A 92-year-old white woman has been arrested and accused of fatally shooting her 72yr old son who wanted to put her in an assisted living facility, authorities told the Police on Tuesday.

Anna Mae Blessing has been booked into jail on suspicion of one count apiece of first-degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon , kidnapping and possession of Firearm according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Blessing was in a wheelchair Tuesday at her initial court appearance, where her bond / bail was set at $500,000 and a lawyer was being appointed to represent her.

Sheriff’s officials said Anna Mae Blessing’s 72-year-old son was found dead Monday at his home in Fountain Hills, about 30 miles northeast of Phoenix. The man’s name wasn’t immediately released which was instruction coming from the family.

Anna Mae Blessing had been living with her son and his girlfriend for about six months, according to court records.

She told authorities that she argued with her son Monday morning over the way she was being treated and was upset with his stating that he was going to place her in assisted living and she didn’t live it.

According to the court records , Blessing told detectives she got out two handguns she has had since the 1970s — one bought at a gun store and the other obtained from her late husband to protect herself from attacks. She concealed two pistols in the pockets of her robe before confronting her son in his bedroom and firing multiple shots at him with one handgun, investigators alleged.

The gun was dislodged from Blessing’s hand after a struggle with her son’s girlfriend, as well as the second weapon, authorities said.

The unidentified woman called authorities, and Blessing was found on a recliner in the home and taken to the Police custody.

Five Male teachers from the Polytechnic Academic Staff Secondary School Birnin Kebbi were recently fired after they have been found guilty of impregnating some Female SS3 students of the school.

The female student, whose name and age are not disclosed, was also expelled from the school. According to NAN, the decision to dismiss the five teachers followed the recommendation of a committee set up by the school to investigate the matter.

“The committee submitted report on Monday and recommended that all the five teachers should be dismissed from service immediately.

The management have dismissed the teachers and the victim was also expelled from the school. “When the committee interrogated each of the teachers, they confessed that they have been having sexual relationship with the victim separately, so, they were sacked immediately based on the committee’s recommendations”, the source added. NAN also gathered that the affected teachers made an appeal against their dismissal to the school’s management board. The Principal of the school, Muhammed Mahuta was said to be in hospital for weeks before the incident, but his Vice, Oumar Woulandakoye, confirmed the development, adding that the affected teachers had filed an appeal against their dismissal. “I will advise that you should wait till the final report of the School Board, because I just received their memo now that they are going to sit on the matter tomorrow,” he said had earlier reported that a Nigerian teacher in Delta state has gotten enough ill behaviors from boys who have defied every means of being disciplined and has decided to go diabolical. According to reports, some group of boys broke into the school compound and defecated in their classroom. It was gathered that the boys defecated severally in a pupil’s desk and even locked the desk after that. The students of the school arrived the next day to meet awful smell emitting from their different classrooms. The head teacher, joined by other women took the dump outside, poured kerosene on them and set it on fire in the middle of the road.

French President Emmanuel Macron has warned the European Union [EU], against plans to set up migrant centre plans in some Northern African countries.

In a report by BBC News, Emmanuel Macron said that the EU plans to create migrant processing centres in North Africa will not work unless the process is led by African countries working togetter.

During his visit to Nigeria, the French President also gave reasons the migrant processing centres creation will not work in Africa.

The idea of migrant processing centres in North Africa “can fly, just if some African governments decide to organise it which will take time“, he said.

Emmanuel Macron reportedly said many African countries were worried that such centres would act as a pull factor for migrants.

He had earlier told EU leaders that his country France would not host migrant processing centres as it was not a country where immigrants lands, but Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said the centres could be anywhere in the European Union.

At the moment, no African country has agreed to host the centres as proposed by the European Union.

Macron’s take on illegal migration to Europe

Macron told BBC that Europe would be dealing with migration from Africa for decades due to the fundamental problem of unplanned population growth in Africa.

The President also insisted that the European Union could not take decisions and interfere in the decision making for African countries.

He also said his top priority was to discourage people from taking “crazy risks” and putting their lives in danger in order to get to Europe from Africa through the sea.

EU leaders agree to explore the creation of migrant processing centres

In the last meeting of EU in June 2018, the leaders reached a deal after marathon negotiations in Brussels and agreed on exploring the possibility of “regional disembarkation platforms”, designed to thwart people-smuggling gangs by processing migrants outside the EU.

The EU also agreed to set up secure migrant processing centres in EU countries, although no country has yet volunteered to host one;

Strengthening external border controls, with more funding for Turkey and countries in North Africa; and boosting investment in Africa to help the continent achieve a “socio-economic transformation” so people no longer want to leave in pursuit of a better life in Europe.

SARS Arrest 6 men who robbed a Dangote Cement truck

A six-man robbery syndicate which intercepted and diverted a full truckload of Dangote Cement, worth millions of naira in June has been arrested by the Police.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Haruna Mohammed, through a press release announced that the six-man robbery syndicate was arrested at Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State .

Mohammed disclosed this in Awka, saying the suspects were arrested on June 29, 2018, at about 4.30 pm following an intelligence report and formations.

He said: “The suspects intercepted a trailer loaded with Dangote cement along Onitsha/Owerri road on June 9, 2018 at about 3.30am, carting the entire cements in the trailer and throwing the driver to the road side.

“At about 1630hrs, following intelligence report, police operatives attached to the command of Federal special Anti Robbery Squad (FSARS) arrested the following syndicate, Obinna Ibeh (24), Edwin Chibuzor (24), Orji Onyema (26) and Friday Nwankwo (23).”

Mohammed said further investigation led to the arrest of the two receivers of the stolen goods, namely Onuchukwu Chinedu (36) and Eze Levi (38).

He revealed that some exhibits were recovered from the suspects, adding that they would be charged to court for prosecution after investigation is concluded.

USA to deport 7000 ghanaians today

Officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will later today [Tuesday], meet the US Ambassador to Ghana, Robert Jackson, and other officials of the Embassy over the impending deportation of some 7,000 Ghanaians which will happen today


In an interview with Gold News, he said the Ghanaian government must be certain that the deportees are truly Ghanaians before accepting them into the country.


The meeting is aimed at finding a solution to the ensuing impasse between the US and the Ghana government over the issuance of travel documents for some 7000 illegal migrants in the US.

The US government wants travel documents from the Ghanaian government to deport the Ghanaians, but a delay in the process is creating tension between the two countries.

Some have accused the US of trying to bully Ghana by the threat, but according to Ambassador Robert Jackson, the US has fairly engaged Ghana on the matter.

“It is unfortunate that almost 7,000 Ghanaians are facing deportation from the US because they have overstayed their visas or broken US law. We have been working with the government of Ghana my entire time here to repatriate people in the most humane way possible…. I’ve been talking with the government of Ghana about this for over two years. This is not [a] hasty [decision]. I talked to Members of Parliament. I talked to people in in the old government; I talk to people in the current governments. I am acting on instructions. This is not something I am initiating. We will enforce our immigration laws and i have no power to ammend it,” he said.

The Embassy further threatened to impose VISA restrictions on Ghana if it fails to quicken the pace of the process.

We all onced had that one teacher we disliked back in school. However, there was probably nothing we could do about it, but not for these brave little children. A group of primary school pupils have had enough of their lazy teacher and decided to stage a protest demanding for the teacher to be expelled or sent sent off. This rather interesting incident took place at Anuban La-ngu primary school in Satun province, Thailand.

A Catholic Church in has suspended one of its fathers who has recently been in the limelight for rapping in church as a way of preaching the gospel to youths.

Father Paul Ogalo of St. Monica Catholic Church in Rapogi, Migori County , kenya , was suspended on June 3 for alleged misconduct by the Homa Bay Diocese for rapping while preaching the gospel.

Father Charles Kochiel, judicial vicar of the inter-diocesan tribunal of Kisumu, confirmed the priest’s suspension from the church

The church officials took issue with Fr. Ogalo’s style of preaching and suspended him for a year to ‘reconsider his manner of preaching.’
Father Charles Kochiel ,45, liked entertaining his congregation with rap music, which he said he uses to urge the youth to abandon the “evil deeds of the world and turn to Christ.”

“I use the rap music to bring … youths to the church. Thereafter, I bring them to Christ,” Father Paul said during a recent interview.

Father Ogalo also said he uses rap music to persuade young people to shun drugs and instead turn their attention to environmental and social justice issues.

Bishop Philip Anyolo, who heads the Homa Bay Diocese, said the priest has been suspended from public liturgical activities.

“It is true the church has taken a disciplinary measure against him. He is suspended because the use of rap music in preaching is not allowed,” said Bishop Anyolo on Sunday.

But the bishop said Fr. Ogalo has not been barred from attending church services.

“We have just stopped him from preaching using rap to accord him time to change his ways,” said Bishop Anyolo.
The priest’s suspension has, however, elicited sharp reaction on social media.

While some social media users support the church’s decision, others argue it is dictatorial and will drive young worshippers away from the church.

Mr Charles Mulama, a Facebook user, supported the church’s decision, saying rules should be obeyed.

“Catholic Church is known to be …conservative in its doctrines. The priest was wrong in introducing rap in prayer services,” posted Mr Mulama.

Another Facebook user, Mr Otieno Otieno, posted the church risks losing its young followers if it does not want to embrace change.

“The church should just allow Father Massa to use rap to bring more followers. The youth listen well through rap because normal preaching is boring,” he posted.

The plane carrying the Saudi Arabian football team to their next World Cup match caught fire after take off in Russia.

Flames were spotted coming out of the engine before the plane safely landed in Rostov. The team are set to play Uruguay there on Wednesday.

No one was hurt in the terrifying incident earlier this evening.

Female civil servant jailed for duping deaf and dumb man of N1m

A Magistrate court sitting in Iwo Road area of Ibadan, Oyo state capital has sentenced a civil servant at the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Surveying, Mrs Funmi Salako, to two-year imprisonment over a fraudulent deal with a deaf and dumb, Mr.Musibau Ilori. .

The chief magistrate, Mr.Taiwo Oladiran however give her a N60,000 option of fine. Salako was first arraigned before the court on June 5, 2017 on a three-count charge of conspiracy, obtaining and stealing.
The prosecutor, Mr Sunday Ogunremi, told the court that the convict in October 2014 conspired with others to defraud a deaf and dumb, Mr.Musibau Ilori, by collecting the sum of N1million from him under the pretence to help him buy two acres of lands along Oyo/Ibadan expressway. .

Defense counsel to the defendant, Mrs Florence Badmus prayed to court to temper justice with mercy adding that she was the bread winner of her family. The counsel claimed that the convict had already refunded N500,000 out of the money. .

In his ruling, the Magistrate, Mr.Taiwo Oladiran sentenced her to two years imprisonment with an option of sixty thousand naira fine. He ordered the convict to reimburse the remaining of N500,000 within sixty days or serve her jail term.

Morocco FA president said in an interview they felt betrayed by other African countries that voted for the US against them in the 2026 worldcup bid.

Morocco’s hopes of hosting the 2026 World Cup foundered on the failure to secure a united African vote as the country lost in its fifth attempt to stage the global event, the north African country’s bid team said on Wednesday.


Eleven African countries voted for the joint North American bid of the U.S., Canada and Mexico, who will host the 2026 finals after a 134 to 65 vote triumph in a poll of FIFA member associations at the Congress of world soccer’s governing body.

“We were very hopeful but, at the end of the day, if you lose a certain number of votes from your own continent, and from some of our Arab brothers, who flipped coins, then you have no chance,” said Morocco bid ambassador .NAN reports that Morocco lost the hosting rights to Canada, U.S. and Mexico, who presented a tripartite bid. Morocco polled 65 votes against 134 votes polled by the three North American nations to emerge winners. The voting which was done at the 68th FIFA Congress in Moscow had 200 out of 211 FIFA member-nations participate in the balloting. The 2026 World Cup will be the largest senior global soccer fiesta with 48 countries playing in 80 matches. (NAN)

Here are list of the 11 African countries did not vote for Morocco to host the 2026 World Cup.

They are: Benin, Guinea, Liberia, Mozambique, Namibia, Sierra Leone, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
Botswana, Cape Verde and Lesotho are the African countries that refused to vote for Morocco in it’s 2026 worldcup bid.

Real Madrid hired Spain national team coach Julen Lopetegui as its new coach on Tuesday and will take over duties once the World Cup is done.

But back in November, Lopetegui ignited the debate about who the world's best soccer player is.

That debate usually focuses on Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo, who have led Los Blancos to three straight Champions League titles.
"Messi is the best player in history," Lopetegui said. "He has extraordinary players and a coach who has given him a plus".

France forward Kylian Mbappe had to leave training early on Tuesday after being injured in a tackle with defender Adil Rami.

Mbappe, 19, hurt his left ankle and went back to the dressing room rather than continuing the session with his teammates according to L'Equipe.
Earlier this week the PSG winger played down the "knock" he received in Les Bleus' 1-1 draw with the United States in their final World Cup warmup on Saturday, while coach Didier Deschamps spoke out in defence of goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris following his error in Lyon.

Mbappe scored the leveller after being teed up by Stuttgart's Benjamin Pavard and was nursing a knock by the end of the encounter, which he insisted is nothing to worry about ahead of the trip to Russia.

"Ice packs? No, it is just a knock," Mbappe said. "I hit the ball poorly and I fell -- it is nothing serious. It will be treated, and it will go away."

Marcus Rashford has handed England an injury scare ahead of the World Cup.

Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate confirmed the Manchester United forward is his only injury concern heading into the tournament, after he picked up a 'slight knock' in training on Monday.

Rashford flew out to Russia with the rest of the squad on Tuesday afternoon, and is a doubt for their first World Cup training session on Wednesday.

Speaking after his side landed in Russia, Soutgate confirmed the news.

“Marcus (Rashford) took a slight knock, but nothing too serious, we’ll look at that ahead of tomorrow’s session which is open for everybody to see."

Rashford starred for England in their preparation for the tournament in Russia, scoring a brilliant long-range effort as they defeated Costa Rica at Elland Road last Thursday.

WORLD CUP-BOUND Oghenekaro Peter Etebo has today become Stoke City’s first signing of the summer.

The 22-year-old midfielder, who will be a member of the Nigeria squad in Russia, has signed a five-year contract after the Potters paid Portuguese side Feirense €7.2million.

Chief Executive Tony Scholes said: “We are delighted Etebo has chosen to join Stoke City, becoming our first signing of the summer.

Etebo spent the second half of last season on loan with Las Palmas in La Liga and will be heading to England after the World Cup.

Manager Gary Rowett said: “We’re really excited to have got the deal over the line for Etebo. I’m looking forward to seeing him in a Stoke City shirt as I’m sure our supporters are too.

“Etebo is a very mobile, energetic midfielder and he’s a great age. He has played in the top divisions in Portugal and Spain and, of course, he’s heading into the World Cup with Nigeria which will be an amazing experience for him.”
Etebo has been capped 14 times by Nigeria and came on as a substitute in last week’s friendly against England at Wembley.



He will be part of the Nigerian squad that will face Group D World Cup games against Argentina, Iceland and Croatia.

Etebo, who started his career with Warri Wolves in his native Nigeria, joined Feirense in 2016 and made 45 league appearances, scoring seven goals. He made 12 appearances for Las Palmas whilst on loan with the team from Gran Canaria.
