Health / Re: Help! My Daughter's Incurable Skin Irritation ( Disturbing Images) by DayTrader: 11:35pm On Nov 17, 2021
In my opinion, it's not a skin disease but more of a viral infection. From the pics I would suggest its Monkeypox. The virus of monkeypox are found in central and west Africa.
From what I know the is no known cure for Monkeypox but antivirals, smallpox vaccine or vaccinia immune globulin(VIG) have been used in most cases to treat the virus.
Travel / Re: Poland Or Germany Or Canada, Which One's Best? by DayTrader: 9:58pm On Jun 08, 2021
Well I would advise you consider Poland if you plan to study medicine or engineering. If you learn Polish and pass the entry exams, studies are free in all National universities in Poland but you would have to pay for courses you have to retake . However, most National universities offer studies in English but then you would have to pay for your studies.
There are a number of private universities but if you are interested in studying the sciences, I would always advise to study at 1 of the national universities as the private universities can't compare in standards.
If you have done your research, you should be aware that Poland is categorized as a 1st world country as of July 2018 because I read someone on this forum called Poland a 3rd world country (that level of ignorance is shocking). After Poland was able to shake off communism in 1989 (that's just like getting independence), it took only 32 years to elevate Poland, the first time in nearly a decade that a country has been promoted from an “advanced emerging” economy to a “developed” one in the FTSE ranking. The ranking considers various criteria, including the quality of a country's market, consistency and predictability, stability, market access, and the cost of implementing economic changes.
Why is that info important? well for the simple fact that it shows how easy it is to get a job in Poland now a days. Poland has the lowest level of unemployment in the EU and large numbers of Hindus and Ukrainians are invited yearly to work as Uber/delivery drivers.
The economy is booming even in these days of lock downs and just as an interesting point every parent gets a monthly allowance of 500pln(100USD)/per kid irrespective of their level of income.
About racism...well with the current tribalism in Naija, makes racism in Poland look like child's play.

Ps: I would have supported but you chose wrong.

Car Talk / Re: Volkswagen Reopens Assembling Plant In Nigeria, After 20 Years by DayTrader: 7:30pm On Jul 12, 2019
rentAcock:
I think its time we do away with dual citizenship. If you are a citizen of a foreign country either by birth or naturalisation you should be forced to denounce your Nigerian citizenship as it is technically unfathomable to have the best interest of two countries at heart.

Nigeria is slowly but surely progressing and one day, it will undergo the same scale of economic growth and prosperity that China has enjoyed over the last 30 years. All those who ran away and abandoned Nigeria for greener pastures abroad, will be the same ones begging to return for better opportunities.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

That would be a great pity as dual citizenship has a lot of positive things to give the next generation.
Why not start now, go and tell Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua that he is not Nigerian...LOL

Unfortunately what atheist tends to do is ignore all the signs and creations of GOD and give credit to something else for it. They see the night and day a major sign from GOD and they say that this is nature, so who started the nature?
I really hope you don't believe in what you wrote about 'Night and Day being a sign from God'
And No! Nobody says 'Nature created Night and Day'. That's so 15th century, now a days we know for sure that the universe in which we live in today was created by the Big Bang.

The Good Book.

A name or misnomer for the Bible?

Probably a misnomer.

There are good stories in the Bible - I particularly like the part where Mary Magdalene gives Jesus head and almost gets stoned for it. The crowd had gathered, stones in hand , ready to toss them at Mary the Magalene. But Jesus likes his bitches, and he averted the mob action by reminding everyone 'no hands were clean.'

But the Bible is also filled with horrible stories too. Take for instance, the Book of Revelations. That book's a record of a man's psychotic episode. Nigga John of Patmos was dropped on an island to die and suffer. God knows what twigs, fruits or leaves he must have eaten, but that nigga got high as Bleep... My God... Have you read Revelations.. Its got bears with lion chest, frogs with zebra laps....you should go through it.. There's even a lion whose head is on fire for some reason...

David slaughtering men, and taking their foreskins as dowry for his wife. Lot, raped by his daughters. Mary, raped by the Holy Spirit. Jesus, flogged and beaten by his people. The ladies who boiled a kid for breakfast....nna eh, whats good about this Book?

angry

I feel you are going about being this whole Atheist thing the wrong way.

You attack religion in you search for an understanding? What is the understanding you are looking for?
You read the bible maybe you understood it, maybe not?
I’m not laughing, the bible is a hard read. Especially, if you are looking for answers to your questions concerning simple daily observations but the answers you seek are not clear in the bible?
As young kids it’s only natural we ask questions? Simple ones at first like, Why Did God Create the World? Are all snakes, devils? Where is the garden of Eden?
I remember asking why the was no mention of dinosaurs in the bible to which I was replied ‘Most Bible experts believe dinosaurs died out before the great flood and wouldn’t have been around to put on the ark. Another reason we don’t read about dinosaurs is because the Bible is not a science book, it talks about people and God’s plan for our life.

If you had the opportunity to grow up in Naija, you are introduced to other religions apart from family religion quite early. In my case the next major religion was Islam. Hey! I thought maybe I would find my answers in the Koran I thought. Another hard to understand book, especially if not read in its original language.
But as was the case with the bible any of my more complicated questions eg. How could God physically have created the universe in just a week? How old is the universe? If God/Allah is everywhere why does he let bad things happen?
To all these questions I always heard…… “you lack faith!”
No one, could give me a satisfying answer to How and why are we here on this earth?

My advice is to look for the answers you seek else where than religious books.

The process you are going through has happened in history of the world, it’s called Enlightenment. The age of Enlightenment was an intellectual and philosophical movement that dominated the world of ideas in Europe during the 18th century. Google it, it’s an interesting read.

Food / Do We Eat Donkey Meat In Nigeria? by DayTrader: 10:43pm On Nov 12, 2012
I just read this article on the bbc about some Alhaji that runs a Donkey market and the meat is sold for consumption

"A top trader at Nigeria's biggest donkey market has been abducted by gunmen, a police spokesman says.

Al-Haji Salisu Yunusa's abduction led to the brief closure of the 80-year-old market in the south-eastern town of Ezamgbo, a BBC reporter in Nigeria says.

His kidnappers are believed to be demanding a ransom, our reporter says.

Some 200 donkeys are said to be slaughtered at the market's abattoirs every day for human consumption.

Police spokesman Sylvester Igbo said efforts were being made to secure Mr Yunusa's release.
'Thriving market'

The BBC's Abdussalam Ibrahim Ahmed in south-eastern Nigeria's Enugu city says he understands that the abductors are demanding 300m naira ($1.9m; £1.2m) in ransom.
Map

However, there is also speculation that Mr Yunusa, whose origins lie in northern Nigeria, may have been targeted in revenge for the killing of southerners in the north.

Gunmen seized Mr Yunusa - one of the leaders of the market - as he was driving to his home on Friday evening in Ezamgbo in Ebonyi state.

The market was shut on Monday morning as traders protested against his abduction, our reporter says.

It reopened later, as traders feared that its closure could cause tension and complicate efforts to secure Mr Yunusa's release.

Buying and selling donkeys and donkey meat has been a thriving business at the market since it opened 80 years ago.

About 20 trailer-loads of donkeys are dropped off at the market daily.

The market is run by northerners who sell donkey meat to people in the south-east who eat it.

Customers from other south-eastern states also travel to the market to buy donkeys and their meat, our reporter says"

My question is... Is donkey meat eaten down south? because even though I have lived there for sometime I never heard of it
Health / Re: Seun Kuti Campaign To Legalise Marijuana by DayTrader: 3:46pm On Nov 10, 2012
I stand for legalisation of Mary Jane, I have read alot of comments here saying if legalised all our primary kids would start smoking. A question for thought as alcohol and ciggarettes are legal are our children in primary school all drunk and smoking?
Legalisation is the only way of fully controlling its use, to an extend that is. I would place an age limited on who could buy it and that is 21 years old. why 21? cause you are more matured and can learn to appreciate the good things in alcohol and mary j at this age and have developed a better understanding of responsibilities to yourself and others, off-course there are people who are exceptions to this rule but God diidn't create us all perfect.
Is marijuana addictive? There are no easy answers to this question. In my opinion, the most unbiased book on this and other related topics is The Science of Marijuana (2008). The Science of Marijuana is written by Leslie L. Iverson, a professor of pharmacology at the University of Cambridge in England. In the book, he reviews decades of international research on marijuana, both laboratory research and survey research. Based on his review of the scientific literature, between 10 to 30% of regular users will develop dependency. Only about 9% will have a serious addiction. Based on this research less additive than ciggarettes or alcohol.
The main reason the governement should look into its legalisation is that even as we sit here debating this topic Igbo can be easily bought by those of us who know where to look, I would like to emphasize on the word easily. That is revenue the govenment is easily losing daily by legalising and taxing igbo the governement can count on taxes that would be of the same scale if not more than from cigar and alcohol.
As for the side effects of Igbo there is no difference than the side effects of alcohol but you have to no what your limit is thats why education is needed, just like alcohol don't smoke and drive, if you know all u need is half a joint to get to your limit, don't smoke the whole joint. I could go on and on but I think Seun I would sign sign Seun's campaign although with the kind of governement we have in Naija, I don't expect any sensible converstion to be ever brought to the table

solbil: all of you who are saying that lawrence onoja (a respected general who fought for the unity of nigeria in the civil war and also saved the igbos from making the bigest mistake of their lives) is this and that, are either anti idoma or you simply failed english lang in your waec becos of your inability to understand comprehension passage. How else can we explain your inability to read what the highly esteemed man said and come to see that he was only advicing BH to stop killing inocent people and poliTRICKcians to stop malpractice.
OK you are the only 1 that passed your English WAEC good for u. So why didn't the general advice the way you have put it by simply saying BH to stop killing the innocent (come to think about who is this General to decide who is innocent and who is not), or is he speaking A-level English and the normal people show read between the lines. My friend get a life and stop kissing butt and if you are the general's lawyer advice him to speak the type of English the masses can understand without the need of you to interpret his words to us.

Family / Re: Pain & Mercy! My Husband Had Vasectomy Because Of Me by DayTrader: 4:30pm On Sep 01, 2011
HE AGREED and had  the procedure done
Now he wants more children. Sometimes I think I want more children too-- and he now says that I FORCED HIM to go to the doctor for his procedure and has been very BITTER toward me.
HE WILL NOT CONSIDER ADOPTION.

1st he agreed, then he blames u that u forced him (I wonder how u did that), you're not sure if you want more kids but you want to raise the funds to have it reversed. The only thing you are sure of is that adoption is not an option, it does not take a shrink to point out that it's not having more kids that is causing the stress in your relationship.

Business / Re: Pls Can Somebody Help With Making Money Online. by DayTrader: 11:53pm On May 31, 2010
The only way you can actually make it on the internet is by investing your seed money in a viable firm and allow the element of time to multiply

your investment for you. When i say time, i am referring to a minimum of 1 year

Please, how can you say this is the only way, this is some form of investing in funds, stocks, bonds, options etc. Yes, this is a way to make money over the net but not the only way. Let's be serious, you would actually place your capital in a long term fund in today's markets. When the world is just trying to get out of a rescission. When everbody knows that the most profits are in short term trading  with today's market conditions. The markets are so volatile, that your best option is to hold onto cash.
Last week the markets had a big correction the dow lost more than 12% last week alone, with cash you bought when this happened and sold on the rebound that happened 3 days ago. Clean 10% was made in 2 days, if you invest in emerging markets like I do it was 17%. So, why put money in a fund for a year.
If that is the type of income the poster is looking for please let him buy the financial times and read about investing first.
I just want to point out the your method is not the only method. Apart from that I see it has flaws anyway
Business / Re: Pls Can Somebody Help With Making Money Online. by DayTrader: 9:46pm On May 31, 2010
The first step is to have something posted on the blog, just start something first. The easiest start a blog, don't think about the topic of the blog or the product you want to sell JUST do something on line. Go to blogger.com or wordpress and start your blog on anything. Get use to the features of blogging, these are new skills that you have to get use too before you  implement them to making money.
You are still thinking ok, I will help you. Start a blog on your local shop or joint where you drink beer, write an article about it. Then come back and post when you are done.
I would guide you, to the next steps here, on this forum. I am not asking you to pay for anything, or sign up to anything.
Seriously, I am just tired of reading posts on NL of people asking for help (I was one of them once) and people asking them to pay up first.
Business / Re: How Can I Make Money Online by DayTrader: 9:24pm On May 31, 2010
The very first thing to do is to start. Do not think of the topic or what your blog is going to be about all this would come later. Learn the skills first about blogging, what is the point knowing how to make money from a blog when you don't even have one. Sign up to blogger.com or wordpress and start. When you have done that come back and post that you have and I would show you the next step.
I have many friends saying they want to make money from a blog and how can they make money.when I start talking about using a capture page more effectively they have no idea what I am talking about.
So your first step for tonight open a blog don't think about the topic, about a product I promise, I would show you all that later. JUST OPEN A BLOG

Foreign Affairs / Re: Breaking News: Polish President Feared Dead In Russian Plane Crash by DayTrader: 6:01pm On Apr 13, 2010
What really makes this a bad and sad event, is that the polish president was going to attend a ceremony honouring the victims of a mass murder that took place 70 years ago. The Katyn massacre, also known as Katyn Forest massacre, was a mass murder of more than 20,000 Poles consisting of doctors, professors, lawmakers, military officers, intellectuals, police officers and other public servants by Soviet NKVD(the secret police of the soviet union), based on a proposal from Lavrentiy Beria(head of the Soviet secret police) to execute all members of the Polish Officer Crops. Dated 5 March 1940, this official document was then approved and signed by Joseph Stalin.

Nazi Germany announced the discovery of mass graves in the Katyn Forest in 1943. The revelation led to the end of diplomatic relations between Moscow and the London – based Polish government in exile. The soviet Union continued to deny the massacres until 1990, when it finally acknowledged the perpetration of the massacre by the NKVD, as well as the subsequent cover-up. An investigation by the Prosecutor’s General Office of the Russian Federation has confirmed Soviet responsibility for the massacres, yet does not classify this action as a war crime or an act of genocide. This acknowledgement would have made necessary the prosecution of surviving perpetrators, which is what the Polish government had requested. The Russian government also does not classify the dead as victims of Stalinist repression, which bars formal posthumous rehabilitation.

On that plane that crashed were relatives, sons and daughters of some of the victims killed in that massacre. They died in the same place as their fathers and uncles had 70 years ago.
This is such a touchy story are more can be read from this link  http://twinsanddad..com/p/president-lech-kaczynski-died-trying-in.html
Computers / Re: Need Help On How To Use An Ntsc System Lcd Tv by DayTrader: 5:31pm On Jan 15, 2010
In Nigeria I think we broadcast in PAL-M, I can't remember and as I'm based in Poland can't check it out but PAL-M system uses the same broadcast bandwidth, frame rate, and number of lines as NTSC, but using PAL color encoding. It is therefore partially NTSC-compatible. NTSC-M tv sets can receive terrestrial PAL-M broadcasts, NTSC VCRs can play videotapes recorded in PAL-M and vice versa, but only in black & white due to the fact that the color information cannot be decoded.
