This will be my last post on this topic. @Dru23 I am not surprised that you couldn’t believe the description of whom you have been chatting with. The bible says “a prophet has no honour in his own country”. You live in USA owning a Uber fleet and I live in Nigeria influencing governance in USA. Refer to attached front page of minutes of meeting we had in May 2019. I have blocked the names for privacy reasons. |

dru23: Dru 23 you have applauded me, so I decided to close the chapter with you but you have since re-ignited it. From my earlier post, you have noticed that I am not an ordinary person. You should have realised that you are talking to a subject matter expert. I sit on the technical committee of API where standards are being specified. I am the only African in that committee and we do have bi-annual conference in USA . Asking me to read review is like asking the maker to ask the created for advice. As I have said Yuko oil is well specified but I opt for Favoil because the producer is confident to display the manufacturing address and the country from which it is imported is known for quality. 1 Like |

deavicky: So its only a Marketer that can carry out research on a product? |
![]() |
deavicky: I wanted to buy Yuko before I finally bought Favoil. Though the description on Yuko meets the specification of the Oil I wanted to buy. I didn't buy it because the oil does not have address of where it was produced. It only have made in EU (where in EU?). EU is a big economy community. its just like saying a product is made in Ecowas. Upon further research, I discovered that the Yuko is a Ukaraine company. I have nothing against Ukraine, just that I expect the address of where it is made to be boldly written on it. It may be a very good oil though but I have not used it yet. If I get good recommendation for it, I will try it. |

Eaglesswings: You got it wrong bro. I have no business that you can spoil. How do you know this account is just registered. I am in Nigeria and talikng about a product I used. I found a suitable alternative to mobil 1 and decided to use. I like it and it works for me. What is bad in talking about a product I used. |
![]() |
dru23: I am glad you said I got a few things wrong; this implies that I got most things right. Going back to your question, you said Mobil 1 is not sold in Nigeria by Mobil. This is absolutely false. The official distributor of Mobil 1 in Nigeria is Mobil Nigeria (now owned by 11plc). Maybe you have been away from Nigeria for long and those giving information are telling you lies. All over Mobil petrol stations in Lagos, Mobil 1 is displayed on their racks. I have used another product (Favoil) and I am satisfied with it. I don’t need review to make my decision because I know what I am doing. |
![]() |
dru23: You are actually missing the point. I am not here canvassing for any product or to discredit any product. I do not work for Favoil and I am sure you are not an employee of Mobil 1. I wonder why you are so passionate about defending mobil 1. Mobil 1 is a quality oil, no doubt about that but there are other quality oil of same quality as mobil 1. I just want Nigerians to make informed decision that they do not have to be taken for granted just because they want to buy quality oil For your information, I have been using mobil 1 in the past but I stopped because I realise that they are taking us for a fool by selling it at very high price to Nigerians. They have taken Nigerians for a fool. Back in 2016/2017, mobil 1 sells for about #12,000. Beginning of 2018 when the dollar was exchanging at #500 to $1, they increased the price to about #17500. When the exchange rate dropped back to #360 to $1, they never reduced the price. This is where someone like you saw an opportunity to take advantage of the situation. You are neither a distributor nor staff of mobil 1. You asked your relatives abroad to buy the Mobil 1 because it is reasonably priced in USA and send to you so that you take advantage of the high price in Nigeria. There is nothing bad about what you are doing, you are taking advantage of an unfortunate situation to make money. What I want Nigerians to do is to protest against Mobil 1 and how to protest is not to buy Mobil 1 again until they bring their price to what is sold in USA. You might want to argue that the cost of importation and clearing in Nigeria is expensive. That is not the case because Walmart selling it at $28 is already making profit after paying VAT, Taxes, staff salary and overheads However people like you are selling it for #17500 So my message to Nigerians is simple, stop being fooled. Do not pay excessively for a premium quality oil. Try other products apart from Mobil 1. Some other products are of better quality than Mobil 1 2 Likes |

dru23: Honestly dru 23, I should have stopped responding to you if we were in a private conversation but because this is a public forum I will respond because the public deserves the truth. The bible says “My people perish because of lack of knowledge”. I will repeat again that you are only interested in selling and not providing a service. You import engine oil at $22 (#7960) from US and sell to Nigeria at #17,500. You are only interested in making profit and you don’t understand the product you are selling. I will advise that you do some research on the internet to understand the oil you are selling. Now going back to your question; you circled a part of mobil 1 data sheet and asked that does Favoil meets the following specification. ACEA -A1/B1, A5/B5 API - SN, SM, SL, SJ ACEA means (Association des Constructeurs Europeens d'Automobiles) represents the interests of European vehicle manufacturers. But remember at the beginning of the discussion you said and European oil cannot be used for American spec car and now you are referring to European spec. For you information Favoil meets C3 specification which is superior to A1/B1, A5/B5. Please note that Mobil 1 also have C3 specification which is more expensive that A1/B1, A5/B5 but you traders tend to import the cheap ones as long as it is mobil 1. API – SN, SM, SL,SJ. The highest API specification for petrol engines is SN, (SM, SL, SJ are older versions). A new specification SP is due for release in May 2020 by API. You might wonder where I got all these information from; it is because I do a lot of research to understand what I buy. Favoil has both SN/CF (latest dual certification for petrol and diesel engines). 6 Likes |

dru23: You are only selling a product and you don't understand the technicality. I expect you to learn from those who know better than you rather than you defending the indefensible because you want to make money. May I ask you what is mobil1 TBN. Mobil 1 data sheet does not specifiy TBN. Follow this link to understand what TBN is? Mobil 1 data heet does not have TBN. https://www.amsoil.com/newsstand/articles/what-is-total-base-number/ Also mobil 1 has much sulphur ashes (0.8%) than Favoil (0.6%). I will repeat again, I am not here to sell a product neither am I here to spoil your business. If you want to defend or sell a product, I will advise that you prove your knowledge and rightly divide the word of truth Tim 2:15 2 Likes |

dru23: Please note that I am not in this forum to discredit any engine oil or promote any other brand of engine oil. If you refer to my earlier post, I only asked for advise. Upon using the product, I was satisfied and decided to upload my experience. Below is data sheet for both oils and I expect experts to analyse both data sheets and compare |

dru23: I went on google to search for Favoil and it came up with their company website. I sent and email to them to request their data sheet. I do not think it will be appropriate for me to send the data sheet to you or share it in this post as I am not their sales representative. I will advise that you send an email to them on sales@dasilad.com to request for their data sheet. Their website is www.dasilad.com If you give me your email address, I can send mobil 1 data sheet for you to compare. |

dru23: Please note that I am not disputing the quality of the oil you sell. I am just saying that I used a oil which stands shoulder to shoulder with the likes of mobil 1 and castrol. Mobil 1 and castrol are good oil but they are extremely overpriced in Nigeria. Mobil 1 sells for $22 dollars in walmart USA which is approximately #7920 but it is sold in Nigeria for #17500 in Nigeria. Mobil 1 has taken Nigerians for granted (our mumu don do). As far as I am concerned, I have switched from mobil 1 and I know use Favoil which is moderatley priced and of very good quality perhaps better than mobil 1. I have been to their website and downloaded their data sheet 2 Likes |

Joehigashi: I bought it from a trader in First gate Agidingbi Ogba Lagos, he convinced me to buy the product and I have never regretted it. So many traders are selling the product there. I also asked the trader where can I buy it from if I am not in that area. He asked me to contact this number 090 787 75903 |

dru23: You are right, I drive an American car but I do not look out for the country where engine oil is made. I look out for the specification. I look out for the API rating (American Petroleum Institute). In this case, this oil has API rating of SN/CF. We are talking about engine oil that is used to lubricate engines not the country where cars are made. Cars are assembled all over the world and they use same components. Engines are rated on their combustion fuel and brake horse power. The engine of 1.6 litre petrol honda car assembled in Europe is same as 1.6 litre engine honda assembled in USA or Japan. Mobil 1 is made by US company and the Castrol you are selling is made by a BP (British Petroleum) a British company. All engine oils have dual certifcation, Mobil 1 and Castrol engine oils are labelled with American and European certification. If you look at the labels, you will see that they have API SN which is American and A3/B4 which is european. So irrespective of where an oil is produced, what is important is the specifcation. Its just like saying that you can only fill your car which is imported from America with petrol that is refined in US. Ireespective of where engine oil or petrol is made, the most important thing is that it conforms to the relevant standard. As far as I am concerned, I rate this oil extremely high and I will continue to use iy 1 Like |

dspecial001: I have used the oil and it is very good. I bought it for N9800. Honestly I do not see any difference between it and mobil 1. Mobil 1 and castrol are just selling names. |

dru23: I bought th oil for 9.8k and it works very well for me. Better than perofrmance of mobil 1 or Castrol |

Good day everyone, Has anyone heard about an engine oil called Favoil fully synthetic engine oil. The oil was recommended to me and I was told that it was imported from UK. Though the oil is reasonably priced, cheaper than mobil 1 or castrol. I am just being careful not to use the wrong oil and at the same time I think the mobil 1 and castrol are very expensive. Someone please help |
