Foreign Affairs / Mandela Foundation Calls Donald Trump Arrogant And Uninformed by dharmie(f): 2:45pm On Sep 08, 2020 |
The Nelson Mandela Foundation has described US President Donald Trump as arrogant, superficial and uninformed. The invectives came as a response to statements attributed to Trump about African leaders in general and Nelson Mandela in particular, in a book by Michael Cohen titled 'Disloyal'. In a book scheduled to be published this week, Trump's former personal lawyer Michael Cohen alleged that the US President said Mandela was no leader. "*Mandela f*cked the whole country up. Now it's a sh*thole. F*ck Mandela. He was no leader," Cohen claimed Trump said of the late anti-apartheid hero and South Africa's first Black president*. The US president allegedly did not stop there. In a CNN report, Cohen alleged that Trump also made denigrating remarks about African leaders.well. "Tell me one country run by a black person that isn't a sh*thole...They are all complete f*cking toilets". Recall that the US President was accused of referring to African countries as "shithole countries" in 2018. Read the full response of the Nelson Mandela Foundation to Donald Trump below: The Nelson Mandela Foundation has noted the statements attributed to the US President Donald Trump about African leaders in general and Nelson Mandela in particular, in a book by Michael Cohen titled Disloyal. We do not believe that leaders who conduct themselves in the way Mr Trump does are in a position to offer authoritative commentary on the life and work of Madiba. Reflecting on leadership, Madiba once said: "A good leader can engage in a debate frankly and thoroughly, knowing that at the end he and the other side must be closer, and thus emerge stronger. You don't have that idea when you are arrogant, superficial, and uninformed." We would recommend these words to Mr Trump for consideration. https://eonsintelligence.com/details/news-108923456/arrogant-superficial-uninformed-mandela-foundation-hits-back-at-donald-trump-for-insulting-remarks-97765576 |
Crime / Boko Haram Threat On Abuja And Environs Is Real But Not Realistic by dharmie(f): 11:21am On Sep 07, 2020 |
Following leaked Intelligence reports from the Nigeria customs that the Islamic Insurgents, Boko Haram/ISWAP have set up camps in forests surrounding Abuja and its environs to launch multiple attacks in five different locations across the Federal Capital Territory, Eons Intelligence Security analysis posits that the terrorist threat though real is not realistic. A scrutiny of the Nigerian Customs security report that the terrorists have reportedly set up camps in forests in Abuja and its environs- all close to urban areas with a strong military presence indicate the move is impracticable and a deviation of the sect's modus operandi. With the armed forces' continuous bombardment of their strongholds and camps, it is not unusual that the Islamic Sect might desperately want to wreck considerable damage to instil fear, hence the need for the general public and security agencies to be vigilant. However, Boko Haram JAS and ISWAP units lack the environmental advantage, support network, capacity & tactic to operate camps & survive in urban areas mentioned in Abuja FCT. "This is why Boko Haram escaped Maiduguri in 2009 to seek shelter in the deep Sambisa Forest and the Mandara Mountains. In the ongoing asymmetric warfare scenario, it must be assumed that Boko Haram and ISWAP havé the advantage to operate active and sleeper cells with supporters and sponsors in both urban and rural environments nationally and regionally. "But I see very little strategic and operational advantage for any unit or individuals linked to Boko Haram and ISWAP to set up operational camps in the areas mentioned within and along the fringes of the FCT - Abuja. It's not sustainable and realistic," security expert David Otto posits. "Boko Haram and ISWAP units are limited to survival using ambush and retreat tactics on hard military and soft civilian targets. Building operational camps in locations that provide cover and camouflage - deep forest locations, mountains, Islands, lakes etc. - hence the choice of JAS and ISWAP Factions to settle for the massive terrain and deep Sambisa Forest - Mandara Mountains; porous borders of the Lake Chad axis and deep waterways in Northern Nigeria and the Tunbuns of Lake Chad. Individual sleeper cells may be deployed for specific reconnaissance missions in rural locations like FCT Abuja or other targeted states, but the idea of establishing permanent operational camps around Abuja is a move that appears more criminal than jihadist. The perceived circumstances should attract an active inter-agency intelligence-led preventive and protection of people and property. Multi-level response must ensure that criminals and jihadist armed groups do not enjoy presence and control of any territory within the national boundaries. It is easy to confuse the presence of organised criminal elements within the FCT Abuja with groups directly connected to Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorist factions. In classic asymmetric warfare, thé lines of differentiation between criminal elements and terrorist are often blurred. https://eonsintelligence.com/details/news-108923456/boko-haram-threat-on-abuja-and-environs-is-real-but-not-realistic-2044927469 |

Family / Much Ado About "The Other Room" by dharmie(f): 11:39pm On Oct 19, 2016 |
…So the new slang in town is the “other room” President Muhammed Buhari’s famous/ notorious quote “my wife belongs in the kitchen, the living room and the other room” has got the whole world talking. This post is not about the appropriateness ( or otherwise ) of the president’s words. Rather, it is more of a scrutiny of the real reason the people, especially women are enraged. Let’s beam a searchlight on the place of a woman, a wife and a mother in the home. My case study are my mother and aunt. (These women I have grown up to watch, study and learn from). A woman’s place is in the kitchen. There’s hardly a meal she can’t prepare. A woman is a nurturer. she provides nutrients for the body. Yes! Her place is in the living room. she monitors what programme her children watches. She ensures her kids are not exposed to obscene scenes and languages in the name of entertainment. I need not be in their “other room” to know a wife’s duty is to attend to her husband’s emotional needs and give him sexual satisfaction. But beyond all these, a woman also works or sells( or does both) and contribute her quota to balance the financial needs of the home. So, has the president goofed in stating that his wife’s place is in the kitchen, living room and other room? Frankly NO. However, there is a major goof if Mr President or any man believes that that that’s where a woman’s influence ends or underestimates the importance of a woman being in the kitchen, the living room or other room. To be candid, I believe one of the major reasons we have more disillusioned, ill mannered and ill trained kids is because we have many women, wives and mothers neglect the kitchen, the living room and the other room.So the kids are left to their own devices and they take up classes with Toke Makinwa, Cossy Orijafor, Idris Olanrewaju A.K.A Bobrisky, etc. So the next time you express your displeasure about the President’s speech, please be precise. Is it because of the perceived underestimation of this important role a woman plays in society building? But if it is because you think a woman’s place is not in the kitchen, living room, and the other room, then don’t be dismayed that your teenagers’ life goals are to bleach their skin, walk half nude, kiss strangers and have one night stands. source: https://juasolo./2016/10/19/much-ado-about-the-other-room/ |

Romance / Re: This is the type of woman every man loves to marry. by dharmie(f): 8:04am On Sep 30, 2016 |
NO,no matter how submissive the wife is(been realistic,I'm sure You will agree with me) and some men are in awe or their wives and a very agressive NO will do the trick(I'm been realistic),so the problem I have with most of your rightups is that "they are not a standard for relationships, coz every relationship is unique" but from your tone of words,You type like that's all that should be done because it is in the "BIBLE" forgetting that even Jesus said in "MARK 2:27" The sabbath(law) was made for man not man for the sabbath(law), meaning most of this bible injunctions can be used uniquely not universally. (I hope You know what happened in that verse and why he made that statement?). secondly,I want to say I agree with your rightup once again, although it is a little bit flawed "to me". Any idiot can see the emphasis You made on "WIVES SUBMISSION" I think its good but I also think it would have been appropriate if You emphasized as much on the "HUSBAND's LOVE". (I think this is where most relationship experts get it wrong). Now lets use the scripture You qouted as an example, did You realise that Ephesians 5:33 has two parts(part A and B) Did You realise that part A was talking to the husband? Ephesians 5:33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself Did You realise that the bible spoke to the husband first? That tells You that Submission is "EARNED" so its flawed for You to say "THE BIBLE SAID THAT THE WIFE MUST BE SUBMISSIVE TO HER HUSBAND NO MATTER WHAT" because grandpa, the bible has put an unspoken condition in that verse,(You can't respect/submit to your abusive father,You "FEAR" him, likewise if You say wives should be submissive unconditionally,You are only telling her to "FEAR" him, that is not submission according to the bible) Part B Ephesians 5:33 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord Every man that loves his wife, automatically has earned her respect and submission,it is a known fact, and a man that doesn't love his wife(cheating on her "glaringly" abuse her, doesn't do his roles as a husband etc) will be "FEARED" not respected/submitted to). So grandpa, all this tunranchi is what the bible is preaching(Idealistic) not what our pastors are interpreting the bible to, not what You have interpreted the bible to,which is sadly the (realistic) point of what we have in the world today because our religious leaders have knowingly or unknowingly led some men astray by repeatedly preaching and emphasizing on "SUBMISSION" while skimming through "LOVE". The kingdom of God is a hot race,I fear for most people,as I have come to a stage in my salvation where,I read and ask the holy spirit to interpret and explain what this really means to me,instead of listening to one marriage counsel/counsellor and corrupting my heavenly journey . I hope You will settle down and read my epistle, and may the holy spirit help You to realise the truth.[/b][/i] [/quote] May God bless you. |

Nairaland / General / I Feel Scammed By Glo by dharmie(f): 2:52am On Aug 02, 2016 |
I feel like I've been scammed by Glo. My ordeal started on the 28th of June around 0024hrs. I had alot on my mind and I just couldn't sleep. Well, I picked up my phone, skimmed through topics on Nairaland front page, scanned through my Facebook updates then landed on instagram. That was when I saw Funke Akindele's advert for Glo hammar million naira promo. The advert was hilarious but real to me... A girl with too many plans and too little funds. So I felt why not?The advert was well explained(or so I thought) Just text Glo to 555 then you'd get a trivial question which should be answered correctly. Each message would cost NGN100. Simple right? I wish. Anyways, I sent the text message and got no trivial question. After waiting for some minutes, I dialled 121. The customer care rep I spoke to told me to expect the trivial question within 24 hours.... 24hrs later, no trivial question. So I dialled 121 again. The first agent I spoke to told me to resend the code. I explained to him that I got no trivial question the first time I sent it despite being debited a NGN100. Well I dialled 121 again and another agent registered my complaint and gave me this ref no. 1-2707277739 accompanied by a text that it would be resolved within 48hours. 48 hours later, I got no trivial question. I called again and I was told the issue had not been resolved. Phew!!! I called a couple more times, cc glocustomer care even Funke Akindele on Twitter yet nothing. I lost hope. July 13, I got a message from 7018 that the issue has been resolved. I felt glad that my NGN100 was going to earn me a chance to 'Hammar' so I held on to my phone expecting the trivial question. Yet I got nothing. The next day, I dialled 121 again and i was given another complainants ref no. 1-2737947651. I later got a text that the issue has been resolved. But still I got no question. On the 24th of July, I dialled 121 again. This time,my ref no. was 1-2782381890 a day later, I got a message that it has been resolved but yours truly never got a trivial question. I'm tired and feel frustrated and cheated. My friends now tease me for being a maga for Glo. NGN100 may seem small but it is my money and I would have felt better if I was given a fair chance at winning the star prize or any of the consolation prizes. |

I think our lifestyle should determine the kind of phone we use. I learnt this the hard way. @OP Neither give nor encourage her to use a delicate or overtly expensive phone. There are rugged and inexpensive options with strong security features. Encourage her to opt for these. More so, the neighborhood where you live and work could also determine the fate of your gadgets. Losing a phone or anything of value is a painful experience in itself. A reoccurrence leaves you feeling devastated and careless. OP dads Please don't add salt to the injury. You need not buy her another phone. Advice her to own a purse if she is one that keeps her phone in her pocket. #Dassal 1 Like 1 Share |

Travel / Ghana’s New Visa Policy: Why I Think Nigeria Should Do Same by dharmie(f): 2:28am On Apr 02, 2016 |
On the 6th of March 2016, President John Mahama of Ghana declared that members of African Union countries would require a visa to visit the country from the month of July. As expected, this declaration has generated a lot of public outcry. What are the benefits of Ghana’s new visa policy and why should we adopt it? I may be wrong but most of those who oppose this policy do so because they're ignorant. Newsstand comments I gathered made me deduce that they were comments from mostly bruised egos. You hear comments like ‘So Ghana wants to start demanding visas from Nigerians ehn?” Are we no more a part of ECOWAS?’ Well we are! Therefore, there is no cause for alarm. What President Mahama has done is to make it easier for AU member countries to travel to Ghana and experience what the country has to offer. Hopefully, this move would aid trade, investment and tourism. I do hope Ghana's security has been beefed up. Especially with the upsurge of terrorist activities globally and elections being just around the corner. But then Visa-on-arrival enables the State evaluate your intention before entering into the country. It also helps know how best to track foreigners in the land. With security measures tidied up, I foresee Ghana's economy moving up. I applaud Ghana’s visa-on arrival stand and also hope that Nigeria and other countries would follow suit. The AU commission chairperson, Nkosazana Dlamini- Zuma, has also supported and commended this move hoping that “many other African countries will follow suit, in the interest of achieving an integrated, prosperous and peaceful Africa.” source: www.juasolo.
