Travel / Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Dasilva100(f): 3:36pm On Jul 11, 2018
Good day all,

Please I need your input concerning these:
My sister wishes to visit Canada before the end of this year to visit my brother who has a work permit in Canada. My brother stated in his invitation letter that he'll be responsible for all the financial commitments and accommodation. Please I'll like to know if this will likely raise a red flag. Actually, my sister is employed and has an account balance of over 2M. In other words, she can fund her trip. But my brother chose to sponsor the trip because he is the big brother.

Also, apart from my brother who my sister intends visiting, we have two other brothers in canada- one a PR and the other on study visa while I am a PR applicant. Please do you think all these will work against my sister's visa application?

Thanks all

Thanks @ justwise. Visa granted.

You stand a good chances because your case is a bit different regarding 3months bank statement.

1. You came back without overstaying your visa and got a job

2. You are not going for a visit but for a graduation(an award ceremony)

3. You graduated with a good result and will be specifically recognized during the graduation ceremony.

So yes you need to mention the fact that you graduated with first class and attach your certificate and graduation IV.

Look for a cheap ticket so as to reduce your overhead cost of the trip.

Webmank:
@brightingsus&bigbus,i have 6months visa already.but on my application form i wrote 2week but now d ticket she sent 10th oct to 7th nov..maybe i should ask her to reduce the stay to 2weeks?thanks for ur responses

Please ask your sister to reduce the ticket date to two weeks. My brother was held at POE for 4hours for this reason. He was almost sent back home. He got away with it because he schooled in the UK, had visited the UK several times and never overstayed for once. Your case may be different.

Good day all,

Please I have an enquiry. I completed my masters degree in the UK in October 2016 and returned to Nigeria February 2017 before the expiration of my study visa. I got a job in June 2017 and so, I have been in employment for 3months (with only 3months payslips).

I intend going for my graduation in November and don't intend spending more than £1000 since I'll be staying for about 4-5days.

Will like to know if I stand a chance with my application especially with the 3months payslip issue. Also, will it do any good to indicate that I graduated with a distinction and it would be an honour to be physically present to receive my award.

Will appreciate any response please.
Thanks
