Education / Re: Which Is Heavier, A 1kg Of Gas Or A Kg Of Petrol? by drake2(m): 2:41pm On Dec 07
Richtaiwo:
Just like asking, which is heavier between 1kg and another 1kg. Mbok, 1kg is 1kg, no difference. None is heavier than the other.

1kg of cotton wool has the same weight as 1kg of metal, no difference.

Density and weight are different quantities. Perhaps you meant density, in which case, of course, petrol is higher.

You illustrated it better than everyone. The cotton wool and metal comparison.

You are a brilliant mind.
Many thanks!

Augustine2244:

Lol! Not so smart,Mr Lecturer,Drake2, Cassava stem cuttings don't need to be soaked in any solution before planting.
In my family compound,we plant both enhanced and local varieties of cassava without soaking and they grow up well.
Though the recent climatic conditions is stiffly scorching,in areas where atmospheric moisture still hangs during early December, cassava can still be planted, provided the heat is not too strong.

Augustine!; Does your compound cassava stem in the open air produce roots when not planted in the soil or in contact with solution?

Augustine read up what stimulates "rooting"

I leave ib the forest hinterlands. Shut up. Every day, truck loads of cassava stems are moved to the sites even today

Mumu Man!

This is the harvest season for cassava and coincidentally the best period for procurement of cuttings (cassava clones/planting materials)

Procured stems are not planted in the fields now but stored in jute bags under shades with constant watering to keep them alive for early rains in January.

If you dey Ibadan , and so what? I did all my degrees there in UI; where did u school m0ron?
Agriculture / Re: Can I Still Plant Cassava In Early December? by drake2(m): 5:47pm On Dec 03
Augustine2244:
Yes, you can.Cassava is a hardy drought resistant and tolerant crop which will thrive even in semi arid regions.
The cassava plants can survive by capturing water from morning mist and night.
Cassava is such a hardy crop that stem cuttings will sprout immediately on contact with moisture in the air, and will continue, while absorbing water from dew and mist in the dry season.
Hundreds of millions of people across Tropical Asia, Latin America and Africa depend on cassava as one of their major staple crops.
In these regions, cassava cultivation supports livelihood and generates income.
It's very easy to care for in cultivation, requiring less work.

Not so smart "Augustine". Many of you are missing the point.
To establish a new cassava population on any soil; you need the following:
1. Place your matured, frest stem with btw 5 to 7 nodes either in a water solution or soil with adequate moisture
2. The stored food reserve in the stem will undergo so many metabolic processes in the presence of absolved moisture to initiate the rooting process preparatory to the young plants feeding from the soil nutrients in solution by absorption, not by chewing CHO, NPK, Ca, Mg , S and other micro nutrients.
3. Useful microorganisms (VAM Fungi) can't survive without subsoil moisture
4. Newly planted cassava stem (completely buried horizontally or half buried vertically) can not utilize Augustine's mist, fog or dew ; there are no leaves on planted stems
5. If I ask you to stand in the current prevailing sunlight for 24 hrs; you will end up in the hospital. Talk more of cassava stem
6. Have u assessed soil temperature values recently? They are over r 45'C to half boiling point of water.

When your cassava stems are planted in October to early November with about 2-3 adequate rainfalls; a quick establishment of stems( above ground leaves and below ground roots ) are achieved.

With about 2-3 weeks of established stems before December, the drought tolerance quality of stem is triggered to see them through before the next season.

Augustine, please farm cassava next season on a real plot not on Google plots.

Gracias!

It will go. I have been observing he dew. The morning dew will sustain the cassava so long as the stems are fresh and not dried ones..proceed

What induces "rooting in a cassava stem? What is the effect of your observed morning 'dew' on subsoil solution?

Do you know the consequences of your quack advisory on a failed 10,000 cassava plants/ha?

The whole of October and early November would have been perfect, but the slowpoke waited till December to ask; And off course you showed.

Have you heard of crop calendar?

Are you sure I said that? What really is love? This is a colonial concept which is fast erroding away. What brings and keeps 2 adults together till the end of time is capacity not love.
Capacity and responsibility in a disciplined culture/society; daaz all!
African societal values thrived on these.

Wow! So what is the workable marketing strategy? It appears to be important in the value chain?

jflower06:
There is no way 10 feeders will serve 100 birds. Unless you want serious competition which will lead to bullying.
If the marketing is not well planned, you may have to eat some by yourself because lots of people reared the birds they need on their own at their backyards

Foreign Affairs / Re: The Judge Asked The Killer Of Former Egyptian President Anwar Sadat - by drake2(m): 9:17am On Jul 01
Kei144:
The judge asked the killer of former Egyptian President Anwar Sadat - "Why did you kill President Sadat?"

The murderer replied- "Because he was secular."

The judge immediately asked the next question – "What does secular mean?"

The killer said, "I don't know."

The man who tried to stab the deceased Egyptian writer Naguib Mahfouz was asked by the judge: "Why did you stab Mr. Naguib?"

The terrorist replied, "Because he has written the anti-religious novel 'Children of Gebalawi'."

The judge showed interest: "Have you read the novel?"

The criminal replied- "No."

The judge asked the murderer of Egyptian writer Farag Fouda - "Why did you kill Farag Fouda?"

The murderer replied- "Because he had no faith."

The judge was curious to know, "How did you know that he had no integrity?"

The terrorist's reply was - "Everything becomes clear by reading his books."

The judge's curiosity increased further - "In which book of his did you find the proof of his dishonesty?"

The killer admitted, "I don't know the name of the book. I haven't read it all."

The judge was surprised: "Why didn't you read it?"

The murderer said, "I don't know how to read and write."

Hatred never spreads through knowledge. Hatred spreads through ignorance. This is how society pays the price of ignorance, the price of keeping people ignorant.

Make a collage, panoramic picture views of your farm. This irritating thing put up there is already indicative of an annoying scam.

What kind of cropping system is that? And you are broke when your fictitious crops are barely 1 week old?

In the absence of post planting maintenance, you are asking for money to feed yourself or your crops?

You definitely won't harvest nothing from this sham and you don't have capacity to pay back any loan.

What a dotard in deception!

I suspect strongly the 25yrs old wanted to deter the 12yrs old from what she caught her doing.
