This is one man speaking for the Church and providing leadership for the Church and protecting the interest of the Church through this crisis. Many others are sleeping through it thinking its just a natural thing.

If you think this thing is going to suddenly go away, or that your life will naturally return to normal without divine intervention, you have another think coming

Like has been said it takes spiritual dullness to think what is happening is just normal and sadly the dullest and emptiest barrels make the most noise.

Science/Technology / Re: Missing Malaysia Airlines MH370 Plane Wreckage Found Off The Coast Of Africa? by degbads(m): 4:56am On Jul 30, 2015
Just a side comment here, i used to be a regular nairlander but for the past 7 or 8 months this has just been by second time logging on to nairaland, the main reason i stopped visiting nairaland was the quality (or lack thereof) of the comments from fellow readers.
i read this same story on Yahoo, and just by reading the comments i already gathered a lot of intelligent information, many of those commenting already know there have only been 4 Boeing 777 crashes - 3 on land thus narrowing this further to MH 370, i read analysis of how ocean currents work and how this might have affected final landing place of the piece of debris, i read about shear, stress and impact analysis on the piece of debris, i also gained very good information and comparisons on previous airplane crashes, simply put, i gained a lot of information and became more intelligent just by reading the comments
But on Nairaland, its a very different matter, just read all the comments here and see if they make u any more intelligent, let's not even bring up the FTC space bookers (pls is that still done or have the mods dealt with it). i am not dissing my compatriots at all - i am glad to be a Nigerian, but i just begin to suspect we may not be very informed and erudite in this country o, try comparing the diction (not accent) of a 5 year old child raised in USA and one raised here, they are miles apart.
I remember a 'Nigerian' Pastor once giving an illustration, he said whenever he is taking healing testimonies at crusades in South Africa, people from that region are able to say, i was suffering from acute tendonitis, or muscular dystrophy or whatever (i am not in the medical field) and then God healed me, but they were able to accurately name their diseases, but most times in Nigeria, what obtained was 'my body dey pain me for here, my leg swell up, or i dey feel one kind for here etc.
You can also analyse how our politicians talk and see more.
My point is, i think there is something very wrong with our education culture and we might need to work on this particularly those of us in the younger generation - let's pay more attention to education.

You can read the article on Yahoo here and read the comments and compare with ours on Nairaland:

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/french-aviation-expert-plane-wreckage-170030671.html

that said sha, i still think Nigerians are still very special, very religious, very generous and free spirited. I love Nigeria

The funny thing about this tithe thing is that those of us dat pay don't complain, those dat don't pay keep complaining and drinking panadol over what should be our headache. You say they are scamming us, we don hear, leave us na. Haba

The hypocrisy of the whole thing is just funny, several of us spend money every weekend to watch english preniership, buy club jerseys, a lot of these monies eventually get to the footballers who earn what some call obscene salaries, even the mere tuning in to watch a match on free t v means you are making cr7 or messi and co richer, but you do it gladly, many of these peeps are even morally bankrupt yet we do it gladly, then when it is a man of God we go all up in arms. What more right does Obama have to a private jet than bishop oyedepo.

For those of you that think they are scamming think again. You think it is easy to just beguile millions of educated people to consistently part with hard earned money without a cause. If it was that easy how come God as powerful as he is 'hasn't succeeded' in making you pay your tithe. U can also try and scam ur neighbour into giving you 5000 naira and see how easy it is. As long as its not your money going to the Pastors, please SHUT UP and leave us tithers to worry about our problems. U can keep dashing ur own money to footballers, celebs, your chick or whatever else works for you

Ask yourself if you love ur God more than the way you love this pastor? Or is it the other way round?

But why should we ask selves such silly questions. We love both, they are not mutually exclusive. The bible teaches that no one can love God without loving his fellow man.

Gosh! I think I am tired of spiritual ignoramuses trying to hold a moral high ground here. Please

it is there in print in THIS DAY. THIS DAY says a copy of the suit is in its possessions. I didn't say it. THIS DAY said and its a reputable and BIG newspaper.
Well I guess THIS DAY must be LIEING then. They simply put pen to paper and came out with their own version of the divorce suit filed by Anita lawyers.

Lanre, lanre, lanre na wa o. Let me break it down for you. What we are trying to tell you is that the media houses you are authoritatively quoting are uusually not reliable. On saturday, the sun published on their front page that rev anita accused rev chris of adultery and even went as far as adding tips of how ministers should avoid adultery only for us to find out the next day that adultery wasn't even a part of the allegations. Here you are quoting this day as though God were their CEO, even if they meant well, they can still publish wrong info- hence the concept of retractions. Pls if u bear in mind that media houses thrive on sensationalism and need to sell their wares, you would understand better. I wish u read or believed the bible half as much as you believed the papers, then u would not be so easily deceived

give it a rest; the main body or crux of the allegations against him and which people or Christians as the case maybe, are taking up, were made by his wife.
So I understand that; I guess his wife is among those trying to pull him down

here goes my point about unintelligent and baseless accusations, how do you know the allegations were by his wife, how do you know exactly what the allegations are, did she discuss with you or you read it from moronic media houses like the sun, sahara reporters and the cable.

That being said, i love the fact that many people who have been tangibly impacted by Pastor Chris' ministry are standing up to the accusers of the brethren, sadly its not a battle i think we can win in the realm of logic, people like Pastor Chris definitely always polarize opinion, just like Jesus himself, you either love them or love to hate them, Jesus himself said, if they have persecuted me they will persecute you, there will always be people jealous of pastor Chris, i mean how can a man be so successful, transforming the world and yet they are not known in their compounds, the man like Jesus is set for the rising and falling of many, the good thing is they will never be able to bring him down, in the TB joshua saga, PFN tried it, they couldn't, not now, not ever, it is just a waste of time and an exercise in futility.
God bless Pastor Chris and blessed is he who is not offended with him

2 reasons why, if you are daft and simple minded enough to believe everything you read in the press, you simply don’t have the intelligence to be rich (at least not yet), you just can’t cut it in business, the authors of the different posts accusing him (and many other posts) didn’t even dignify you enough to put a reasonable link, except to Sahara reporters and the Cable ( i even think say na UK paper before i see .ng for their website url) of all media houses, why? they don't think you are intelligent enough to need one, they doesn’t expect you to examine the facts and develop an informed opinion, they are counting on your illiteracy to go up in arms and condemn a man you know next to nothing about, sadly he is right for the most part
Secondly, if you are successful, you would have come through thick and thin on your road to success, you would have seen a lot, had a lot of people lie against you, defame you wrongly, this shapes your mind, you are more intelligent, you realize that not all that is said about a man is necessarily true and you realize that just like you, this may yet be another person being defamed, you are thus cautious to criticize, you know your words are important and taken seriously, you have the intelligence to examine the facts and the self-restraint to refrain from commenting until you have a reasonable picture of things. Peasants don't have such considerations!!!

One of the Saddest things that comes to my mind and immediately becomes apparent is the ignorance and naivety of many Nigerians, it amazes me how educated people can simply swallow words from the same media they know to be corrupt and ineffective.
Many here have judged and condemned a man they know little about and on a subject they know even less about.
What is amazing sometimes though is our eagerness and hunger to tear down people who appear to be successful, someone once wisely said – it’s a witchcraft spirit that is responsible for a lot of the poverty we see in Africa and Nigeria included.
i actually think the reason many of us are quick to condemn successful people is this, let's face it, most are poor or struggling, and have developed a poverty mentality, generally most poor people hate and are disdainful of successful people, so at the mention of things like this, they jump on the bandwagon and condemn them, sad to say, this is usually the undoing of the poor, they think all successful people men are evil (undoubtedly some are), and got their riches by some sort of evil or wickedness.
i once heard a theory, it says rich men dont criticize rich men, it’s the poor that criticize the rich, i think it is true but wouldn’t mind someone proving me wrong, so pls is there any of our dear critics and 'condemners' of Rev Chris who is very wealthy say a millionaire to start with, or has founded a very successful and wealthy business, or who even gives to the poor or has a charity i doubt there are, but wont mind to be proven wrong....waiting!!!

Praise to God and congrats to all HOTR members. Nothing is too good for God.
Please ignore all the bad belle people here hiding under the guise of '... Money should have been given to the poor'.(Dont they remind us of Judas and the alabaster box incident in the bible) this they say not because they love the poor or as a matter of fact do anything to help the poor but some just hate to see the Church prosper. They would rather the church remains poor and beggarly and when they cant make this happen they hide under the 'helping the poor trash' they always spue. Try reading about the billions david and solomon spent in building the temple of God in the bible, there were poor people in israel in the day yet God approved of it. Most of these folks dont even read the bible or attend church they just join bandwagoners to say what anybody with half-sense will naturally come up with without thorough logical thinking. And this is one of the problems with our country, we destroy our heroes, and celebrate the dead, and this stems from a spirit of witchcraft and jealousy. Thumbs up to people who give to God, thumbs up to Christians with a honest and bible based prosperity mentality, thumbs to HOTR and its inspirational G.O. And yes, i am from Christ Embassy

For me the funniest thing about giving to men of God and stories like this is that those who give (foolishly as they are described) never complain, but it is the ones who don't give that seem to be angriest and drinking Panadol (and taking drip sef) over another man's supposed headache. We have hardly seen someone who laments of giving to them, but countless ordinary masses who don't give who r complaining. But i must somehow blame the Christians who expect to communicate revelation by mere explanation, how do you expect a greedy, Poor and hungry Nigerian to understand that you sow into your Pastor's life and that it is a secret to prosperity, they cannot, if they could they wouldn't be poor, God has not given them that light so they must necessarily continue to dispute it and sadly so, worsen their lives by insulting MOGs.

i am a staunch believer in sowing in my MOGs life, i am presently putting together a bumper seed for my MOG and getting ready to fly in 2013, call me stupid o, though am an educated graduate, but i understand your perspective, bcs were it not for the revelation of God's Spirit, i might have been thinking like you. So you poor, hungry, spiritual money trackers keep complaining, while we keep giving and getting greater wink

Pls does anybody have a problem with this? (for what its worth, i don't attend Winners)

Interesting Thread. several years ago, i had just become a Christian and was struggling to cope with tests and trials. i heard of a friend's friend who gave his heart to Christ and died 2 weeks later. i thought he was lucky. i wished i could stay in the world until 2weeks to my time to depart the earth and then give my heart to Christ. Then i gained admission into Unilag, i met these guys from BLW fellowship and got a copy of Rhapsody of Realities, this transformed my experience of Christianity with the Word. i began wishing i had been born again since and learning God's Word as it brought light and victory to me. It's 11 yrs up the line and i'm still so thrilled and excited to know God. Death-bed repentance isn't worth it, if anybody really knew what Christianity was (and yes its not a religion) and the glory of it, they would want it NOW and not wait till death bed. cheesy smiley wink

Remember also if you are planning to accept Christ at the eleventh hour, you could die at 10:30

Dear Nairalanders,

I am delighted to inform you that Pastor Chris will be praying for Children around the world on the 27th of May 2009.

The bible declares in Psalm 127:3 that “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”

This is a unique opportunity for children to be specially impacted, thereby impacting a whole new generation, as the character of youths and children is the character of the next generation of leaders of society.

It is thus with great excitement and anticipation that we invite you to participate in the Children’s Prayer Day by sending the names of children you would like Pastor Chris to pray for.

Please visit our website at: www.christembassy.org/childrensday to send in the names of children.

Do not let any child you know be left out of this mighty move of God’s Spirit as our Man of God Pastor Chris

This is an opportunity too good to be missed!

Why do the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing, the kings of the earth set themselves together against the Lord's anointed, he that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh, the lord shall have them in derision.

I might have bothered 'investigating' these claims, but men its too common, unverified claims from cheap publicity and sensationalist writers (not to mention quack and junk journalism). I've seen many a people have a go at Chris Oyakhilome and come off worse off. well for the self styled MOG, almost annoyingly to d inquisitive public,  he treats 'em as minor irritations undeserving of his attention.

interestingly the only time i hear of huhuonLIES.com is when they have a 'story' or perhaps fiction about Chris Oyakhilome, it seems when some media house goes broke they need him to sell a story.

whatever we say here, whatever we conclude, fake healer or faith healer, champion or charlattan, hero or villian, it seems it wouldn't matter, next time u tune to ur TV set, you'll see that handsome debonair preacher, declaring the life changing truths of the Gospel, www.christembassy.org will still be recording the highest hits in Nigeria, the next Night of Bliss will witness millions of people, and huhuhonLIES will post a story of em, what now, PASTOR CHRIS IS ACTUALLY A HERBALIST. loyalists and enemies will spar on nairaland. the cycle goes on till the rapture, unless of course huhuonLIES will tell us thats a hoax too, how could human beings be caught up in the air

The NNPC recruitment test took place yesterday, admittedly there were some good points like the organisation into classes especially in the Lagos centre, but men those questions were just short of crazy, full of elementary typos etc, the company that set the test Trithel Management (TMAT) did a horrible job, did any one notice that the last section in the part A, had so many identical options, you just couldn't tell the difference, also there were several questions without answers and the question paper itself was like the photocopy of the photocopy of the photocopy of the photocopy of the poorly typed original.

I wonder what it would cost NNPC to have a professional company set their questions, but these TMAT guys are wack, they shouldn't even be allowed to set nursery school exams. What do you guys think. Perhaps it was just me cry
