There is no room but skepticism or negative thoughts when you are given the chance to do the things you love and still get paid greatly for it. That pretty much sounds like dream which can come true for women who aren`t afraid to take risks and take life by the gut.

Laurence Shatkin also advices women to take up manly jobs which empower the person and offers a great boost of confidence, while still defying sexism.

Getting a job can be hard, but choosing a career can be even worse. A lot of people don’t know the difference so let me go ahead and clear up any confusion. A job is usually a dead end position that pays your bills. A career is to a job like superman is to Clark Kent. Not only does it pay your bills, it offers the chance of advancement, higher pay, and acts as a lifelong support system as you make your way up through the company. It’s the difference between being a firefighter and being a dog walker. Though with a little innovation and hard work even dog walking could turn into a multi-million dollar industry. However for the purpose of this article let’s just assume that such a thing is extremely unlikely.

Anyway, careers usually require that a person have some sort of education or training. The trick is determining what career would be right for you. The decision can be daunting but there are a few key points that you need to consider that should help make things simpler.

The first question to put to yourself is whether or not money or personal development is the most important aspect to you. For instance, accounting could bring in a lot of money and you have the potential for real growth in a field like that. But if you love writing, then you may want to try and immerse yourself in the publishing world instead. Success may be slower in coming, but it would be a more emotionally satisfying position.

Other things to consider include what is it that you hope to learn or accomplish? Do you want to be the head honcho or the man behind the scenes? What could a career in (insert chosen field here) teach you and how can you use that knowledge? So really picking a career isn’t about choosing what company would pay more, though that could certainly influence your decision.

What’s great about choosing a career is that once you get the ball rolling you don’t have top worry about what your next job is going to be or how you’re not making enough money or getting any benefits. In addition to all of that, a career is usually the perfect avenue for people to make choices based on the things that they love to do and not just on what would be the most beneficial.

A 12-year old boy named Samuel was burnt alive at Bank-Olemoh, Olawale area in Lagos. He was accused of luring a school child with #50. An allegation he denied till death.

The discovery of the horrifying video of a 12-year-old boy being lynched has led to a group of Nigerians launching a new online campaign against “mob justice” aimed at all Nigerians called “Don’t Walk Away”.

Mob injustice is still very common in this part of the world with multiple incidents yearly, so the campaign is a welcomed development and even long overdue .

A teacher, simply identified as Funmi, has been arrested in Lagos State for allegedly inserting a fork into a toddler’s private part.

The act was uncovered when the toddler got back from school crying and all efforts by the mother to pacify her were in vain. The mother was said to have taken her to the bathroom for a shower but the little girl wept profusely when she was about to wash her private part. The mother took a closer look but could not ascertain what was wrong until the child alleged the deed done by one of her teachers in school.

On getting to the school, situated around Ilupeju, all the teacher denied. They were all later paraded before the toddler to identify the culprit and she pointed to Funmi as the perpetrator of the act.

The case was charged to a special court after medical examinations proved that the little girl’s hymen was broken.

Two female corp members serving in Community Secondary school, Iddo, Asari-Toru LGA in Rivers State were severely burnt by one of the victim’s boyfriend.

This incident happened on the 19th of July 2013.

Amarachi Okey Winifred, one of the victims whose boyfriend committed the act, is a batch C corp member while her yet to be identified friend is a fresh batch B corp member who just reported to her PPA from camp,barely weeks before the incident.

At first, it was believed that boys and students from Winnie’s PPA ( Community Secondary school, Iddo) perpetrated the crime. The story however took a twist when it turned out that Winnie’s boyfriend burnt her to death because he assumed she was cheating on him with her fellow corp member and housemate.

A court in Dubai was told that a pregnant teen was still virgin, according to court proceedings…

That was the medical diagnosis of a Dubai doctor tendered at the trial of a 15-year-old teen girl, who was accused of breaking the country’s severe Islāmic rule against pre-marital sex.

The girl who was identified just by her initials MM was checked out and has since given birth to a baby girl, a local paper reported.

Testifying against the doctor’s report, MM told prosecutors that she had s*x with her 17-year-old boo, also known by the initials YA, on several instances.

“I met him through the internet and fell in love with him,” the girl said. “We have had many dates in my family’s house in Oud Mutaina, Dubai, and had sēx in my bedroom after my parents fell asleep. He had full sēx with me three times and when I told him I was pregnant, he didn’t care.”

A middle-aged man who hid under the cover of insanity to carry out his nefarious activities was beaten to a pulp, then set ablaze by a mob at Odota area along Airport Road in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Sunday evening. The victim, who acted mad to avoid detection, was nabbed while trying to abduct a nine-year old child.
When interrogated, the suspect, who identified himself as Raimi Wasiu, a native of Osogbo in Osun State, confessed to being a kidnapper alongside seven others and blamed economic hardship for his predicament. He was also said to have confessed to be working for an Islamic cleric who lives around Hajj Camp, Ilorin.
An eyewitness disclosed that “People of the area have been watching the man who lived in an abandoned building by the roadside. And true to their suspicion, he was caught attempting to abduct a little child”.

The mob, after dispossessing the victim of charms, rings and amulets, set him ablaze.

A female National Youth Service Corp member ,identified as Juliet Okorocha, has been reportedly killed when a speed boat conveying eight passenger capsized at the Igbokoda waterways, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo state.

Reports coming in say that the deceased and other passengers of the capsized boat boarded at Ilepete on a yet to be identified mission.

Efforts are still on to recover the body of the corp member.

Marine security operatives are working at the scene of the accident to recover Juliet’s body. The seven other occupants survived.
