Music they say elevates your soul and gives definition to life. Music to some set of people is a form of livelihood i.e some sing just to make a living out of it.

But on the other hand, some sing because they are gifted in it and they do this well, to the extent that you wonder if they were ever from this world.

To every positive thing, there is a Negative side of it. When some set of people sing Music, you wonder why they ventured into singing. Jokes aside we have lots of them in the Nigerian Music Industry.

With the likes of 2face, Olamide AKA Baddo sneh, Davido AKA OBO, Wizkid AKA Star Boy, Yemi Alade AKA Mama Africa and a host of other Nigerian Musicians that give us quality songs, there are also some sets of the so called “Nigerian Musicians” that give us sub-standard songs.

Now the Big question is ;
What Is The Worst Song You Have Heard From A Nigerian Artiste This Year ??

The People Democratic Party, PDP, National Caretaker Committee Chairman, Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, has refuted insinuations going round that he was presently nursing presidential ambition.

Speaking in Liberty radio programme on Guest of the week in Kaduna Sunday, he said, “I have not solocited to anybody to talk on my presidential ambition. My focus is the PDP national convention that is coming, let’s get over the convention.”

Senator Makarfi said that after the PDP national convention, he was free like every other Nigerian to determine how his future would look like.

He assured Nigerians that after the party’s convention, those who left the party for one reason or the other and those who are not members of the party would have no reason but to embrace the party as a result of the transparency of the convention.

Commenting on the problems associated with PDP in its 16 years of leadership in the country, he explained, “Some problems facing the country could be traced as far as during the amalgamation of the country and at other stages of leadership of Nigeria before the coming of PDP in 1999.”

He acknowledged that the ruling party has tried in fighting insurgency but added, “Today we are witnessing more kidnapping in all nooks and crannies of the country and other social vices that were not known during the PDP era.”

Speaking on dislodging APC in 2019, he noted that the party was hopeful and working hard to ensure its realization, adding, “Nigerians know the situation they have found themselves under the present dispensation and the need for them to do the needful in the coming general elections.”

Politics / Tinubu, Nigeria’s Greatest Politician Alive – Obanikoro by Ebisco016: 7:24am On Nov 26, 2017
A former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, has described the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as Nigeria’s greatest politicians alive.

Obanikoro said this on Saturday in Lagos while formally announcing his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC.

In his speech, ‘The Exigency of Time and the Dynamism of Politics’, made available to SUNDAY MC EBISCO, the former PDP chieftain said defecting to the APC was a homecoming for him.

“To me and to all my associates, it is a return to our natural habitat. This (APC) is my home. My political voyage started from this association and I am proud to have learnt under our great leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. The late Chief Obafemi Awolowo is the greatest politician of all time and I make bold to say the greatest politician of our time is Tinubu.

“At this stage of my life, it is important for me to return to my original base and be part of the giant strides being achieved in Lagos State which would not have been possible without the sagacity of the architect of our modern democracy – my indefatigable boss, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu,” Obanikoro said.

Speaking on why he joined the APC, he said, “I am already fulfilled. I have traversed the length and breadth of this country and I believe that Lagos stands tall among other states in Nigeria. Today, we are the fifth largest economy in Africa and Governor (Akinwunmi) Ambode is working assiduously to make Lagos the third largest economy and transit from a megacity to a smart city.

“I want to be part of this project. I’ve re-dedicated myself to the progress and prosperity of Lagos.”

Politics / 2019 Election: Makarfi Will Contest For Presidency – Aide by Ebisco016: 4:13pm On Nov 24, 2017
The Peoples Democratic Party has said its National Caretaker Committee Chairman, Ahmed Makarfi will contest the 2019 Presidential election under the platform of the party.

Abdullahi Ibrahim Jalo, former National Deputy Publicity Secretary of the party made the disclosure while addressing newsmen in Gombe, on Thursday.

Jalo, who is also an adviser, Hausa Media Services, to Makarfi disclosed that the former Kaduna State Governor personally informed him of his decision to contest for the presidential ticket of the PDP in 2019.

According to Jalo, “Let me make it abundantly clear, Makarfi is contesting for the presidential ticket of the party. Makarfi is like any other Nigerian and he has all the qualities to contest. If my party wishes to make him its presidential candidate, so be it. We shall support him.

“Makarfi told me vividly that he’s contesting and that could not be linked to a fallacious and misleading assumption that he’s supporting (former acting national chairman of the party, Prince Uche) Secondus.”

The former deputy spokesperson of the party also alleged that some powerful forces within the party have planned to scuttle the PDP’s upcoming National convention in December.

Jalo noted that if the PDP fails to conduct a credible national convention in December, the party may collapse.

“If PDP fails to put it right by allowing governors to impose a candidate, not what the people want, not in the people’s interest, certainly PDP will scatter. The political class will move to form a new party,” he said.

Politics / Maina Speaks From Hideout, Reveals What Must Be Done For Him To Come Out by Ebisco016: 3:12pm On Nov 24, 2017
Abdulrasheed Maina, embattled former Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, has signified interest to appear before the House of Representatives if his security is guaranteed.

The former Pension boss said he was ready to appear before the committee and provide more details on the controversy that led to his sack if lawmakers can ensure that no security agency arrests or harasses him.

He said this through his lawyer, Mohammed Sani Katu on Thursday during the committee’s investigative hearing into his reinstatement back into the Civil Service.

He said, “We ask that you give Maina protection so that no security agency will interfere or arrest him so that he’ll appear in person.

“If that is done, we can assure you that Maina will come. We want you to give Maina a cover to appear.”

Katu had earlier insisted that his client was still on the payroll of the Federal Government.

Maina is currently on the run for allegedly committing fraud to the tune of N2.1 billion while in office.

Despite been declared wanted, reports had it that the Attorney-General of the Federation and Justice Minister, Abubakar Malami had directed the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) to reinstate Maina.

Displeased by the report, President Muhammadu Buhari had in October ordered the immediate disengagement of Maina.

Politics / How ‘briefcase Billionaires’ Caused Nigeria’s Economic Problems – Emir Sanusi by Ebisco016: 10:32am On Nov 24, 2017
The Emir of Kano, Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi II, on Thursday stated that Nigeria’s economic growth and development, is being hindered by the emergence of those he tagged as “briefcase billionaires”.

Sanusi said this while speaking at the end of a three-day Northern Regional Conference on Security, Justice and Development: Effective implementation of intervention measures’.

The former apex bank boss said when people get wealth they did not work for, “what follows would be disastrous for the nation.”

“When people just get wealth they didn’t work for, what that signifies was that, many injustices were permeating round many quarters of the society, meaning there is something wrong in the system that was put in place for a very long time of our national history.”

He added: “How many of our briefcase billionaires can show you their business plants and the number of people they employ in their companies? The companies are non-existent in the first place. So, what are we talking about?”

Sanusi made it clear that the more the society produces briefcase billionaires, the more the masses would get more impoverished.

“We need to build an economy that looks at people; not that which further creates gaps, unimagined gaps between people. You cannot call this capitalism either. It is through such kind of arrangements that end up in creating an insecure society. We all created the insecurity we are suffering from. Justice is one of the key and fundamental issues that can address our predicaments,” he said.

A former President of the Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide, Udengs Eradiri, has identified those fueling the militant group, Niger Delta Militants in the oil rich region.

Eradiri revealed that some external forces were behind the activities of the militant group.

He made the revelation when he addressed reporters in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital on Tuesday, claiming that even the Federal Government was aware of the whole scheme.

He said that agitations in the region arose from long years of underdevelopment, neglect, lack of equity, insincerity, among other challenges.

He said to solve the agitations in the region, the government had to show more commitment and seriousness in addressing the causes of agitations.

Eradiri stated, “The government is not serious. All they want to do is blackmail some persons politically and dent people’s images. I am from this area and I know how it works. All I want is for everything here to be better.

“I believe and I know that all this Avengers’ stuff and threats are external. They are fuelled by external forces; people who just want to disrupt things are behind it. Their thinking is that money will come out it through negotiation. Even the government knows about it. It is all about destabilising things and stealing money from system.

”My advice to the youth is that they should continue to agitate. Yes, the only language that they understand is constant agitation. If they did not agitate, the Amnesty budget, you remember I was shouting, it was N20bn, from N56bn.‎”

Few days back, two persons were killed and two others injured in a fresh attack on Jol village in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Politics / Presidency Speaks On Buhari’s Alleged Plan To Gag Media In Nigeria by Ebisco016: 10:42pm On Nov 07, 2017
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has refuted claims in some quarters that President Muhammadu Buhari was planning to gag the Nigerian media, especially the social media circle.

The minister said there was nothing of such, stressing that Nigeria media was acknowledged as one of the freest in the world.

Speaking at the 39th Session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation in Paris on Tuesday, Mohammed said that the freedom of the media had been further enhanced through the Freedom of Information Act, adding that government would continue to make efforts to further enable the media to serve the people better.

Contributing to a debate on the “UN Plan of Action on Safety of Journalists and the Issue of Impunity’’, the minister said the “Nigerian Government does not engage in impunities against journalists and will never tolerate such.”

“This effort is intended not only to produce a robust and healthy media, but for the journalism profession to continue to thrive under a conducive environment.

“The right to Freedom of Information, commonly understood as the right to access information held by public offices, is now widely recognised in Nigeria as a fundamental human right.

“By this act, the Nigerian Government is doing its utmost best to ensure accountability, transparency and openness,’’ he said.

Few days ago, Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari as planning to censor social media in Nigeria

Politics / Osinbajo A Liar For Saying Jonathan Withdrew N100bn, $289m Before 2015 President by Ebisco016: 10:02pm On Nov 07, 2017
Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation, on Tuesday lambasted the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo for saying the immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan withdrew the sum of N100bn and $289m two weeks to the 2015 presidential election.

The former Minister described the Vice President as a “pernicious liar and a sanctimonious, self-serving dwarf” for making such statement.

In a tweet via his official Twitter handle, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain dared the Vice President to “leave Jonathan alone” and clean up their mess.

“There is nothing worse than a pernicious liar and a sanctimonious, self-serving dwarf.

“Leave Jonathan alone and clean up ur filthy mess!,” he wrote.

Osinbajo had recently said the massive looting of the nation’s resources by the Jonathan’s administration is responsible for the economic crunch the country suffers from under the present administration.

He specifically said that seeks before the 2015 elections, the government of Goodluck Jonathan, ostensibly doled out N100billion and $295million in cash within two weeks.

Politics / Buhari, The Man Who Became ‘born-again’ At 75 [MUST READ] by Ebisco016: 11:45am On Nov 07, 2017
President Muhammadu Buhari is trying to do new things. He has announced payment of pensions for ex-Biafran police officers who were granted presidential pardon in 2000. This is very commendable, given the backdrop of his leadership. In fact, it sounded too good to be real and I had personally done some checks to ensure I wasn’t hooked to fake news when the copy came to my desk.

It was real! I tried to create an imagery to underscore the development. It was like defying all the psycho-motive variables and learning to be right-handed at 75. It was also forceful enough to question the fundamentals of nature and conclude that the snake can indeed transform both in skin and character. Folks who would not associate Buhari with any level of national broadmindedness would have been thoroughly disappointed. Buhari has become a born-again, even at 75. Truly, it is never too late to make paradise.
Payment of the pension reportedly commenced in Enugu on October 20 to 162 officers and 57 next-of-kins of deceased officers after due verification. I shall not exceed the given circumstances to invent a motive for this sudden love of Ndigbo by Buhari. Some people have said that the President who is facing increasing opposition to his re-election bid even within the APC has 2019 in mind. I sincerely do not know about that. If every kind gesture is selfishly motivated, the word ‘philanthropy’ will automatically lose its meaning and may have to be redefined.

And so, whether it has become expedient or not for President Buhari to act nicely at this point in time, I have decided to congratulate him on his newly acquired spirit of one Nigeria. Congratulations Mr. President! He could choose to be nasty, and as we all know, nothing would happen. When people do well and they are told so, they tend to do more. And so it is with Buhari. Earlier, on October 12, while meeting with political leaders from the Southeast, comprising governors, ministers, the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and Ohaneze leadership at the Aso Rock Villa, President Buhari had promised to complete the second Niger bridge, east-west road and the east-west coastal rail project before 2019.

I will modify that to mean before May 29, 2019, which is about 19 months away. On a different date and occasion but same venue, President Buhari had also told a delegation of Niger Delta leaders that the east-west road, which former President Goodluck Jonathan, a son of the Niger Delta (emphasis is mine) failed to deliver would be completed by him, Buhari, before 2019. These are very huge promises. What they effectively mean is that close to N2tr about the cost of the projects and about the budgets of all the 19 Northern States put together in 2016 will be graciously spent in the Southeast and Niger Delta before the next general election.

And nobody is shouting: Hosanna! Hosanna! Blessed is he that comes in the name of the savior of the Southeast and South-south! That is not all. The President at some other setting had told Ambassador Michael Zinner of Germany that: “We are studying the instruments of the Amnesty Programme inherited from previous administration with a view to carrying out commitments made that have not been delivered.”

What else are Nigerians or more specifically Southern Nigerians looking for in a statesman? At this juncture, kindly permit the cliché, people saying Buhari is only the President of Northern Nigeria on the basis of alleged lopsided composition of his government of which 81 of 100 key government appointments including the service chiefs are said to be Moslems from the North, should shut-up and remain so. Enough is enough! We cannot continue to hit at an old man who is struggling to learn new tricks, in spite of himself, to please others including even his enemies.

If still in doubt about the new Buhari, consider the follow-up to the earlier gesture of payment of pension to ex-Biafran police officers. The President became uncharacteristically law abiding and great respecter and believer of court processes. To the chagrin of critics, the federal government, which is the same thing as President Buhari, has agreed to pay, wait for it, a whooping N88b in these hard times as compensation to 493 identified civil war victims following a judgment of the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) court.

I don’t think you people understand what Buhari has done! He has just made 493 Igbo families or even individuals multi-millionaires with each carting home about N180 million. Actually, my father told me that an uncle of mine who was living in Abagana, in present day Anambra State, in the time of the civil war was tortured and killed in cold blood by federal troops allegedly led by Muhammadu Buhari who was then a lieutenant in the Nigerian Army. Nothing is intended; I am only trying to put that vital piece of information in the public space just in case something like a search for next of kin crops up. I am the next of kin. My father also added that we (the OGBODOs) are somehow connected to Nsukka in Enugu State.

Kindly note too that the Buhari who is now obeying court orders and accepting consent judgment like an obedient school boy is the same as the Buhari who had blatantly and serially flouted the orders of the same ECOWAS court and courts in Nigeria regarding bail for incarcerated former National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki. There is nothing God cannot do. We only need more prayers and fasting concerning other things like the nationalistic prosecution of the anti-corruption war and the will, even if it is half as strong as the will to deploy python dancers and smiling crocs, to tackle decisively the Fulani herdsmen and give farmers in the middle belt and elsewhere the peace of mind to produce food to feed the nation.

It is not all praises. There is yet an area where Buhari is lagging. Critics say as President, he has visited more cities in Europe, (especially in the United Kingdom, where he has spent almost equal number of days in London as he has spent in Aso Rock), America, Asia, the Middle East and even in Africa than he has visited cities in Nigeria. Except to Daura, many of his scheduled visits to locations within the country including Lagos and Port Harcourt had been cancelled in the last minute.

The good news, however, is that I have heard from the grapevine, not through any of his spokesmen anyway, that the President is working seriously to redress this copious deficit in his presidential operations. And that very soon, he will be afield and everywhere in Nigeria talking to stakeholders, including IPOB members and Niger Delta militants, to build a national consensus that will make the clamour for the restructuring of the country sound stupid.

It has taken time and energy to move Buhari to this point where he is seeing far beyond Daura and clearly too. I am not too sure if he has been successfully pushed to the point where he cannot return to old ways. This is exactly why we must not relent. The GOs and Imams must sustain the prayers and fasting to create a statesman out of Buhari. The man can simply refuse to move any further or more disturbingly, relapse into old ways, where, like a scorched snake, he will become more dangerous.

God will not allow that to happen. If anything, the mood is good for more miracles and something tells me that another batch of the kidnapped Chibok girls shall be secured from Boko Haram captivity in the weeks ahead. Somebody should shout a big amen to that!

We have all done well in getting Buhari to this glorious point. It remains to add that the prayer and fasting warriors should understand when to apply the brakes so that Buhari’s case is not over pleaded before God. I don’t think too many people would want him to unite Nigeria beyond 2019.

Justice Raheem Siyanbola of the Osun State High Court has sentenced one Mr. Olaniyan Isaah to five years imprisonment for biting his neighbour’s ear.

Olaniyan was first arraigned before the court on October 10, 2016, on three count charge, which included attempted murder.

The prosecution counsel, Mr Bamidele Salawu said the offence was committed contrary to sections 320(1), 335, and 338(1) respectively, of the criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol 2 Law of osun State of Nigeria 2002.

He informed the court that on 27th of July, 2015, at No1 Bolaji Olufunmi Street, Ipetumodu, Osun State, the accused forced his way into a room occupied by one Mr. Alonge Emmanuel, who he assaulted with an iron rod, over an alleged illicit affair with his wife.

According to the prosecution counsel, the accused further pursued Emmanuel to a location where he bit-off his ear.

The victim thereafter lodged a report at Divisional Police headquarters Ipetumodu where he was informed to go for medical treatment first, because of the severity of the injuries sustained.

Religion / "Naira Will Be Powerful Again" - Pastor Adeboye by Ebisco016: 10:27am On Nov 06, 2017
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has predicted that Nigeria’s legal tender, Naira, will become a powerful currency in the world again.

This is even as he said that those responsible for the devaluation of the Naira in the past few years will be arrested.

Adeboye made the declaration, weekend, at the November Holy Ghost Service with the theme: “Victory Ahead” held in Shimawa community, Ogun State.

The cleric said: “I told you that when we were building the first auditorium, the one by the expressway, and it was time for roofing and the roofing was going to cost N17, 000. We had no money for the project.

“Naira was powerful those days and Naira will be powerful again in Jesus name.

“Mighty auditorium, 100×50 metres, and you want to roof it with N17, 000!

“The tide will turn in favour of the naira,” Adeboye declared.

He added: “For all those who are deliberately devaluing the Naira, as my God lives, they’ll be arrested.”

Health / Idps Are Being Raped – Nigerian Govt Raises Alarm Over HIV/AIDS Rate by Ebisco016: 10:07am On Nov 05, 2017
Head, Humanitarian Assistance, Resettlement and Rehabilitation of the Presidential Committee on North-east Initiative (PCNI), Dr. Sidi Ali Mohammed, has attributed the increasing rate of HIV/AIDS in Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in the North-east to rampant cases of rape.

Ali Mohammed spoke on the sidelines of a PCNI meeting in Abuja.

He, however, assured that the security sub-committee of PCNI is working round the clock to ensure more places that are liberated were getting the humanitarian assistance they need.

“The major challenge for us in the health sector especially in the north east is that of human resource for health. Don’t forget, at the beginning of the insurgency, the first people that were attacked are the teachers and the health care workers”, Thisday quoted him as saying.

“They were killed, and naturally they are the first set of people to run away from the communities. Even before the insurgency, the north east has the worst maternal mortality, not only in Nigeria but the world over.

“I also admitted the fact that our camp coordination and management for now is very weak and therefore those people who are in the camp now are taking advantage of the people. So we intend to get it right by developing a humanitarian response plan for 2018 and 2019.”

“In that document, we need to capture aptly, what we think we need to do, to be able to bring a stop or put a stop to this situation of rape cases we see and increase in the rate of HIV/AIDS, that we are also noticing.

“Now as we speak, we have a lot of people coming to us to say we want to renovate your primary care center, we want to put drugs. But the people, the health workers that will work in these facilities are not there. For example, if you need to achieve reduction in maternal mortality, the group of health care workers that you need are the mid-wives.

“I can tell you, using Adamawa for example, Adamawa will need about three thousand plus mid wives today as we speak to be able to get to the minimum number they have. But what do we see in their school of nursing. Their school of nursing can only graduate fifty students at a time, in a year.”

“if you divide that by three thousand plus, you are going to get thirty something years, it will take Adamawa state assuming their population is static. But dont forget, the population will continue to increase, because even the North is unfortunately has the highest fertility rate again in the world, one of the highest fertility rate in the world, about 4.5%.

“So we need to get those people into those facilities, if at all our women would stop dying because they want to bring a baby into this world. Pregnancy is a thing of joy and therefore no woman, I repeat; no woman should die because she wants to bring a baby into this world.”

Politics / Enugu LG Polls: Police, NANS Dispel Death Rumour by Ebisco016: 6:17am On Nov 05, 2017
The Police in Enugu State have described as untrue rumour making the rounds that at least two persons lost their lives during today’s local government election in Enugu State.

Spokesman of the command, SP Ebere Amaraizu in a statement made available to journalists said nobody died in any part of the State during the election.

He said, “against the backdrop of the rumours making round that some persons were killed in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu state today 4/11/17, the state command of the Nigeria Police Force wishes to make it categorically clear that there was no loss of lives in Oji River and throughout the entire state.

“We wish to state that there was an issue in which some electoral officials and materials were held hostage by some group of persons who had insisted that there will not be election in Oji River and its environs and those group of persons also threatened to burn down the local government secretariate should the election go on.

“The situation lasted until the arrival of the state commissioner of police, Danmallam Mohammed and his entourage who had been on visitations of polling stations and booths monitoring security situations.

“Following the group’s resistance, the issue was professionally handled as they were dispersed and consequently, normalcy returned and there was commencement of distributions of electoral materials to centres and wards within Oji River and its environs. No loss of life and injury was recorded.”

In a related development, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commended the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) for organizing peaceful Local Government Elections in Enugu State, in spite of some failed plots to undermine the exercise.

Speaking after monitoring the elections in the state, the National President of NANS, Comrade Chinonso Obasi, told journalists that they were pleased with the conduct of the elections, applauding Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for providing an enabling environment, which he said gave the electorate the opportunity to exercise their franchise.

NANS President explained that despite the complaints by the oppositions over the alleged late arrival of election materials, which they intervened by making suggestions to ENSIEC, their observations from the polling units visited showed that the exercise was successful, peaceful and in accordance with the commission’s guidelines.

He, had however, requested the ENSIEC to extend the voting time to accommodate willing voters, a suggestion which the electoral body complied with by extending the polls till 5pm.

“We are so glad for the peaceful conduct of this Local Government Elections in Enugu State and we thank the governor for this feat, at least the people are voting and the process is ongoing and we will continue our independent monitoring to enable us give a comprehensive report”, the NANS President said.

Also speaking, the state chairman of NANS, Comrade Chidi Ilogede, accused those he described as “opponents of the Peoples Democratic Party of being behind some of the challenges encountered during the exercise in a failed attempt to discredit the elections”, calling on the security agencies to investigate and fish out those behind the explosions.

The ENSIEC had organized Local Government elections across the 17 Local Government Areas and 260 electoral wards in the state to elect those who will be at the helm of the council areas as chairmen and councilors, and the results are being awaited.
