Politics / Re: Are You Loyal To Nigeria Or Your Ethnicity? by dnex(m): 12:53am On Sep 17, 2009
I don't owe any loyalty to my ethnicity. I'm just intrigued by the rich history and culture. My loyalty is first to Africa then Nigeria.
Politics / Re: Federal Govt Please Stop Sony Entertainment. by dnex(m): 12:26pm On Sep 08, 2009
I just wanted to be sure cos a couple of days back, there was some kind of glitch when I tried to post on Nairaland.

Now though I've discovered that posters that don't support Sony in their madness are strategically blocked from posting in order to skew the discussion.

Seun, is this not childish and extremely petty? Is this how you see successful forums managing their affairs?

This same issue is being thrashed out on Facebook and I cannot imagine Mark Zuckerberg coming to delete posts because they don't carry his opinions.

I also want to make it clear that there are some members of this forum who may be privileged to post on this site in order to have their wound of ignorance cured by knowledge, I'm not here to exercise a privilege, I'm here to carry a burden and really I'm getting tired of the morons whose burden am trying to bear heaping more on me.

My "nex" ID which has just been banned was not registered by me because I wanted to enjoy the privilege of posting, it was because the owner of Nairaland begged me to join in order to earn his daily bread.

But now the bread is probably overflowing his table, my posting here has become a privilege to me. No wonder you people are so sure that your forum will never reach 10 million members.

Next thing, you will stretch out your wretched fingers and type "Why Is Nigeria Not Working?".
Politics / Re: Dr Fasehun " Federal Government Owes The Troubled Banks 3.2 Trillion Naira" by dnex(m): 3:21am On Sep 05, 2009
When you congregate with the likes of Gani Adams, you must begin to think and talk like him.

I was concerned as to whether the man knew what N3.2 trillion was.

Dividing $220 by 5 will give $44 billion. 1 Nigerian bank, $44 billion. That's more than three times the capital base of the top three banks is South Africa.
Celebrities / Re: Whose Nairaland Id Is The Coolest And Sexiest? by dnex(m): 1:48pm On Jul 04, 2009
I think my old ID was the coolest: denex

that of course was before the holocaust of bannings.

I think iice, mamajama and candylips are tight though.
Politics / Re: What Really Is Biafra? by dnex(m): 3:30pm On Jul 03, 2009
Yes, thank you very much. I have found what I'm looking for.

Somewhere in Cameroun, I'm sure there still is a tribe that may be able to translate this word.

By the time I'd searched everywhere for a translation of Biafra and found none, I began to suspect it may have been a Camerounian or Guinean word.

I am satisfied.
TV/Movies / Re: Any Movie producer in the house by dnex(m): 1:16pm On Jul 03, 2009
You need to contract a script writer to turn you experience or story into a script of screenplay first so you have a tangible product to show the producers you will be meeting.

Nobody will ask you to narrate the story of a movie you want them to shoot, unless you're Al Pacino.

Okay.
Politics / Re: Breaking News.! Yaradua Is ------ by dnex(m): 10:42am On Jul 03, 2009
When you get to the station, you will explain to Corporal Goroso the difference between Statement and Question by writing a questionable police state before having a comfortable night rest in Cell 15
Politics / Re: Is Yaradua Dead? by dnex(m): 10:22am On Jul 03, 2009
See as all una love Yar'Adua now.

When he's trying to stay alive, you curse him to die. Now he wants to die, you hope he'll live.
Politics / Re: Breaking News.! Yaradua Is ------ by dnex(m): 10:14am On Jul 03, 2009
Y'all want to get Seun arrested and Nairaland shut down abi?

Politics / Re: What Really Is Biafra? by dnex(m): 9:56am On Jul 03, 2009
Okay my brother, 'it is do' . Though I really was seeking meaning on this thread, but since it has caused so much inflammation. I give it up.

Take it easy O!
Politics / Re: Why Did Obj Force Yar Adua On Us? by dnex(m): 8:03am On Jul 03, 2009
Shey you see these people? 2011 has not come and they've already surrendered. Then they will say it is Yar'Adua that imposed Jonathan on us.

Politics / Re: What Really Is Biafra? by dnex(m): 3:10am On Jul 03, 2009
@Ibime

na wah for you O! I knew I'd seen this ID somewhere before. So it is you whom we share poetry together and learn from each other that this word Biafra has now brought out the beast in? I can't believe this. If this is how serious the Biafran matter has gotten, then I think it's time you people went your way.

Have you ever wonder how your Hausa neighbour whom you gist with everyday can just turn around at the mention of Allahu Akbar and draw a dagger o you, that's you can pull a gun at your Edo neighbour whom you share a beer and some literature with at the mention of Biafra. Byebye.
Poems For Review / Lagos Traffic by dnex(m): 2:15am On Jul 03, 2009
Lagos Traffic, I hail you sir
CMS to Ikeja, only four hours
None can fathom how you perfected this art
Not even Fashola and his band of technocrats

Military sirens render music to thy ears
Honking motor horns only the baseline instrument
Flooding perspiration from our brows merely thy interest whet
You go out of your way to make of men beasts of burden

All of your agents strategically located
A dodgy pothole here, the eveready LASTMA there
Not forgetting of course your very favourite
The faithful twenty Naira roadblock a.k.a stop and search

I even hear you've mastered black magic
Conjuring the rains coincident to rush hour unfailingly.
They say your juju can also take control of a molue engine
Always in the cruelest corner to breakdown you lead it

Lagos Traffic, you're nothing short of a superstar
Everyone recounts the impact you've had on their lives
Without due consideration to you, no event can be planned
As far as I can tell, you're the master of our time

You've even made a profound mark on my social life
That quiet chick in customercare that I always liked,
She's asked about squatting a while in my flat
Most times I just hitch a ride to work with perfect strangers

Your efforts at a greener city have not gone unnoticed
We now opt out of our SUVs to take part in jumping buses
Even your massive roll-out of jobs is worthy of applause
Poverty alleviation for those who choose to beg, hawk or rob

Lagos Traffic, you keep me company on these dangerous streets
Wherever I turn, you never fail to be there already
In vain I tried to bypass you through Epe
For behold at Ikorodu Junction you patiently awaited

Abeg jare, you're getting too possessive for my liking
Always following when I dare go out the office
Checking out which chick I spend lunch hour with
For the times I'm out the house, you're just another momsie

You play gooseberry on all of my dates
Like a chaperone keeping all my excesses curtailed
You're the catalyst ensuring I make of time no waste
I reach for the lips before you decide it's too late

At night I relive the pains of an outing with you.
The ache in every joint from hours spent in a curve
An irregular tan evident of sitting one-sided to the sun
A handful of Made-In-China toys that my nieces don't want

I thank you sir, for the lessons I've learnt
The virtue of awaking early as four a.m,
The discipline to cut down on my daily dose of CNN
And the patience of keeping my temper back home at ten

But too much familiarity is never a good thing
Absence makes the heart fonder, presence's a bitch
We do love you, but why not make us miss you a bit
Please sir, take a break till the Fourth Mainland Bridge

These Okadas now disrespect you with death defying gimmicks
Though I see you havent' spared them fatal injuries
And this Stubborn Lagos government and their heretic BRT
But crossing that yellow line Lagos dirvers can't resist

All I ask is just a little time off your schedule so hectic
Just a small holiday maybe till New Years' eve
You must be tired sir, why not take you a trip?
You'r cousin in New York I hear is having a feat

Lagos Traffic, I'm undoubtedly your biggest fan
There's not a thing I do without you on my mind
Not an excuse I need that in you I cannot find
So not even you can keep me too busy to appreciate that
