Family / Re: Should I Meet Her Biological Father Before Paying Bride-Price To Her Step-father by connkg(m): 4:33pm On Jun 01, 2023
@MetaBroadband,
Congratulations on taking the step. I advise you approach the matter as below:

1) Ensure you visit her stepfather first. I assume you have. Make sure you do not visit her biological father first. After you have been accepted by her stepfather, remain in contact by taking his phone number

2) Seek audience with her stepfather alone. You do not have to meet. You only need to agree on a convenient time to discuss over the phone.

3) Mention that you have come to know that there is a biological father alive. Tell him that you do not know what role, if any, would be played by her biological father. Listen carefully to him. Do whatever he says. If he says he is in complete charge, abort any visit or investigation into the whereabouts of her biological father until after the marriage.

4) Immediately after the marriage, you must now convince your wife of the need for her biological father's blessings. You will be the head positionally now and would no longer require the consent of her stepfather. Visit him with gifts and make apology for the delay.

Above all, God.

Sincere apologies for my late reply.
LASDRI is a 'third-party' document, issued by LASG for drivers of privately or corporately owned vehicles.
You see, vehicle registration for company-owned vehicles is grouped under "commercial". As Ride-hailing cars are usually private but app/ corporately coordinated, I can predict that LASG will fall on the more tax- favoured side.

Once an observation is made, some government officials feel indicted and begin a rather porous defense.

"Steps have now been taken to re-jig..." without elucidation by an officer with a 3-week tenure. Next would be committee forming, contract awarding and the rest of the "due process".

When the results are poor upon implementation, we repeat the cycle.

NARD only? I expect NANS here. All professionals whose fees were subsidised should NOT leave the country. The government also must provide jobs for the physiologists, physiotherapists, political scientists, botanists, educationists, engineers and lawyers. All must work for the government to verify pay back.
Any government worker who goes abroad for any service that could be rendered by these professionals should be made to part with an equivalent of his 2years' pay, to the National Association of whatever professional body.
We can even back date this...

There was an illegal destruction of a building belonging to a widow by LASBCA, shown by ChannelsTV some weeks before the election.
I have been very interested in what became of that case.
I would like to know how relevant it is to this demolition.
Politics / Re: Adamawa: Time To Rejig INEC - Vanguard Editorial by connkg(m): 10:37pm On Apr 20, 2023
INEC didn't even try to transmit results from the polling units in Adamawa.
The argument that they have discretionary powers to 'transfer' or 'transmit' gained so much ground.
Then there's "glitch" and "attack on our server".
They transferred results manually for collation and a result was announced.

Why not upload on the IRev, then collate after verifying Party Agent's signatures?

Thank you, @Charpell

You answered all of my questions. I did not know what an API was.
I do know that a suggestion for another vehicle paper has been raised for ride-hailing cars. (Just like Lagos State cut in with LASDRI for privately employed drivers).
When I think of the database you must hold, I know expenses are high.

Do you mean that you have scaled-back on profit? Does that mean that you would rather go equity than debt? For how long?
I will go back to read what you would be doing differently from GoMyWay.

Good luck, too. I'll keep tracking this. I'll help if I can.

@Charpell
Nice idea!
I do have some questions, though:
1) what governmental agencies will you need to engage with? (Police, Min.of Transport, State Traffic Mgt, VIO)?
2) who verifies the KYC you intend running on? That is, who verifies the NIN, utility bill, company ID, etc?
3) are participants going to rate their cars to select which is best? Also, are participants going to rate their driving skills, to see who's safest?
4) do you know what the financial strain was on the GoMyWay system? Why did they think they had the financial muscle to offer two years free? [As in, how do you pull their investors to yourself? ]

Take your time to respond. You are doing programming stuff I don't know much about.
I hope to give feedback after your response.

YIAGA is asking for an annulment of the announcement and no one is screaming?
Why suspend collation?
Post results from PUs on IREV, they would not. They'd rather differentiate between 'transfer' and 'transmission'.
What is the result of the collation in Adamawa now?
Martians tried hacking it, which caused a glitch?
YIAGA is asking that no one is sworn in from this result. Why is there no chant of "heating up the polity" and "treason"?

I think the salaries of some officials of INEC should be used to conduct a transparent election in Adamawa.

1. What happens, or should happen, when a Party Agent does not sign in agreement? Should the Form be passed onto a superior Collating Officer?

2. What happens when the authentic, filled Form from the Polling Unit is not what is received by a superior Collating Officer, especially when all Party Agents do not sign?

3. Where there are not eighteen (18) Party Agents (for each Party), how does a superior Collating Officer verify how many signatures should authenticate the Form for collation?

4. Why should aggrieved Party Agents be required to submit their complaints at the National Collation Centre, when an absence of the technological upload makes the INEC official the only authenticator? Why not wait for the Tribunal, instead?

5. Why cancel results from Polling Units, but go ahead to submit results to the National for announcement?

6. What is the hope for democracy, when we have conflicting Polling Unit results (Social Media vs. INEC announced)

7. Why should a cancellation from a Tribunal (rather than a pre-conclusive INEC review) possibly distort the efforts of majority of voters?

8. What is the role of the police during elections, seeing as there are already a number of observers? How does their report affect an announced election result?

9. What happens if APC rejects the submission from the South East?

In summary, the deployment of technology to improve processes fail when gaps are executed manually.
Experience from the Officer taken in for questioning on Osun State over-voting has not noticeably improved INEC's performance. A drawn-out legal battle could result.

Family / Re: Problem With My Wife, Mother, And Mother Inlaw. by connkg(m): 1:49am On Feb 22, 2023
@Norah199

Luckily this is simply intertribal, not inter racial.

1. I felt bad for you when I read that the facet of your religious life was largely undefined. Why do you not attend the white garment church? You should define it to yourself and let your wife know. Your wife has met you in that facet and now has to deal with something she didn't need to deal with, when only with you

2. Your wife should be a part of you now. Run the risk of leaving the world first and whether she remarries. That's nonsense. Your Mum proves that your wife could have a son tomorrow and not remarry, should anything happen to you. You are your wife's only defence. Even before the phonecall incident, your wife should have been putting the phone on speaker. You ought to let your Mum understand that you will filter her calls

3. I actually said a prayer for you when I read that "vegetable" imbroglio. I mean, how did your Mum know? Who armed her? You know your Mum. You've known her. News like this aspersion cannot come from you to your Mum. Never.

4. You cannot have cheap peace. You must engage. The mental pressure is great. The skill required is a lot. Both your mothers shouldn't have been together after that painful delivery. Really. I felt there was enough history already, at that point. You have to start seeing "the evil from afar off" better.

5. When you have advanced on these, you can ask your wife for her terms for negotiation. Not for apology, but for negotiation. Know this first. Your Mum is already clear on her terms. Your Mum will not yield. Like someone pointed out, no one has so far been able to rein her in. That means you will reduce the chance of manipulation (sorry about that) by defined distancing. Some topics with her should be off limits or you put the phone on speaker with your wife. She must recognise that you will follow through.

You kept so much back (because I could pick gaps), but you need strength, brother. Your children cannot lose a grandmother after losing a loving and peaceful home.
Politics / Re: TKB417's Presidential Election Analysis by connkg(m): 11:24pm On Feb 20, 2023
We are here today making these predictions without true accuracy because the last elections (in 2019) were postponed.
If the 2019 elections were to have held at the time when they were supposed to, the new factors only thought about would have been inserted to make projections for the 2023 elections.
Let the elections hold this week. It is real events that teach economists, scientists and the forecasters.

Massiveglory:
Alert!! Fake heading!
Tinubu urchn mod has changed the topic of this post.

The SBM permutations had nothing to do with tinubu winning.
They tilted towards an PODATTI win.

Here are their permutations
AA- win 11 states, 25% in 27 states
Emilokan- win 9 states, 25% in 20 states.
PODATTI- win 17 states, 25% in 25 states.

Tinubu was ranked to come 3rd.
It's shameful how the heading was quickly changed.

Talking about the Elections,
I can't really speak for other south west states as I don't know much about them. But you see Lagos, expect something huge.

Apart for 1999, with the then AD, bola tinubu has never won any election in Lagos free and fair.

With the coming of BVAS and the curtail of miscreants activities, expect some shock results in various places especially in the south west and north.

Education / Re: See The Evil Happening In Uniport! by connkg(m): 10:44pm On Feb 11, 2023
I believe one issue the OP didn't comment on is the very poor results of other Faculties sharing this course.
I recall that Faculty of Engineering was even more hard hit in Yr.1 Physics courses than in this Chemistry course (I think only Chemical Engineering took this in the second semester). Overcoming the pre-conception that all visitors from Choba were unserious was a challenge. Coming in late to class was rather common. The irritated lecturers never asked how our timetable looked or how long transporting ourselves in twos took. The carry-over number was large. Surprise tests meant that you could attend the lecture and still miss the tests. Assignments were to be submitted in person, at Abuja Park/ UniPark.
The results were terrible!
On occasion, some Engineering students had different results against their mat. numbers - result at Sciences in Ofirima was different from what came to Choba. Going through our Academic Adviser, Result Moderator, everything we could do was done. Nothing was successful.

Like in many other things in our national life, fighting the system is challenging and best done when majority take it up.

OP, some people will give up. Others will do just about anything. Go through it. Complain. Speak to your Academic Adviser. Let him write any letters.
Above all, God.
It's such a beautiful world out there.
Politics / Re: Soludo Responds To Obidients & Peter Obi by connkg(m): 4:30am On Nov 15, 2022
This is Nigeria, so it's worth it to wait for a denial.

If one doesn't come, Peter Obi is still the candidate, Naptu.
APC is not campaigning. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is, using Lagos State as a manifesto.
Every political campaign of his tries to bring opponents to compete at that level.
"Structure" is feeling food price and fuel price increase.
I dare the FG to re-post anything on Twitter now that Twitter doesn't like.
Do we go onto insecurity, kidnapping or rising national debt?
We need fresh. We need national appeal and national repair.
Peter Obi has legally fought and won, without holding reins and controlling 'strategic' political handles.

Better Labour Party as transit, than the conflict with Alh. Atiku or Gov. Wike in PDP.
APGA would have been as regional as AD and in need of a merger with another regional party.
Peter Obi would not even have been heard.
This is a better way.
Peter Obi is favoured to be in the right place, at this time.
To compare the mileage he brings, to what his party had achieved previously, simply highlights his worth.

Prof. Soludo has his ideas. Let him keep them. He will need them.

Politics / Re: Fuel Scarcity In Lagos: What’s Your Experience? (pictures) by connkg(m): 2:20pm On Oct 25, 2022
Why hasn't someone from the FG denied this scarcity?

They have to deny it first, then rail against hoarding, then promise that there is enough quantity/ trucks for 12months ahead.

Then watch themselves on TV going around for enforcement and monitoring.

Then apologise and tell Nigerians that it would be over soon.

Owners of the vehicles with knocked engines from the poor quality PMS imported months ago are still awaiting the promised compensation... although they have all celebrated their birthdays again, since the promise.

You didn't settle your account that night of the incident.
You kept unsettled and uncleared bills for 2 whole days?!
Settle/ close your account at close of work everyday.
You would have passed that bill to your colleague (for him to have Oga sign off on it) that very night. He would have also followed through the following day, if Oga bailed that night.

Settle/ close your account properly, next time.

Travel / Re: Victims Of One-Way-Drivers Speak, Share Their Pain by connkg(m): 5:36pm On Sep 17, 2022
There are different types of offenders. The type who go against traffic because they are impatient and others who get into 'One Way' because that lane was not properly labelled or they were 5-10minutes behind the switch from double lane to one way.

Imagine teaching someone that a lonely one way street can be distinguished by the direction of parked cars and learning that said person has been caught on a "Two Lane 8am to 3pm only" road sometime before 3:30pm?

There are also cases of deception or following cars in front, because one hopes that an accident or incident situation is being avoided. It is therefore high time to disobey any instruction from a uniformed traffic personnel until you park properly, get down and verify. The burden is all on the driver, so should have a right to be sure he is not being deceived.

Every 'One Way' lane should therefore have standard lettering on the road itself, as well as the closure time, as is done elsewhere.
Car Talk / Re: Lagos VIS by connkg(m): 4:25am On Aug 25, 2022
Why go to their office to contest it?
Why not sue?

There have been payments for wrongful charges, since some will not contest the charge.
If another car has my number/ number plate, the system should be harmonised. I shouldn't also be burdened with the cost of proving my innocence because of an unharmonised system.

Reversed fines, even without punitive charges to the Agency will help. It will balance out any high-handedness from any Agency, as personnel will be forced to accept similar cost responsibility.
