Please can someone advise on this?

civac:
@brotimi.
Lastly I have paid my Sevis fee, University of houston, spring session starts second week of January, 2023. The appointment dates that is available for Abuja is from August 2023. I have not even book any appoint yet as I have been searching for closer dates. My question is, should I just go ahead and book any date and then apply for EA or continue to keep searching and hope for closer date?

I don't know if funding can influence EA or not. Just make sure you apply with your SEVIS FEE and write a convincing letter to back up your reason for emergency appointment.

brotimi:
this is information is not detailed enough
I also applied for EA and was approved on October 21 and my start date is scheduled for 5 January, 2023 which is more than 60days.
So let us know
1. the location Abuja or Lagos
2. when did you apply
3. Did u apply with your SEVISFEE receipt and I-20

@brotimi, is it true that having scholarship boost one's chances in emergency appointment approval?

Duisburg:

It's like you have too much money that you wanna waste.

Nobody can get you a closer date here. I repeat, nobody. Don't come back here to start writing an episode of how someone dupes you.

Get to work to get yourself a date. Get added to WhatsApp groups created for this purpose. Keep checking. Also, you can apply for expedient date if your program is very close.

That---and pray you adhere---is the only way to get a closer date.

Please how do one apply for expedient date?

Health / 20 Deadliest Diseases In Human History by civac(m): 9:40am On Oct 14, 2014
From the Bubonic plague to Ebola
Human history is undoubtedly stained with the blood of men, women and children killed in war, but it is disease that is the world’s biggest killer - and it does not discriminate between race, creed or colour. Discover 20 of the world’s deadliest diseases from ancient times to the modern day.
20 deadliest diseases in human history

Ebola
Taking its name from the Ebola River, near which the disease first appeared in 1976, the virus is transmitted from person to person via direct contact with bodily fluids. Symptoms include muscle pain, weakness, and high fever. It has a fatality rate of 90 percent.
Smallpox
An ancient and greatly feared disease, smallpox is fatal in as many as 30 percent of cases. The death toll was estimated at almost 500 million until it was declared eradicated in 1977 after a WHO programme of vaccination.
Yellow fever

Transmitted to humans via the bites of infected mosquitoes, these days Yellow Fever occurs most often in South America and Africa, and WHO estimates that of the 200,000 new cases each year, roughly 30,000 die.

Tuberculosis
Though it typically attacks the lungs, the Tuberculosis bacteria can also affect the brain, spine and kidneys. According to WHO, someone somewhere is infected with TB every second and 1.3 million people died from the disease in 2012.
Measles
A highly contagious respiratory disease, many are successfully vaccinated against measles, but it still rages in parts of Africa, Asia and the eastern Mediterranean, causing an astonishing 22 deaths each hour.
Lung cancer
The most common cancer-related killer worldwide, lung cancer is responsible for 1.38 million deaths each year. According to WHO, smoking is the most important risk factor in 70 percent of deaths.
Cholera
Cholera causes severe vomiting and diarrhoea and death can occur within hours. Most prevalent in countries where access to clean water is limited, WHO estimates that there are some 3 to 5 million cases each year.
Malaria
A mosquito-borne disease, malaria causes severe flu-like symtomps. Without treatment, it can be fatal, with 90 percent of the million deaths each year occurring in children in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Spanish flu

One of the world’s most devastating epidemics, ‘Spanish Flu’ is estimated to have killed between 30 and 50 million people in 1918/1919.
Chronic lung disease

WHO predicts that chronic lung diseases, such as bronchitis and emphysema, will be the third leading cause of death worldwide by 2030.
HIV
HIV attacks the white blood cells that help the body fight disease. The disease can be managed, but AIDS, the final stage of the infection, has claimed the lives of more than 39 million people.
Meningitis
Meningococcal meningitis is a bacteria that infects the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord, and it typically affects those aged one to 30. Even with early diagnosis and treatment, some 5 to 10 percent of patients die.
SARS
Originating in southern China in 2002-2003, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) became a pandemic that spread to 37 countries in just a few weeks. More than 8,000 people were infected, and 774 died from the virus.
Cardiovascular disease

Cardiovascular diseases are now the world’s biggest killer, taking the lives of some 17.5 million people in 2012 - that’s three out of every ten deaths. Over 80 percent of those occur in low and middle-income countries.
Bubonic plague

Bubonic plague earned the unenviable name ‘the Black Death’ when it rampaged through Asia and Europe in the Middle Ages, killing an estimated 25 million, wiping out almost a third of Europe’s population.
Whooping cough

Whooping cough affected an estimated 16 million people in 2008. Ninety five percent of those occurred in developing countries, with some 195,000 children dying from the disease.
Avian flu

Hot on the heels of the SARS scare, avian influenza or ‘bird flu’ comes with potentially life-threatening complications. Since the outbreak in 2003, WHO estimates that of the 421 cases reported, 257 were fatal.
Influenza A-H1N1

More commonly known as swine flu, H1N1 was declared a pandemic in 2009. WHO figures put the estimated number of deaths at 18,550, but it is thought many more could have died as a result of complications.
Leprosy
Historically, leprosy meant life as an outcast, and while it still does in many countries, it is treatable. The slow-growing disease affects the skin and nerves. Almost 250,000 new cases were reported in 2012.
Syphilis
Although easily treatable, this highly contagious sexually transmitted infection can be fatal or result in brain or heart complications if left alone. WHO estimates that some 12 million people are infected every year.

South African Government To Pay All Virgins R200
Every Month In Bid To Fight HIV:

Teenage Swazi girls will be paid R200 a month by
King Mswati’s government if they abstain from sex.
World Bank money will finance the programme that
is intended to reduce HIV transmission in an
impoverished country with the world’s highest HIV
prevalence rate.
“The government will pay girls the allowances so
they will have money to purchase necessities and
can turn down money offered to them for sex,” said
Thabsile Dlamini, a health care worker in Manzini.
The deputy prime minister’s office will administer
the payouts.
A pilot programme will be conducted to test the
effectiveness of weaning teen girls from older
“sugar daddies” who offer money in exchange for
sexual favours.
Details have to be worked out such as how the
girls will be monitored to ensure they are not
having sex.

Celebrities / Re: Google To Shut Down Linda Ikeji’s Blog? by civac(m): 7:12pm On Oct 06, 2014
Still from above source;

Linda Ikeji is said to generate an income from her blog of about $900,000 (N140m) annually. These monies are from advertisements and sponsored posts.

LINDA IKEJI’S mistake?

1. Not incorporating as a business to shield her from personal liability. If she is sued now, her cars, houses, and other personal assets will be hit. Incorporating your business protects your personal assetstisements and sponsored posts.

2. Not having her own self hosted platform. If her violations are where Google believes there is no redemption, since it is claimed there are several authors with infringing works on her platform , then her blog could be deleted by Google, just like that.

Costa Ricans are now the merriest in a list of 151 countries.

The index, compiled by the London-based New Economics Foundation (NEF), is different from the more well-known happiness index issued by the United Nations.
In addition to life expectancy and happiness, the HPI takes environmental sustainability into consideration.
“The Happy Planet Index measures what really matters -- long and happy lives now and the potential for good lives in the future,” said Nic Marks, creator of the index, in a press release.
“For too long we have relied on incomplete measures of progress that focus only on economic activity, such as GDP.”

Central America and Caribbean rule the chart

Costa Ricans are the happiest, live the longest and produce only one-third the ecological footprint of their U.S. counterparts.
Seven of the top 10 countries are in Central America or the Caribbean. The exceptions are Vietnam, which came in second, and Colombia and Venezuela, which ranked third and ninth respectively.
Surprisingly, typical happy frontrunner Denmark ranked 110th.
Despite scoring high in life expectancy and overall well-being, the Scandinavian country is also home to some of the biggest ecological footprint producers on the planet.
The U.K. settled at 41st, ahead of all other G8 nations. The U.S. came in 105th.

With poor performance in all three criteria, Botswana was named the saddest country in the world.

As a current user of 701, I can confidently tell you the phone is good. Infact I consider it the 2nd best symbian phone currently only second to 808 pureview. One of the major reason why I like it is that its relatively very cheap. It offers so much for So little and I don't think its a phone you would ever regret buying.
The display is good, look, feel and form is great and the phone is very snappy.

But I have to ask why your friend wants to sell his. Hope its not faulty.

He is not a close friend but said he jus want to upgrade. is there anything i should look out for?
