Bro, there are various benefits if you insure your car or any property and a claim will be paid adequately.

I'm an insurance professional.

My advice is to get comprehensive insurance and not third party.

Though comprehensive is a bit costly cos it will covers :any damage to ur car,theft,fire,3rd party property damage up to 3m,passengers, medical expenses to 3rd party, death to third party (unlimited but reasonable)Strike riot and civil commotion, flood

But,

Third party only covers other people's property or vehicle up to 3m and not cover you AT ALL...

Thank you.

.[quote author=Bullfallo post=13125414thanks but what is this insurance all about? What are the benefits to motorist in Nigeria if it can cost that much every Year? Thanks.

Many Nigerians believe there are no benefits. Reason why the fake are so rampant. The only reason I would want to do the original is just to remove that name that is there.

Thanks.

It was more of a warning to him.. I didn't neglect him there.. he had access to his phone.. even though as first he wasn't taking my call but I kept texting him..

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Please Help Me Decide On This Present Job Offer by coolbode1: 7:45pm On Feb 04, 2023
DON'T RESIGN UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE OFFER LETTER...., THEY HAVE ALSO DEPICTS THEIR TRAIT WHEN YOU RESUME. THEY WILL MANIPULATE YOUR EMPLOYMENT STATUS AS WELL.... THIS HAPPENS TO ME NOT QUITE LONG.... thank me later
OLDesign1:
Hello nairalander

Presently I'm working with a company as warehouse officer, we work Monday till Saturday including public holidays. I have worked for about 7months with this company...

While working for this company, I have been applying for jobs with high pays and luckily, I got an invite from a skin care production company as an inventory manager, which I went for the interview and I did very well.

The next day, they called me that im really qualify for the job and they will like me to resume with them quickly..

Mind you, im yet to resign from this said company I'm working it, and when you want to resign you must give them three weeks notice..

This new company pay is ok and it's more closer than this place I'm working and the working days is ok too... Working days is just only Tuesday- Saturday..

Now the problem I'm having with them is that, the lady that called me (don't know if she is the hr ) Said I will b on probation for 2months and I will b paid 70% of my salary that after probation, if I meet up with what the company want, that when I will be paid my full salary and given offer letter...

Which I didn't really buy that idea because where I'm working presently, I was given offer letter before I resumed and all this was stated ( probation period and salary)and I wasn't paid 70% of my salary.. but after my probation for Three months, 5k was added to my salary anyway

NB: ( this new place is just 15k higher than this place I'm working )

But I told the lady that I will only resume if I will been given an offer letter which we didn't concluded better on phone.. but I informed the lady I will resume on Tuesday next week... Because she said I should come and talk to the person in charge..

Now I HV made my decision which I'm yet to tell them.. my decision is that... Untill I received an offer letter, dat when I will resign here and resume with them properly and I won't accept the 70% of the salary either 90percent or I should be paid in full... Because this position I'm applying for I already have over 2yrs experience.

Now the question, is it better I tell them my decision when I resume there on Tuesday since I will be talking to the person in charge or I should just sent the lady my decision via email, so as to communicate with the management and let me know their decision...

Which do you think is best to do..

The lady sent me this as written in the company hard book...

Though the salary I will be paid is above 65k

Insurance really works in Nigeria if you go by the terms and conditions of the policy. You can only be compensated if you have comprehensive insurance covering both of you. Insurance pay without stress if you use an insurance broker. The deductibles only comes in if you don't request for it at the inception of the policy. All my existing client policy always comes with excess free....

Pertaining to intentional fraud, live that to the loss adjuster to detect... Left for their competency....

This is commendable. But, I must advice to always go for auto-base insurance from either LEADWAY,NEM or linkage assurance in order to get cover for any own damage up to a specific amount like 500k aside the 1m limit on the third party...

Once again, most people don't believe in insurance in Nigeria when they don't approach a professional insurance broker. They go direct to the insurance company.

You received a policy document without reading the policy wordings and in the event of claim you are knocked off by exceptions in the policy. The next you hear is, "insurance na scam"...

Any way, should in case you have any unsettled claim, feel free to contact me for assistance in any insurance related issues...

You are absolutely correct but let me tell you this, just 40% believes insurance works in Nigeria... I'm an insurance broker by professional. It took me 1 year to tell my friend the importance of insurance, low and behold his car was damaged during the END SARS period, my guy just sent video and pictures..... I told him, don't worry yourself, go and sleep and live the rest to me.... He was compensated after 2 weeks of documentation.

The Nigerian insurance sector is still underdeveloped - it should be booming like the banking sector.

If instruments like the BVN, NIN is available to all, then it should be enforced and compulsory you can’t drive a car without having an insurance.

These are policy that stimulates the economy.

Not only car insurance, there are Health insurance, home loan insurance, etc

Toyota, this is unacceptable!

I bought a new Toyota Corolla 2013 (South Africa) back in 2015. I have since been driving it without issues. However, something mysterious happened on the 3rd of June, 2020.

Thread.

On the day before (2nd of June), I returned home around 7:30pm, and parked the car without any issue. To my utter shock, my neighbours woke me up around 7:00am the following day (3rd June) to inform me that my car was on fire.

It sounded like a joke; for a car parked twelve hours ago to catch fire all by itself. "This has to be a sabotage", I whispered to myself before I quickly got dressed and went to check, and alas, she was on fire!

But my very good neighbours were already ensued in a fight with the fire, and the only thing I did was to open the car for them to finish the last flame with their extinguishers. I'm deeply grateful to their good neighbourliness.

When the emergency was dealt with, I began to search for answers to this mystery, and what I learned was more shocking than the mystery.

My mechanic told me that that particular version (2012-13, South Africa) of Toyota Corolla had a flawed breaking system design, which caused it to catch fire by itself, even if the car was off for a long time.

Not entirely convinced, I called another mechanic for a second opinion, who drove me to his workshop, where he showed me another burnt Toyota Corolla like mine, and told me the same thing happened to her.

He also told me about another one that caught fire in the middle of the night, which eventually burnt another vehicle and an adjoining building. He said "Oga, all countries rejected this car, but Nigeria allowed it. It is sad".
He told me many people were changing the breaking system to American version of the same car.

I have decided to put this here so that others don't become victims of this professional negligence by Toyota, and regulatory failure by Nigeria.

I also want to put this here so that our government will understand the cost of not having an efficient regulatory system for quality and standards.
I also want this here so that Toyota's brand will pay for their design error, they way we paid with our resources (and probably, our lives). This type of error should not be allowed to happen again.

Semab:
Good day house, I have been reading alot of argument about insurance polices and claim payment. I will like to chip in this 2 information that is very key to buying insurance policies.
1. You can either buy your a insurance policies through a registered insurance brokers; Reason is that they serve as an intermediary between you(insured) and the insurer(insurance companies) so they know which company is good and pay claims promptly(most of those marketers are driven by Target and they will not tell you the company they are working with is having challenges). They also help you to pursue your claims and make sure it is paid incase of any eventuality with no cost
2. If you are buying your policy without a broker aside your insurance certificate ask for the insurace policy document, read through and make sure you understand the terms and clauses ( all these clauses and terms comes to play during payment of claims.i.e reductions on figures presented for claims)

I bought another car and just installed tracker. The stress of raising claims here, you would save yourself the time and repair your car.

Besides, in a year, your car may not incur any damage that would require insurance working on it and you will be gifting them free money
