Hi Kyrie2018 , I am trying to reach out to you to discuss details of this program and probably chat about details of your experience so far. Can you respond to my email?

Kyrie2018:
Just to clarify about Lakehead university.

*Most universities who offer the accelerated BSN will require you pass the prerequisites as part of their application criteria. For these schools the program would normally run for 2 years.

*Lakehead university offers the prerequisites as part of your first year course, including some other core nursing courses. So, you do not need to write the prerequisites before applying. And the accelerated BSN program is 3years (or 2yrs 8months if you count it that way). I think this is fair because if you include the time you need to study for and write the prerequisites before applying to those schools that run the program for 2 years then it adds up.

*To get exemption for the prerequisites, you need to submit your course description from your previous studies. I submitted this and got exemption for statistics. I know someone who got exemption for psychology too. So, in first year I took psychology, anatomy and physiology plus other nursing courses.

* Also, in Lakehead university clinical placement starts from year one whether you're doing the 4yrs degree or accelerated degree. I don't know what is obtainable in other schools.

*The accelerated degree program in Lakehead university is quite intensive. Be ready to STUDY. A lot of students are able to work while going to school, you just have to know your own capabilities and decide how many hours you can sacrifice for work. Also, after your first year you are qualified to work as a PSW ($20.68/hr where I worked).
* About the 10 years timeline, I'm not sure what the conditions are in Lakehead university. But I finished my first degree over 10 years ago and was able to get admission.

In as much as alot you can afford to loose $1,000. Do not sell this to anyone as an investment plan

Call it what it is grin grin. A scheme that will rob peter to pay paul (a money doubling scheme)

Those asking why bankers indulge in this. Its because just like most of you, they also plan to game the system

My comments and analysis only to help anyone who is interested in doing their due diligence.

Know what you are going into and do not cry fowl play with the doom day comes to light grin grin Daalu nu

Las Las this thread will still be in existence when the time comes

Those of you investing with MBA TRADING & CAPITAL INVESTMENT LIMITED you all should keep at it grin grin

but have you tried the following?
These are things you might want to do as part of your due diligence

*google the company name and look for verifiable info about them (not just what you see on the website)
*google the names of management team like the "ceo" and others (unfortunately these guys have just two)
*check them on LinkedIn including their management team and check their profiles and career background (unfortunately the team members here do not have LinkedIn profiles or verifiable social media accounts)
*Verify them with SEC (ie Securities and Exchange Commission)
*If you can only find little information about them out there, then there is no truth about their operation

People do not just wake up and begin to run a financial institution. It is not done any where

I was minding my business until a friend asked me to vet and see if its a good investment move and the answer is NO

This is just another organisation running a Ponzi scheme camouflaged as an FX trading organization.

Welcome to Canada. Give yourself sometime and everywhere go soft, lol
One of the best things I learnt from this thread before leaving Nigeria was bringing my powerbank along with me.
God bless the lady who made that comment here cos I was almost dashing it out. If your phone battery is not too strong and you will be using public transport for a while plus coming in winter, Please bring it along. Put inside bag when going out, e dey help oh. Cold dey hook phone for here wen nor too strong. grin

Also not sure how sound Google map is in Nigeria. Try learning how to use it. God knows I still walk around in circles but I'm alot better than when I first landed. God bless you all

Thanks for the tip. Just kind of over whelmed with the whole thing here but I know it can only get better

Landing Gist- (Lone Traveller)

So after all the struggle of getting ITA, submitting application, the emotionally draining experience of waiting for PPR/COPR, the joy of that followed after all came through (that feeling of achievement and satisfaction), the booking of flight and then realising that there is life after all of this and that going to Canada is just a means to an end

27th of February, 2020 was the day I decided to leave 9ja and my flight leaves 1.45pm. I struggled to get my things packed and ready because even after resigning from my Job, my Oga was still asking me to help out with some work just to assist the team I left behind (we needed more hands and my leaving did not make things any easy for them). I moved my things to my brother in-laws house the day before my departure because he wanted to drop me off at the airport.

Got to the airport early that morning and I prepared to pay for excess luggage (mumsi packed things for me and insisted I go with them all- 9kg excess=23k approx.). Did the necessary check-ins which was kind of a breeze and went on to the boarding gate after saying farewell to friends who came to see me off at the airport (parted with N800 in all, 500 for the immigration lady who let my guy in and 300 to the “bros we dey chop breakfast for here crew”, every other person I told “nothing dey” or I pretended not to hear their begging)

I flew with ET and had a good experience generally on both legs of the trip but before the good experience I was very scared because looking out the window I felt like “shey this thing no go fit just fall like this ni” (It was my first time flying o, so I was very nervous but I relaxed much later into the flight and I also took time to observe people so that I wont embarrass my life grin grin). However, during my flight I was restless all through because I felt my guy who I was supposed to stop by at his place before getting an Airbnb went MIA on me (so was trying also to make alternative arrangement for accommodation while flying) but apparently na work cause the whole not being able to reach him wahala. I also got news mid-air that COVID 19 don enter 9ja through an Italian man via Lagos airport and this did not make me feel good at all (Thoughts of -shey the people that searched me at the airport did not touch this man sha plus I was scared for my family and 9ja knowing how helpless and vulnerable the masses are).

We got to Addis Ababa and layover was kind of short, the airport was beautiful and was nothing compared to the one I saw in 9ja before leaving. We boarded and flew to Dublin, refuelled and finally got to the famous Toronto Pearson Airport on 28th February, 2020. By the way, I dint carry any cooked food to eat, so I made sure I ate and drank all that passed by me even though almost all the edibles looked alien to me (I no sabi select food ni grin grin). It took approx. 6hrs for me to clear myself at the airport because a whole lot of people was on the cue and the cue dint move fast at immigration where my COPR was signed. I was tired and exhausted and from too much standing. I am here now and I have slept only about 2.3hrs in all slept by 12am and woke about 2:37am (can’t say I know what it feels to be jet-lagged). Did my SIN at the airport and will still get to open a bank account, get PRESTO card and SIM too.

Las Las I reached my friend and he told me about an arrangement for a week stay @200 CAD so I just went there straight up and paid cash. He came in to see me later and we decided to grab coffee together then go to his place for food. This dude set me up and made us run like 4mins straight to catch a bus. Come and see me panting and gasping for breath, I started breathing like someone who was asthmatic shocked shocked, knowledge of the symptoms of COVID 19 come even make fear catch me small but after the coffee I was good tongue tongue

First day here
I took my first bus ride and I dint loss (testimony 1). From my friends place to where I stay after he explained to me how to get home after getting PRESTO card.
Got home and decided to I go get my SIM and after doing it my ba3 died (see panic attack na- fear of how do I go home), I sha pleaded with the attendant to help me use google map and I copied the stops and points where I need to take bus home. I still did not loss (Testimony 2)
I now felt confident going anywhere, I went to the bank and opened my account ( my account manager was nice and shared some of her experience when she moved in 2011 and also gave me some tips and advice)

Moving around was not easy bcs sometimes I will start looking something that I am holding in my hand o (The cold dey touch brain sometimes and also makes my nose run sometimes)
I always use the map and sometimes I get to turn around in circles to make sure I am on the right track before I move (those that see me will sha know this one is a JJC plus I no send) and I always ask the bus driver to confirm once I get into the bus.

Day2 here
It's a Sunday and I went to a catholic church that google said is closest to me smiley

I have come oo and its time to face what is facing me here and I go conquer with God and putting in the needed work. Just like king Solomon, I pray for wisdom.

Day 3
I figured I need to connect more to get help settling in properly. Please I need links to a group for Ontario residents ejor. Still also looking for a house and job(I need to start earning asap...I am an finance person).
Suggestions and assistance from experienced onces here will help.

Una don see as my waka take be.

Gracias grin cool

For that, you score 10/10. Congratulations on your success!

MY STORY
DECISION TO MIGRATE

Growing up and coming from my kind of humble background, I have always wished to go abroad but how was that going to happen (local man had no clue). During my NYSC days back in 2014 in IB, I remember how myself and my guy Chris would talk about saving money and running to Dubai just in a bid to japa any which way. After NYSC, got a job that paid local man 25k in IB (the joy in my heart that i got a job ehn...chai..I even forgot about travel plans, may be bcs money was too small). Left the job and moved to Lagos 5months later (in my mind I don blow until our naira got devalued again)
Fast forward to sept 2017 was preparing for my final ICAN exam when a friend hinted and briefed me on this canny waka and how his brother was leaving in 2months and that he was already in the race to japa...Local man was in shock (but pushed it aside to prepare for my exams I had in November 2017 but there and then I knew this was my way out).
In the course of my research I stumbled on this thread in part3 when the likes of @Newmum (NOC matching specialist who was expecting PPR at the time) and @McStan visibly active.
The information here is “nmua”. Even my friend was shocked at how much I came to know in such a short while.
Got my passport in Jan 2018 and also registered for my first IELTS for Feb 20, 2018

IELTS

Booked my ielts with MOD and preparation began. Used ielts Liz, ielts studybuddy basically to see sample essays, watched youtube videos for speaking to get an idea of what to expect, used cambridge materials for listening and also practiced lots of Maps and Diagram questions on youtube.
After my exam, I booked another one with BC for March 3, 2018 because I knew my listening didn’t go so well because I never expected a loud speaker would be used for the test. LRWS-6.5,8.5,7,7
Second test was in Abeokuta. LRWS-8.5,9,7,7. CRS was in the 440’s at this time and because I was still expecting ECA report, I applied for remark hoping for a 0.5 increase in Writing and Speaking (waste of 15k after waiting over 3months and nothing happened. I doubt if a remark was even done on my exam sef...I felt these guys just repacked my TRF for me after plenty calls from me). I remember I had to sit for like 20mins to catch my breath and regain strength to go home because even my legs immediately grew weak immediately I opened my report and saw nothing changed. Local man wanted to cry...Chai

ECA

I started working on this in December 2017 but because of NASU strike, not much could be done.
Fast forward to June 2018, ECA report was ready and I dived into the pool at 435 (scores refused to crash and the hustle for a second certificate began)
I remember back then in 2018, the constant questions about “if ICAN positively evaluated” and deliberation about “the evaluation outcome of F1-F3 with WES”. I was able to contact someone from my findings who had evaluated the same, even claimed exemption for one paper and got a 1year canadian equivalent. I was so excited and I shared that info here but it didn't take long before WES craze started and evaluating same certificate as one-semester (Chai see panic everywhere). I was particularly devastated by the development but local man cannot can what he can’t make to can.
At this point, a whatsapp group had to be created for those who needed a second certificate.

THE STRUGGLE FOR ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATE

A group-(ACCA/CIMA/UNILAG HRDC) was created by our boss lady HALBOND(dont know her moniker here) and my pakistan friend @AYUB I met here who can panic for the whole of his continent added me to the group and everyone started to brainstorm on possible options we had. It dint take long and group was full to capacity. Along the line just like the plantashun boyz crew, another group (PR Dream) was birthed and some go solo and others too follow (long story) grin grin grin
We all wanted to go the open university route, unilag hrdc came up at some point, we deliberated about CIMA and how it might fly but we dint have success stories to back this up, ACCA FIA to the rescue for @smslive2 (very resourceful sombori), we all dived in (but this dint go well for all of us who did. some were flashed with one-semester others got 3yrs evaluation outcome), BTEC & QUALIFI came up too, a lot of others opted for this, BCS too...and finally CIMA seemed to be the easiest route to go as of now.
I wrote four ACCA foundation papers in about 3weeks in July 2018 but the outcome was one-semester in sept 2018. There was a lot of controversy around using it but I made up my mind to use it in Oct 2018. I had all doc's and ready for submission in Nov. 2018 but chickened out last minute and decided to go the extra mile to get an ACCA advanced diploma certificate by writing more papers in the Nov 2018 diet exam (those I did not write, I claimed exemption for using my ICAN certificate).
NB- using the one-semester would have still worked. I know over 6 success stories of comrades on this trip. If you have it and with no other option in sight, please use it.
3rd ECA report came out in March 2019 and I got ITA April 3.

PCC

First was done in Oct 2018
I called inspector moshood but on getting to Alagbon, a junior inspector (cant remember his name) hijacked me and offered to help. He works with the legal office that is just by the entrance on the left. Paid 3.5k
Second was done March 2019 and used the same guy but paid like 2k this time since it was just renewal. Dude wished me well and prayed I get what I was looking for. Nice guy

MEDICAL

IOM to the rescue in November 2018, even though i didn’t go ahead to submit my application, it was the same medical I used in April 2019 for my application.
Got re-medical request in Oct 2019 and decided to go with Q-Life this time. I had a better experience with Q-Life (spent less time at the clinic)

POF

Used investment certificate with FBN quest, 6months bank statement and 25% of pension (shikini money)
Family and friends (I least expected came through for me here too and I am most grateful). Make I no talk put plenty for here, it was a struggle meeting up with expected funds but am glad it ended well

PROOF OF WORK EXPERIENCE

Ended up using one employer because as at April 2019, I had 3yrs+1month with my employer (but was also able to get reference letter from my IB employer but I moved this experience to personal history). I don't like to complicate things.
Got it in required format without stress, there was already a max exodus of staff at the time and HR already knew what they needed to do.

DOCUMENT COLLATION FOR SUBMISSION

I used camscanner to scan all my docs, named them properly as appropriate. Took photograph with my phone used for submission (learnt that here). Everything was in place, did my reviews and pushed everything over to CIC April 10, 2019. I was 95% certain I filled a good error free application.

THE LONG WAIT POST AOR

I was going to bet my POF that PPR will come in 4months max shocked shocked(yimmu, big lie)
After submission of my application, 6days later, I resigned and moved somewhere else (I was vexing for them because for 3yrs, no growth and no pay raise...nothing. I also did not get a promotion I earned even after like a yr of waiting and hoping)
At my new employment, for the first 3months I was overwhelmed with work but somehow I loved the challenge (I dint also join a post AOR group until after my biometrics because worked somehow made me forget that)
Finally got to join one (April/May AOR) and that was where my panic attack started o (I wanted to leave at some point but the group turned out to be a great and resourceful one at the end)
Analysis here and there from members, how to know when you get to the fake/real ip1 and ip2, sticker fights here and there (thanks to our legendary sticker king @seye...dont know his moniker here), you will wake up and see like 1000 messages and after going through it, you find out say na jokes and sticker fights full am (wetin concern me, I was enjoying the journey, the fun and sarcasm).
I raised a couple of CSE’s (to update CIC that i was a member of ICAN- this was when a story came up about someone who was denied because he did not declare that he was a BOD with a company, raised CSE to know my VO, to persuade them not to forget my file o, told them how excited I was about my plans to move to canny, raised CSE for updated POF when the story of denial because of mutual fund was flying upandan, raised CSE to remind them my medical was going to expire and that I have booked an appointment for a new one. All to blow dust on my application. Did this all work? I don’t know o)
When people started in PPR once they see a GU, It didn't take long and I got an update for re-med and I knew my too was around the corner.
Re-med was done and it didn't take long before an email with the subject “Ready for Visa / Prêt pour Visa” was sitting in my inbox (In-fact I had woken up at 3am to check for it. I did see it and that was the end of my sleep for the night)

SPECIAL SHOUT-OUT

To my friend and colleague who first hinted me about this waka (I dobale for you), to everyone on this thread (active contributors and silent readers), to the members of all my canny waka groups, to my family and friends that did one or two (much love).

Hey Fam,

Since I am still basking in the euphoria of my PPR, let me shed more light on how it came through. smiley

Decision to Migrate: I have always been a huge fan of the Nigerian dream (If there is any) so I never really considered trying to relocate to the aborad. In view of this, when I finished from the prestigious department of Economics, Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife in January 2013, my desire was to build a successful career in Nigeria and contribute to Nation Building. Lol. grin

Your story sweet me sha

Congratulations bro.

What could be the reason for someone who submitted a single application being charged biometrics for two persons.

Anyone with inputs. Just mention me in your response.

Thankyou

Why is it a big deal na. A trail will convince you naw. It's a source of income for him and it's something anyone can do. It's actually a market he has created. If he fails one person here then he looses out. How much me 30k na

I haven't contacted him. He hasn't posted anything here since that post. Cautious, I am.

Register with CIMA online. Look for a cima tuition centre nearest to you. The exams is on demand. Whenever you are ready.

All the best

Look out for an exam center close to you. The exam is on demand. Register, prepare and go sit for the exam. All the best

ACCA advanced diploma certificate equals 3yrs BSc
Orange1234:
Congratulations to all PPR recipients. God is indeed awesome! Please I would like to find out if anyone in 2019 has evaluated ACCA advanced diploma in accounting and business (F4 to F9 subjects) from WES. If so, please what was the outcome? Was it one year diploma?
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by DboyizGood(m): 11:27am On Mar 15, 2019
CIMA certificate level is the easy way to go. It equals 1yr college level certificate
khafetech:
Hello e-family,

I have been going through the previous PARTS and also searching through them for answers. But I still have some questions that need further clarifications.

I need a second certificate and I am looking for the fastest route to get one because by next year I will be 30?

I was able to see that these various certificates were evaluated by WES CIMA, CIPM, ACCA, ICAN, CIIN, nacetem, NTI PGDE and NOUN PGD/MSC from the previous parts.

Q: Can I take one of this route to meet up with the second certificate to be evaluated by WES e.g ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Level 2) only as this will take shorter time and will be less expensive.
Thank you.

Fear not...scores will bend down low grin grin This was the trend last year
Rode20:
I am worried about the current high figures of the CIC draw. At the moment my score is 447 but my fear is that I will lose 5 marks by 20th of April if the numbers does not drop.

I guess there will be 3 draws only before then. angry angry

CIMA cert level is equivalent to Iyr college level certificate. so it qualifies you for 2 or more certificates

Oluwole3839:
Is CIMA Cert BA equivalent to a diploma? or one has to get the CGMA status?

CIMA is the way to go.

Favoured30:
Good day friends, Please I want to find out if ACCA Foundation F1 TO F3 will be a equivalent to one year diploma when sent to WES.

Are you sure about this, cos I have submitted since April 24 and I am yet to get any feedback

The new timeline was updated on BC website last week.

My EOR for 27th of March is still hanging too. But the new timeline has already started working as someone here got EOR in less than 2weeks

Are u serious?, pls do u know of someone who got his/her remark under 2weeks??...The thought of the wait has been tearing me apart...lol..

Check pages back. Someone got in less than 10 days.

Speaking was increased to 8 but writing remained at 6.5

I don't agree, remarking takes 3 months to come out and it is very possible that in three months which is = 6 draws, that the score might drop to 440. Best for you wait and hope. Besides score increase in writing is not guaranteed!!!

BC now takes less than 2weeks for EOR.
Give it a shot

And EOR is over 12weeks now and yet called BC today for feedback and was told to exercise patience.
