Umahi making this statement to me looks like a mockery.
You can not because of your ambition paint your brother's bad

Thesame Eboyin people umahi said they looked down upon by other igbos where the first people they made the first Gorvernor of east central state in the. Person of Akanu Ibiam,
Thesame Eboyin people produced the Gorvernor of old imo state state in the person of ogbonaya only.

The first minister of education in old eastern region was an Eboyin man

So why is Umahi a sellout at this critical time of igbos emancipation?
Igbos should call him to order

Former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has accused southerners of being insensitive to the killings by bandits in Zamfara and other parts of the north.

“I call on the people of the South to begin to show more sensitivity about what is going on in the North-West and particularly Zamfara State. Because they don’t talk about it enough,” Mr Fani-Kayode said.
The controversial politician made this comment during a visit to Zamfara governor, Bello Matawalle, on Tuesday.

“If what is happening in this state were to happen in any state in the south, I know the outrage they would have expressed throughout the media. But because its in Zamfara, because it is in North-West few talk about it. Its only the people that are hear that feel the pain,” he added.

Peoples Gazette and other media platforms have consistently reported the insecurity in the northern region, recent reportage being how bandits raided several communities in Zamfara, killing over 200 people.

However, barely three days after it was reported that marauders raided the communities in Zamfara, a pro government group, the Coalition of Northern Activists for Peace (CNAP), mobilised youths in protest to counter the narrative that north is insecure and “bleeding.”

Youths mobilised by CNAP and led by Zubairu Mukhtar, were seen on the streets of Kaduna, chanting and holding placards with the inscription “North is not bleeding.”

‘North is bleeding’ is a social media campaign championed by citizens to draw the attention of President Muhammadu Buhari and the international community to the bloodbath and incessant killings perpetrated by bandits and Boko Haram terrorists in the north.

We don't need prophet Isaiah or Ezekiel to tell us this again, As we all seen today Nigeria will no longer last 4 years.
Nigeria will divide into more than 15 parts.
Among these 15 countries, which one will take over the title giant of africa?
well, Yoruba republic and Ijaw Republic will battle for such spot.

4 reasons Ijaw nation will edged out Yoruba nation to claimed that title.... .

2km ijaw kingdom. Na laugh i dey laugh. Ijaw may not have land to build their capital.
They will not have govt house.
Na laugh i dey laugh.
No land to do business.
No where to call their own.
Will be sent packing back to the creeks from Portharcourt.

1..crude oil. This is no doubt will gear Ijaw nation to be the wealthiest black nation...

2..self-made.. Ijaws are good at producing things like boat, flying boat, etc, and self-made weapons like gun-boat, bomb, gun, spear.. this will boost Ijaw economy...

3...sea access... This tripled Ijaw economy success..

4..Biafra landlocked.. the division of nigeria will no doubt make Igbos landlocked.
Biafra landlocked will gives Ijaw nation advantage..
Igbos will need sea access more than any other persons..
They need sea to either laid their crude oil pipes to preferable nation for sell or sea to load their crude oil with vessels to another country, this will make biafra government to strike deal with the Ijaw government for either periodic payment or annual payment for the usage of her Sea spaces......
This will indeed generate lots of incomes for the Ijaw nation...

God really loved the Ijaw people. He blessed them with everything.

People are having troubles with Ijaws from left to right because of the gifts God blessed them with..

Politics / Re: Igbo People Only Care For Political Appointments, Not Development – Ngige by ekesol: 10:04am On Dec 09, 2021
Azeemokoya:
Dr. Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour, has accused his Igbo people of only being interested in political appointments and not the development of their region.

Ngige who made the allegations during an interview with Chaninels Television, said the people of the South-East have not appreciated the infrastructural development of the region being put together by President Muhammadu Buhari as what they prefer is getting political appointments from the federal government.

Ngige added that President Buhari does not understand the mentality of the Igbos and what they want, which is why the people do not appreciate the developmental strides of the president in the South-East.

“President Muhammadu Buhari does not understand the people of the South-East. My people love appointments. They don’t care about development and that is where Mr. President didn’t get them well.

“Mr. President felt that by giving them infrastructure, they will be happy. In the mind of the President, he is saying ‘if I empower you through your fertilizer plant in Ebonyi state, give loans, credits and grants to farmers in Abakaliki, Ebonyi, Imo, that our people will be happy.’ But these people just love appointments.

“They don’t want such projects coming into the region.”

He added that though former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan gave more Igbos political appointments during their tenures, the South-East has remained underdeveloped.

“We had plenty of appointments during Obasanjo and Jonathan. For example, the Enugu airport has been dilapidated over the years.

“We have had four aviation ministers: Kema Chikwe, Fidelia Nnjeze, Osita Chidoka, and Stella Oduah. How come your airport is dilapidated?

Politics / Re: The True Identity Of Bonny/Opobo People Facts Versus Fiction by ekesol: 4:06pm On Nov 28, 2021
9Pluto:
A lot of debates or arguments have been going on mainly between(igbos and ijaws) about the identity of Bonny and Opobo people. So much that lots of indigenes are confused about their own identity. However, I will try to be as neutral as possible while I implore you to be a little objective as we embark on this historical fact check.
Most of the arguments in my opinion has been nothing more than mere conjectures. For instance, ijaw people claim the igbo language spoke in both places is foreign while tying to force inhabitants to start learning an entirely new language different from what they learnt at home.
We have seen both igbos and ijaws trying to make their own interpretations of what they think must have happened and as such both of them twist words to have meanings in their their own language.
For example:
Ndoki-ndoki/aminadokiari
Ibani-ubani/ibani/igbani
Amanyanabo-Ama onye nabo/
It might interest you to know that the title Amanyanabo use by ijaws originated from Bonny. The igbo interpretation means, “The town/community of 2 kings/persons”.
Bonny traditionally had 2 kings as documented by Captain Hugh and he was friends with both men who held him in high esteem.
King Pepple and King Holiday were both kings that reigned in Bonny at the same time.

To understand the reality of who Bonny and Opobo people are I would be rellying on the Memoirs of Captain Hugh Crow of Liverpool(1765-1829) and I implore any true son of Bonny or Opobo to consult this book or any other one written before it to really find out their identity. If you do not much time you can read from chapter 10, however reading the whole book gives a huge insight into slavery. It is important to note that while the author confirmed Eboes/igbos as natives of Bonny, there was no mention or acknowledgement of ijaws. But I am using my discretion to assume that the ijaws were the Brass people as the author asserts that the came from the Brass country which is located North West of Bonny.

Impotant dates:
Captain Hugh Crow of Liverpool(1765-1829)
King Jaja of Opobo 1821-1891
Technically King Jaja was born 12 years after slave trade was abolished.
Slave trade was abolished in 1809 by Sir Wilberforce.
Apart from being a popular slave merchant,Captain Crow(a.k.a Play man) was very popular with Kings and Natives of Bonny. He was so popular that he was invited to crown on of the Kings of Bonny at a time and he was regularly invited to help resolve palaver in the kingdom. He was captain of the last ship that left Bonny with slaves after slavery was abolished.

The authors memoir is insightful for many reasons:
It rendered a vivid account of what trans Atlantic slave trade looks like. In his assertions, slave taking from the west African coast to America were better off than their countrymen. During the period in review, whites were also slaves and most Britons became prisoners of the French.

The author asserts that:
Bonny people are chiefly a mix of Eboe/Igbo and Brass/ijaw people.
He described/mentioned the igbo country in the hinterland and the brass country lying north-west of Bonny.
However, most of the details of daily living amongst the natives was more in tune with igbo lifestyle.
He talked about igbo native doctors know as dibia and the enormous influence they wield in justice and health administration, even the kings respect them.
He talked about the use of elephant during the commemoration of King Pepple's father 10 years after the father's death. He mention the value of elephant tusk.
Contrary to conjectures that Pepple was Europeans attempt at pronouncing Perekule, the author asserts that Bonny people derived joy in been given english names as he himself was responsible for crowning a King who he named after an English prince. He confirms that both King Pepple and King Holiday were igbos.
He described in detail the physic, including completion and character of different tribes eboes, brass, appas, quaws, ottams etc

The author described one Chief Fubara who was an acquaintance of King Pepple. He asserts that Chief Fubara was not an indigene of Bonny but a stranger who migrated from Brass country during a crisis with a false claim that he was a warrior in his native Brass.

The author proved that ijaws were not selling igbo slaves as claimed in some quarters. According to him, everyone/every tribe was sold as slave. He described instances where some igbo chiefs set people up with their young beautiful wife and victims eventually pay a fine or become slaves. He explained the reason why more igbo slaves were sold. They relatable to Europeans than most other tribes.

Captain Hugh is credited with one of the earliest attempt to create an Eboe/igbo dictionary.
The author assets that Opobo is an Igbo name for male children.
He assert that natives are often marked according to their origin and that Bonny natives often have short cupped perpendicular markings on their temple.

He confirmed the existence of Cannibalism, that Andoni was considered a dangerous place to venture, the fact that Calabar people eat dog meat, the influence of Benin empire, that some Brass people were employed to make salt during dry season under the Benin empire amongst other things.

I was planning to post pages from his write up to buttress some points, unfortunately i cannot do so on this forum as it seems to permit posting only few images at a time. But i will post some.

CONCLUSION

Bonny and Opobo people are a mix of Igbo and Ijaw in origin. This document however asserts a more igbo origin or dorminance and this perhaps explains the existence of the igbo language spoken there and the existence of igbo masqurades like nwaotam. Shalom

.

Don't mind 2km ijaw people with their landgrabbing mentality.
Ijaws are later immigrants to the east of Niger from Ghana na coastal areas.
Opobo and Borrny are igbos
Even jaja was not born where igbos inhabited bornny
I see no reason their claim that jaja brought igbos.
Rubbish ijaws always landgrabbing.
Same way they wanted to claim Portharcourt.

It's absolutely no news how in the past few days, there's been increasing fire outbreaks in Rivers State which has left Lives and properties worth millions devastated.

One might wonder the swift response of the state government towards this menace.

However, I paid a courtesy visit to the Rivers State Fire Service, situated at the Mile 1 park, I was bemused as I gradually wabble the environment, it looked like an abandoned project where everyone was displaced to an unknown destination.

There is no emergency hotline like the 112 or 911 which used to work some years ago in the state.

It was even more disturbing when I learnt that only one Fire Truck is currently working amongst all the vehicles parked in the environment. Sometimes, the vehicle break down on the road to the Fire scene.

According to a staff who plead to remain anonymous, said that the his Excellency, Nyeson Wike led administration is yet to provide a new vehicle nor rehabilitate the detestable environment over the past 6 years in office.

He further revealed that very few workers report to work, while no fewer than 200 staffs are working elsewhere whilst receiving salary as civil servants, thereby increasing the workload on the available staffs who turn out for fire incidents.

Politics / Re: Why I Convened 2014 National Confab – Jonathan by ekesol: 9:26am On Nov 17, 2021
treesun:
Former President Goodluck Jonathan says he convened the 2014 National Conference with the intention to create an environment for Nigerians to address issues pushing citizens towards divisive politics and sowing the seeds of discord.

Jonathan stated this in his remarks at the “2nd Igbo Nsukka Zik Annual Merit Award”, in memory of the first Nigerian President, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, on Tuesday in Abuja. The event was organised by Igbo Nsukka United Front.

At the event, Jonathan was honored with “the Zik’s Merit Award”.

He said the inability to manage Nigeria’s diversity was a major stumbling block to the nation’s socio-economic development.

“When I convened the 2014 National Conference as President, my intention was to create an environment that would enable our citizens to dispassionately address those issues that are pushing us towards divisive politics and sowing the seeds of discord in our polity.

“I believe that, in a complex and diverse country like ours, the journey of nationhood and march to greatness is not a sprint but a marathon.

“However, to get it right, we need to do much more to unite our people and integrate our society, in order to build a nation of selfless patriots and citizens, citizens as defined by the Greek philosophers.

“That is the type of country envisioned by our nationalists.

“That is the only way to turn our huge population, rich diversity, and the outstanding resourcefulness of our people into a positive force that would transform and enhance the greatness of our dear country.

“I have no doubt in my mind that God Almighty has deposited in our land and in our citizens, the indefatigable spirit and creativity to unite, work and relate in a harmonious way and make our country great,” Jonathan said

The former president stressed the need for Nigerians to come together and agree on how to strengthen mechanisms and institutions that would promote the harmonization and functionality of their diverse people.

Jonathan said that would ensure equitable distribution of resources and opportunities and inspire harmony, patriotism, justice, peace, and sustainable development.

He expressed his belief that Azikiwe’s ideals, philosophy, and wisdom were very relevant at this particular time, as Nigerians sought to chart a way forward for the country.

He added that Azikiwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Chief Anthony Enahoro, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, and other great nationalists did their best to lift the image of our country.

“The nation owes Nnamdi Azikiwe, the first President of Nigeria who was in office from 1963 to 1966, a debt of gratitude.

“His outstanding role while working with other great nationalists to secure the independence we enjoy today was legendary.

“Nigerians of different generations will continue to remember his extraordinary efforts towards keeping Nigeria one, and his belief in Nigeria’s greatness anchored on equity, justice, and inclusion.”

Jonathan said that as an indigene of Eastern Nigeria, born in Northern Nigeria and established in Western Nigeria, Azikiwe had a cosmopolitan life experience and disposition that prepared him for his role in society.

This, according to him, enabled Azikiwe to envision a progressive Nigeria, whose diverse tribes and tongues would blend to produce a great nation to lead the rest of Africa.

“Whether as a political leader, author, journalist and media owner, Zik was sincere in his consistent rhetoric about freedom and economic emancipation.

“He spent most of his life fighting for the progress of this country and the well-being of her people.

“It is, therefore, a thing of great significance that this group chose this very special day to evoke the nationalist spirit and principles of Azikiwe and restore to our consciousness, those ideals that raised our optimism about a cohesive and peaceful nation.

“A nation that would draw its strength in ethnic tolerance and accommodation and project to the world the beauty of unity in diversity.

“In those early days, Azikiwe never minced words on his fervent belief and optimism in the great potentials of our uniquely diverse society.

“He lived and died for one Nigeria, believing that what binds us is greater and more beneficial than what divides us as a people.

“While most political pundits insist that the potential for Nigeria’s greatness remains potent, our nation has continued, since independence, to grapple with the consequences of poor management of our diversity and differences.

Jonathan commended the group for organising the dialogue on the 117th birthday of Azikiwe and for making efforts to preserve his legacies for national unity, in challenging times.

Jonathan, also appreciated the solidarity and warm reception he always received from the people of the South East of Nigeria.

“The unconditional solidarity South Easterners have always accorded me, reinforces my hope in the fact that we can truly fraternize with one another as citizens of one country, no matter our tribe and tongue.

“It also shows that Ndigbo has accepted me as one of their own, in spite of the fact that I come from the creeks of the Niger Delta.

“When my grandmother named me Azikiwe, she probably had no inkling of the meaning of the name, other than the fact that she was enamored with the achievements of the great nationalist, the Great Zik of Africa.”

“I have come to understand that the name symbolizes peace, understanding, greatness, and solidarity in unity,” Jonathan added.

I have this girl who is the only one I love, but she said she can never attend catholic church.

I told her it's not an issue - that as my wife, she's free to attend any church she likes, but she insisted our family would have to attend the same church.

She won't marry me if i stick to my Catholic faith. Please advise me, she's the only one I love, and I can't start over anymore.

Are u marrying her or U re marrying her . Bro leave that girl alone U will regret it.
Tommorrow she will tell U , Ur mother is a winch according to her pastor.
Possibly look in that your Catholic church for a wife.
Love is an illusion.

Politics / Re: The Mother Of All Sit At Home begins Now!! - Mazi Simon Ekpa by ekesol: 6:51pm On Nov 05, 2021
Ladumaa:
....He made it clear that IPOB are made up of over 90% of Anambra electorates and as such, must not allow this golden opportunity to slip them bye..

According to him, IPOB can't call off sit at home on the eve of elections citing their meeting with Igbo elders and governors, without first telling the people who they are going to be projecting as their Candidate.. Such decision amounts to a waste of votes, time and resources as the entire votes would be split and the less preferred candidate will likely emerge...

He therefore called on all Biafrans to ensure that the elections in Anambra tomorrow is grounded and shifted so as to give them more time to engage with the people if they are to adopt the political solution being proffered by the SE governors and Igbo Elders....

Genk Striker, Ike Dominique Ugbo has dumped the Super Eagles of Nigeria for the Canada men's national soccer team.

The 23-year-old was born in Lewisham, Greater London, and moved to Canada with his family when he was four or five. He played youth soccer with Brampton East SC and Woodbridge Strikers, winning an international U10 tournament at Disney in 2008 with the latter.

Upon his return to the UK, he joined the Chelsea Academy at under-10 level where he won the UEFA Youth League with Chelsea in 2014–15 and 2015–16.

In a 2020 interview with Voettbal Sports Magazine, Ugbo pledged his international allegiance to Nigeria

“I chose Nigeria and right now, we're getting the papers in order,” he said.

“The chance of playing at the FIFA World Cup is part of it. I think I have more chances with Nigeria than with England.

“Also, I grew up with images of the [Nigeria] national team and always followed their strikers, especially the guys who came to England."

Born to a Nigerian father, the 23-year-old represented England at Under-17 and Under-20 levels, and was one of eight (cool players cleared by FIFA in January this year to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
