Gboyega Aribisogan, the Minority leader of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, has accused the State Governor, Ayodele Fayose of plotting to kill him. Addressing a press conference in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, on Tuesday, Aribisogan, who was suspended for 180 days claimed that Fayose was plotting to kill him in order to deny his constituency’s permanent representation at the State House of Assembly. He claimed that the governor had drafted one Tajudeen Olagunju also known as Alhaji to the Assembly Complex to attack him if he shows up. Aribisogan alleged that part of Fayose’s plot to assassinate him was the setting up of a committee headed by Hon. Dele Fajemilehin representing Gbonyin local government, which was to lure him to the Governor’s office under the pretense of inviting me to a committee meeting, in order for Olagunju to attack him and escape to the Governor’s residence in Magodo GRA, Lagos.” According to Aribisogan, “I welcome you all to this briefing. Let me use this opportunity to thank you for your immeasurable support for our great party, the All Progressive Party (APC). I also thank you for standing by us always. “I also want to personally thank you for your support for me since the beginning of my ordeals in the hands of Governor Fayose and the leadership of Ekiti State House of Assembly. “You will recall that I have been having a running battle with the leadership of Ekiti State House of Assembly since October 7, 2016 over the illegal 180 sitting days suspension handed down on me and Ikole constituency 1. “You are also aware of my official resumption on June 8, 2017 after nine months of denying my constituency the needed representation in Assembly. “You will also recall that I said the House leadership led by Rt Hon. Kola Oluwawole had continued to violate the Standing order of the House which says no member of the House can be suspended beyond 14 legislative days. “Gentlemen of the press, you are aware of my defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on account of the division and fictionalisation of the PDP to the All Progressive Congress on June 27,2017. “Since I left the PDP, Governor Ayo Fayose in connivance with Rt Hon, Kola Oluwawole have been plotting to kill me and deny my constituency permanently from being represented in state Assembly. “As I address you, the Governor has drafted his killer squad led by one Tajudeen Olagunju a.k.a Alhaji to the Assembly Complex. These hoodlums with guns and dangerous weapons, have been detailed by the governor and Pastor Oluwawole to attack me and my constituents anytime we move near the Assembly complex. “Part of the plot of the governor to silence me was the setting up of a Committee headed by Hon Dele Fajemilehin representing Gbonyin local government to lure me to the Governor’s office under the pretence of inviting me to a committee meeting, so that Tajudeen Olagunju can easily attack me and escape to Governor’s residence in Magodo GRA, Lagos. “When they discovered that the plot had leaked, the Speaker quickly dissolved the Committee and planned to set up another one that will be used to carry out the dastardly act.” However, Governor Fayose’s spokesperson, Lere Olayinka has dismissed the allegation. Olayinka maintained that Aribisogan is not the Minority Leader of the State House of Assembly. “To start with, Aribisogan is not the Minority Leader of the Ekiti State House of Assembly; also the state government will not descend so low to responding to a man like Aribisogan,” he said. https://polinomynews./2017/07/13/fayose-wants-to-finish-me-ekiti-lawmaker-alleges/ |

On Wednesday, Mr. Femi Adesina, the special adviser on media and publicity to the president announced that the Federal Government has released the sum of N1.6billion as intervention funds for 16 states ravaged by flood. The states include Akwaibom, Kebbi, Enugu, Abia, Oyo, Plateau, Edo, Bayelsa, Kwara among others. The money is expected to be taken from the ecological funds and released directly to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) immediately. The development is coming days after states across the country witnessed massive flooding as a result of a downpour that went on for days. The flood led to loss of several lives and property in states such as Niger and Lagos. Osinbajo on Monday, visited the site of the collapsed Mokwa-Jebba Bridge in Niger State for an on-the-spot assessment, after which he stated that the government had commenced work to make the roads passable again in about two weeks time. https://polinomynews./2017/07/12/fg-releases-n1-6bn-intervention-fund-for-states-ravaged-by-flood/ |

Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, today, swore in the newly elected senator representing Osun West Senatorial District, Ademola Adeleke, to replace the late Isiaka Adeleke, who died on April 23. With Adeleke sworn in, he has now increased the number of People’s Democratic Party, PDP, caucus in the Upper House to 42. The oath of office was administered on him by the Clerk of the Senate, Mr Nelson Ayewoh, during plenary. Currently, there are 108 senators in the Senate, instead of 109 with All Progressives Congress, APC, having 65 members. There is one vacant seat, following the nullification of the election of Senator Uche Ekwunife, formerly representing Anambra Central on the platform of PDP. Ademola is a younger brother to the late Isiaka. Meanwhile, all members of the PDP Senate caucus jubilated openly at the Senate chamber immediately Adeleke was sworn in, especially as he moved to join them on the minority seats. While congratulating the lawmaker, Deputy Minority Leader, Emmanuel Bwacha, said: “I want to tell Nigerians that God loves them. The giant is awake. The development is an indication that Nigeria is going to move forward. I congratulate you. There is no winner, no vanquished.” https://polinomynews./2017/07/12/adeleke-sworn-in-gets-applause-from-pdp-senators-increase-pdp-senate-caucus-to-42/ |

The management of the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation, OSBC, have suspended two of its workers, Kunle Makanjuola and Gbadebo Adepoju, for calling the state governor, Rauf Aregbesola, names on a Whatsapp group. Both men belong to a group on Instant Messaging app, Whatsapp, called You and I that was created by one of their colleagues, Sola Ajala. Gbadebo Adepoju who is a Deputy Director at the Marketing Department in the corporation left a comment in the group saying “Drama in Osun as State Government under the leadership of Rauf Aregbesola begins the payment of June salary at exactly 1:00am of Osun West Senatorial Bye-election day. Local and state civil servants from Osun West senatorial district, please don’t be deceived by the alert. The alert is your entitlements not a gift. You worked for it, even though you deserved more. Don’t because you get your half salary unexpected behind usual schedule and give your vote to APC. They are full of deceit. Vote for liberation, Vote Ademola Adeleke, Vote for PDP. A vote for Ademola Adeleke is a vote for the beginning of liberation of our dear state from boundage of half salary”. Kunle Makanjuola responded: ‘Oloriburuku governor, oloriburuku’ After his comment, Kunle was called out by some of his colleagues. Realizing he had made a huge mistake, he reportedly removed himself from the group and destroyed his sim card. He claimed he was never in the group. However, his comments were munched and sent to the management by his other colleagues. Both men were on Monday summarily suspended indefinitely. Another worker in the broadcasting station, Folakemi Alonge who made an uncomplimentary statement in the group was only issued a query. |

The power sector is said to have recorded a loss of about N1.43 billion to constraints associated with grid and gas in one day (June 17, 2017), according to statistics released by the Presidential Advisory Power Team (PAPT) overseen by the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo. Credible sources reports that the constraints involved 1,724 mega watts (MW) for gas while line constraints involved a total of 1,252.1MW of which, 1,078.5MW had high frequency constraints. The implications included shortage of electricity supplies to end users, frustration of businesses and decline of revenue generation to the sector. The average power sent out was 2,786MWh/hour (down by 687/h) against 3,474MWh/hour sent out on June 16, 2017. Also, the peak was 3,948 MW noticeably lower than 3,960MW generated on June 16, and this was due to the loss of Distribution Companies (DisCOs) feeders arising from heavy rainfall leading to frequency management reduction in generation output across the grid. Devaluation! Devaluation!! Devaluation!!! How did it all start? The price of crude oil fell in the international market and Nigeria being an economy that relies solely on crude oil as its major source of revenue has to bear the brunt of the decrease in the price of its black gold by witnessing a sharp decline in its revenue. The excess crude account was as its all time low due to mismanagement by the fiscal authorities, they were not prudent in times of surplus & we needed money to run the economy and also we needed our external reserve to service our currency so as to boost its value. The problem however started when there was no reserve to service our currency in the foreign exchange market, this will lead to d depreciation of the Naira(#) against the Dollar($) since the price of naira is being determined by the forces of the market, naira started depreciating at a galloping rate, imports rising, cost of production rising, our country in soup, where do we run to for help ?. This was where the monetary authorities stepped in through the meeting held by the monetary policy committee of the CBN, the price of naira was determined exogenously by the monetary authorities. It was pegged at $1 to N165..... Oooh lala, there is hope at last, the price has been determined outside of the market, what a relief. To ensure smooth running of the financial system, the rate of interest was also fixed at 13%. Everything looked bright again, there is hope. But alas, this was not to continue for long since the market forces is stronger than any monetary authorities, the fiscal unit started drawing down on our reserves, We had to pay for it by an increasing level of depreciation....... For the first time, naira rose to an all time highest rate of $1 to N194!!!!! ......... Trouble booting............ The fiscal authorities had to rise to the occassion, and this is where the real problem began. How? Why? Austerity measures was introduced by the fiscal authorities so as to save the economy from falling like a sack of garri. Taxes was increased on luxurious goods and services consumed by the rich, this however will not affect them since they are the ones that still influences the policy makers. Just like the case of the person playing the piper also dictating the tune, so that one no concern us. How does this affect the common man like you and me?. Do we all know that according to the 2015 budget, Value Added Tax has been increased to 5%?. Someone will murmur wetin be my own. Yes, wetin be your own, but you have to bear it in mind that VAT is an indirect tax that you and I pay, I mean everyone irrespective of age, creed or tribal affiliation. And we pay VAT by dinning with the dreaded monster called inflation. Oooooooooh, i hear you say how?, VAT denotes an increase in the producers cost of production, and we all know who bears the final brunt of this, Of course it is you the consumer. You buy a lot of things everyday, so, you can't escape it. This is where we will all begin to suffer the negative effects of fall in price of crude oil. 2 Likes 1 Share |

All of us have things that we fear to a certain extent , whether it is spider or high places but in the end of the day we know how to manage these fears and don’t let them be a source of a social embracement in our lives , However some people are not fortunate to suffer from some types of impractical phobias that cause their daily lives to be on hold , it can be irritating if you are suffering phobia of something you have to deal with everyday , or something that is not commonly feared by normal people which might cause some sort of embracement in your life and stand in the way of your socializing , discover the Ten Most Impractical Phobias In The World below . 10- Arachibutyrophobia Arachibutyrophobia is a fear of peanut butter and when we speak about Arachibutyrophobic people we are not including those who are allergic to peanuts , literally some people are afraid of the sticky texture of the peanut butter to stick in the roofs of their mouths and cause chocking , the sufferers are able to consume peanut butter in small amounts . 9- Bibliophobia . Bibliophobia is the fear of books , many of us still have the old fashioned books that we had years ago and we are cherishing them as they present some type of a comfort for us , but for those who suffer from this phobia even a small idea of reading a book will cause them to have a panic attack , the symptoms start with heavy breathing and sweating . 8- Carnophobia . Carnophobia is fear of meat , and when we mention Carnophibic we don’t mean the regular vegetarian people that avoid meats due to a health of ethical reasons but we actually are speaking about people that will freak out and panic when they see a piece of pork , veal or chicken , the symptoms start with dry mouth and throat developing to heavily sweating and then panic attack . 7- Phobophobia . Phobophobia is just fear of having a phobia , so imagine that just wondering whether you are having some sort of phobia or not can develop to become a phobia in itself and cause despair and irritations . 6- Nomophobia . Nomophobia is a fear of having no access to a mobile phone which present in our present world in big numbers , just the idea of losing connection with friends , family or the internet world can cause people to freak out . 5- Spectrophobia . Spectrophobia is fear of mirrors , the sufferers are not able to look at their reflections in mirrors or glass at all as they think that whatever is going to be reflected in the mirror is an evil soul that is chasing them . 4- Heliophobia . Heliophobia is fear of the sun light , specialists assume that Heliophobia is actually caused by an inner sensitivity of light and mainly people that are sensitive to light are the ones that suffer from this type of phobia the most . 3- Interphobia . New Year resolutions are taken seriously by some, ridiculed by others and mostly unattainable by many. Whether you wish to lose weight, quit smoking, start exercising or adopt any other step towards your health, you must set accomplishable goals. Health must be on top of the New Year’s resolutions list, if we want to live to see other years comfortably and happily. Hence, have a look at the following executable steps that you can take to really become healthier in 2015 and not just wish you had behaved differently. 10. Surround Yourself with Good Company . Birds of a feather flock together. If you want to change your “feathers” then choose the friends who encourage you to do so. Stay away from heavy smokers, alcoholics or friends who love to eat junk food at least until you get rid of these habits. Instead, surround yourself with those who appreciate the changes you want to make and provide good influence. 9. Learn from Success Stories . Setting unrealistic goals is usually caused by doing a plan by oneself without benefiting from the experience of others. By reading about success stories of someone who quit a bad habit or accomplished a great goal, you can set a clearer plan. 8. Eliminate Triggers of Bad Habits . If you have unhealthy snacks lying all over the house, then you are only inviting yourself to eat them. Replace them with fruits, vegetables and green tea. A bad habit is usually triggered by boredom, so make yourself busy by getting involved in a simple activity like reading. 7. Have Patience . Nothing worth having comes easy. Good results come with time and excellent results come with a lot of hard work. Remember to start with your getting healthy plan as soon as possible because the older you become, the slower you will get results. 6. Don’t Starve Yourself . Binge eating is mostly a result of an attempt to go through a period of time with eating nothing. A healthier approach towards diet would include taking a little snack between meals to stay full. However, remember to keep that snack a healthy one like a cup of yogurt or some unsalted nuts. 5. Use Every Chance to Move . Imagine the amount of gadgets that will show up in 2015 to make our lives “easier”. Make relying on technology a chance to move. For instance, keep the cell phone charger away from the place you sit so you have to walk a distance to it. Change the TV channels without a remote control. Make jogging a part of your family outing. 4. Little Things Matter . Remember to keep yourself hydrated because the moment you feel thirsty means that there is something wrong. Drinking enough water keeps you full, detoxifies your body and provides you with radiant skin. Moreover, try your best to sleep no less than 7 hours in order to face the hardships of life fully recharged. 3. Find Someone to Join You to Your Goal . Having someone wanting to reach the same goal has lots of benefits. First of all, you will hold each other accountable for every step on the way. Secondly, you will be able to celebrate your accomplishments together. Your good habit mate can be a family member, a friend or even someone from a support group as long as he/she is determined. 2. Don’t Send Yourself on a Guilt Trip . Occasions like a best friend birthday or a family gathering at a holiday may cause you to overeat or drink too much. If that happens, leave what happened and move on your plan without being too hard on yourself. Slipping on occasion is not the end of the world. 1. You Made Here, You Need to Cheer . Appreciate every little step you take on the journey to a better you. Just reading this article means that you are considering the matter. Take a look at everyday achievements no matter how little they are, and celebrate them. Source: inminutes.com/10-executable-steps-for-healthier-2015/ |

Many people participate in some behaviors that may affect their sleep. All those thoughts aren’t entirely true. You have to follow the latest research and examine sleeping habits more closely for yourself. Read on to clear all your misconceptions about sleep. 7. Books, Television and Laptop are Good Tools to Sleep Many people believe that they can’t sleep without TV and they consider it a good way to sleep. They think that they are sleeping during a TV show, but unfortunately they stay awake all the night. Try to turn off the TV during the sleep of your partner who believes in this fallacy. As soon as you turn it off TV he or she wakes up and screams at you. The sound and light of the TV prevent sleep. Reading in bed is also wrong because you will need light which prevents your sleep. Experts recommend us to go to bed when we want sleep only and do the other things outside the bedroom. 6. Moving to Your Side Stops Snoring A long time ago our grandparents believed that rolling over stops snoring. At present time many people take this misconception from their parents and grandparents. They still do it without doing research about the factual reasons. If you read or listened to experts you will know the truth. Truth says there are several reasons that cause snoring as interrupting the airflow in the nose, narrow nasal broken up passages, alcohol and allergies. 5. Believing in Counting Sheep If you suffer from insomnia or worry, and are awake all night, don’t believe who tells you to count up to a hundred sheep. According to an Oxford University study of insomniacs, counting sheep doesn’t make you sleep, but it delays it and makes you more stressed. Try another way as imagining a relaxing view. It is the fastest way to sleep. Some people tried this way and fall asleep in a few minutes. 4. You Can Complete Your Lost Sleep Hours on the Weekend Most people exhaust themselves in work and sleep a few hours. They believe that they can make up the lost sleep time on the weekend. Experts made researches on a few individuals. They made them sleep a few hours within the weekdays, then they slept more hours on the weekend. They found that they became relaxed and their tiredness reduced, but it’s not according to the recovery sleep. Other researchers found that scarcity of sleep causes heart disease, overweight and other diseases. It also stresses you out. 3. Insomnia Is Usually Caused by Stress Stress is surely a reason for lack of sleep. Yet, it isn’t the only cause for insomnia. Alternative reasons include physical pain, sleep apnea, psychological strain and many others. Insomnia is quite a familiar case that needs to be treated if it lasts longer than three weeks either by medicine, cognitive relaxation techniques or by treating any underlying illnesses. 2. Sleep Apnea is Seen Only with Old Aged and Overweight Individuals A lot of us assume that constructive sleep apnea affects only the obese and older people. Although these are in fact considered risk factors, perfectly fit youngsters might suffer from sleep apnea as well. A person may possibly have OSA without even knowing it, it is required to check with your doctor even if you haven’t suspected the occurrence of the condition. 1. Older People Require Less Sleep The assumption that old people need less sleep is a widespread misplaced thought. Because old people seem to spend less hours sleeping, people think that’s what they require. However, disorders such as hypertension, diabetes, atherosclerosis, and Alzheimer’s might be the cause of sleep deprivation in older people. Owning your own fashion business can get pretty chaotic. In the wake of all the chaos, your financial goals can get lost. That’s why at the start of this New Year, it is imperative that you set financial goals for yourself to not only improve but push your brand to new lengths. We are going to talk about simple actions that can help improve your brand’s financial health for the rest of the year. 1. Set Up Specific Financial Goals You want to write and plan out specific financial goals for your business. Do you want your revenue to reach $20,000 by August? Do you want enough to buy a studio? Don’t be afraid to make BIG goals but remember to always map out gradual steps of how you are going to achieve them. Whatever your financial visions are…write it out, map it out, and try as hard as you can to stick to your plan. Create a Spending Plan and Track It Many people are spending more than they earn. When you own your own business and are not receiving additional financing, this can get quite difficult. It is important to create a spending plan so you can view and decide how you are spending your income. It is astonishing how much you will realize when you map out every dollar you spend and where; it can clarify where you can cut spending. The key here is staying on track of it. Don’t do it one month then skip the next three, the more you are looking at your finances, the better you will handle your cash. 2. Carefully Allocate Any Additional Income The holiday season may be an exceptionally prosperous one for you this year. Whatever it is, if you find yourself with additional business income, don’t go and spend it all in one place. Try to put some aside to save, some to put into your business, and some to buy yourself a nice little gift (shoes always seem to do the trick, for me). This will rid you of any guilt that you may feel you’ve overspent and it will also be helping your business’ financial health. 3. Improve Your Credit If your credit is suffering, it’s time to find new ways to get your score back up. If you ever decide to look for additional financing for your brand, this will be crucial. Not to mention even when you want to apply for a personal credit card, this will also be crucial. Make sure you’re paying your bills on time and not overcharging more than you can chew. 4. Make It a Priority to Pay Off Debt Nothing hurts more than feeling like you’re swimming in debt. To avoid that, make sure your spending plan incorporates allocation to debt repayments. The steadier and sooner you pay off the debt, the quicker you will have more free income to start new projects. It also improves your credit history. Keeping in mind big goals, such a brick-and-mortar store, studio, or overseas sourcing trip will push you to stay on track. 5. Save, Save, Save We can never ever stress this enough and it’s pretty much self-explanatory. Calculate an amount that you want to save per week or per month and make sure you always put that amount away before you do anything else with your income. When the numbers start growing, you’ll be happy you did. 6. It’s Okay to Say No Weekend parties? Expensive group dinners? It’s okay to tell your friends no, that you can’t go. It’s safe to say, going out can rack up some high bills that—if you want to invest in your business – aren’t too helpful. Even if you try to convince yourself that you will go out and not spend that much money, unless you have superperson will power, you will most likely throw more cash than you expected. Don’t feel bad about saying NO, your friends will understand and in the long run, it will help your business grow. 7. Give Back in a Non-Financial Way You may feel because your finances are bootstrapped you can’t give back to the community—false. There are many non-financial ways to give back. Volunteering, donating clothes or toys to a shelter, mentoring a child in need are just some of the ways you can give and not worry about the money you’re spending. 8. Treat Youself Well Rewarding yourself with something makes all the hard work seem worth it. It doesn’t have to be a large financially-straining reward. It can be as simple as a short meal with friends where you order snacks and soft-drinks. Pick something you really love and treat yourself |
