Religion / Re: Five (5) Misconceptions About Jehovah's Witnesses. by davidel: 4:17pm On May 31, 2020
We are Jehovah’s Witnesses, we do our best to apply what the bible teaches in our daily lives, though it’s not always easy, but with persistence in adhering to the teachings of Christ, we become matured Christians who through the study of the bible is able to distinguish both right and wrong. Some of you are pointing to a few Witnesses you know who is practicing something wrong, you should know that no religion on earth can boast of having a 100% dedicated and faithful worshippers; we only pray that in time, these ones will find their footing in the Christian Faith. As regards those who go to heaven to rule with Christ over those on the earth, it is only Jehovah and his Son Jesus Christ who select these ones and they have a role to play in the outworking of God’s purpose for mankind to live in peace and security, a life where death will be no more, not even sickness or disease of whatever kind. The majority of mankind will receive the gift of everlasting life on earth. While those in heaven will rule over them because they are kings and priest to our God. Blood transfusion is a no for the life of every living thing is in its blood. If bloodless surgery cannot save me and I die, I have hope that I have kept the faith till death and I’ll be resurrected to life everlasting when this earth is turned into a paradise. Death does not end my life, because I will definitely live again. Instead of putting faith in musa’s blood to save my life temporarily, I’ll rather put faith in Jesus shed blood which paid the price for my sins and gave me the opportunity to have a clean standing before God and man. I wasn’t born a JW, I embraced the faith...and there is nothing in this world that can separate from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus as preached to me by the JW’s. And I must say I have never lived a better life until I became one of the witnesses. I live a simple life without much pressure. My father died in 2002 and while on the hospital bed, he was given blood because my family isn’t a witness family, and then I wasn’t a witness, but still he died in that hospital from what the doctors called haemorrhage. Blood did not save him, point to note, I’m not undermining the fact that blood transfusion saves life temporarily, but what if that was just another crime against God? I’m not trying to convince anyone , I’m just happy to be a JW.

geobukky:

Take 3000 EUR, things are quite expensive here and you don't wanna be stranded. And they even ask some people at immigration of the amount you carry (they don't ask everyone but they do demand €3000 for sighting)

Thanks geobukky for your response; please can I carry the dollar equivalent of 3000 euro as I can't source for euro at the moment. Also, what do I need to bring along e.g clothing, food items etc

Carry between €2000 - 3000; do you have a place to stay? If no, ensure you book a temporary accommodation with the numerous hostels around.

Yea am staying at the school's accommodation. And thanks for the info.

Hello all,

I landed today. The experience so far has been cool save for the high exchange rate. The weather has also ushered me into Europe. I was told winter is more severe than this. I believe I will cope when it comes.

I urgently need a shared accommodation around UCD so that I can settle in quickly. Most landlords that I have called so far said the vacancy they advertised is gone.

I am presently around city center -Low Gardiner street off Parnell Street.

Regards.

Please I just got my irish visa and would be travelling to dublin soon. I want to know how much money I will need to carry along for the trip. And what currency do I need to travel with? Please I need your urgent response on this.

Thanks

Religion / Re: Why Don’t Jehovah’s Witnesses Celebrate Christmas? by davidel: 9:49pm On Dec 25, 2016
Matthew 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

whose commandment is xmas celebration? Christ? Certainly not! It's just the commandment of men made to excite the large number of christians who care less about what the scripture says. Christians claim xmas is a time to show love but my question is, "What happens to the other days"? Must we wait till december 25th before we can show love and affection? The best way we can show love is to help someone know the true God and get everlasting life in the long run. So brothers, spread the kingdom good news far and wide, never loose track. Everlasting life awaits us in God's new world.

Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Quoting from the king james version, Jesus specifically asked his disciples to teach people to observe all the things he commanded and he will be with them till the end of the world.

You will all agree that christmas was not in any way part of the things Jesus Christ commanded us to observe.
