Investment / The Layman's Guide To Understanding "Economic Recession" by djyoungmoney(m): 10:35am On Apr 20, 2020
The International Monetary Fund, IMF has in recent weeks projected that Nigeria’s economy might face the worst economic recession in 30 years. IMF further stated that Nigeria’s economy will likely recede by 3% in 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic, which has disrupted global supply network. All of these projections and forecasts will definitely have an impact on businesses and individuals alike. Hence a reason for coming up with this post to explain to the layman in simple terms what “Economic Recession” is by highlighting its effects, benefits, and tips for surviving the period for both individuals and businesses.

According to the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), a private economic research organization, economic recession is defined as "a significant decline in economic activity spread across the economy, lasting more than a few months (usually two consecutive quarters), normally evidenced in real GDP, real income, employment, industrial production, and wholesale-retail sales (indicators measuring the economic well-being of a nation)". However, for the purpose of explaining how economic recession occurs, the real GDP will be used in this breakdown because real GDP gives information about the size of an economy and how well an economy is performing. When real GDP is growing strongly, employment is likely to be increasing as companies hire more workers for their factories and people have more money in their pockets (real income). From the elementary Economics in our secondary schools, GDP is calculated as:
GDP = Household Consumption (C) + Business Investment (I) + Government Spending (G) + Exports (X) - Imports (M)

Breaking the formula down

(i) Household consumption (C)
As a result of the lock down in various cities across Nigeria, there has been an increase in the purchase of basic food items, which is expected to serve as a means of survival for individuals and their families in the lockdown period. However, there is a sharp decline in the consumption of other non-essential commodities and services such as Entertainment, Sports, Transportation etc. In in an online post by dailypost.com on May 2nd 2019, it predicted the unemployment rate is expected to be standing at a whopping 33.5 percent for the year 2020 which is without considering the effects of Covid-19 on the unemployment rate. This means more individuals are likely to lose their jobs and means of livelihood which indicates a likelihood of a further drop on Household consumption. when all of these factors are put together, Household consumption will likely end up with a negative figure.

(ii) Business Investments (I)
The new trend since the beginning of the Covid- 19 era is that a lot of businesses have embraced remote working environment for their staffs which has made some businesses invest heavily on IT. However due to the uncertainty that surrounds the future, a lot of businesses have suspended plans for major expansion, recruitment and developmental projects which summarily means that the private sector isn't pumping as much funds into the economy. Without enough investing activities from the private sector, business investment is also likely to end up in a negative figure.

(iii) Government Spending (G)
The major expenditure heads gulping majority of government funds presently are Health care, Citizen welfare etc. The income from crude oil, which is the major revenue earner for the government has encountered a sharp reduction, and with economic activities not moving at an optimal pace, other sources of Government revenue(Taxes, Business Incorporation fees etc.) are also suffering a sharp reduction.which ultimately means there will be lesser funds to embark on capital projects, developmental projects which will yield returns for the government and its citizenry in the long run. All of these factors highlighted above indicates that Government spending is likely going to end up negative.
(iv) Exports (X)
Nigeria’s major export is crude oil, and in recent times there has been a drop in the price of crude oil which means there is little income coming in from Nigeria’s major export and ultimately this means that figures from exports will likely be ending up in the negative as well

(v) Import(I)
Nigeria is highly import dependent, our major import partners(China, USA etc) are all currently on lock down which translate to low income from import duties and other import generating charges to the government. Due to the drop in revenue from import related activities, there will likely be a negative figure here too.

The addition of all these forecasted negative figures will likely put the GDP on a negative figure. If this trend continues for two consecutive quarters, there is the likelihood of the economy going into recession.

Effects of economic recession
According to an article titled “impact of economic recession” written by Tejvan Pettinger, the 2009 recession hit the financial sector the hardest. Many highly-paid ‘white-collar’ workers lost their jobs. Banks saw large-scale losses and falls in profit. It hit the housing sector very hard. However the effects of the 2020 recession is predicted to be different. Below are some of the expected effects of `the 2020 Recession.

(i) Increase in unemployment
Businesses are not making profit as they used to and as a result will need to cut certain costs so as to enable them at least break even. One of such decisions might be to downsize their workforce leading to job loss for many persons.

(ii) Increase in mortgage payment default
Due to job losses, individuals have limited income sources and will find it difficult to meet their day to day obligations. Also repayments of mortgage loans might become difficult which might lead to losing their homes which is financed through various mortgage loans facilities. Other effects include:

(iii) Increase in government borrowing
The Overall revenue of government has dropped as a result of the downward trend of economic activities. In order for government to continue running the economy, government will be forced to borrow from available sources and in the long run, the cost of servicing these debts might eat into government revenue which should be used for other developmental projects.

(iv) Increase in Liquidation rates.
Cost of doing business is expected to increase. With a lot of business not been able to cope with the rising cost of operating their businesses, they will eventually fold up and cease to exists.

(v)Increase in bankruptcy rates
Individuals who have invested and work for liquidated companies will loose their investments and means of livelihood. Individuals who has lost their means of livelihood might find it difficult to pay their debt obligations due to a decrease in their sources of income hence filing for bankruptcy.

Benefit of economic recession
The only benefit of an economic recession is that it helps in curbing inflation (that is, a persistent rise in the average prices of goods and services).

Tips for surviving Recession.
(i) Have an Emergency fund saved somewhere.
Recession comes with uncertainties and job losses are expected to happen as a result of these uncertainties. It is advised that an emergency fund, worth about three (3) months’ salary, should be saved to enable an individual cope in case of a job loss and other emergencies that might arise.
(ii) Develop a budget and cut down your debt.
Income sources are likely to shrink which might make it difficult to get enough fund to service your personal or business debts obligations. It is advised you develop a budget to cut down on some spending areas which might give you enough room to have some spare funds to meet your debt obligations.
(iii)Begin to practice a frugal lifestyle.
Living a minimalist lifestyle will never go out of fashion, it is very important to practice living a modest lifestyle when the recession hits. Living a modest lifestyle doesn't necessarily mean depriving yourself of the things you enjoy most in life, it is just basically making choices that reduces your expenses to the barest minimum. For example, a family having two cars with very high fuel consumptions level could go ahead and sell one of the cars to buy a car with a lesser fuel consumption level to save cost on fuel and servicing, instead of eating out which is most times very expensive you could decide to eat more at home etc.
(iv)Practice the customer first approach
The recession period is not a time to lose customers to your competitors. In order to keep your existing customers, who in the long run will bring new customers, doing everything to keep your customers satisfied should be one of your important priorities at this period. Satisfying your customers’ need will definitely attract new customers which translates to more sales and higher profits.

(v) Avoid unnecessary price cuts
Sometimes making unnecessary price cuts could entice more customers but in the long run, profit, which should be reinvested in making the business grow, is bitten into as a result of the price cut.which ultimately brings about a slow or Negative growth in your business which you will want to avoid at the recession period. Instead device a flexible payment plan for your customers to enable them pay over a certain period of time.

Business / Why Businesses In Africa Don't Stand The Test Of Time by djyoungmoney(m): 11:47pm On Oct 31, 2016
Have you ever thought of why businesses like Nestle,Coca cola have stood the test of time and are still in existence till today?.Then come to the African setting is there any business you can point to that has being in existence for over a 100 years?. well here are a few personal thoughts on why business here in Africa don't stand the test of time.

Religious/family/ethic sentiments
As much good religion, family and ethnicity has played in the African setting, it has also caused a lot of backwardness in the African society. Once a business is opened in Africa, the church/mosque,family,will be quick to present you with a candidate they want you to employ into such business whether such an individual is qualified or not. Employing such unqualified individual as a result of trying to please the family or religion is the beginning of the failure of the business. Sometimes our religious beliefs has made us belief certain things are sacred and has such should not be allowed to thrive in the society and at the end, certain businesses are killed with such beliefs.

Political Instability
Most countries in Africa are not having a stable political system. A new government comes in today and fails to continue with the existing policies of the previous government instead they will prefer to enact a new policy whether it’s comfortable for the business environment or not

Most businesses are funded with stolen or embezzled money
There is an adage in my native language that says ‘’whatever you didn’t strive for won’t last’’. Believe me or not, at some point or the other, there will probes by the government into stolen funds which will lead to seizing of assets and closing down of businesses funded by these funds and once these businesses are taken over by the government, the life of such a business comes to an end. An example is what is currently going on in Nigeria with the seizing of assets and business enterprises from past politicians and government workers.

Failure to groom the upcoming generation on matters relating to the business
There is always a saying that the youths are the leaders of tomorrow but I can say that doesn’t apply in the African setting. The present leaders of today have become so selfish and self-centered they have refused to train the youths and groom them so as make them capable to take over these businesses in the foreseeable future when these present leaders die, the young man who wasn’t given the adequate training on how to handle the business gets into the positions of authority and he/she is unable to perform which eventually kills the business.

Putting profit before customers Interest
Companies like Nestle, Coca cola that have been in existence for over 100 years are still existing because they have always put the interest of their customers before the issue of making profits comes in.For most businesses on our side of the world, the issue of profit is usually rated high above customers interest or expectations and if you fail to meet the needs of your customers, they will eventually stop buying from you and patronize foreign goods that satisfies their needs

We have refused to develop what we call our own
Sometimes I would like to say we Africans are our own problems. We have a belief that whatever a business that’s located in our continent produces is sub-standard and has a result, we prefer to patronize
foreign made goods which eventually kills our own businesses back here in Africa. An average African prefers to travel abroad and work with a foreign business enterprise instead of working and improving a business enterprise that’s located back in Africa.

Business / Why You Should Maintain Loyalty With One Bank by djyoungmoney(m): 8:58pm On Oct 09, 2016
Sometimes we tend to want to move one from bank to the other for reasons best known to us but at the same time, here are a few reasons to have a rethink and stick that one bank of yours.

Easy access to loan and other credit facilities
The longer you have stayed with a bank, the easier it will be for you to have access to loan and other credit facilities. You can’t expect to jump from one bank to the other and expect them to give you the same access to loan or other credit facilities has a customer who has been banking with them for years.

Bank could be of benefit.
I will share a little personal experience here, when I was in search of placement for my IT some years back, the only reason I was given an opportunity to work with a certain Nigerian bank was because I had a relative who had been a loyal customer of the bank for a very long time which made the bank consider my application and eventually allowed me observe my IT with them.

Less openness to scam and other financial fraud
Jumping from one bank to the other isn’t only stressful but believe me you are only creating opportunities for too many people to know what your financial status is and believe me the more people know about your financial status, the more open you are to scam and other financial fraud.

Payment of Dividend and other benefits from years past

At some point in your life, you must have submitted your bank account details with a particular organisation that should be paying you some amount of money at a later date, changing your bank might make getting your money across to you quite difficult or making it totally impossible.

Business / Why Nigerians Don't Patronize Made In Nigeria Products by djyoungmoney(m): 1:07am On Aug 15, 2016
There as been recent calls by the Government and concerned Nigerians calling on Nigerians to Buy Goods made in Nigeria so as to make the Naira Stronger. The fact still remains that Nigerians prefer to buy Foreign goods instead of Nigerian Made. Here are some of the reason why Nigerians have refused to buy Made in Nigeria Products

Discrimination
Sometimes we are our own problems. Most people see goods made in Nigeria as inferior and not up to standard to goods made in other country and as a result decide not buy Made in Nigeria Products . For those who are willing to purchase this made in Nigeria goods, get discriminated for example with sayings like ‘’Na Aba made the guy dey wear’’ and as a result of this stop buying made in Nigeria goods to avoid the embarrassment of wearing ‘Aba made’

Quality
No one will ever want to buy a product that is of low quality. Most made in Nigeria products are of low quality either as a result of the producers trying to make bigger profit or over management of resources. For instance you cannot expect a Nigerian to purchase a bag of rice which half of it is filled with stones and other dirt rather the Nigeria will prefer to purchase a bag of rice that is produced elsewhere and stone free.

Poor Advertisement/Awareness
Advertisement is king. Most Nigeria producers and manufacturers always fail to recognize the importance of advertising, how would a Nigerian know there are products produced in Nigeria, that satisfy their needs when the proper Advertisement is not done to bring the existence of such product to their notice. Since there is no awareness concerning such product, they will buy goods made outside Nigeria which proper form of advertisement and awareness is available for.

Price
Nigerian producers and manufactures are to be blamed for this. Sometimes they t want to make quick money or super normal profit and in the process increase the prices of their goods to the level of ones produced in other countries. Why will a Nigerian want to buy a good ‘X’ produced in Nigeria whose price is more than that which is produced outside Nigeria. Goods produced within the country should be cheaper and not outrageously high.

Poor After sales Services

If you purchase a Toyota Car today, be rest assured that there are many authorized outlets such as Elizade Motors where you can service or maintain your Toyota car in most parts of Nigeria. If for example you purchase an innoson vehicle which is produced in Nigeria but doesn’t have authorized servicing outlets where you can service or maintain the vehicle, you will definitely be discouraged to buy the innoson car produced in Nigeria and rather opt for the Toyota vehicles instead.

Business / People Least Feeling Nigeria's Harsh Economy by djyoungmoney(m): 8:34pm On Aug 08, 2016
We all know things are not alright with the economy of the country as of now but in spite of this hard times, there still some set of people who are not really feeling the heat of the harsh economy.see the list after the cut .

Internet Fraudsters
Well they actually deserve to be top of the list because I don’t even think they are feeling the harsh economy one bit. They get paid in dollar and other foreign currencies which are pretty much stronger than the Naira in hundred places so you can imagine how much they make right now . Buying whatever they wish to buy in the country isn’t an issue. No wonder night Club owners, bar owners are not complaining because these boys are capable on of buying the whole bar in one night and even buy the most expensive cars in town.

Bar /Night Club Owners
Certainly the harsh economy will make various organisations lay its staff off and this is even happening in Banks, Oil companies and the rest. As Nigerians are known, they always believe Alcohol is a solution to a lot of things and this will encourage someone who just lost his job drink to stupor just to ‘’Erase’’ the bad memory or Forget about the pain of losing his /her job. As mention earlier internet fraudsters who are at the advantage of the dollar to the naira are always ready to party and buy as much drinks as possible.

Fake Religious Clerics
Businesses are crashing, organisations are laying people off, definitely there will be a lot of panicking and worries the next thing is to seeking spiritual help from an Alfa, Pastor etc to pray or help you out so they don’t lay you off from work or your business wont collapse .Well am sure we all know these people don’t pray for free , there will always be a vision they will see about you that will enable them source money from you, they will have somethings to purchase to help you ‘’Beg’’ God too .In desperation, the cost of praying, averting that fake vision they claim to have seen and buying Goat from the market wouldn’t even matter to you as long as they will help you talk to God and your job or business goes on fine. Why not just talk to God yourself.

Bakery owners
After Garri the next food that people survive on is bread. There is hardly a Nigerian home where they will tell you they don’t eat bread. Even food vendors the likes of the ‘’Ewa agoyin’’ sellers and the rest make bread a very important part of their daily sales. Well no matter the cost of flour and other things involved in baking the Bread, Bakery owners will break even at worse even if they don’t make profit.

Police officers
A man who just lost his job or his business isn’t going on well would be very frustrated and once you are frustrated you get provoked at the slightest opportunity which can result in fights and public disturbance. Well the police is always your friend they will help you settle the issue at the station and am sure you know they don’t settle issues for free .Many people will get drunk as a result of losing their jobs or their businesses not going well and stupidly they will still drive drunk and eventually get involved in an accident which will involve the police impounding their vehicles and remember your vehicle or motorcycle won’t be kept at the police station for free you will pay to bail it.

Psychiatric hospitals

Over thinking and other result of the harsh economy can lead to serious depression and over thinking which can cause mental issues. Am sure you wouldn’t keep someone who is mad at home with you. It’s the psychiatric hospitals that will take care of such people and yes it’s not free of charge to take care of a mentally disturbed person.

feel free to add yours

Sports / Facts About The Olympics by djyoungmoney(m): 2:35pm On Aug 05, 2016
As today marks the official opening of the Rio Olympic games,it wont be a bad idea if you get to know some interesting facts about the Olympics games you never knew about .Enjoy!

The first Olympics, which got started in ancient Greece, only allowed men to take part.

London is the first city to have ever hosted the modern Olympics three time in addition to being the first city to hold the Paralympics which took place in 1948.

Dimitrios Loundras was a Greek gymnast who took part in the Athens Olympics held in 1896. Young Dimitrios won a bronze medal for his efforts, and to this day he still remains the youngest Olympic competitor and medalist on record. He was 10 years and 218 days old as of the time

Oscar swahn, a Swedish shooting expert, won his first Olympic medal in 1908, when he was 60-year-old.He however went ahead to compete in more Olympics.

Electrical timing devices were used for the first time at the 1920 Games in Stockholm.

Starting blocks were used for sprinting races for the first time at the 1948 Olympics.

The Olympic Anthem, which is played when the Olympic Flag is raised during the opening ceremony, was composed by Spyridon Samar. Its lyrics are taken from a poem written by Greek poet Kostis Palamas.

The gold medals awarded at the Olympics aren’t really made out of real Gold, In fact they are actually silver in gold plaiting. well this isn’t a matter to worry about as long as the honor and pride of winning an Olympic event is there.

The United States has won more medals (2,189) at the Summer Games than any other country.

The five Olympic rings represent the five major regions of the world – Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania, and every national flag in the world includes one of the five colors, which are (from left to right) blue, yellow, black, green, and red.

Three continents – Africa, South America, and Antarctica – have never hosted an Olympics.

The Summer Olympic sports are archery, badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, boxing, canoe / kayak, cycling, diving, equestrian, fencing, field hockey, gymnastics, handball, judo, modern pentathlon (shooting, fencing, swimming, show jumping, and running), mountain biking, rowing, sailing, shooting, soccer, swimming, synchronized swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, track and field, triathlon (swimming, biking, running), volleyball, water polo, weightlifting, and wrestling.

The most decorated Olympian is United States Swimmer Michael Phelps with a total of 22 Gold medals in just three Olympic games.

Golf returns to the Olympics after about 112 year absence from the games.

Travel / Why Nigerians Abroad Fail To Visit/return To Their Father Land by djyoungmoney(m): 11:08pm On Jul 31, 2016
We all have at least one family or Friend who is currently abroad, they might have been there for years or a couple of months for some. But there is this issue of why some of them don’t ever want to visit Nigeria their native land again. Well I complied some reasons which I feel is the cause of this.

They have started a new family
One of the major reasons why Nigerians travel to any other countries outside Nigeria is because they want become citizens.one of the fastest and safest ways is to get married to a citizen of that country. In the process of doing so they might have lied to the wife they left at home that they are single and just hoping they get the citizenship in other ways or they might have lied to the other new wife they weren’t married or had even given birth back at home. Travelling back home they know might expose them and make them loose on both ends so they always decide to stay back abroad.

Living a Fake life
Some Nigerians living abroad will even go to the extent of telling you they eat breakfast, lunch and dinner with the president of that country they are in and all other sort of lies just to make them look rich and comfortable to the people they left behind at home (Nigeria). In the real sense, believe me life isn’t even easy for them. Even an individual that’s living in Nigeria is better off. When the time comes for them to come home they tend to come up with stories about why they can’t come home but in the real sense they just haven’t become successful like they claimed.

Fear of Spiritual Attack and Assassination
The average Nigerian Believes once your status has been elevated a little then there is a threat to your life either spiritually or physically. Nigerians living abroad are not left out on this believe too and as a result they tend to have a rethink on visiting their native land due to the fear of Assassination or spiritual attack. Even the ones that eventually visit move around with entourages bigger than that of our president lool.

Scammed someone close to them
A family member or friend might have sent them some money to help in purchasing a car or some other things but they have scammed this family member or associate or close friend and didn’t purchase anything. Am sure you know an individual like that will have to think twice before he leaves that foreign land to visit Nigeria because of fear or repercussion of what he has done.

Fear of starting new challenge
Starting up something afresh can be more difficult than imagined. Some Nigerians have spent years abroad and have settled into that country they are. The fear of returning home to start another life sometimes discourages them to eventually come back.

Said bye to the stressful life
Na who no like better thing? We have to be honest, things are very hard and stressful in the country right now. Some of the people who have traveled out seem to be enjoying the quite easy and stress free life, even if for constant power supply alone. The thoughts of coming back to face the hassle and bustle of things around here will I must say scares them and so they tend not to even come around at all.

Lost Hope in Nigeria
Some Nigerians have traveled and have seen the better side of life and for reasons known to them, they think it’s totally impossible for their home country to attain the level which the country they are in now have achieved and so they totally forget about returning home .

Travel / Are You New In That Neighborhood?Read This by djyoungmoney(m): 12:36am On Jul 25, 2016
well at some point or the other there is always the need to move from one neighborhood to another due to many reason.you might start to wonder how to adapt fast enough and blend into life in that new place well here are some points pertaining to that

1 Familiarize with an elderly person.

There is always an elderly man or woman in that neighborhood that everyone respects both young and old. Believe me there are some hoods where once the hood boys notices you as a jjc they will do everything to extort money from you or even make your life miserable. You can’t fight them because you are new on that street and you are even out numbered. The best way out of that mess is just to try and familiarize yourself with that old and respected individual am sure he knows how to call anyone making life miserable for you into order

2 Have a reliable bike man (okada man)

You will need to get around and get to know certain important places like the market and a few important places and if you will agree with me I can say there is no place in that neighborhood that that okada man won’t know, try and be on the lookout and familiarize yourself with one you can call whenever you need to get to places you don’t know but be careful with them though they could be dangerous.

3 Have a particular customer you buy things from.

There are certain days you might be broke on that your new Street so I will advise you have one particular customer you buy things from when you are ‘’gallant’’ either the canteen woman or the kiosk owner. Believe me it would be easy to secure things on credit from them on that day when money no dey.

4 Be familiar with a good chemist or hospital to Register.

Life can be unpredictable sometimes. You could develop a very severe health issue that could require you visiting the hospital at mid night or for emergency situations.Am sure you won’t want to wait till such occurrences happen before you register at a nearby hospital in that your new neighborhood. Register early enough to save your life and save yourself unnecessary panicking

5 Attend a Church/Mosque

At some points you will need people to socialise with and share some of your issues with. Try and join a church or mosque where you can talk to God and do other spiritual activities. Sometimes churches and mosques are known to come to the aid of their members during financial difficulties and other challenges so make haste and be on the lookout for a good church in that neighborhood.

6 Know the nearest Police Station

Believe me in as much as we try to avoid police wahala at one point or the other they are still the ones we call on at some bad moments. Try and know where a police station is in that neighborhood at one point or the other believe me you will need them.

7 Take a stroll around the neighborhood whenever you can
You could just decide to stroll around the neighborhood on evenings when you are free through that you will discover a few things that will help you adjust and fit in into the new neighborhood well.

8 Mind your business.

You just packed to that street and everyone knows you at every beer parlor, every gossip joints am telling you, you are creating hell for yourself already because unnecessary attention will bring about a lot of insult and could bring wahala when dem start to dey pack that olofofo squad or the people police met at the bar.

9 Open your eye and ears like it’s not opened

There might be a newspaper stand where people gather and discus a lot of things and am sure you know sometimes the information at the news stand pass goggle own lol.its not necessary you stand there and listen, just by passing by you could catch a thing or two from those discussing that could be of help

10 Partake in street or neighborhood meetings.

Every street always as a meeting at one point or the other to discuss issues that concern the street try and find out from your neighbors when such meetings take place there you will get familiar with people and adjust to the new neighborhood quickly.

Crime / Places You Should Never Drop Your Guard As A Nigerian by djyoungmoney(m): 8:53am On Jul 18, 2016
This are just a few places where I feel a Nigerian shouldn’t be told to be very sharp and observant.

Petrol station.
Imagine visiting a filling station wanting to buy fuel or kerosene or diesel. You will need to place close attention to the pump attendants cos they could be very cunny. Most times whenever they finish selling the product to a customer before you, they will deliberately not put the fuel dispenser to a starting position and will just continue to sell from where the point of the sale of the last person they sold to stopped. So In this case you have to look closely at the fuel dispenser to make sure it has been rest back to the figure 0000 before they start selling to you.

Clubs.
Yes you go to the club to enjoy and feel relaxed but if you get too carried away your valued possessions could be gone in minutes. Take note of that individual who barges into you on the dance floor pretending to be tipsy or drunk my brother in the process of barging into you he might have picked your pocket but due to the fact you are carried away with that beautiful with a big back side rocking you, you tend to overlook it, no worry after club nobody go tell you before you go begin find your wallet or phone.
Mechanic or Auto garage
You have decided to go an auto market to change one particular part of your car. My brother once you invite that dealer or mechanic to come and loosen that part so he can take it into the market be very careful and in fact try and follow him so that car part you won’t be exchanged with a bad one within the twinkle of an eye

Church/night vigil
Am sure you are surprised to see this on the list abi.For those who take their phones to church to charge and just leave it where you are charging without checking up or spying at it from time to time one day your monkey go go market e no go return o lol. There are people who are in that your church just waiting for the service to end and hope everywhere gets rowdy and use that opportunity to pick one phone from that spot where all the phones and electronic devices are charged in the church. To avoid this make sure you are very close to your phone and if it’s impossible, sit close to it try and peep or stand up to check the phone from time to time.

Taxi(danfo, Molue)
You board a taxi and you think you are free from all those pickpockets abi? You are wrong even in that danfo or taxi where you sit there are people waiting for you to just loose guard and take that your priced possession from you. Some Taxis and Danfos have spaces in between the chairs and for those who prefer to put their phone and wallet in the back pocket am sorry for you o this professional pick pockets will surely have a way to remove that thing from your pocket in such a manner you won’t even feel the slightest touch. Na when time reach to pay that agbero conductor you go begin narrate as you take waka till you enter the bus

Market
Am sure we have all been to the market at one point or the other if you look closely on entrance to the market you will sight some boys who might just approach you and tell you they know where you can get that thing you came to the market to buy.No follow them They could pretend to be taking you to that shop where you will buy that Product and just take you to a certain corner of the market where they will dispossess you of all your valuables at gun point or at even Axe point Lool.

Parties(owanbe)
When you are at that party and you start to get carried away because of the party jollof and the drink you will pack home and you neglect your bag and valuables on the table to follow that guy taking food past your table don’t be surprised Your bag and valuables might have been taken home as souvenirs by those boys wey don dey watch you as you dey do gragra on top jollof rice, so whenever you are at that party just relax and keep calm the rice go reach you and if not take it in good faith another owanbe is coming soon.
Street carnival/crusade.
Your street carnival or crusade is here again wow una go flex well well that day. But that carnival is not a place where you decide to go ad show off all those your expensive gadgets to the world. In some hoods the boys there are so cunny they become instant friends with you,get you drunk and the next day you will probably meet yourself in the gutter with all those gadgets you bought with your life savings gone just like that.

Gsm market/Tech market
The likes of computer village and Alaba market falls in this category. They have just showed you that IPhone 6+ and you have tested it and you really like it and instantly you paid for it.when it’s time to pack the phone into its case no allow them go do am for inside shop where your eye no fit reach o if not na FuFu or Eba you go meet inside as you reach house, you fit take the eba or fufu with the soup wey remain for house to take console yourself.

Soccer viewing centres
You are going to watch a soccer match at a viewing centre at night and you decide to Go with the likes of your ipad and iphone and the rest and probably the match will be finishing at 11pm or even later than that my brother once you are done and on your way home don’t be surprised some big bros wey don dey eye that thing for your hand since una dey watch match fit block you for road o.

Banks
Due to lack of patience to withstand a que in the banking hall, you decide to give that money to a total stranger I the bank because it’s almost his/her turn and you are so confident and stupid to leave the bank immediately. No worry na for your dream you go receive the deposit alert. Even if you will give your deposit to someone who is almost at the front of the cashier make sure you stand and a corner in the bank and observe he as paid and even collect the evidence of payment afterwards from the person.

This are just my opinion and as it is said no man is an island, feel free to add yours it could help someone somehow have a nice week ahead. Check out more informative stuffs on www.gistquaters.com

Sports / A Few Interesting Facts Promoting The NPL by djyoungmoney(m): 8:34am On Jul 07, 2016
These are just a few interesting facts we all need to know about the Nigeria premier league. Let’s try and support our own league to reach the standard of other European leagues and competitions

The league was founded in 1972 with six teams. On 12 May 1990 at the Onikan Stadium Lagos, the league was rechristened the "Professional League" with a goal to modernize the game and make clubs self-sufficient.

Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, founded in 1950, is the oldest football club in the current Nigeria top league. History.

The first winners of the Nigerian Premier League was Mighty Jets of Jos. They won the title in 1972.

The team that emerges winners of the Nigerian Premier Football League, will be N80 million (more than $400,000) richer cumulative, according to the League Management Company (LMC). The winners of the league on final day of action will pocket N30 million.

In the 2010–11 season Jude Aneke of Kaduna United became the first player to score 20 goals in a season. The present best ever, though, is 2014 top scorer, Mfon Udoh of Enyimba with 23 goals.

After the 2006 competition, the league changed its calendar to more closely match the common European regular season structure (starting around August and ending around May).

The League Management Company was formed in 2012 to take over the affairs of the league following the collapse of the Nigeria Premier League organized by the Nigeria Football League (NFL).

In 2012 the NPL was ranked as the best in Africa and 24th best in the world by the IFFHS, the rating puts the NPL above the Scottish league for that year.

On May 2013, Lagosian telecommunications company Globacom signed a three-year contract with the league to become its title sponsor. Thus the league is now officially known as the Glo Premier League

In 2015, the League Management Company solicited financial support from the Government financially in order to "upgrade of existing grounds and provision of required broadcast equipment and facilities in the stadiums which as seen the likes of supersport covering some selected matches and broadcasting live on DSTV

Enyimba of Aba have been the most crowned kings of the NPL with seven(7) championship wins to their names with the most recent one coming in 2015.

Joetex Frimpong of Ghana is the only foreign player to have been crowned the highest goal scorer in the NPL and this happened in the year 2002 season where he scored a total of 16 goals for the season.
Team Relegated from the Nigeria premier League are Relegated to The Nigeria National League
