Nairaland / General / Man, 87, Has Married 107 Women by dyvinson7: 12:03pm On May 15, 2011 |
Man, 87, has married 107 women A NIGERIAN man, now 87 years old, has finally called it a day after marrying 107 women and fathering 185 children, according to news reports. The man, Bello Maasaba, presently lives with 86 of his wives and the youngest of his 185 children was born just a month ago. The youngest of his wives is just 19. A report in the Los Angeles Times says the man is currently living with only 86 of his wives after he divorced 12 of the women and buried nine others. Bello has created a massive extended family for himself. Currently he has a total of 5,000 members in his extended family including nephews, in-laws, nieces, cousins and others. He was thrown to jail about three years ago in September 2008 when the Nigerian authorities became aware of the number of women he'd married. He was released after his wives said they had married him willingly. Bello lives in an 89-bedroom house with his family. Of his 185 children, only 133 are living. -- THE STAR/ANN http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/World/Story/STIStory_668928.html |

orbaxy: @ orbaxy, I don't know where you come from, "I will take that back. I know your name is something BASSEY and you live somewhere in Dubai" but you have not shown to be part of the educated Nigerians that i am use to. Nigerians come with facts with several research to prove a point and not only that, they do it with diplomacy. You have shown high level of incompetency to be offer admission in any foreign universities, except Dubai if they do not do proper screening. ( who knows what you are doing there? This is not Ekaitae, Abassinbom or Indianpon) Its simple research that take less time and if you can not do it, don't call names, just leave and be quiet. You have failed not only yourself in understanding how to ask and investigate things that you do not understand, but others who might have build trust in you. People like you make other Nigerians abroad to shelve their hands against their fellow Nigerians. Click on this link http://alis.alberta.ca/ps/ep/aas/post-secondary.html and go to the 4th University to the last, you will see The Kings University College: http://alis.alberta.ca/ps/ep/aas/post-secondary.html 1. The first question i think you should have asked is, who is this guy? 2. what is he up to? 3. why would he want to lie or defraud people here 4. was he trying to ask for money for unrealistic services? 5. has anybody fall victim or has anybody gotten admissions through what you think is a made up story? With a critical thinking, you would have avail yourself this embarrassment you caused yourself. I know you must have gone to several forum to destabilize and cause confusion without proper investigation. Please young man, you have long way to go. If luck shine your way and you travel out of Dubai to western world for any reason, do not do what you just did, because it might cause you more than you bargain for. Here people follow the law and are guided and not just say things they are not sure of. The same Government of Alberta that you went to and you could not find The Kings University College is where i find this information to help you educate yourself. Click on the information below to find out, http://alis.alberta.ca/ps/ep/aas/post-secondary.html http://www.kingsu.ca/about-us/history.html http://www.aucc.ca/can_uni/our_universities/index_e.html#Alberta (click on Alberta if you can find it on the Canada map) http://u101.com/colleges/Alberta/ http://education.alberta.ca/teachers/fnmi/links/postsecondary.aspx Please watch out for Orbaxy anytime you see him on forum, people like this chase good luck from you, They will confuse you when they can not make it themselves so that they can have company of failures with them

orbaxy: @ orbaxy First of all, I want to personally thank you for taking time to do research on King's University College. It shows that you are interested in finding out the truth. However, i am so very much disappointed and so much disdain with your level of complacent displayed on this forum. I would not have reply to you, but i think its better to show you the high level of ignorance you have displayed here today. Listen to your statement (so far, they confirmed that there is no such institution as King's university in alberta. you can check for yourselves. They have the list of all universities in alberta in their website.) They confirmed which means third party and you have not confirmed what they say. (Don't let rumor kill you)So how could you want people to confirm your lie? when you said they should check, where are they going to check from, if you that say something is a fraud can not prove it? Click on: http://alis.alberta.ca/ps/ep/aas/post-secondary.html (List of Universities in Alberta on the Government of Alberta website) Anyways, i can help you. Click on the following link associated to the Government of Alberta that you sent, www.education.alberta.ca/using/contact.aspx Call or send email to any of the offices and check the authenticity of The Kings University College, so that you can say i know and not they confirmed. One thing i will like to remind you is that your intellect is an insult on the number of Nigeria Students who gain admissions to Kings University Yearly. You have not only embarrassed yourself, but shown to the entire audience of this forum that you can not succeed where others succeed. First you displayed a website www.education.alberta.ca/ that does not show anything about Universities in Alberta. Its is the government of Alberta department of Education website that has nothing to do to buttress your case. Also you went to another website without reading through and check the content to establish false claim. Please visit the following website and see where King University College is displayed as the 8th institution participating in the ApplyAberta. The website also gives conditional statement(If the institution you wish to attend has not started using ApplyAlberta, you should apply directly to that institution.) Please don't confuse others with your confusion and next time you should at least show some level of respect by asking question, even if you think there is a fraud and don't display your level of immaturity in public like this. Please visit the same website picture that you sent and click on Participating Institution and go to the https://www.applyalberta.ca/pub/participants.asp What does this Participating Institutions The list below indicates which institutions are using ApplyAlberta. Follow the links to each institution, the programs of study offered, and application information such as admission requirements and deadlines. mr swagger: @ mr swagger, It is paid online into Kings University account after filling your application. Its the same way like other Universities, but you have to have means to pay online. Visit your banks to make inquiry on how to get Master Card or contact the agent to help you pay for it. |
Education / Re: Admissions At King's University Edmonton Canada by dyvinson7: 12:42pm On May 04, 2011 |
mr swagger: @ mr swagger, No you have to pay for the application fee of $140 immediately after filling the application on line at www.kingsu.ca/appy The deadline has been extended, but your deadline is not from the school. Your deadline has to do with the Canadian Embassy. You can still apply now and get your admission letter before the end of this month. Then you can go apply for your visa. There are two options, you can pay yourself with your master card from any of the Nigeria Banks or you can go to another Kings University Agent to pay him and he will help you to pay after you have paid the equivalent in Naira. |

roselex: @ roselex, I don't know of any certificate course that you will be able to convince the Canadian Embassy with for a Visa. However, if your friend has undergraduate degree, he can apply for another degree program in his current area of study and he could finish within six months or a year, if he send his Undergraduate degree. You can look at Kings, it has educational degree that has short duration. Your friend can check the following links for pre-professional degree or After Degree http://www.kingsu.ca/academic-programs/pre-professional/index.html http://www.kingsu.ca/academic-programs/majors/education.html |

roselex: @ roselex Yes you can get work with those technical certificates, as a matter of fact those certifications can land you a job that can file for your permanent residence(no guaranty). However, you can not work off campus until you have been enrolled for two academic semesters or 6 months academic semester, whichever comes first before you can get off campus job. Also, you could only work 20 hrs a week until you finish all you course work. Yet you can still negotiate with king's by agreeing to payment plan that allow you pay limited amount each month until you graduate. |

However, i will advice you to be at least get prepare for your first semester tuition fee, accommodation and feeding, because this will allow you to meet your academic obligations. http://www.kingsu.ca/future-students/money-matters/employment.html NOTE: The deadline to apply for campus employment is May 31 of each year. |

Yemming: @ Yemming, Yes i am in Edmonton Canada. It will be nice if you get everything processed as soon as possible. |
Education / Re: Admissions At King's University Edmonton Canada by dyvinson7: 8:46pm On Apr 23, 2011 |
Yemming: @Yemming, The minimum depends on how much you pay for tuition deposit. It is advice-able you pay more so the embassy can see that you are serious and can afford your tuition. However, if you are paying the minimum of $1850, i will advice you have equivalent of about $10,000 in your account and get a letter from a sponsor (your parents) with an affidavit stating that they will be funding your education when you move. Even if you have less than $10,000 in your account, you should get the affidavit and possibly your sponsor bank statement. All you need to do is to establish the fact that you will be able to pay for your tuition at least for a year. I do not think you will have that much problem, because in recent admission from students from Denmark, U.K, Finland and Norway the process was very simple. All they did was to get a leter of good standing from their school and they took their transcripts with them to the Embassy with their bank statements and they were granted. Remember you have to show that you are legal in Cyprus meaning your passport should have expired or un-expired visa that shows that you are admitted to Cyprus legally. |
Education / Re: Admissions At King's University Edmonton Canada by dyvinson7: 8:33pm On Apr 23, 2011 |
Yemming: That is fine, as long as your OND has the list of the courses you took in UNILAG and the grade on it. Yes you can pay with a prepaid card if the prepaid card has VISA or MASTER CARD logo on it. If not you will have to get International Money Order from Western Union or Money Gram and send it to the school. Make sure you have it in U.S dollars or Canadian Dollars and don't forget to sign it and have the customer copy with the number with you before mailing it. Also make sure you send it with a register mail to help you monitor the movement of the mail and inform the school about it before its arrives so they can be looking out for it. Another thing is that, if you are using prepaid gift card, does it have limit? Because some prepaid credit card can have as high as $200, but if issue by your bank and connected to your bank account, you could have higher limit of up to $10,000 or more |
Education / Re: Admissions At King's University Edmonton Canada by dyvinson7: 2:37pm On Apr 23, 2011 |
Yemming: Yemming, Good, send the result to admissions@kingsu.ca. Remember, if someone can help you get photocopy of the UNILAG OND result scanned and send to Kings's University while they are processing the original that will accelerate the admission decision. Yes Kings's University has refund policy. Once you are granted admissions, you will then pay the Tuition Deposit of $1850. if by any reason you decided not to come to Kings again, $1500 will be refunded. However, if you are denied visa, you can still reapply again for your visa and you will still have your $1850. The only time Kings University will hold $350 out of your money is when you say, you are not coming to the school again. The reason for this is that some students get to Canada and never report to the school, but want all their money back. To compensate for their administrative expenses, the $350 will not be refunded. However, base on past experience and trend, i am very sure that you will not be denied a visa, as long as you did not lie in your application, apply to come to Kings University a month to your class start date,(which you can still get a visa if you re-apply), commit crime outside Nigeria and they find out(that happens to every country anyways). Above all you can still get you visa if you reapply most of the time except for felony related crime if they find out or fake document, if they find out. Also, you have about 70%-80% chances that you may not be called for interview if you submit legitimate document and have everything filled correctly without a lie. However, try to have photocopy of your application for future purposes and should in case you are called for interview you will be able to remember what you fill in, if you are asked any question. |
Education / Re: Admissions At King's University Edmonton Canada by dyvinson7: 1:46pm On Apr 23, 2011 |
Yemming: Yemming, Depending on your OND and your current academic performance in Cyprus, you will be excepted from taking toefl. However, you will have to submit your transcripts from both the school you did your OND and Cyprus to be exempted. The sooner you get your transcript sent to admissions@kingsu.ca the quicker you get your admission processed and get your admission letter. Don't forget you will have to get scratch cards pins for your WAEC/NECO so that King's University can retrieve your result info from WAEC/NECO website. The good NEWS for you is that you might just have to graduate in one year because you have OND and currently studying in Cyprus, if you don't change your course program from the one you are currently doing. |
