Happy birthday Daddy, U have been a blessing to me, my family, Nigeria and the world at large. I thank God for the grace of God on your life. I want to thank Mummy G.O for all the support she has given you all these years. I wish more anointing, and more grace. You shall finish strong in Jesus name. Amen

I will suggest that this go to the front page. I know majority will question it. But let the message get to everyone again.
Religion / Re: Is Suicide A Sin? by coolotunba(m): 11:21pm On Oct 04, 2012
@omo Alata and Gaggi: You guys are right on the Bible passage. But I believed suicide is of the devil. It is only somebody afflicted of the devil that will think of suicide. But God has always provided a way out any affliction as Paul said. So if because of affliction one commits suicide because he couldn't endure. I think that amount to sin as well. Thats just my cent
Religion / Re: Bible Verses That Bother Me. What About You? by coolotunba(m): 7:21pm On Oct 03, 2012
Why all this thank you and God bless you and still not being able to understand each other.
@God2man: do u think what is in mathew 25: 14-30 does not fit into this discussion. Have u been able to appreciate what Jesus is talking about in the parable of the talent. If those Bible verses you quoted bother you. Why do u think less of Mathew 25: 14-30. Some of us think of ourselves as already doing God's will without looking for God's opinion of us compared with the talents He has deposited in us. If we bury or do not bring to full manifestation of God's talent in us, don't you think we are under serving God and shouldn't that bother us. That is why comparing ourselves with others may not be right, rather with the potential God has given us. Lets use our gifts according to the proportion God has given us and bring fruits unto God. Rom 12:6
Religion / Re: Is Suicide A Sin? by coolotunba(m): 6:18pm On Oct 03, 2012
It is never God's plan for anyone to commit suicide. There is no situation that a genuine repentant and passionate plea to God cannot change. It may take time but note God is looking for a genuine reconciliation from ur heart. As wicked as Ahab was, after killing Naboth over his vineyard. When he showed remorse over what he has done, He was shown reprieve by God. 1 kings 21.27-29. Finally my friend, God said cursed is he that commit suicide. If it is not a sin, God won't say Cursed is he that commit suicide. Deut. 21: 23; Gal. 3: 13. We pray God to give us the grace to run our race.

@Temilolaoluwa: Thanks for such an inspirational post. I have not posted anything on Nairaland for a very long time. The love of the Lord surpass all understanding. I was once living a nice moral life. But let be known that even the most nice and moral person still commit sin and morality is not christianity. I am grateful to God for His love and I am craving for more everyday. Nice thread.

Career / Re: Have You Changed Job Since The Meltdown? by coolotunba(m): 5:40pm On Apr 06, 2010
Is it that bad in the country? Does it mean nobody we know has changed job since the meltdown. It is just unfortunate. God help our dear country.
Career / Have You Changed Job Since The Meltdown? by coolotunba(m): 11:08am On Mar 28, 2010
The current employment situation in Nigeria is considered dire by many. The inability of most corporate organisation to create fresh jobs given the harsh operating environment has ensured a large army of unemployed youths roaming the street. Have you gain employment or change job since August 2009 when five Banks Management were sacked by CBN or know any of your friends who has. What unique selling skills do you think gave them the job? In this period of gloom it will do a lot good to hear tales that will encourage many youths to persevere and pursue their dreams. Two of my friends changed jobs at the beginning of the year. One as a Bid Administrator in an oil service firm and the second as an Account Manager with an IT firm. They do not have special skills except experience in bidding for UN and international agencies contracts and the other having previous marketing experience. So Nairalanders what do you say. Is it all doom in the Nigerian job market? We want to hear the good news too.

Travel / Re: Your Naija Experience During The Yuletide by coolotunba(m): 6:57pm On Jan 11, 2008
@Adekennis
I am still in Naija. I just wanted to know the opinion of my people that were around during the yuletide, those that have been away for such a long time and would definitely have one or two stories to tell on changes they experienced and shocks as well. I am right here in Lagos for now. So please don't cruxify me if I didn't post any tales.

Talk to your wifey again and again and again.  Understand her feelings and you know this is reciprocal- no matter how tough it is for her she will give in unless it  is a medical condition.
My piece.

This thread has degenerated to an avenue for battering, why all this bad belle. I think all these jandhos should narrate their experience, if you feel the poster's submission is contradictory. The truth is that even in Nigeria, some people could go a place like Onitsha would want nothing to do with any other city in Nigeria. It depends on preferences and where you think your interest will better served. Thumbs up to you guys that have made the thread this informative. Please let stop this bashing.
@Vicjustice
Thanks for the piece on Ireland

@Vicjustice,
Thanks so much for your exposition. These pieces of information goes a long way in helping those of us in naija evaluate issues and make decisions better. It seems you are now based in Dublin. And you did not make any statement about Ireland. Can you give us an insight into life in Ireland. Studying, prospects after study, economy and the lot.

The issue is how did you get the invitation, we are all interested in how we too can apply. Please nairalanders when you post your " God has given me a Job" thing; include how you heard about the openning and applied, what you did for the test, what test or interview; how much they pay, just give us details on how others can apply to other companies and save us the wahala of mistakes and frustrations.

The bottom line is let us follow who no road!!!!
