Business / Re: First Bank To Shut Operations For 5 Days by eemmyyy: 9:51pm On Jun 05, 2013
Mods please use a clearer and actual caption for this post. Firstbank is not shutting the operations 'entirely' for 5 days as u captioned. They have alternative channels which customers can use and that will be running till 5pm on sunday. Secondly all services will be running till 12 noon on thursday and restored by 8am on monday as they said.
Kindly recaption. It will suffice if you say "Firstbank operations to be disrupted due to banking apllication upgrade"

My few cents pls

Business / Re: First Bank Is The Most Unreliable Bank In Nigeria by eemmyyy: 1:56pm On Dec 08, 2012
... get ur facts clearly b4 u make erroneous judgement and derial others for what u r not sure of. domiciliary account tranfers move thru 3 stages; from ur local bank to an intermediary/correspondent bank then to destination bank. The complexity of this process can primarily cause the delay not to mention if thr is any mistake in acc nos of the sender, intermediary bank or even receiving bank.

May be u wl like whr they wl transfer the money in microsec and the receiver won't get it.

I wouldn't say more but to remind us that financial frauds has beget the processes, check n balances that makes banking a bit lengthy. I would rather bank with safety n steady than speed n crash.

Just my thought

BOT4WHAT?:
@eemmyy, you are welcome back! We hope you too will have some gists for us about what happened at Training School just like my generous Kaydagreat, Anything for the house?
thanks BOT though i didn't leave the thread; I'v bn following but not regularly commenting as usual cos the infos r sometimes volatile and i wl not like to furnish info that r not credible. Kay has painted the true picture and I will rather advise that all hopefuls and 2nd Batchers should prepare their minds for the challenges. My piece of advice;
- Try to hear and be heard.
- Seek first to understand and be understood.
- Contribute and be open-minded to be contributed on.
- Synergized with ur colleagues and try to unite with everyone especially in what u say though make ur opinion
- Relate well with facilitators and FBN academy personnels.
- Make use of all the opportunties and facilities provided whether it raise ur interest or not and finally,
- let every sec counts.
Hope to meet U, BOT and all other Hopefuls

am sorry nerris for sounding ambigous. debit n credit is d part of accounting we were taught that beats my imagination may be cos I come from a medical background. Decoding the handwriting on the wall is acknowledging the perceived challenges and working proactively to surmount it confidently when u come here (fbn academy).

Congrats for the new invitees; atleast u have leverage to join training when batch 2 commences. All you hopefuls, don't let that hope be taking away from u. From my observation, FBN is retiring the old to make room for U and I. Why worried about Job security while u hv not gotten d job. As long as u are qualified academically and u can show ur competency and relevancy when called, u will stay in FBN as long as u wish.

Plss house, training in our offer letter was depicted to last for 4 months. personally, i asked the sub-dean of the academy the about the package of the 4 months and she described what vivi have just said. Unless, they have another location they plan for Batch 2, is unlikely that Batch 2 starts soon as some hopefuls are hoping.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: First Bank Interview? by eemmyyy: 8:53pm On Jun 05, 2012
for the upcoming batch, Is likely that u will be called by the end of the month if the assumption of Batch 1 training is to be 4 weeks intenxive class training and 3 months posting attachments (bear in mind that letter says the training will be 4 4 months, only them know how they planned it). If the training will continue to run in the First academy in Iganmu thruout that 4 months, am afraid to say that batch 2 may be sept. Whichever way or time it comes, keep being hopeful cos it worths it.

Even those that did not receive success sms txt, there is a tendency that u may be invited cos some of my batchmates did not make it through to medicals. And i think for FBN to make these huge financial commitment, they are ready to assimilate as much as they can . So dear pals.... ''let's keep hope alive''
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: First Bank Interview? by eemmyyy: 8:33pm On Jun 05, 2012
@whiz, I hv bn trying to update since an hour ago but network in Iganmu is not funny. I even lost complete net signals in my etis... Anyway, it will stl go...

Finally, we arrived and waited untill 4pm b4 they offer us our letters (to cover 4 d period of 4 months). Those that came outside Lagos was given an accomodation (believe me is more to imagination than i expected... I mean nice). FBN is to take care of feeding ranging from breakfast, breaktea, lunch and dinner. Sporting facilities was also said to be provided ofwhich they made compulsory in the sms invite that everyone must come with a sport wears. Training is to commence 2moro by 8am and expected to end by 6pm.

For those that did medicals and wasn't invited. The reason might span from common technical error from mgt or inconcurrence of documents provided like age or what-a-view.

The problem might also be from medicals cos a colleague i did medical with wasn't invited and when she came to find out why, she was told that the medical reads pregnancy for her. She insisted she aint pregnant unless what happened in Isaiah has happened to her. Finally she was asked to go to HQ to do confirmatory. Am yet to ask her the thereafter. Funny enough, I heard that a guy was mistakenly pened pregnant untill they sort it out...

May u neva walk alone. May u neva lack whateva it will take to succeed in life. It has been graceful following this section and that graciousness has stirred hope whc neva withered even as I proceeded to training.

Am sure this thread will neva closed untill all the potentials batches are being called.

you really agree with the don on this?

what difference does it make? unilag, maulag or malulag?
the university is owned by the federal government...the vice chancellor
was appointed by the federal government. the federal government pays the
salaries of the staff.....are you saying they cannot name their own establishment
any name they so wish?

if you build a house and rent it to tenants, you need their blessings to paint it?
gate it? put a borehole or whatever? i just believe nigerians have their priorities
misplaced. does the change of name devalue the certificate? does it increase the fees
paid by the students? jonathan is indeed a mumu. if i were the president, i would have
deployed a thousand s.w.a.t. teams to make those unruly tools some target practice.
sometimes i don't blame some commenters who is likely to insult than comment objectively and i will gracefully not tow that line cos ur comment demands a train of abuse to ur narrow mindedness.

Can u pls name govt. Factory that he used funding and paying these institutions if not the tax u and I pays?

Why won't tenants in ur analogy know of their landlord's intentions if he paintss and gates with their tenant's fee? Wake up!!!

There is... I have gave substantive reasonings in my former posts for u to believe so. I said that sm didn't receive any msg but was later called on phone. Take it from that FBN is doing this recruitment on merit bases. Many pals i met today are as bewildered as i do when we were given employment forms to fill. *keep hope alive*

BOT4WHAT?:
@ eeemmmmyyyy, Congrats for ur success today, please I want to know if FBN are very strict about the age requirement? Example, if a person was 27 yrs+ some months as at February 2012 whereas FBN requirement is not above 27 as at February 2012, did any issue like this come up today? and what is ur advice based on what u saw at FBN today?
My bro., u got nothing to worry about. Just pray to be invited if u hvn't. Age is not a fraction or decimals. Officially, u can either quote u r 1 or 2, neither 1.5 nor 2.2. A lady i met today in d process of doc/med said she is 27 and am sure that today is not her birthday, i.e she is some months older than 27. There is no place they asked 'age : year and month'. Just expect the best cos we must enter feb. 2013 b4 u can say u r 28.

On what i saw today, FBN is quite organize and has reputable/respectable staffs that know their onion to and fro. I think u will not regret working with them

@ Kennyone, I'm sorry for being to forward, I did not know that some people are doing today. @ eeeeemmmmmyyyy, please did you confirm when we that received congratulatory message but yet to get sms for medicals/documentation are likely to be invited? Are we going to do training together with batch 1?
Is a bit difficult to answer but i will try. If FBN do not send anyother iv for medicals n docs bw now and sat 2nd Jun then know that the subsequent Batches will have their training on a different time with Batch 1 cos the head there said to my hearing that we will start training by next week. Also, from the look of things, they are rushing the docs/med cos when we got to the hosp., the medical attendat said that they have been waiting for us since 8 in the morn and believe me all the hospital staffs focused on us whc made us not to spend upto an hour there. The fact is that they will still invite and u should wait patiently. I think is worth waiting for. *keep hope alive*
