If you prefer another master they will not consider your masters cgpa. I think you have better chance in PhD because your high cgpa in master has compensate low cgpa in bachelor.
I dont want to go for a Phd because I know how competitive and stressful Phd study is, and I do not have any publications or interest in long term research work, hence why I am choosing to do a second masters. The admission officer in my school of interest advices I evaluate my masters transcript course by course so that I may be able to transfer credits, but I just wanted to hear from anyone here on what is usually obtainable in my case. Also, please would there be a problem at the embassy with the VO if I say I am going for a second masters?

Goodafternoon everyone. Please I have a question and I would appreciate if anyone can help with answers. So I have a Bsc degree and a previous masters degree and I intend going for a second masters degree in the US. But I am not sure if I am to apply to schools using my Bsc degree or my previous masters degree. I do not know which of my degrees I am to evaluate. I have a CGPA of 2.71 in my Bsc, and 4.62 CGPA in my masters.

Hello everyone. Please I have a question that needs urgent answers.

So my sister has admission from New Brunswick Community College, her resumption is suppose to be for Sept 4th. Her Visa just came out yésterday(she applied since April/May), and same yesterday while trying to submit her visa to the school as requested, she found out that her school has cancelled her admission, they said the deadline for submission of student visa has passed. She has sent countless emails explaining the situation of things, as the visa delay was not her fault but the embassy, the school insisted and said thats their final decision, that there is nothing they can do, her admission has been cancelled, and they are saying she should either wait till next year september for the next resumption or request for a refund of her tuition fee. She is very sad about this outcome

Please is there anyone that has experienced this kind of thing or can advice on what she can do for the school to change their stance and grant her admission back.

Sometimes, you dont have to see te whole picture before you commit to a course.

I'll leave you with these words to ponder on...

"If we try, we might win..... if we dont try, we HAVE LOST."

Wow....... word of wisdom!!!!! I will always remember this, Thank you very much!

Thanks Boss. I am not allowing my girlfriend to be the deciding factor. Her insistence on my not joining wouldn't have changed my decision. It would have only hurt to let her go but I would still have moved on. The deciding factor here is that I can't imagine going to spend another 18 months in Police Academy after all the years I've spent in school. Besides, withdrawing at this time wouldn't in any way hurt me financially in future. Like I said, I am enjoying a thriving legal practice which is sustaining me very well and has the potential for more financial success.

What are you scared of the 18 months thing, afterall the 18 months comes with a monthly salary , so it's not bad after all and what is 18 months spent in police academy compared to a long term career goal you stand to acheive. And by the way I don't think they spend up to 18 months anymore, I know someone who joined during the last recruiment, she spent almost a year (12months) at the police academy

Visa approved on Friday for6.30am Lagos embassy even though it wasn't my doing...
It was just brief and an interview of grace cos the V.O denied everyone he attended to before my turn. For that day, I was the second person he approved.
I am a silent follower but have gained alot through this forum, God bless you all for your contributions and advise so far especially MsNas for every of her effort. She is the only friend and sister I know one on one.
The transcript goes thus:
V.O- Good morning
Me- Good morning (with a smile)
V.O- Can I have your passport
Me- (Passed it to him)
V.O- So where are you going?
Me- To Ball States University, Indiana for my masters degree
V.O- Course?
Me- Accounting
V.O- What course did you study for bsc?
Me- Accounting
V.O- Have you paid your sevis fee?
Me- Yes (Passed the receipt)
V.O goes through it and says it's not reflecting on the system yet
He further asked when I finished school?
Me- 2011
V.O- What have you been doing?
Me- Went for my NYSc in 2012 which ended in 2013, ever since then took up a job with Wema Bank
V.O- (Kept nodding)Who is paying?
Me- My dad
The V.O finally said I will be approving your visa so u get to pick it up on Thursday cos ur sevis fee is yet to reflect.
And left immediately with a smile cos I wasn't even drilled as prepared as I was.

Thanks for your contribution so far on this forum ... Please I need info on anyone going to Indiana or who lives in Indiana.

Thanks

Congrats dear, I don't know you tho but it's d wema bank I saw there that caught my attention. I took up employment in wema 2013 n left 2014 afta a year. Congrats once again, happy for you

Hello Charlfay,
My honest advise to you now considering the age (even though is not a barrier , is just a number grin ), write GRE and get a good score, apply for MSc in biochemistry (hoping you get good funding for this program to cover the 'finances').
With the above you stand a good chance of getting student visa by God's grace. not forgetting your end goal, still be looking out for a good school that offer BSc Nursing (you can switch course, degree or school along) don't ask me how yet.

on the alternative, you can still apply to schools for BSc Nursing now. google is your best friend on this.
The question you asked about community school (sorry I have no response to that) but, I think you should start first before the switch.

What's your academic profile like?

Thanks Cal, actually that Gre dey fear me because of the maths, I don't like maths,in fact am very bad at maths. That's why am trying to avoid gre by opting for another bsc. And again I have passion for nursing, which is another reason for wanting to change course.
Academic Profile: BSc Biochemistry
CGPA: 2.75/5, 2.85/4
