You hypocrites should stop all these idealistic nonsense. Are the prisoners being paid for coming to prison? How many countries on earth actually pay prisoners for whatever? when did the rot in the Nigerian prison service start?

This case is highly unfortunate because i'm sure some innocent awaiting trial candidates would be there.

RIP to the innocent

Actually, there are quite a lot of countries that pay their prisoners. Google is your best frnd and then thank me later.

The truth is this wee need to help our northern brothers, but instead of giving them fish let's teach them how to fish.

That region is good for wheat production, corn also will do well there, soybean will also do well. .. What am saying is this government should make these people form cooperatives, putting there farm lands together to have a large area were mechanised farming would be profitable..

This how it would work
They come together and form cooperatives (people who have lands together)
Government on there part supplys improved seeds, fertilizers and machines as loans to the farmers
Government also train the people on modern ways of farming to increase yeild

Government offers to buy the products at a fixed price, take the loan and give them there profit

With this they can settle themselves
But we have been helping these northerners since the days of John the Baptist and even all the foreign Aids that comes into the country, the lion shares goes to them. How long shall we continue to help them? Politics / Re: My Dog " Buhari" Went Missing After My Freedom - Chinakwe by chosen6(f): 4:23am On Aug 20, 2016
IGBO TRADER WHO NAMED HIS PET DOG "BUHARI" RE-ARRESTED. The Ogun State Police Command yesterday, said it had rearrested Mr. Joe Chinakwe, who named his pet dog Buhari, noting that the suspect would be arraigned in court on Monday. It also stated that Chinakwe, who was earlier released a few days ago, was picked up again based on its belief that the suspect’s action was capable of provoking an ethnoreligious crisis.

Saturday Vanguard had exclusively reported the three-day detention and subsequent release of the 30-year old after the intervention of the Serkin Hausa and President-General of non-indigenes in the state. He was taken into custody after one of his neighbours, who was later found out to be a Nigerien complained that the dog was named after his father, Alhaji Buhari.

It was learned that the prompt intervention of the elders made the complainant to withdraw the case at Sango-Ota Division. Police sources had earlier told Vanguard that upon his release, the father of two, who hails from Ukwunzu in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State and the complainant were made to sign an undertaking not to cause any breach of peace.

In the light of these, the suspect’s arrest yesterday opened another page on the matter that had aroused public interest. However, the state’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, told newsmen that Chinakwe was rearrested yesterday to prevent the state from being plunged into crisis, adding that the complainant and his sympathisers had threatened to kill the suspect. He further stated that

the suspect was being held at the Criminal Investigation Department of the command, noting that the arrest was done to save Chinakwe’s life. In addition, the Police mouthpiece said the suspect, had confessed that he named his pet dog Buhari and had the name written on the body of the dog. His words: “The man is here with us. He is at the Criminal Investigation Department.

The charge will be prepared here and he will be arraigned at Sango Magistrate Court on Monday. “He is going to court on Monday because what he did was highly provocative.

It can cause an ethnic and religious crisis. We have to be proactive, we cannot fold our arms and allow the state to be plunged into crisis. “In fact, the arrest was made to save the suspect’s life because the complainant and his group have threatened to kill him if he comes back and this may trigger violence”.

Further investigation by Vanguard showed that the Police had not recovered the dog which may likely serve as evidence.

Chinakwe was arrested last Saturday after one of his neighbours complained that he named the dog after his father, Alhaji Buhari.

Lagos ranks world’s 3rd worst city to live in

A report released  yesterday by The Economist Intelligence Unit ranked Lagos as the third worst city to live, maintaining its position at the lowest rungs of the Global Liveability index.

Several other global reports had also said that Lagos, with a population of over 22 million, would in the next few years, become the 4th mega city in the world, with a population of over 30 million.

The city placed 138th out of the 140 cities ranked in the latest liveability survey, just above war-ravaged Tripoli and Damascus.

“Of the poorer-scoring cities, 13 continue to occupy the very bottom tier of liveability, where ratings fall below 50 percent and most aspects of living are severely restricted.

“Continued threats from groups like Boko Haram acts as a constraint to improving stability in Lagos,’’ the report stated.

Escalations in hostilities in Libya prompted a sharp decline in liveability in Tripoli, according to the report, while Damascus, although seeing a stabilisation in its decline, remained rooted to the bottom.

The top five best countries to live in, according to the report, remain unchanged from last year and they include Melbourne, Australian; Vienna, Austria; Vancouver, Canada; Toronto, Canada; and Calgary, Canada.

The liveability survey assesses which locations around the world provide the best or the worst living conditions across five broad categories, including stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.

Lagos scored highest in culture and environment, followed by infrastructure. It scored lowest in stability.

Three other African cities joined Lagos at the bottom rung of the liveable cities, including Douala, Cameroon; Harare, Zimbabwe; and Algiers, Algeria; ranking 132nd, 133rd, and 134th respectively.

While no African city made it to the top 10 most liveable cities, five were in the 10 least liveable cities.

Steve Ayorinde, Lagos State Commissioner for Information, could not be reached for comments last night as phone calls and text messages to his mobile number yielded no response. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/08/lagos-ranks-worlds-3rd-worst-city-live/

Britain is playing double standard they do not want to acknowledge that Nnamdi Kanu is one of their own ( their citizen ) if they take him as a true British citizen they would not have kept silent against all this federal government aggression against Nnamdi Kanu.

You will recall that the United States did similar thing to MKO Abiola the presumed winner of the 1993 Presidential election. But the american kept quiet when abacha throw MKO Abiola to jail. One would have expect the united states that preaches democracy all over the world would have come to the aid of MKO Abiola but the difference was clear american know their true interest.

I think Nnamdi Kanu took a miscalculated risk by entering the shores of Nigeria from Britain he should have known that a man like Buhari and ex-military dictator who is an astute believer in one Nigeria will not allow him to go free.

Militant like Tompolo will be thankful to God for the wisdom God gave him by not surrounding to himself to the federal government.

Keep deciving yourself. FYI, its NK's coming to the country to shame all those that challenged him to dare to step foot into niGERia if he had the guts that did make the agitation one of the most talked about subjects in the world today. Its same this entering that has rubblished the dullard of Daura has a man fall of hypocriscy, who would support right. To self-determination for muslim Palestine and Western Sahara and then turn around to shout ""one united niGERia" when Christian Biafrans are involved. The world is seeing through the hypocrisy and taking note. And offcourse, the support for the dullard and his friends are weaning and very soon, the dullard will know that touching NK was this greatest undoing.

Nnamdi Kanu's father, mother, brothers and sisters are all living in Biafra land. Most of them have joined the IPOB protest on several occasions. Initially, characters like you were challenging Nk to step foot to the Zoo called niGERia if he had the guts.
