Car Talk / Help: Sienna 2006 Engine Problem!! by Eben2: 12:16pm On Jun 04, 2016 |
I just bought a tokunbo Toyota Sienna 2006 from Coutonu. I went there picked the car myself. I even test-drove it myself and everything was alright. The agent that brought it from the point of sale said the car engine started making noise after the left the park. They had to push it across to Nigeria. These they didn't tell me until it got to Nigeria. I later took my mechanic there and he discovered that oil was not supplying into the engine making the crown shaft to go bad. I paid and all that needed to be changed was changed. I drove it home from the workshop with the AC on and before I got home the noise started again with oil indicator blinking. The mechanic took it back, work on it and told me to drive it for one week without putting on the AC. I have used it now for one week. I still hear faint noise but not as bad as before. I took it everyday sometimes at a speed of 120 without any issues. Today, I put on the AC and the noise began to come up again. What can I do? The car is very neat and cool but this is giving me headaches. |

Marriage can never stop a womanizer from sleeping around. I learnt that in a hard way. However, there is a sure way of overcoming this terrible vice. I overcame, you too can overcome. Please go through my own personal experience and how I got over sexual addictions: Please check this link: https://www.nairaland.com/1512964/Jesus-only-way-heaven-muslim/1#19559173 In the mean time, read this: IT IS A PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE! Like Adam and Eve, you have a choice: to choose Life and live or to choose sin and die. But if you would allow Jesus into your life today, He will destroy sin (and other works of the devil) from your life completely. He did it in my life and He can do it in yours. God is not interested in religion and I am not preaching to you religion but the power of God to make you His son, to make you live a holy life even in this evil and corrupt world. I was told this several times too but I really didn’t believe it or commit it to heart and so I continued to wallow in my sin until Jesus found me. Although I was born into an ifa (Yoruba indigenous oracle) family, I grew up to attend church occasionally but I never knew God. I grew into adulthood and my sinful life grew too. I grew to become a terrible fornicator – a sex addict (at this time I was a regular church attendee and sometimes participated in church activities but I did not know God), I was a terrible liar and a thief. I was working in HR department of a bank then and I would give job to people who didn’t have certificate in as much as they were able to pay. I aborted several pregnancies. Most times I was not happy with the life I was living but I could not help it. Even on Nairaland, I was a bad boy! If I give you the name I was using then, you will understand what I mean. Later, I felt the only solution to my sex problem (which seemed to be the most difficult of my lifestyle) was to get married. I did get married to my only sweetheart, the only woman I ever loved thinking I would not be able to cheat on her. Truly, I did stop for some months, but when I started again, it became worse than it used to be. It was like the demon in me when to look for seven (7) demons that were stronger and meaner than him and all of them made my heart the home. I could not live two days without sex! I had chains of girlfriends, even went to the extent of sleeping with my wife’s sister (not blood related) and had a relationship with my landlady’s daughter. Upon all these, I would still visit brothels for the prostitutes. My life was marred with dirtiness! My wife would cry her eyes out but it didn’t stop me. Then a day came, December 5th of a beautiful year. It was a Sunday. I with my family went to the church as usual. The Friday preceding this day, I met two girls and had appointment to see them in different hotels on that beautiful Sunday. So, I was praying silently that the preacher would be quick with his sermon so I could meet up with my appointments. Minutes into the message, I didn’t know how it happened, I saw myself in the state I really was: a sinner with a very heavy load of sin, needing a savior. I felt so heavy and fell on my knees with tears all over my face. I knelt and bent down in shame and asked the savior to help me. I confessed my sins as many as I could remember and asked for forgiveness. I wept with a heavy heart and suddenly, it was as if a load was lifted off my neck and felt so free and an overflow of an emotion I never felt before filled my soul – joy! I knelt down weeping but I stood up with smiles of joy. There and then, was the victory that Jesus alone gives handed over to me and I became free. I was given a direct access to God Himself and a fellowship I am not willing to trade for anything else! Right after, my life changed! Everybody around me noticed something different in me; my colleagues at work, my numerous girls, my family and most of all, my wife. She was born and bred a muslim but when she saw my changed lifestyle, she asked for how she could experience it too and the way was shown to her and she joyfully embraced it. My dear brothers and sisters, Christians in name and Muslims alike, if you have not experienced this, what are you waiting for? Religion? Don’t deceive yourself; allow God to set you free through the sacrifice of His only begotten Son! Do it and do it NOW! |

Religion / Re: Christians State Your Reason For Believing In GOD by Eben2: 6:39am On Jan 27, 2015 |
Hmmm... So many reasons: As a child my parents would always take me to church and I naturally believe what I was always told. As I grew into adulthood, I grew to believe the God of the Christians because I grew as one. But in all these, I never experienced Him. My believing in the God of Christians did not save me from my sins, sicknesses and pains, it only made me religious. Then, I really got to know Him and experience Him in the real sense of it that beautiful Sunday morning when His Word found His way into my hardened but lonely heart and there dealt with the power of sin, gave me His righteousness and made me His son. Now, I don't just believe, I trust in Him and I love Him with the whole of my heart - its a beautiful experience! Another reason is that He speaks to me. His voice is very audible to my heart so why won't I trust Him. He also hear me and respond to my discussion with Him. My flesh and the devil is another reason. They always tempt me to walk contrary to God. They bring distraction whenever I want to do anything that brings glory to God. It tells me God is real cos if He is not, why will my body always want to always prevent me from doing His will? I think these will do for now! 1 Like |

Righteousness will uplift this nation! |
Religion / Re: A Call For Righteousness In The Nation by Eben2: 9:40am On Dec 19, 2014 |
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBLITIES OF THE CHURCH AND ITS LEADERSHIP IN THE NATION BUILDING? Time and space will not permit me to list out the responsibilities of the church in our nation building. However, all of these responsibilities can be summed up in these words: “be the light of the nation”. Our Lord Jesus, the savior of the whole world says in Matthew 5:13 – 16 that we are the salt and light of the world. He said if the salt loses its flavour, it becomes good for nothing but to be cast out and be trodden under the foot of men. Little wonder why the MOGs are ridiculed everywhere. The church has lost its saltiness. We as Christians must make effort to affect the world around us. If we don’t we are of little or no value to God. If we are too much like the world, we are worthless. Christians should not blend with everyone else or join the multitude to do evil. Instead, we should affect others positively, just as seasoning brings out the best flavor in food. The Lord said, we as the light of the nation must shine before all men that they may see our good works and glorify our heavenly Father. This simply means that we should live our life for Christ. Like Christ, we are to live in such a way that no one will be able to point an accusing finger at us for any wrong doing. If we live for Christ, we glow like lights, showing others what Christ is like in power, righteousness, humility, peace, spirit, words and selflessness. The question then is: how can we be the light of the nation? First, we must learn to speak out against evil! We must never keep quiet when we are supposed to speak. The work of Martin Luther King Jr and Desmond Tutu come to mind. These were preachers who vehemently spoke out against evil and oppression in their land and the world cannot forget the great impart their words had and is still having in the history of the world. It is so amazing to see our preachers and MOGs in this country totally silent against evil. Could it be that they benefit from the corruption that is in the land in one way or the other? Are they scared of losing their vast wealth if they speak out against evil and bad leadership in the land? Are they afraid of teaching their congregation the truth about Christian living because it may reduce their financial harvest at church services? It is so disheartening to know that most churches have become wonder banks and avenues for money laundering. The poor and the less privileged are looked down on and rich and powerful are praised and respected not minding the source of their wealth. Truth and justice have been totally erased from the dictionary of many so-called MOGs. This ought not to be so, as Christians and preachers, we like our Lord, supposed to be stern against oppression, corruption and stealing in every sphere of life. We must desist from preaching sermons that will encourage stealing, covetousness, jealousy and corruption. Let us preach message that will make man to seek righteousness first, and trust God for daily provision - Matthew 6:33. Secondly, we must not go along with the crowd. The statement: “if you cannot beat them, you join them” must be totally erased from our vocabulary. Our light should show the world the evil in their ways rather than blending with the evil in the world. We must not join the world to give or receive bribe. We must not be seen walking in immorality or speaking abusive words. We must not be seen cutting corners or looking for quick way of making money but rather work hard, be creative and trust God for blessing and upliftment. If and when we become rich, we must not trust in uncertain riches but help the needy and relief the oppressed. We must not be known as drunkards and wife beater or husband abusers. Our life must be the change agent and not change with the world. Moreover, we must not deny the light. Most Christians turn to monsters when devil presents crooked opportunity for them to make money. They quickly deny the blood that save them. They jump at every opportunity to be violent or abusive. They cannot be cheated or insulted; they quickly let down their faith and show whosoever cares that they are not fools. They have forgotten the words of our Lord that whosoever cannot carry his OWN cross and follow Christ cannot be His disciple. They fall at little oppositions and challenges. This ought not to be so; we must hold on to our faith and never compromise our light. Also, Christians and its leadership must not allow sin to dim their light. We must know that though we are in the flesh, we must not walk according to the dictate of the flesh. Truly, the world is corrupt and a lot of devilish activities are in the air; these notwithstanding, Christians, must keep their garment pure and untainted by the corruption of the world. We must be watchful, prayerful and run from every appearance of evil. We must study the word of God and prayerfully obey its instructions. We must realize that God does not want us to indulge in sin or any unrighteous act and as such we must constantly guide our soul from the corruption of the world. We must also point the world to the Light. The whole world is in darkness and it is the duty of every Christian to point the only Light that can illuminate the world to it. We must realize that we are not the light but a reflection of the Light. Many pastors and MOGs have turn themselves to demi-gods requiring the worship of other men. They have forgotten the example of servant hood that Jesus laid for all who will serve Him. We must go back to preaching Christ and His redemptive work on the cross in order for this Light to illuminate the whole world. We must tell the world that in Jesus only is life and the life is the light of men. We must preach righteousness at every opportunity we have whether the people like it or not; we are not here to please man but God. The bible says He is the true Light that lights every man that comes into the world. We must tell the whole world that it is only through Christ that power to live a righteous life can be gotten. We must desist from preaching about the glory of this world and tell people about how they can be redeemed from the corruption of the world. We must remember the scripture that says: “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable” 1 Corinthians 15:19 Lastly, we can shine our lights by caring for the needs of others. We must learn from of Lord Jesus who “was going about doing good”. He was compassionate and always helped those in need. Christians are supposed to be caring and loving to everyone, both friends and foes, rich and poor. The whole scriptures, old and new testament is full of God’s injunction to His people to care for the needy. Christian life connotes selfless life. We must wake up from our selfish lifestyle and begin to think about others even as we think about ourselves. We must desist from building great edifices while neglecting those young members of the church who don’t have anyone to pay for their school fees. We have enough church buildings; let us start building industries for our young graduates to work in. Let us help those in the hospital, visit those in the prison, clothe those that are naked, comfort the grieved, help the widow and fatherless, invest in the economy of the nation. Let be that beacon of truth and don’t let us shut our light off from the rest of the world! |
Religion / Re: A Call For Righteousness In The Nation by Eben2: 9:12am On Dec 19, 2014 |
IS BOKO HARAM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE NATIONS WOES? My candid answer is No! What is responsible for this Nation’s woes is unrighteousness in every home and total disregard to God and godliness. The bible says: “righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people”. Examples abound in the scriptures of nations (especially Israel) that received divine judgment as a result of their unrighteous life-style. Our beloved country – Nigeria has been plunged into total darkness and completely enslaved by evil; right from our homes, to the Local, State and Federal government. The church that is supposed to be the light in our darkness has lost its credibility and the home its values. The fact remains that the greatest contributor to the plight of this blessed nation is the church! The church leadership is doing nothing (their messages even encourage it) to check the process of decivilising men in the name of vast organizations, of destroying the spring of tenderness, of compassion, of fellow-feeling in human heart. The need of the nation today is human unity and the church is proving to be great obstacle in its way. Even most denominations don’t see face to face. We have departed from our original purity, lost our dynamic vigour and degenerated into arrogant sects. The spiritual inspiration has been buried under irrational habits and mechanical practices. If only ten percent (10%) of the population of Christians in this nation genuinely have the life of Christ in them, then, the nation will surely experience greatness and tranquility! Ten percent of Christians I say who are genuinely broken, saved and Christ-like are more than what God need to change the fortunes of this nation. God said, if I can see just ten people in Sodom who are righteous, then I will not destroy it. Boko Haram, bad leadership are only instruments in the hand of God to punish our Sin. If we can have an handful of true Christians who are selfless, loving and godly; who will not take or give bribe nor lie, who will discharge their duty in their little offices faithfully and without prejudice, who will not lust after their neighbour’s spouses, who will take the law of the land seriously and obey it, who will not keep malice with their neighbours, who will be good example to their spouses and children in words, actions and disposition, who will shun religion and cleave to righteousness, who will love peace and pursue it at all cost; then, we will have a happy nation. WHAT DOES THE CHURCH NEED, PRAYER OF CURSES OR PRAYER OF REPENTANCE The scripture says: “if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land” 2 Chronicles 7:14. It is very clear here brothers and sisters, for our land to be healed and for peace to be restored; we must humble ourselves and seek the face of God in a heart-felt repentance. Here lies the solution to our problems. Someone asked me one day: “are we not praying enough in this nation, why is it that with all our prayers, things are not turning for the best”? Yes! We do pray in this nation and am not sure if we have a country that prays or is more religious than Nigeria in the whole world. However, how do you expect the righteous God to answer the prayers of a totally evil people? Those who pray and praise like angels but act and talk like monsters once they step out of the church. Those that leave the church to brothels and bear parlors after each service. Those that pay fat tithes and offering from money stolen from the country and their fellow humans. Those that will do anything to make money so they can be known and respected in the church. Those that leave the point of prayer to shed innocent blood and you can go on and on. The good Lord will not answer such prayers for bible says: “Behold the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy that it cannot hear. But your iniquities (sin, unrighteousness) have separated between you and your God and your sins have hid his face from you that He will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood and your fingers with iniquity, your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness (irritable words). None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth; they trust in vanity and speak lies; they conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity.” Isaiah 59: 1 – 4. Emphasis mine. So, it is very clear that given our present corruption within and without; we are only wasting our energy praying for vengeance. What the church as well as the nation needs now is a prayer of repentance. We need to turn back to our God and seek Him in truth. We must put aside all these religious activities and seek the Lord with the whole of our heart. We as a matter of urgency, must see the evil in our ways and like the prodigal son, return back to our heavenly Father with total humility. We must go to the Lord and ask for the grace to forsake all lies and pursuit of vanity and He will heal our land! Let us remember Nineveh who after hearing the pronouncement of God’s judgment on them quickly saw the evil in their doings and repented. The repentance did not just involve the low class alone but every citizen of that county. From the president to the lowest citizen did repent and prayed and the judgment of God was stayed on them. Fellow Nigerians and brethren in Christ, if only we can take this step as a church and nation, Boko Haram, bad leadership and corruption will fizzle out of the country totally. “Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts and let him return unto the LORD and He will have mercy upon him and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon” Isa 55:7. Remember the nation of Israel; they were specially chosen by God but each time they turn from God to evil, they were punished but genuine repentance always brought about great deliverance. Let the church repent from its pursuit of vanity and the nation from its evil and total disregard for God and godliness and we will give birth to a nation of peace and prosperity. |
Religion / A Call For Righteousness In The Nation by Eben2: 7:25am On Dec 19, 2014 |
One of our fathers in the Lord sometimes ago called all Christians in this country to begin to send torrent of curses on all anti-Christian elements in the country. He said it is high time we arose as great soldiers of God and fight with prayers of fire and brimstone on God’s enemies. As much as I agree with him that Christians are supposed to be soldiers in the army of the Lord; his call for rain of curses on the supposed ENEMIES of the Cross of Christ call to mind a lot of questions: Who are the enemies of God? Is Boko Haram responsible for the Nation’s woes? What does the Christian body need, prayer of curses or prayer of repentance Will Nigeria problems be solved if Boko Haram and its sponsors are nibbed in the mud? What are the responsibilities of the Church and the Church leaders in the Nation building? WHO ARE THE ENEMIES OF GOD? Philipians 3:18 – 19 says “For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the Cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things”. From here, it is clearly stated that it is not only those who persecute the name of Christ and His followers that are the enemies of God but majorly those who are in the church but not in Christ. Those who have the form of godliness but denying the power thereof; the mixed multitude in the church and those who use the name of Christ to enrich their pockets and at the same time fulfill their fleshly lusts even at the expense of others. The self-indulgent Christians, people who claim to be Christians but can’t live up to Christ’s model of servant-hood and self-sacrifice. As Tyndale rightly put it: “Such people satisfy their own desires before even thinking about the needs of others”. They do not realize that the freedom that Christ gives to Christians does not in any way mean freedom to be selfish. It means taking every opportunity to serve and to become the best person you can be. God frowns at and sees as His enemies those who live to appease their appetites, those who believe so strongly in their greatness that they become slaves to pride, those who are so concerned with earthly trivia that during worship, their minds wander. They are so consumed with work that worship and brotherly love is so inconvenient; so busy planning the next party and church events that there is not time for prayer; so engrossed in material possessions and fame that righteousness is shunned. Deacons in the church but demons at home; ministers in the church but monsters in the place of work; preachers on the pulpit but perverts at work; saints in the church but satan in the society. These vices and more are what is prevalent in the church today. Our pulpit has been turned to money-making machines where truth can no longer be told in order not to push out the tithe payers. Where members are indirectly instigated to be corrupt and live beyond their means. Righteousness, peace, self-denial, temperance, patience, love (for God, friends and foes), hope, longsuffering, goodness, faith, meekness, even Jesus and His redemptive work on Calvary is no longer preached. What we have now are messages that will tickle the fancy of the congregation, that will encourage theft, covetousness, pride, worldliness, hatred, corruption, envy, fornication etc. nobody prays for righteousness and salvation of souls and desire to be more like Christ anymore; if anybody does, it is only mentioned in the passing, to fulfill all righteousness. What we have today are prayers of define turn-around, fire on enemies (real & imagined), double, triple and multiple promotions, someone should die so that one can access his divine destiny, prayer for latest mansions, cars and private jets. All these that we may consume it upon our lusts. And we complain of corruption and evil in the land!? In essence therefore, the church of today is the real enemy of God; like the Israelites, though chosen, we have lost our first love and turned to idols (our belly, pride and flesh). |

enm: Whoa! Wonderful testimony I must say. I don't know if you have gone through my testimony before on this forum. I was also a sex addict that the SAVIOUR graciously looked out for and saved when all hope of redemption had fail. Mine was worse because I made life difficult for my beautiful and loving wife, infected her with STDs. But God did not allow me to perish and destroy my life and marriage with my useless lifestyle. He loved me even when I detested myself! Thank you Lord for saving this undeserving soul! 2 Likes 1 Share |

Weah96: God does not work with numbers. In Sodom, only three souls were saved; in the time of Noah, less than 10 that believed were saved among the inhabitant of the earth; as great as the population of the children of Israel that left Egypt, only two entered the promised land. God is not a respecter of persons. He will honor only those that honor Him. It is not just about Muslims, even a larger part of Christian who are only religious and not righteous will be disappointed. John 3:16-19. Please note in particular verses 18 and 19 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. Those who do not believe will be condemned and verse 19 gave the reason why. The kingdom of God is not for those that love darkness and sin. The way of salvation has been shown to all men and if you decide to shun it, then God is not to blame! Titus 2:11-14 11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Hello op, Being born again is not about learning to keep some religious rules. It is about being born of the Word and of the Spirit. An unregenerated soul is carnal in nature and essence and such a fellow live to fulfill and pursue the lusts of the flesh which is totally at variance to the will of God and the life of the Spirit. Such fellow finds it difficult to live without the lustful desires and addictions. He/she live as slave to these lifestyle! Romans 7: 16-25. The irony of this canal state of a man is that though he finds it difficult to do without these things, deep down within him, he hate to do them but he lacks the power to free himself. Now, no one can be born again merely by willing it. You must first realize that you are a sinner in need of the SAVIOUR just like the prodigal son. This realization must be followed by a genuine repentance I.e. a godly sorrow for evil done and a genuine desire to do away with the yoke of sin. It is after these that The Spirit comes in and cleanse and heal your dirty and broken heart. He makes you a new creature and gives you the power to go and sin no more! Consequently, those lifestyles and addictions you thought you could not do without become repugnant to you. Living a life of holiness within and without in this sinful world becomes easy for you through the help of the Holy Spirit. My dear brother all you need to do is open up for Jesus and He will do the rest! If He could safe I terrible person like me, then, He can safe anyone! 'Behold I stand at the door and knock....' F00028: As much as I hate to argue. I will try to explain things to you one last time. I am sure you are convinced and I pray that your hardened heart will be melted and you will see the light of the gospel. An explanation of mat 15:24 which you wrongly quoted as Matt 15:2 will take a lot of my time but suffice to say that Christ told His disciples to take the gospel to the outermost part of the earth. And the testimony of John even before the beginning of Christ earthly ministry was that He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the whole world. Moreover, if He was just for Isreal, how come He saved me, a Nigerian? Your quoting John 18:3 makes me shook my head for you. The bible is not like Quran. It follow events as they occurred and not just a dream of someone. When they came with all their instrument of war, what happened to them in verse 6 when He answered them "I am He"? They fell down! Hallelujah! Why would He want to fight what He came to do? It had been spoken hundreds of year that He would die for the sin of the world, He just told His disciples He would soon be crucified, He even told Judas during the last supper to quickly do what he had made up his mind to do! So why would He fight with mere sword when He could easily have commanded angels to take over. Remember He doesn't take orders from angels as Mohammed claimed but He is their Lord and His command they will do. Brother, open your heart! I will continue to pray for you. Be blessed! |

F00028: What is explained beautifully in quran 53:18? Nothing is beautifully explained in quran my brother. All what you have there are incoherent words that has no begining or ending and most times follow no logical thought. I make strong effort to study it not because it is a good read but so i can how the mind of my people in Islam work and thereby able to show them the light. quran 35:18 says: "and no burdened soul can bear another's burden, and if one heavy laden crieth for help with his load, naught of it will be lifted even though he unto who he crieth be of kin, thou warnest only those who fear their Lord in secret and have establihed worship. he who groweth in goodness, growth only for himself, he cannot by merit redeem others. unto allah is the journeying." What is beautifully explained here? the words are not even coherent. Where is sin mentioned? why can't I bear the burden of my brother when God says I should be my brother's keeper? and who tells you or mohammed that a man born into sin can grow in goodness by himself? If he (mohammed) so believed man without the help of God can grow in goodness, why did he not show it by example. why did he grow from bad to worse? getting more wicked and blood thirsty by the day? Believe me, if Mohammed had discarded all the things Khadijat and co filled his head with and trusted in the saving grace of our Lord Jesus, he would have been a wonderful man, his numerous wives would not have faced so much pain and humiliation, his children would have died in peace and just maybe (becaue the devil could have looked for an alternative) the world would have been more peaceful than it is now but for his fisation that Arabs must have a prophet too and his quest to be an army general. Luke 22:36. Dearest, I say again, do not quote any scripture just because someone quoted it to defend he religious violence. If there is anything the world over agree upon, it is the peaceful person of our Lord Jesus Christ. Even when his disciples told Him that He should allow them to call fire like Elijah to consume those that refused to accept the gospel: but he turned and rebuked them and said, ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them..." Luke 9:55, 56. Now what was Jesus saying when He asked His disciples to take purse, scrip, shoes, sword etc, what was he saying? If you are a student of the bible, you will recall in Luke 9:3 where He informed them not to take any of the above in the journey and now he commanded them to take it. The disciple took the words literarilly as you take it but didnt understand He was talking in parables. In the past, he was with them and there was no need for them to be prepared for temptations and trials, because He was always there to defend them, but now He was about to be taken and so, they will need to be prepared and fortified for the temptations, trials and persecutions to come. Remember in the verses preceding 36, He told about Judas who would soon betray Him and warned Peter that he would soon deny Him. He was simply telling them to be prepared for the trials they would soon face. He made the meaning of His words known in verse 40 "... pray that ye enter not into temptation". When Peter who misinterpreted His words used physical sword to cut off the ear of that boy, our Lord who only came to saved that which was lost, rebuked Peter and healed the ear that was cut off! Why dont you forget about religion and let Jesus save your soul. He came for that purpose! |

F00028: My dear brother, I do hope you read all that i posted. All your questions have been answered. I hope you will read with an open mind so you can find salvation for your soul. Believe me, i do care for your soul! Why rely on what others wrote? why not take the bible yourself and study it. tell me where and when our Lord Jesus shed any blood and/or ask His disciple to do same. If the person you quoted is talking about old testament of the bible, why not pick it yourselve and study in order to understand. Besides, those are the scriptures mohammed fundly call the scriptures despite the fact that he had very little knowledge of it. Al-Mala'ikah 25 "...their messangers came unto them with clear proofs and with Psalms and the Scripture giving light" |
