Makinde and Dapo Abiodun, what are you guys doing?

Build independent power stations and ensure top notch security. Then go out and attract more investors.

Goods are relatively cheaper to manufacture here now with the crazy Naira devaluation. These guys can come in, produce and export to other African countries from here.

Please turn our woes to our competitive advantage.

Learn from China

Yes, foreign investors can come in but naira has to stabilize first, as it is its still dropping. Someone who invested one million dollars in the the Nigerian economy last month has already lost money before doing anything tangible with it. So first thing is to stabilize the naira

What a lot of people don't understand is it's not Peter Obi or Labour Party's popularity that has made him a strong contender, rather it's the unpopularity of the others, Nigerians have had it with that kind of leadership, if APC had instead brought out Osibanjo as their flag bearer, Peter Obi wouldn't gotten this far

Crash land is to land (an aircraft), under circumstances in which a normal landing is impossible, in such a way that damage to the aircraft is unavoidable.

A simple Yes or No would have been preferable. But that's alright.

Raising a kid is a difficult task, and goes beyond impregnating a woman. If a man tells you to hold on till he finishes his exams or things improve, listen to him.
Family / Re: My Husband Is Frustrating Me. by DirectTokunbo: 10:04am On Dec 30, 2021
Firstly the man married a 30+ woman without the intention of having at least one child, that's where the wahala started. That has already happened, but if he believes that in his current situation he can't take care of a child and still make it, then perhaps he is right and you can't blame the 32 year old woman for whatever she decides to do.

Of the 170,000, how much are your current expenses? Rent, Transportation, feeding, healthcare, utilities, etc?

The guy clearly is trying to improve the situation by upgrading his qualifications, but your brain can't seem to phantom anything more than bringing children to suffer.

How in the world do you somehow think this is an optimal situation for child-bearing??
Are you joking?

With proper planning and disciplined financial management, 170k monthly is enough to cater for a family with at least one child. If he knew he wasn't ready to bear children, why marry in the first place? Plus you are 32 so truly time is not on your side, I'll advise you draw out a proper plan on how both of you can manage 170k/month with one child and present it to him to see what he thinks, also if you both can add some side hustle as well to boost your income a little. But if he's still adamant, I wouldn't blame you if you left him for another guy who is ready

Kolawole2130:
We
have been married for 3 years now. We stay in a self contained apartment. He tries as much as possible to pay his bills while I support him too with paying the bills.

Since we married, anytime I talk about childbearing he gets angry. Like he may not talk to me for days. I will be the one to come and beg him later. He says his not ready to start bearing kids that he wants to have enough money to take care of the kids. He says he doesnt want his children to suffer.

I am so pissed off, I am 32 now and he is 35 and he earns 100k while I earn 70k. Is that not enough to raise a family. Plus age is not on my side he doesnt look like he will be ready in a year time again. Am already getting tired and people around me are getting married. No body can even talk to him. His mind is made up already.

The last fight we had he said i can go and divorce him if i cannot wait till he is ready. He is busy reading for professional exam instead of him to be thinking of how to produce seed. Professional exam that will last another 2 years. His family can't even talk to him. Am just frustrated already.
Politics / Re: Shatu Garko: Miss Nigeria Crown Is Already On My Head, Critics Can Keep Talking by DirectTokunbo: 9:41am On Dec 25, 2021
They should keep allowing Hisbah to do whatever it likes, a time will come when every region will form its own independent task force which abides by its own constitution. Then when people talk they will say "shebi Hisbah was doing it and everybody kept quiet"

Benbellamor:

The 44th Miss Nigeria, Shatu Garko, has slammed those who criticised her for participating in the beauty pageant because she is a Muslim.

The 18-year-old hijab-wearing queen said though critics may continue to talk, the Miss Nigeria crown is already on her head and there is nothing she can do about it.

The PUNCH had earlier reported that the Commander General of the Kano Hisbah Board, Harun Ibn-Sina, said that the Sharia Police would invite the parents of Garko for allowing her to participate in the Miss Nigeria pageant on December 17, 2021 at the Landmark Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.

Garko, who wore a hijab during the pageant, had won the beauty pageant and took home the prize of N10m, one-year residency in a luxury apartment, brand new car, and many brand ambassadorship opportunities.

However, the Hisbah boss said Garko’s participation is illegal and unknown to Islam, adding that the parents of the teenager would be invited so that other ladies won’t model after Garko.

You see this two lines:
"public would have been outraged and accused the Army of coercion had a male soldier proposed to a female corper during NYSC parade" and "Personnel must have served for three years before he/she can qualify for marriage" simply shows that this is more of a personal issue, because let's tell ourselves the truth if a male soldier has proposed to a female corper on passing out and she accepted and kissed him, most of the public who give a damn would have congratulated them.
Also she didn't get married, just accepted a proposal.

Talking about full attention on your duty, I'm sure if we check, a lot of married male soldiers met their wives while they were on duty.
Romance / Re: Detained Female Soldier Will Be Penalised For Accepting Corper’s Proposal – Army by DirectTokunbo: 6:15am On Dec 20, 2021
It's because she is a lady and probably some of her superiors were eyeing her.
For those who have done nysc would know that in camp soldiers hit on female corpers regularly, some of them even end up dating and probably getting married it's just we don't hear about it because no one makes a big deal out of it.
This is just a clear show of bitterness by some of her superiors, they want to tell me that something very similar hasn't happened before with a male soldier.
