I know Ontario didn’t accept expired license from me even with an extract, not sure about others. Also, they didn’t accept a valid license without extract too.

I moved my dog to Canada with me after several months! If anyone was wondering how to do it, I’ll just summarise here. I struggled to get info when I wanted to do it, hence this summary.
My dog is a small dog, so it was easier, there’s more restrictions for dogs over 8kg (carrier weight included).
What you need
1. Export permit, microchip and all vaccination certificates and records. (I got all these from my vet for about 80k). The quarantine section at MMIA will collect the export permit and ask you to pay 5k to affix some strap to your dog carrier.
2. An airline approved bag/carrier to fit your pet. If you dog is a big dog, they’ll send you to cargo department.
3. Inform your airline while booking your ticket to add your pet on your trip. I went with ET airline so I paid USD150 as the fee to add my dog to my ticket. This fee is payable upon checkin at the airport. I initially booked KLM but they won’t carry your pet if your stopover is over 3 hours plus they have some restrictions on certain kinds of planes as well.
4. Declare your pet when you arrive Canada. (I landed YYZ so I don’t know about any other airports) You’ll pay a fee of about CAD37 at the airport declaration place.

I sent my passport to IRCC via VFS Lagos and it came back much earlier than I expected. 5 weeks instead of 6. I guess they’re sitting up now? Lol

14th April - PPR
19th April - dropped passport at DHL
20th April - VFS acknowledged receipt
- Series of emails from vfs that were sometimes confusing but I wasn’t bothered about because I wasn’t exactly in a hurry to get my passport back.-
16th May - Counterfoil generated and application approved
23rd May - VFS Lagos received and DHL picked up
I tried tracking on dhl since 23rd with my return waybill given when I submitted but it wasn’t working. When I didn’t hear from dhl, I called customer service and they advised me to revisit dhl office I submitted at. When I got there today to ask what’s up, they brought out my passport to tell me they changed the waybill and a bunch of other stories. they couldn’t even be bothered to attempt delivery since Monday . Submitted my ID and they let me pick up the package. so yay that.

I have read through everything in the link you sent to me and I understand all the requirements now.

We had a lengthy discussion and he opened up that he is not in the child’s life, the child does not know him as a dad and he doesn’t even believe he impregnated the lady in the first place, she disappeared after they broke up and came back later with the child, that it is just his family being emotional and acknowledging the lady and her child because she was close to them when they were dating. He said he will request for a DNA when he is psychologically ready but right now he doesn’t see the child as his, so he cannot allow me to put it on our application. I didn’t know about this before marriage anyway.

So I am confused, stuck, and seeing my Japa dream in flames after acing IELTS, TEF, with a masters and over 7yrs work experience and my POF intact.

Is there a way out for me, what options do I have or I should just accept my destiny and hope my children will make it out on their in future…

Legally, If his name is not on the birth certificate of the child then, that’s not his child and you don’t have to mention that child because there’s no record of that being his child.

Morally, you guys can choose to do the DNA test, go through the steps of legally acknowledging the child and then apply for your PR with the child mentioned. This is my own opinion.

Last I checked, They give cash. You don’t have to be an account holder. But bear in mind, they give small denominations a lot too. I don’t mind since nobody discriminates those abroad.

Your Nigerian drivers license with at least 1 year is all you need in Ontario, well, as far back as February 2020, a couple of friends did get to use only their Nigerian drivers license(without the extract) to waive the 1year wait between g1 and g2. One in Hamilton ON and the other in Etobicoke ON. So, if you can’t get the extract and you’re coming to Ontario, you should be good.

Please does the Nigerian license need to still be valid as at the time of application in Canada?

I really don’t know but Google rate is always official rate which nobody uses. At BDCs it’s usually about N75 to 1GHC last I checked. Naira has not been at its best lately so I won’t be surprised if it’s really N100.

Tbh, your POF doesn’t exactly have to have been in your account for up to 6 months, the VO just has to be convinced it’s yours. My POF was deposited in bits into the account I used, with the last deposit made 1month to my AOR. First deposit was 6 months to AOR and all deposits weren’t even from me. I didn’t even use 1 account or 1 institution. Yet I’ve gotten PPR and had no ADR for POF. Just do what you can to convince the VO that the money is yours

You have to send to CVAC. You can only send directly to IRCC if they email you and ask for an additional document to be sent to them directly. Example, in the case of a missing passport photo.

On page 2 of the CVAC consent form which you're to fill, there's provision to provide home address, email, phone number etc.

Usually when you apply for a new Nigerian passport, the old one is cancelled without prejudice and automatically invalid regardless of the validity on it. Let her check the middle of her passport and see they should have stamped cancelled without prejudice, so I’m not sure she can still use it.

Her international passport is still valid till January 2023, however she got married sometime last year and has done name change so she applied for a new passport very recently(expedited/fast tracked). The issue is she just got PPR today so she wants confirmation on whether she can send the old one for CoPR and whenever the new one comes, she’ll attach both and travel without issues or should she wait for the new one and send to Accra.

I completed my application today, uploaded all the required documents and proceeded to transmit and pay but I was timed out. I logged back in to continue and I can not find anywhere to click for payment or to proceed. The "continue application" icon is no longer showing.

Maybe give it an hour, login again using a different browser. Your application can’t vanish as long as you were saving it as you went along.

To add to what ednut already told you, check Google flights as well for the cheapest dates to travel if you’re not set on travelling on any particular date. Google flights will show you when flights are cheapest if you just put your destination.

How was the invigilator? Did you have any issues with checking in? Did they have to check your environment before you wrote? Was the invigilator annoying and constantly talking or just watching you creepily?
