Romance / Re: Okafor's Law by chika98: 5:06pm On Oct 19, 2011
Technically Okafor's law holds no water. It is just a mental constraint people put on themselves. You can get over anyone if you tried hard enough. Go through a catharsis and get rid of any leftover feelings. Besides who wants to be held captive by some exes abilities in bed. That's not the way to live a happy fulfilled life.
Romance / Re: Meeting The Right Person At The Wrong Time by chika98: 4:55pm On Oct 19, 2011
The difference between being a gf/bf vs a husband or wife has everything to do with timing. Wrong timing and everything is thrown off.

THE WOMAN
weak storyline/plot, weak acting!!!!!

storyline: a man goes hunting in the woods and spots a woman who has been living in the wild (as an animal). he catches her and bring her back to his house, where he intends to bring her back to civilization, with the help of his wife and kids.

2/10

I'm sorry this story line sounds so freaking DRAFT! Who even gave them money to produce and act out this rubbish? LOL! No wonder you gave it an 2. Just by reading this I'd give it a 0.

erico2k2:

well over here in the Uk, the first barrier migrant face is that of papers, if you clear that hudle then it boils down to xpirience.why would one limit themself to them kind of Jobs? the watch word is THINK BIG

Did you even READ and understand what I was on about before you jumped into conclusions? Well of course you have to think big BUT in this economy where the jobs aren't readily available for graduates; I'm talking about those who want to get something doing until they find their dream job. READ next time and understand before going off and talking about irrelevant things.

Sky-walker:

Well to be honest,in portsmouth where i am.There are loads of menial jobs.I did care for 6 months before i got my dream job.It might take people new in town 2-3 weeks but they will get a job.Thats the problem people face trying to live in London. The quality of life outside London is far better. You dont get loads of competition around her like london. Customer service jobs are even here as 3 of my friends just got the job. I still say to people.Life outside London is better and there is no stress here.People call it a village but at least i am happy.I see loads of naija in london and i keep wondering what they are doing there. The traffic and expensive stuff there is enough to drive me away

See you situation is EXACTLY what I'm on about. Getting something on the side whilst one is looking for a decent job. I hear that often times they don't even wanna give you care job because they say you're over qualified with a Masters. I just know a few folks that are going through it right now so my heart goes out to them. It is actually quite sad.

Sky-walker:

Depends on how u see it.Its everywhere. Lots of companies are looking for experienced people and dont have time to educate people.I know that for a fact because in the jo i am.I am left to do things on my own.I have to think hard and find solutions online. In Uk here. One thing i noticed is they dont care if you got PHD.they will prefer someone with experience. but some few companies do respect certificates but not a lot. They just want to get on with the job here

I guess I see what you mean. I've got some friends in the UK finding it hard to get something even if it's a cleaning job or something. It is different here where I live. Getting a menial job isn't hard to come by. Some Nigerian families here a living comfortably working in group homes and doing care work. As long as you wanna work; they'll give it to you. They don't care if you've got a college degree or not. I live in the US in case you were wondering
Travel / Re: The UK officially The Worst Place Live In Europe? by chika98: 4:52pm On Oct 14, 2011
Also I hear that getting a menial job is hard over there if you've got a masters because you're considered to be over qualified for it. Doesn't make much sense to me because if you're willing to work then you should be able to get it.

Real Steel: Brilliant movie. Reminds me of the film "The Champ". Will just tug at your heart strings. Beautifully made.

Ides of March: This movie has just launched Ryan Gosling as an A list star. Pretty soon dude will start making $20mill a picture. He was brilliant in it. All the political propaganda was well played out. George + casting directors did an awesome job casting him.

Now that rubbish called Footloose remake. . . . Won't even bother with it

If a woman

Talks/nags less, Gives me my space, Makes her own good money, Immune from mood swings and less controlling

Why not.

Then the importance of the two reasons below is swaying

LOL! I laugh because men who have this kinda behavior towards marriage realize later in life that yes they do want a partner after all and by then it is a little too late. They end up 40 ish looking for a 23 year old to be with or asking friends if they know a nice girl.
Marriage just like life has it's ups and downs but would you rather be dead? I guess not. If you would then jumping off a bridge or drinking poison will be a great idea and I reckon you should consider it? grin grin I kid i kid

Our attitude changes a lot of things. If you're positive that you're looking to live a life filled with happiness then you most definitely will get that.
Those dudes you chill out with will get married and have families of their own. It won't be the same anymore.

Moreover, Why would any woman wanna mooch off you? if you've got a good job with brilliant education then you'll only attract a like minded person.
Why did I write this whole thing to you? Because sometimes you forget that a woman CHOOSES the man she wants to be with. She makes that chioce to settle down with you. A good woman is worth getting married to. At some point in your life you'll wanna care about someone else other than yourself.

So be positive and let the good things come when they do. cheesy

Actually, the problem lies with your shallow mindedness and inability to see things outside the box and from a broader perspective. I have no "hatred" for the institution called marriage rather i am pointing out the obvious depreciation in it's usefulness in today's modern world (if you weren't so biased and self absorbed in your myopic judgments, you would have clearly seen that).

Before you comment on this topic, ask your self what marriage stood for 50 years ago (with the way things were back then) and compare it with today. Look around you, how many marriages since 2000 are successful? It's doesn't take rocket science to figure out that what i pointed out earlier (gender equality/the feminazi movement) are a big part of the problem.

Please, make an effort to think before you talk next time. Nuff said!

Thank you Mr open minded. I didn't actually expect a different response from what you've put up here. You're quite right because next time; I'd really think first before I respond to you. LOL! How typical!
Family / Re: What Is In A Marriage? by chika98: 8:58am On Aug 24, 2011
harakiri:

From a man's perspective, there's nothing in marriage most especially in today's "civilized" social construct. Gender "equality"/the feminazi movement have killed the essence of marriage. Most people who get married today are in it for the wrong reasons e.g they are old enough, they have the finance, they want kids, they want to please society, their religion dictates it,for sex, etc. When the temporary euphoria elapses, it's only a matter of time before reality sets in. You can have company, sex and kids without marriage. Nuff said!

Your deep hatred for all things marriage is so apparent as you go about the forum announcing it
every chance you get. Do yourself a favor: Never get married. cool
