so God will come down to come and say miniskirt is wrong or what?
are you out of your mind, eben 2?

take a picture when you see another indecent dressing in any church!

No! God does not need to come down to say miniskirt is wrong, the Bible is there to tell how His people should behave themselves both in and outside the church. But its for those who has obtain salvation through the saving grace of God.

you are just making up your own argument -

reason like an educated individual. we cannot start anything without defining what indecent dressing really means.
when has someone dressed indecently? is there a universal definition for it regardless of culture, location, race, etc?
i will be glad if you can provide answers to that - i would also be glad if you can provide pictures of indecent dressers in any church.
thanx!

We are talking about the church of God here and God does not need ur education to set His standard.

Besides, everybody knows what dress is decent and which is not. and i maintained that a truly born-again child of God will never expose any part of his/her body for an outsider to see in the name of fashion; because such is not canally minded but only work according to the dictates of the Spirit.
Religion / Re: Indecent Dressing In Churches Worries Nigerian Pastor by Eben2: 8:58pm On Oct 07, 2011
@coogar,

am not surprised to see that your argument for indecent dressing could not be surported by any scriptural reference.

please note that God is not a respecter of persons. His standard cannot and would not be lower for anybody be u a nigerian or a european. 'nevertheless, the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, the Lord knoweth them that are His. And let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity' 2 Tim 2 :19.

a truly born-again child of God will and cannot dress anyhow because such will not be carnally minded cos a carnal mind will always see a spritual thing as senseless and unconfortable.

in fact, a true child of God will not feel confortable in an indecent dress. he sees his body as the temple of the most High God and must be kept holy, he will not do anything that will make his brother fall or prevent a non-believer from coming to the saving grace of God.

as for those that call those that speaks against indecent dressing in the house of God perverts, be saved and read your bible very well and u'll see that the bible admonishes those that are saved to flee all appearances of evil. are u now saying that people that fear God and want to keep thier salvation should run away from the church because of unsaved-dresssing-indecently? shocked shocked

2 Timothy 2:19 - Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

God has, is and will not work with a sinful man. The eyes of God are purer than to behold iniquity!

@OLAADEGBU,

I've gone thru your post from the begining and I must thank God for His grace upon you. I pray He gives you more insight into His word that it may profit you and your listeners/readers. Indeed, faith cometh by hearing and hearing by God's word.

Notwithstanding brother, we can only pray for these people after we must have tried to show the light. I Cor 1:18 - 21 says: "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish, foolishness; but unto us which are saved. it sis the power of God. 19. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21. For After that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of the preaching to save them that believe"

Remember, the carnal mind cannot understand the things of the Spirit. Let's just put them in our prayers. Perhaps, the Lord will save them the way He saved us.

Religion / Re: Fight Your Battles On Your Knees by Eben2: 5:33pm On Jul 25, 2011
Hello brethren, lets have a look at "A Call Of Faith" cos without faith we cannot please God and how can He answer our prayer if we cant please him.

Reading from Rom 4:17
"As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations, before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were"

God has a time for every event under the sun. But sometimes, He may have to hasten certain things before the appointed time or extend certain divine deadlines usually due to an act of faith. Faith is so powerful that if you know how to operate it, you can almost always have your way. As a result of faith, Hezekiah, solemnly protesting God's due date, he got an additional 15 years! Do u have such faith that can move God's hand?

An understanding of God and timing shows that He calls non-existent things into manifestation by addressing them as though they already existed. You are created in God's image. You too can begin to call yourself the mother of specific children with specific names if you have been trusting God for the fruit of the womb.

If you are ready to call up your desired future, God is ready to give life to it. When Jesus called up Lazarus's corpse, God gave life to it. When God called up Sarah's dead womb, it received life. What is that dead, dying or impossible situation confronting you? Call it to life by faith, and experience the power of transformation. God will not quicken anytng you have left for dead but those things for whcich you sincerely desire life.

Remenber Jesus said: if you have faith like the grain of mustad seed, you will tell any mountain in ur life to move and it will obey you!
Religion / Re: Fight Your Battles On Your Knees by Eben2: 5:22pm On Jul 21, 2011
As for the prayers of Jesus not being answered, maybe i shld write out the passage of the scripture. (39)"And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him. (40) And when he was at the place. he said unto them, pray that ye enter not into temptation. (41) And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, (42) Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. (43) Anther there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. Luke 22:39 - 43

Jesus came in to save the world in form of a man with flesh and blood. He could feel pains and agony and he was tempted like humans in everyway but the goodnews is, he overcame Hebrews 4:15.

Jesus knew he was going to suffer and die for the world to be saved even from the walk go but as someone with flesh and blood, the body was tempted, didnt want to suffer but to God be the glory, Jesus knew it is the will of the Father for Him to die so He can pay the prize for our sins once and for all. What more answer could we want than an angel coming from heaven to encourage our Lord. If God had decided to spare Him, what could have happened to you and I? no wander the Bible says: "for God so loved the world that He gave His only beggotten Son, that whosover believeth in Him shld not perish but have everlasting life". Dont let His deathe be in vain in your life!
Religion / Re: Fight Your Battles On Your Knees by Eben2: 5:04pm On Jul 21, 2011
Hello brethren,

As a true believer in Christ and His redemption work, I believe I can approach the throne of grace in whatsoever way the Holy Spirit leads me.

The Bible says we do not know how to pray but that the Holy Spirit teaches us to pray and make intercessions on our behave with groanings which cannot be uttered Rom 8:26.

While praying therefore, I allow the leading of the HS. Sometimes I pray lying flat on the floor, on my kneels with my hands raised up. At times i worship Him kneeling down and touching the floor with my head several times and at some other times I pray standing with my head raised up, hands claps and eyes closed. Times without number, i pray while driving or walking along the road. In all these, what is important to me is to feel the connection and communication between me and my Father and the assurance of answer to my prayers.

@Sweetnecta,

the things of the Kingdom are foolishness to them that are wise in thier own sight. The poster did not post this message for you or anyone else to critizice but for those that have ears to be blessed! He's simply saying everyone born of God has the right to go to Him with their problems and settle it there.

You and your likes should know that not every tread is meant for you to show how skillful you are with words. Christ did not come to create a religion but to reconcile those WHO BELIEVE back to God. Christianity is about FAITH! If you dont have that faith, then keep to yourself but believe this, when God is ready for you, you'll beg for your unbelieve. Ask Paul!

3.They also fail to put into congnisance the perculiar,unique and natural nature of every youth for example, the craving for opposite sex attraction, adolescent trait and character, personality make up and identity, peer group pressure, social status, biological formation, quest for independence and juveline delinquency all this and many more are the factors affecting growth and development depending on how well handled.

My little story above is y i totally agree with Tioluwa post (April 4, 2006). I was not prepared for wat i met in the outside world. This is the area i'm really praying God will show DL how and what they shld do to prepared their youths for this youthful cravings. They shld allow their youths to mingle with other youths, teach them practical things about sex and other youthful deliquencies and how they can physically and spritually deal with them.

Although i now attend RCCG, but everything i know about Christ I learnt from DL and i still attend their Bible Study at times and also listen to their recorded messages.

NB: I thank the good Lord for restoring me after years of backsliding!

, i also grew and abound in the grace of God. I had great peace and joy in my heart that I could not explain. Inspite of the fact that for four years i was an houseboy, others would ask me how they could get wat i had and i was alway happy to show them the way to the cross.

Alas! by 2008, i gained my freedom and i moved into the world in the real sense of it and i was choked. I tried hard not to but the flesh had the upper hand and I fell! cry cry cry

I was once a member of DL bible church. I joined the church as a youth in 1994 and I had my first accounter with God in the Church. Be4 dat year, i never new who i was and where my life was heading. I was academically very poor, physically unhealthy and spiritually decayed!

I came to Lagos in that year to work as an houseboy and i was previleged to attend this church. I started listening to their messages and biblical teachings (most especially the youth monday bible study). they were not just interested in my spiritual growth but also in my academic excellence. I was told i can be the best among my equal by having great faith and hardwork. I can never forget what i learnt from: "Benefits of private personal studies". their teachings gave me so much inspiration dat i could learn anything by studying on my own (i could not read and understand a simple sentence before this). Ever since then, i've always been one of the best if not the best in my studies,

Deeper Life is never forceful on tithe. In fact, the time they spend in collecting tithes and offerings can be very short. They believe in tithing and preach it but they never see u as under a curse or evil for not paying tithe.

Moreover, if u bring a very large amount of money as tithe to the church and ur income is found to be well below wat you pay, you'll be questioned as to how u come about it and if u cannot find a sufficient answer, your money will be returned to u.
