Travel / Re: 29 African Migrants Trying To Cross To Italy Die As Boat Sinks In Tunisia by eeetuk(m): 3:44pm On Mar 27, 2023
"Earlier on Sunday, a human rights group said at least 19 refugees and migrants from sub-Saharan Africa had drowned off the coast of Tunisia while trying to cross the Mediterranean and reach Italy."

I bet you majority of them Nigerians. To be specific, they are ibos. They are on the go every time. Look at southeast geopolitical zone. Big areas. But the problem is ibos don't know how to develop land to keep their citizens at home. That is why Peter Obi won Lagos and Abuja. It was not by accident, instead, it is reflected in how southeast is managed. And how many times , have you heard ibos leaders promising to build northern Nigeria if elected president? And you believe that? Charity, they say, begins at home. If you don't love yourself, how can you love others? Ibos love to exaggerate their credentials, but please don't buy it. It is nothing, but empty can.
Politics / Pastor Umo Eno Administration And How He Can Make Akwa Ibom State Economic Power by eeetuk(m): 12:48pm On Mar 27, 2023
Pastor Umo Eno Administration and How he can make Akwa Ibom State Economic power
eeetuk

After pastor Umo Eno, the Governor-elect of Akwa Ibom state visited the incumbent governor of Akwa Ibom State to thank him for helping him to win the governorship election, he said his administration will be centered on continuity of outgoing administration of Udom Emmanuel policy. For real? If that is true, it will be recipe for failure. And here is why.

Udom Emmanuel administration was a disaster. Under Gov. Udom Emmanuel administration, the state collected an average of N104 billion each year from federal government, but the lives of Akwa Ibom state citizens have not been positively impacted in direct proportion to the amount of money the state earned each year. Why? Udom Emmanuel failed to invest in several key areas that would have improved the economic well beings of Akwa Ibom State citizens.

Education
Research shows that people who have good educational skills are more likely to succeed than those who don’t have good education. Key to improving education is teacher training. Studies show that there is a direct link between professional development of teachers and students’ performance, Kulshrestha & Pandy (2013). And according to the U.S. Department of Education, research confirms that teachers are the single most important factor in raising student achievement, Smith & Gillespie (2007). But this is not what is happening in Akwa Ibom State.
In Akwa Ibom state, school teachers are hired without teacher training background. The problem with this is kids and adults who graduate from schools each year cannot find work—leaving most of them to flee the state to other states like Lagos and Abuja to seek better lives. Akwa Ibom state educational standard is also declining. When west African examination council releases annual results, students in the state are ranked far below students from other states in Nigeria. That is not by accident. It is because the state government is not educational focused and for years neglected investment in education. Furthermore, the state has no state wide policy to equip the schools with best teachers. This must change. Pastor Umo Eno can in taking office required teachers to be trained before they can be hired to teach our kid.

Low Income Housing Scheme
Many governments around the world recognize the important of low-income houses for their citizens. Overcrowding can contribute to negative health issues, increase chronic disease and even provides opportunities for citizens to get injuries. Akwa Ibom state has 31 local governments. Not a single one of these local governments has low-income houses funded by the state. That leaves millions of citizens venerable to all kind’s diseases and hardship. With 31 local governments in the state and a population of about 10 million people, the state needs to build 250,000 low income houses each year to meet the housing needs of the citizens. This will guarantee that people who do not have jobs and cannot work because they are too old or have disabilities problems can have a place to live. Furthermore, this will guarantee that every citizen in the state has equal participation in local economy. As of now, only rich people can shop while the poor look on or rely on handouts. That is not the right way to build economy. You cannot have economy where only 1% of citizens participate. That is a recipe for disaster. It breeds crimes and all sort of violence into the communities. Pastor Umo Eno upon taking office should attack housing shortages for low-income citizens head-on.

Public Transportation
Udom Emmanuel administration lack of transportation policy in Akwa Ibom state really limited economic growth in the state. Why? Good transportation has the following advantages. First, it moves people and goods to various locations. Second, effective transportation allows people to conduct trade and do business. Third, it provides access to various locations. And fourth, it helps people to move and interact with other people—thereby generating important economic benefit like employment and exchange of ideas.

Udom Emmanuel administration made a big mistake when he by-pass land transportation to invest in airline business. Why? Akwa Ibom State population is about 10 million people—out of which 90% are poor. That means less demand for air traffic and revenue generated from air traffic is less as well. For airline to be profitable, local participation is key. No airline business can be successful without local participation in greater number.

As a result, I am proposing the purchasing of 6200 buses to be distributed to all 31 local governments in the state. Each local government should receive 200 buses in phase 1 program. Citizens should pay a subsidized price as may be determined by the government to board these buses for each trip. Government should also plan and schedule routes in which these buses would go each day and time. This would allow citizens to engage in all sort of trades. And it would also help people living in rural areas of the state to move goods and services to where people want them. Furthermore, road transportation will create jobs opportunities for locals and generate revenues to the government in the form of taxation.

Will Pastor Umo Eno set his personal ego aside and adopt the above proposal i have recommended?

Look, Wike keeps talking about commmissiong projects, and I have not seen a picture of these so called projects. Last year. Wike invited president buhari to Rivers state to Commission some projects. Although president buhari honored Wike invitation, no picture has emerged to show the projects. "President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has raised the alarm over plots by some aggrieved partisans to truncate the transition process, particularly his expected swearing-in on May 29."

Bola Tinubu is not yet president-elect-- a notion that he has won February 25,2023 presidential election. No, he didn't win. According to the 1999 constitution of Nigeria, a candidate for president must (1) win the popular vote , (2) get 25% of votes in not less than 24 of the 36 states and (3) has 25% in the Federal capital, Abuja.

Did any of 18 presidential candidates achieved those 3 criteria?
The answer is overwhelming no.
So, Bola Tinubu stop lying about being president-elect because you are not.

FCT senator-elect, Ireti kinGibe communication skills show that she was not prepared for the job and was shocked to learn she was elected. Why? She didn't know how to make a case for LP. And in fact , I don't think that she has read LP manifesto to know what LP stand for in different issues . However, she was honest to admit that LP didn't have any person for the job-- a reason she was chosen. So my advice to her is she should spend more time to read LP manifesto and learn to how make a case for her party because she rode on the back of LP to victory. It is a good way to pay back to the party.

"More so, they argued that he did not garner the highest number of lawful votes cast at the election, adding that votes credited to the APC candidate amounted to wasted votes by reason of corrupt practices that marred the election."

Wrong way to argue this case! Why? The question about who has the highest votes on February 25,2023 presidential election has been answered: Bola Tinubu .I think it would be difficult for any person or party to prove that Bola Tinubu did not have the highest votes. In my opinion, Bola Tinubu highest vote was a product of a sham process. But, hey, i can't prove it. So, I urge Atiku Abubakar campaign to move away from highest votes arguments. Bola Tinubu got 19% in Abuja instead 25% is a winning argument for Atiku Abubakar at this point. The 1999 constitution of Nigeria clearly stated that among other conditions, a candidate for president of Nigeria must have 25% in Abuja to become the president. Any election petitioner who failed to argue on the issue of criterion will his case thrown out or rejected.

Why not expulsion?
I don't see why any of these guys should be allowed back in the party. Their behavior over the past several months really hurt PDP chances during the election. They stoked fears and traffic hates against the party. They embraced those who wished bad for PDP to fall. Suspension is going to allow them them back in to the party, at some point and that in my opinion weakened the party and threnghten those who hate the party. This punishment is too small for the crime these thugs have committed. So, expell all of them now, ASAP.

No surprise here-- this outcome was expected . In Akwa Ibom state, PDP dominate all the three branches of government--the executive, the legislative and the judiciary. So , the question was not whether PDP would win, but the question has always been what is PDP dominated government will do with this overwhelming power? And as citizens of Akwa Ibom state have seen over the last 19 years of PDP run government in Akwa ibom state, it is a disaster after a disaster. Governor Emmanuel Udom collected the largest oils money allocation each year, but has nothing to show for . The state has the highest unemployment rate in Nigeria. No clean drinking water anywhere in the state. Kidnapping of citizens has skyrocketed. Kids graduate from college and universities can't find work. Educational standard is at the lowest level. Public transportation doesn't exist in the state. Citizens live in the most polluted environment in the world.

100 % true! I will be shocked if PDP doesn't win. In Akwa ibom state, votes cast by citizens have never been used to decide winner and loser. That began in 2007 when Akpabio became governor through fraudulent election. From that time on, Akwa Ibom state governor has been producing under the blessing of a sitting incumbent governor. The problem with this behavior is not about who becomes the governor, but about what that governor does when he gets into the office. As we have seen, Emmanuel Udom leadership is a disaster. Labor party loves to play to the crowd. What does labor party think it would find in INEC documents? All the votes credited to labor party were votes earned as a result of INEC policy of votes allocation . The party didn't win Lagos, Abuja and those other states they got credited for. INEC allocated votes to labor party to make them look competitive and to calm down escalation of violence in southeast. And before election, Bola Tinubu was already told he would be president. How the Nigerian President is Chosen Will Surprise You
By eeetuk

Labor party rush to celebrate February 25, 2023, presidential election victories in some states like Lagos, Abuja, and other states proved that the party leadership is not smart.

Victories in Lagos, Abuja and other states credited to Labor party were allocated to them by INEC officials, and not the result of votes earned from polling units in various parts of Nigeria. And in fact, votes allocation was not limited to Labor party alone. All political parties got votes allocated to them by INEC officials.
Why?

Using my email contacts, I was able to talk to many Nigerians who were at different polling units across Nigeria on election day. In talking to people in Nigeria, my understanding is that INEC officials feared escalation of violence in the South if a Northern Nigerian president, Mohammad Buhari is replaced with another Northern person, Atiku Abubakar after 8 years in power. That prompted officials inside INEC to deny Atiku Abubakar any chance of winning the election.

Mary beth Leonard is US Ambassador to Nigeria. After INEC announced Bola Tinubu as president-elect, she issued a statement that said “2023 presidential election failed to meet the expectation of Nigerian people”. This was followed by EU Chief Observer, Barry Andrews. After personally observing 2023 presidential election in Nigeria, Mr. Andrews issued a statement which said this in part “Elections held on schedule, but lack of transparency and operational failures reduced trust in the process and challenged the right to vote”

Both Ambassador Leonard of US and EU chief observer reactions are important because they confirmed what many Nigerians have observed as well.

Now, 2023 presidential election did take place in some parts of Nigeria, but the results from various polling units were not used to decide the election—prompting some political to sort courts investigation. When you looked at 2015 election which featured President Goodluck Jonathan and Mohammad Buhari, the results obtained from various polling units were never used to decide the election---which went in favor of Mohammad Buhari. The officials in INEC office allocated votes to different candidates for two reasons: first, produced the type of outcome they wanted and second to calm down potential violence in the country. That behavior was repeated in 2019 as well. And here we are, on February 25, 2023, patterns have repeated itself.

So, why did Peter Obi run for President of Nigeria in 2023?
I asked this question because Peter Obi does not know that votes cast in Nigeria election are not used to decide winner and loser by INEC officials. Even Atiku Abubakar and governor Wike of Rivers State don’t know that either. On March 11, 2023 Rivers State governor, Mr. Nyesom Wike issued a statement thanking Peter Obi for derailing Atiku Abubakar presidential run. That by itself is a lie. That is because governor Wike failed to admit Atiku Abubakar/Peter Obi ticket in 2019 was a failure. He did not even mention it. I will never blame Peter Obi presidential run for Atiku failure because we had that ticket tested before—resulting in failure. If Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi had run again in 2023, the result will not be different from 2019 results. Why? Free and fair election does not exist in Nigeria and INEC officials have already decided from the get-go that Atiku Abubakar will not replace President Mohammad Buhari
