Politics / Re: Apartheid Continues... Security Company Hired To Remove Blacks At A Beach In SA by ContSy: 6:50pm On Dec 28, 2018
Discriminating someone on the basis's of their skin color is wrong. I'm disappointed that you all are pleased to this happen especially to our race. Non the less, Black South Africans don't run away from their problems like other blacks from other countries. They confront them head on until they are resolved.

Politics / Apartheid Continues... Security Company Hired To Remove Blacks At A Beach In SA by ContSy: 5:13pm On Dec 28, 2018
The removal of black beach goers from a popular 'high end' public beach in Cape Town has sparked outrage. A private security company, employed by residents in Clifton (an exclusive suburb in CT), moved in to remove black people from Clifton's 4th beach on Sunday.

In reaction, black South Africans will lead a protest to occupy the beach to reclaim it from whites. The group will also hold a cleansing ceremony which will include the slaughter of a sheep to cleanse the beach of evil white racists spirits. The protest will be lead by a social justice group, Black People's National Crisis. "The offering of the sheep is calling on our ancestors to respond to our trauma at the hands of white people over the years," said activist Chumani Maxwele.

This has polarized the the country considering elections are next year. Unlike other cities in South Africa, Cape Town is governed fully by a party perceived to be a 'white party'. This incident has touted commonly held stereotypes that Cape Town is a racist city and that the DA is trying to bring back Apartheid.

The ruling party ANC has condemned the incident.

zikkmann:
The most beautiful and developed cities in Africa are Cape Town and Casablanca (Morocco). All the North African major cities are more developed than most sub-saharan African countries. In fact, North Africans are Caucasians, not blacks.
By the way, what criteria do you use to measure development? Is it all about a few highrise buildings in a city's business district? No city in sub-saharan Africa is comparable to any of the major cities in the North African countries. Anyone who think otherwise has a limited knowledge of the continent of Africa.

Lol, you obviously have never been to Durban, Pretoria or Port Elizabeth. If you had been to these cities you would know that all these city's have way better Urbanism, cleanliness and orderliness than all North African cities, including Cairo.

LeSudAfricaine:
chilling brutal honesty, hmm. May I ask where are you from?

I'm from Soweto. I don't like the perception that Soweto is far behind in terms of development because its mostly a black township. Soweto isn't even a slum, its 95% brick & mortar houses. There wer more slums before the world cup.

I think the majority of the people need to work on their mindset. Many wait for the government to change their lives. There are so many opportunities but they don't see them. Instead foreigners are seizing those opportunities. Then there are 'black diamonds' who are climbing the corporate larder, many of them move to Sandton as soon as they are well off. I'm one of them, at the moment, I've got one foot in Sandton & another one in Soweto.

The people need to work on themselves, stop blaming the government, whites, Pakistanis, Chinese, Somalis, Nigerians, Zimbabweans when they are the problem.

I'm going to create a post 'South African Ghettos VS Nigeria' to squash the Idea that blacks in SA are riding on whites coattails. We should compare black areas in SA vs Black areas in Lagos. The mall I posted which was developed by Mr. Maponya (a black south african) s#!ts on every mall in Victoria Island. and VI is supposedly the 'Sandton' of Lagos. Lmao grin ... Then again, I'm not gonna waste my time coz Soweto would win on every front. Pictured here is public transport and an up maket mall in VI, you can do the comparison.

New Malls, Theaters, Numerous Public Transport Initiatives (ReaVaya, replacing all unroadworthy taxis with new ones etc). Paving all roads, even the ones that lead to your house, not just main roads, Side walks, street lights. Soweto even has bicycle lanes today, When ANC took over, Soweto was just a dusty township now there is clean water & electricity and all this new infrastructure.

The ANC government has been working very hard to improve the Ghettos as well. They deserve credit.
