You’re welcome. Yes you can. It’s called dual intent. A lady who was in the EE pool with a high score recently applied for a study permit and she received an approval for her study permit. If I see her story, I’ll tag you. Please try to read through the thread from page one to get adequate knowledge about applications. You can learn a thing or two from people’s approvals, rejections and documents submitted. All the best Ma oreafe: |

Hello oreafe, With an annual tuition of 17m, the proof of fund you submitted is insufficient. You are required to show 1 year tuition + at least 10,000 cad for your proof of funds. Let’s assume the over 10,000 cad in your account will be for your living expenses. Your husband pays 17 million for your tuition. He will be left with 3 million. Please note that you should also show 3,000 -4,000 cad for “others” which would take care of transportation and miscellaneous. Since you have kids, the visa officer would also look out for how your hubby and kids will survive after all your expenses are paid, so the money left with your husband (2 million or less) would be deemed insufficient to care for everything. I hope you see where I’m coming from. While you wait for your gcms notes, you can try to build your account up. Update: after writing all these, I saw you mentioned that you paid fees. How much did you pay? Did you pay 1 year tuition? Did you attach the receipt from your Uni confirming payment? Did you get a study leave letter? In your next application, I’ll advice you attach any document that could show that your hubby and kids who will stay behind have adequate resources to live well. In all, the GCMS notes would make everything clearer. All I have said here are just speculations. As for cheap schools, you can consider thesis master’s, they’re usually way cheaper with more scholarship options but most require you find a supervisor before application. For schools with cheap courses in your line check: Memorial university of Newfoundland Canadian Mennonite University Centennial college Royal roads university St Mary’s University, Halifax Carleton University Simon Fraser University A google search with the name of course and Canada in front e.g “Master’s in International relations course Canada” will also bring up many options. You can state the specific course you’re looking at, so people can assist adequately. @lekiboboe is our guru for that All the best Ma. oreafe: |

Hello Tobyy10, Is this statement for your personal bank account or for a sponsor? Did you get it from the bank yourself? Was every page stamped by the bank? Was there any lump sum deposit in the account? These questions might help reveal where the problem is from. This situation must be handled properly and with care, as it could attract a 5 year ban Tobyy10: |

Hello, I stated it was my personal opinion. I believe having a study leave shows support from your employer, shows you have something to come back to, a reason to return back to Nigeria, and a job is a strong home tie. So that improves your chances of overcoming the home tie problem which is common. In the end, despite all the advice you’ll get here, the final decision on what to do lies in your hands. Unfortunately, I can’t vet your write up. I’m not an expert in that. I hope other gurus can help with that @frankrobbn1 @justmellow @osemigho and others please. All the best kelvine95: |

Hello kelvine95 Congratulations on your admission and scholarship. 1) people have been getting responses that took less than 27 weeks. But passport requests for stamping is rare due to the travel restrictions. As at now, only people who got their study permit before March 18 are allowed to enter Canada (there are still other requirements they have to meet) Please consider the option of discussing this with your supervisor, I do not think people would be able to travel to Canada by January (personal opinion) Most winter (January 2021) courses might be held online. 2) building over 4 months should be fine (my opinion) as long as you have a source of income (payslip, employment letter or business registration documents) if there is any lump/huge sum coming in at once, that has to be explained with a proof of where it came from. Some people have been asked for updated bank statement (although it’s not so common) but considering you have just 1.3, what if you remove the 500 and you’re asked for an updated bank statement? 3) if you’re submitting employment documents, please submit a study leave letter too. Otherwise it could be a red flag (my personal opinion) If your previous degree is not related to agriculture, please do well to explain in your sop (statement of purpose) how and why you decided to switch. Please note that just simply stating that you want a change is not enough. State what you have done in the past that’s relevant to the course you’re going for, and how this new course would be an advancement career wise or educational wise. Please note: going for a course different from your previous studies or your employment area without adequately explaining a reason for the switch could be a reason for rejection. 4) Seems fine to me 5) If you haven’t applied already, I would advise you to read this thread carefully from page one until the end. Learn from other people that have been rejected and accepted, so you’ll know how to package your own application properly. Feel free to ask questions if anything isn’t clear. Hello, Sorry to hear about your friend’s rejection. Please share his profile (age, when did he complete his secondary school? what he applied to study in Canada and the level(is it a bsc or a diploma), any study gap since completion of secondary school) Please also state all the documents he submitted. Did he submit any land document, business document for his parents? Who was his sponsor? How much was in his sponsor’s account that he submitted? How much is his tuition for a year? Did he prove his sponsor’s source of income? Eg payslips, letter of employement or business registration documents? When you share the info, gurus would be able to advise accordingly. Also the reasons he was given in his refusal letter is generic. To see the specific cause of his rejection, he needs to order your GCMS notes. To do that, he should google “GCMS notes third party sites” and he’ll see several websites you can order it from. It costs between $15-$20 and can take up to 35 days to be ready. Please tell him to order it immediately. From the notes he’ll see the visa officers concerns and he’ll be able to address it before replying to avoid another rejection. Travel history is a rejection reason that often just goes with the others. It is rare to be rejected solely based on travel history alone All the best to him. FariDk67: |

Hello, Sorry to hear about your rejection. Canadian visa isn’t just about available money. There are many little things that can break or make your application Please share your profile (your age, marital status, number of kids, current employment, what you studied previously and the level; eg masters, diploma, what you applied to study in Canada and the level, any study or work gap) please also state all the documents you submitted. Did you submit any land document, business document? Did you submit your own bank statement? How much is your tuition for a year? What would be left for your husband and children (if any) after paying your tuition and living expenses? Since you used a sponsor, did you prove their source of income? Eg payslips, letter of employement or business registration documents? When you share the info, gurus would be able to advise accordingly. Also the reasons you were given in your refusal letter is generic. To see the specific cause of your rejection, you need to order your GCMS notes. From the notes you’ll see the visa officers concerns and you’ll be able to address it before replying if you decide to reapply. Hello Sirromey, Google GCMS notes. Websites will pop up, you can order from anyone you feel most comfortable with. We’re not allowed to post any third party link so I can’t post any. Meanwhile, you can share his profile(age, course studied previously and level, course applied for in Canada and level eg msc, diploma... , current employment, marital status, number of kids, any work or study gap etc) and the documents he submitted, amount of funds he showed, so gurus can advise pending the arrival of his notes. Hello, Sorry to hear about your refusal. Funds you’re using as proof should be readily available to you, therefore treasury bill is not enough. We have seen on this group that using company accounts can complicate applications but if at all you must use it, then your uncle should get a letter stating that he’s a signatory to this company account and he has access to the money. Also he can transfer your 1 year living expense (at least 10,000 CAD) to your account and state that he has done that in his letter of sponsorship. And you should also attach your bank statement showing the transferred living expense. This will show that you have access to his money. Attaching the source of fund of your uncle is mandatory. His payslip, employment letter or if he’s a business man then his business registration documents from CAC should be attached. Lastly, I would advise you to order your GCMS notes, you can order it online and pay between $15-$20 and it can take up to 35 days to be ready. This note will show the specific reason for refusal. The reason you got on your rejection letter is general. With the GCMS notes, the reason for rejection will become clearer. Please order it immediately and make sure you read the visa officers note on it before reapplying, so you can address whatever concern the visa officer has, so as to prevent another rejection. Just google gcms notes and you’ll see several websites you can order it from. Please delete this picture, take off your UCI number and application number before reuploading. All the best Omolayo02: |

Hello, Are you using a Naira card? Many banks have put the international limit at $100 per month and the visa fee is more than that. That could be the reason why it’s not going through. If you have a dollar account with card, you can try that. Or if you know any bank that has not reduced their limit to $100 then you can try their card. All the best basukajoe: 1 Like |

Hello NwanyiOkpa, Your case has been bothering me. I’ve been checking to see if I could see what went wrong. Since your cousin is your sponsor, did you submit his payslips? Or his business registration docs if he’s self-employed? Basically, did you prove his source of funds? NwanyiOkpa: |

Hello, As far as I know, no school discriminates based on age. Please note: if you are a mature student going for bsc, you’ll have to explain to the visa officer with proof what you’ve been doing (must be meaningful) since the completion of your secondary education. ugolinze123: |

Hello, I can see 88,000 cad with co-op and 82,000 cad without co-op as the tuition for international students. 15m is way too small You need to show tuition for 1 year + at least 10,000 cad for living expenses. rexericx: |

Hello, I still remember your previous questions. I asked some follow up questions but you did not respond. No site is closed. If you have your GC username and password, you can login to your account and see how your application is progressing. Have you given your biometrics? (Finger prints and picture taking) Is this your first application ever for Canada? Did you receive any admission letter and did you see it with your eyes? Are you communicating with this agent properly? Or just saying yes to whatever they tell you? When you asked them for your receipt (if you have asked) what response did they give you? Let’s start from there, so we can find out if you’re being played. All the best Bennysmart: |

Hello, sorry to hear about your refusal. Did you submit any document to show your family is well established? Land? House? Business? Property? An affidavit might help They also want to know your cousins family composition, I think to see how much responsibilities he has. Fixed deposit is not the best. I think having the money readily available is better (my personal opinion) or at least try to get a letter that says when the fixed period will end. jamesobedbaisel: |

Hello, jus to add to what Mr Frank has said. It’s possible to renew your passport when it is still valid for more than 6 months. I know it can be done in Abuja headquarters, I don’t know about other places. You’ll need to write a letter stating why, and attach copies of all the pages of the passport. Even better if you have a connect working there that can fast track it for you. It can take less than a week. I made this info available incase you decide to renew now. Disclaimer: I’m not advising you to renew now or not. That decision is up to you. I only made the info available incase you need it. All the best. Frankrobbn1: 1 Like |
