ThatWarriBoy: I get you and believe me I knw how credit cards work but the cards are actually preconfigured to work as credit cards. Sometimes when I travel, I shop in certain places where only credit cards are accepted and the cards work just fine. All my other master and visa debit cards do not work in such places. Even on my Internet banking profile, it appears as a credit card. The only unique feature is that it is preloaded. 1 Like |

toucheli: Some visa and master cards are actually configured to work as credit cards. I hav a GTB visa dollar card which is set to work as a credit card but needs to be preloaded. Its usually accepted on all websites. ..at least in my experience so far. |

mrnilobrawn: This is kinda news to me. Apart from the $250 confirmation fee, i did not pay a dime in my school. I still hav not paid fees yet sef and we resume next week. I just knw I have to pay 1st semester fees b4 the standard deadline. I also had admission to UWindsor and they did not also ask for upfront payment. 2 Likes 1 Share |

kacchiz: Hmmn. I knw what how you mean cos I also made the same error thinking I'll go submit my docs at the vfs office while giving my biometrics. So I submitted very few docs online. What's done is done. I'll just advice u to pray and trust God. My docs were few but when God truly wants to work for you, he needs just your best effort. Mistakes or no...he'll still do what he'll do. Even this nairaland family attested to the fact that I submitted very few docs but I still got my trv. Infact I dey Canada now sef so don't beat yourself up. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

My dear nairalanders! Abeg make una help me thank God. I finally landed in Montreal last night. Twas not an easy journey. I flew using Royal Air Maroc and though the flight experience was fair enough, the customer service was not. I waited in Casablanca for a total of 12hrs as my flight was unceremoniously delayed for abt 8hrs. So everyone be duly adviced. I thank God for safe journey sha. After leaving naija by 6.40am, I arrived Montreal at 11.45pm. Montreal is 6hrs behind naija time. In the course of this experience, I met a NL who showed me truly what being a true brother's keeper is. Right on this thread, I asked if anyone was in my school and he responded. Since then, he has been assisting me in making my transition smooth. He got a friend to squat me in her crib while she travels to naija for some tine off and he also came to the airport to pick me, even at that very late hour. I got to the apartment at abt 2am after which he left for his place in temperature of abt -8 degrees Celsius. All these for a stranger he had never. I pay this tribute to him and pray God blesses you in a special way for showing kindness to a stranger and repay you in a million ways. I in turn will do same and more for someone cos you did for me. God bless you mightily. 24 Likes |

Snappyfingaz: There are different dynamics for different companies and I for one can understand one wanting to do things codedly until they materialize. I did not use any study leave letter from my company as it is even against policy. They won't give such letters because your job is not guaranteed if you leave for studies. In my case, I only used my payslips and Pension statement which corroborated my place of employment. You can also show your letter of employment I guess. |

redribs: I actually quite relate with you. While I do not under estimate the importance of an SOP, I only used an LOE in my application just in the same manner you used yours. I tried to review my application from an objective standpoint and provided explanations where I felt something was vague. I did not even knw what an SOP was until I joined this thread recently. So in all, the credibility and logical flow of your documents should actually do most of the work while an SOP if necessary would serve as the icing on the cake. Just my 2 cents! |

ThatWarriBoy: VFS will never give such details. They'll instead refer you to what is public information on the CIC website regarding processing time frames. Its already been established here that the online route is faster than the paper route. I think its even more reliable right now to assess the average time lines by reading through this thread in detail. |

pchax: I just came back from there again today and still no show. I have to leave Accra tomorrow and I don't have a passport. Please what options are available? Can I be allowed out of Accra and into Naija without a passport? I truly thought it would take a few days for my passport to be returned but now am stuck without a place to stay in Ghana and no passport to travel. |

misszionboo: Well mayb its dependent on the school. Av seen a lot of people on this forum apply to Niagara so mayb dey can share their point of view. For me though, my school sent me an Admission Letter straight up. All i had to pay for was a small fee to confirm my acceptance of the offer. Shikena! |

soji0509: I don't speak French...except the one I learnt and failed in Primary School. Its not needed for a TRV at least in my case it was not necessary since the school I applied to teaches in English. If you choose a school/course taught in French, the dynamics may be different then. P.S - I already responded to ur pm. |

henryosas: Just take a chill pill mehn...two weeks ago?? You can check processing timelines on the CIC website, and also read up on this thread to compare processing times for most people who have been attended to. It generally takes an average of 2 months or way less if your application is to be delayed. Hopefully that won't be your lot. Good luck! |
