OH NO! 9yrs Old Boy Killed By Vigilante’s Stray Bullet Outside His Mother’s Shop In Delta (Photos)



A 9-year-old boy was hit and killed by a stray bullet, allegedly fired by members of a vigilante group in Agbaro, Delta State on Friday, October 26.
According to Israel Joe, the vigilantes shot indiscriminately in the area and the bullet hit the young boy, who was sitting in his mother's shop. Another person was left injured. Read full report below:

ON THE KILLING OF A NINE YEAR-OLD BOY BY TRIGGERED HAPPY VIGILANTES IN AGBARO ON FRIDAY 26TH OCTOBER
We express absolute displeasure on the unprofessional conducts of vigilantes in Agbaro Delta State which led to the death of a nine year old boy who was sitting in his mother's shop. According to eye witness, there was no uproar in the area neither was there robbery nor stealing.
In announcing their presence was a sporadic gunshot that left the nine year old boy dead and another seriously injured. When I confronted CSP Nosa that DPO Agbaro Divisional police headquarters, he said they are on top the situation as the vigilantes are in his custody.
Paying a condolence visit to the family of the victim this morning left me some pains as the tragedy was too much for the mother to bear. We hereby urge the DPO in line with the decision of the victim's family to transfer the suspects to state CIID for prosecution to serve as deterrent to others who feel they can fire arms at will.
The position of the CDHR state chairman Comr. Prince Kehinde Taiga who mandated me, is justice for the victim and we hope it be carried out immediately.

Ahead of November 6 nationwide strike to compel FG to peg a new minimum wage at N30,000, organized labor will on Tuesday, hold a mass protest across the country.
Nigerian organized labor will today, hold mass protest across the country as part of sensitization of workers and Nigerians for the planned industrial action, ahead of November 6 nationwide strike to compel the government to peg a new minimum wage at N30,000.
According to Reporters, leaders of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) and United Labour Congress of Nigeria (ULCN), have begun massive mobilisation of members nationwide and their civil society allies, ahead of not only tomorrow’s protest, but also for the nationwide strike on November 6.
In a circular to its affiliates and state’s councils across the country, ULC, through its Deputy General Secretary, Chris Oyeka, said:

“This is to inform you that sequel to the several consultations among the leadership of organised labour in Nigeria over the apparent decision of the federal Government to sabotage the National Minimum Wage Negotiation; the following decisions were taken that there shall be a national day of outrage and mourning by Nigerian, workers all over the nation. Tuesday, October 30, 2018, has been chosen for that action.
“All state councils are, therefore, to collaborate with the other two labour Centres (NLC and TUC) in their respective states to make this day a success. It is a day set aside to show our indignation and anger over the way workers have been treated in Nigeria and to mourn the death of truth, transparency and good governance in Nigeria.
‘’We shall also sensitize Nigerians on our plight as workers and citizens and the need for national resistance. “Do also be informed as you mobilise for the planned Nationwide Strike on Tuesday,that on the 6th of November, 2018, UMI’s CWC will meet to take further decisions which will culminate into the joint CWC meeting of the three Labour Centres (ULC, NLC, and TUC) where final decisions will be taken on the strategies for the Nationwide strike. You will be informed if there is any further decision that may arise from these CWC meetings.”
On its part, NLC, while urging workers to prepare for indefinite strike from November 6 over a new minimum wage, told them not to be deterred by government’s threat of “no work, no pay” as strike has always complied with legal requirements and will always comply with those requirements.
In a release by President of NLC and the General Secretary, Ayuba Wabba, and Dr. Peter Ozo-Eson, the NLC urged members nationwide to fully mobilize and comply with resolutions of National Executive Council, NEC, meeting of Tuesday 23.

‘’The NEC resolved to organize a national day of mobilization and sensitization rallies for all workers to show their outrage and mourning in the 36 states of the federation and FCT on Tuesday, 30th October, 2018. The day will also be used to educate and sensitize Nigerians on the horrendous plight of workers and pensioners, the insensitivity and duplicity of government on labour issues, and to protest the proposed obnoxious policies of government against organized labour.’’
The NLC also said there would be “joint organ meetings of the Central Working Committees, CWCs, of all the labour centres on November 2, 2018, for final preparations for a full engagement with government on the national minimum wage.”
It declared that workers nationwide would “commence an indefinite national strike from November 6, 2018, except gov,ernment accepts and commences the process of perfecting the payment of N30,000 as the negotiated and compromise new national minimum wage before that date.’’

A helicopter crashed outside of Leicester City’s King Power Stadium on Saturday night after the Foxes’ 1-1 draw with West Ham.
Multiple reports said the helicopter belongs to Leicester owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, who is often picked up and dropped off at games by a helicopter.
It was unclear who was on board the helicopter, which had taken off just moments before from the stadium. The helicopter spiralled out of control before crashing.
Pictures and video posted on social media showed flames and smoke billowing into the air from the stadium parking lot.
Leicester police said in a statement: “We are dealing with an incident in the vicinity of the King Power Stadium. Emergency services are aware and dealing.”
Vichai bought the club in 2010, and the side won the Premier League title in 2016.
