The hypocrisy of a certain region, they claim only Igbos migrate to their region for help, they claim they are the only accommodating tribe in Nigeria.

But during election Igbos were attacked for just coming out to vote in Lagos and they justified it, we have Yorubas who voted all over the south east without hinderance, no report of a single attack on them, but yet they claim they Igbos are the bad people.

I've been to 15 states in Nigeria my whole life, and one thing I always notice is, Untarred roads, Lack of drainage system, Lack of proper planning e.t.c

Which always make me curious, Why does everywhere in Nigeria look like it got hit by a nuclear bomb? Why? Why don't we have modern streets and cities!!

Since the inception of Nigeria, I Don't think we have built any city, And please don't even mention Banana island, It's a piece of crap!!

It's sad that only about 3% of Nigeria is actually developed and the other 97% is just straight up piece of trash!!

IT IS NOT ABOUT NIGERIA, IT IS MORE ABOUT BLACK RACE! GO TO ANY BLACK DOMINATED PLACES IN AUSTRALIA, AMERICAS, ASIA AND EUROPE, YOU WILL THINK YOU ARE IN AFRICA; VERY BACKWARDS!

Investment / Tinubu Removes 5% Excise Duty On Telecom Operators Equipment by Donesuccess(m): 12:40pm On Jul 06, 2023
Tinubu Removes 5% Excise Duty on Telecom Operators Equipment

The outgoing Nigerian government said it has suspended the plan to impose a 5 percent excise duty on telecom equipment.

Isa Ali Pantami, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy said this was part of the telecom government’s resolve to review the number of taxes operators in the telecom industry are facing.

The government had set up the Presidential Review Committee on Excise Duty in the digital economy sector after operators and Pantami objected to the applicability of the excise duty. The committee chaired by Pantami recommended the removal of the excise duty to ease the burden of multiple taxation on the industry.

According to Pantami, the Committee had carried out its national assignment and accordingly submitted its report to the President, justifying why the sector should be exempted.

The Minister said the Committee’s submissions can be summed up in three arguments put forward to justify why additional burden in form of taxes or any level should not be imposed on the telecom sector to prevent a reversal of the important contribution the sector is making to the growth of the Nigerian economy.

“Our justifications are based on three premises: First, is the fact that operators in the telecoms sub-sector of the digital economy industry currently pay no fewer than 41 different categories of taxes, levies, and charges; secondly, that telecoms have continued to be a major contributor to the Nigerian economy in terms of Gross Domestic Product Contribution (GDP),” Pantami said.

The third ground for contesting the excise duty is the fact that despite the increase in the cost of all factors of production across the sector, which contributed to the increase in the costs of products and services, telecommunication is the only sector where the cost of service has been stable and in many cases continued to go down over the past years and therefore, adding more burden will destroy the sector.

Pantami said it was based on these grounds that President Muhammadu Buhari agreed to exempt the telecom sector from the list of sectors to pay the excise duty as stated in the Finance Act of 2021 and other subsidiary legislation. The minister said the exemption given to the telecom sector shall be sustained by the incoming administration as “the decision by the President is not about any political party or any administration but about Nigeria and welfare of Nigerian citizens.

The Minister further noted that the Digital Economy Sector has continued to contribute significantly to the growth of the Nigerian economy, having contributed 14.07 percent to the GDP in the first quarter of 2020; 17.79 percent in the second quarter of 2021; and 18.44 percent in the second quarter of 2022.

He said the sector has also increased its quarterly revenue generation for the government from N51 billion to over N480 billion, representing a growth of 594 percent; while the cost of buying data has also reduced from N1,200 in 2019 to N350 presently, despite the increase in the cost of operations, including the energy challenge that has caused mobile network operators to power base stations with over 32,000 power generating to provide seamless services to their teeming consumers.

Politics / Re: Sowore: 7 Days Later, Peter Obi Yet To Sue Gazette For "Yes Daddy" Audio by Donesuccess(m): 6:54pm On Apr 13, 2023
LegendHero:
The candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 presidential election, Omoyele Sowore, has said his Labour Party counterpart, Peter Obi, must tender a public apology to Peoples Gazette, an online newspaper, for denigrating and libelously slandering and ridiculing its efforts.

On Thursday, Sowore said Obi must tender the apology for failing to sue The Gazette over the leaked audio conversation the former Anambra governor had with the founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, as he had threatened.

The Gazette had published an audio conversation in which Obi told Bishop Oyedepo before the February 25 presidential election that the poll was a “religious war”. Obi could also be heard in the leaked audio saying “Yes, Daddy” several times in their conversation.

But Obi who was initially silent over the leaked audio conversation denied the audio and described it as fake and the handiwork of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He added that there had also been pressure on him to leave Nigeria after the elections. Obi who came third in the presidential election, therefore, threatened to take legal action against Peoples Gazette over the leaked audio conversation to press a charge for defamation and libel.

But reacting to Obi’s lawsuit threat, The Gazette’s Deputy Managing Editor, Boladale Adekoya, said the newspaper “stands by its publication”, adding that Obi wanted to force the medium into revealing the source of the leaked audio at trial but that they would protect the source to any length. Obi issued the threat on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, over a week ago.

However, Sowore observed that more than seven days after Obi's threat to sue Peoples Gazette over the publication of the leaked audio, Obi’s lawyers have not sent any letter asking for a retraction or apology over the publication.

According to Sowore, Obi’s threat is a mere distraction to enable him (Obi) to tell another lie.

Abike Dabiri saving Obi's ass!
