm On Sep 06, 2012
Girl dates guy. Girl is not working. She is however, loyal and faithful and takes care of things around the house. Girl asks guy for money, rent, food, hair, school and so on. Girl says if guy is tired of girl asking for money, guy should give girl 500k for opening a shop, so she can make her own money.

Guy says fine, bring me some information; bring me a plan; bring me somebody who has opened a shop before. Girl won't do any of that, saying she's 100% convinced that she can not fail, and that guy is just being selfish and greedy.

Question: If girl wants 500k for shop, isn't fair to do something to convince the guy it's a good investment, such as write up a business plan, or at least introduce guy to people who have made a successful go of things?

Should a guy, even in Nigeria where the woman expects to be taken care of, hand over 500k just because the girl says she knows she will make money?

You can't go back to secondary school if you are over 25 can you?

So what do you do if you want to sit for the WAEC and you haven't been in secondary school for 6 or 7 years?

Education / Need Prep To Pass Waec by charity00: 5:14am On Mar 03, 2012
Here's the deal:

Person went through SS3 but didn't take the final exams. They have been out of school several years, so they need to go back and pass the WAEC. (They have been out of school a few years now)

-Are there any schools in Lagos/V.I. area where one can go and prepare for the WAEC?

-If so, what is a reasonable price to pay?

-Are there any highly recommended study guides to pass the WAEC?

-Do you have to get your records from your old secondary school, as proof, before someone lets you sit for the WAEC?

Any help appreciated.

Family / Re: What To Pay A Driver? by charity00: 6:35pm On Dec 30, 2011
I'm really not sure where the confusion is:

Person needs a driver between the hours of 5:00pm Friday and 7:00pm Sunday.

Person is willing to pay 30k

Within that time frame, how many hours is it appropriate (fair market value for 30K) for that driver to be available, and how many hours should he have off, within that 50 hour time frame?
Family / Re: What To Pay A Driver? by charity00: 8:00pm On Dec 26, 2011
Yes chaircover it's weekends only The thing that was being asked was out of that 50 hour block (make it 48 hour 7:00pm Friday, to 7:00pm Sunday) what would be fair amount of hours during that time?

Is it legitimate for a driver (in this market) to say "I can't work Friday night and Saturday morning, because realistically, I can't make it home and back even if you give me an 8 hour block off Saturday afternoon, so you have to pay more than 30 if I work Friday night"

Family / Re: What To Pay A Driver? by charity00: 12:15pm On Dec 23, 2011
I would say that something in the region of N10k to 12k plus all his meals (good food o!) & somewhere to kip for the night is reasonable and if you are happy with his attitude etc then you can give him an extra N2k when he is leaving as transport money to get back home.
(

Thank you. It isn't the money that's the issue. It's what is fair as per the number of hours during that time-block. The driver, for example, claiming that time off between the hours of 1:00pm and 9:00pm on Saturday isn't really "time-off" because traffic is such that they can't travel back home during that time, so therefore, the driver should close at 5:00, or be paid extra (on top of 30K) for the evening.

But who wants to stay home Saturday evening? undecided

And it's not the employer's fault the driver lives too far away to go back home during the Saturday afternoon "time off" is it?

A person needs a driver between the hours of close of business 5:00pm Friday and Sunday evening 7:00pm. Not the ENTIRE time, but DURING that time frame.

The person is willing to pay 30,000 Naira for a driver during that 50 hours block. What is a realistic expectation, as in fair market value, as to the total number of hours (during that 50 hour block) to expect the driver to be available?

Is Friday night, Saturday morning (5-7 hours off in the afternoon) Saturday evening, then Sunday day (5-6 hours) fair for that amount of money?
(What if a driver says realistically, they can't do anything during the off hours, because their home is too far to travel to? Is that a legitimate complaint?)

Under those circumstances is Friday evening too much to ask (as there will be no legitimate way to get home for Saturday morning before having to resume?)

What's fair to expect in terms of total number of hours during that time block? (Owner's car, not driver's car)

Thank you

Phones / Is A Blackberry Better? by charity00: 2:05am On Aug 21, 2011
Found a Samsung overseas, unlocked quad band. Not for business really just for calls, Internet and Facebook. Friend insist the blackberry has "special features" for Internet, Yahoo, and Facebook that a Samsung doesn't have.

I think the only "special feature" it has is that the blackberry is a status symbol that you can show off to your friends.

Romance / Boyfriend Must Buy Girlfriend A Smartphone Or He Doesn't Love Her? by charity00: 5:21pm On May 06, 2011
"If a girl asks you for a smartphone and you don't buy it, you're inviting the girlfriend to cheat. That's the Nigerian way"

Yep those were actually the words that came out of naija girl's mouth.

"The boyfriend takes care of the needs of the girlfriend; that's how it's done here"

Really? Doesn't anybody out here think that is a legitimate thing for a girl to say if she really cares about a guy? Especially when you consider the so called "Girlfriend" has been home from school for two weeks, yet spends only two days with boyfriend and yet boyfriend is expected to buy smartphone for girlfriend who is going to travel again for four months?

You know you had only two weeks at home, you know you're going away for four months, yet because you spent two days with boyfriend he should drop 60,000 naira on a smartphone so she can "do her email and stuff" while she's away?

If that's really "the Nigerian way" for the guy to do that, then what is "the Nigerian way" for the girl to behave in return? Show up twice in two weeks and blame it on the father because "I"m still under my dad's roof"

And yet, when the guy calls her bluff and says he wants to show he's serious by meeting the family the girl refuses saying "You don't understand; these things take time in Nigeria."

Really? You can't meet the father after 7 months? One would think if an adult daughter is pushing 30 years old, the dad would LOVE to meet a potential suitor. Is that not the case?

Can anybody please convince this guy (boyfried) that no girl who really cares about a guy would say and act in this way?

What would you advise the guy to say when she trots out the "it's the Nigerian way" line?
Romance / When Naijagirl Starts Asking For Money: by charity00: 10:33pm On Apr 24, 2011
They say (so I hear) that it is customary for the guy to take care of the girl's "needs" over here.

So when the relationship gets to the point where she routinely asks for money; 4,000N for hair, 2,000N for personal care items, phone cards and such, what is customary for the girl to do in return?

Asking for money suggests a certain level of commitment on the guys part does it not. So what does the girl do (or is customarily expected to do) as far as showing commitment on her part?

If she's asking for "needs" to be taken care of, wouldn't it be normal to expect her to be willing to take care of her man as well?
