Sports / Re: Do You See Nigeria Winning The World Cup? by eleffizi: 11:49am On Nov 17, 2013
Can Nigeria win the World Cup?

IMO, Yes, but the difficulties ahead are high. Here are the reasons:

1. They have to play many friendlies to understand the strengths of top-quality teams. This will enable the players to understand what they are up against.
2. Keshi has a lot of understudying, and strategising to do, regarding potential opponents he will meet in the World Cup.
Big teams like Spain, Argentina,Germany, Brazil, Holland, Italy, and England will not fall by the way side just like that.
You have to study their playing pattern, understand their biggest and most dangerous players, understand their weaknesses
which may not be easily discernible, understand the type of game you have to play to accentuate their weaknesses so as to beat them.
3. Can the NFF remain faithfully supportive to the team concerning regular bonuses?
This is a big issue because money issues are serious among men.
4. Can our attackers capitalise on small mistakes to score goals? Beyond the group stages of the World Cup, only GOALS matter. So the SE has to sharpen skills concerning taking set-pieces(freekicks, throw-ins, corner kicks and penalties), taking advantage of slippery defending to score goals.
5. The SE have to rely on Divine Providence to push events in their favour. That can push them as far as the WC final if they do their homework VERY well.

However, I repeat : THE STAKES ARE HIGH! I know what the Black Stars went through in SA 2010 to get to the q-final. Even then it was thwarted by a corrupt,show-stopping foul from Suarez. Unfortunately the Black Stars could not capitalise on it.
Politics / Re: So Is The Protest A Success Or A Failure? by eleffizi: 10:28pm On Jan 09, 2012
For those that said the protest was a failure, please look at the response on the URL below to see the reaction of Nigerians from all parts of the country to know if it REALLY was a failure.

http://lindaikeji..com/2012/01/photos-occupynigeria-protesters-march.html#more

There will always be Nigerians who do not support actions like this, that is normal. We cannot all think the same way.

But from what I am seeing, Nigerians cannot cope with this fuel subsidy removal, and they are determined to protest relentlessly until the policy is reversed.
Family / Re: Why Do Men Cheat ( Strictry For Females) by eleffizi: 10:50am On Jun 25, 2011
I am a man in my early thirties and I think I have the right to express my opinion.

Men cheat because of their innate greed. They are not satisfied with one woman. I have heard men say that having sex with many women is very sweet. Now what is that supposed to mean ? That women are sex objects ? It matters to note here that the same desire that makes men to have many houses and cars is the same desire that may make men have many wives or one wife and many mistresses.

Men cheat because of uncontrollable lust. I cannot say that I have not been a victim of lust in the past. But I believe that GOD has given us the power to overcome the temptation of lust so that we can make lust to lose its ability to energise us enough to transform out lustful thoughts into ACTION. I have lived with boys who have stable girlfriends, and yet still quietly patronise other women for one-night stands. I am about to get married, and throughout my long-distance relationship with my fiancee, I have never thought of cheating on her - lustfulness notwithstanding. Lust will never master me, because my mind is the temple of GOD.

Men cheat because of a vain ego. They think that the number of women you sleep with adds more respect to you as a man among your male peers. I am sorry to say this ideology is fed by the fact that we are in a male-dominated world. But if the truth must be said, this smacks of sexual recklessness and irresponsibility.

Men fail to realise that all women have the same physical make-up. The sexual intercourse you will have with Tina will not differ from the one you will have with Angela. It only endangers your health because you are not going to test Angela for STIs before you jump in. If your wife is not good in bed, why not teach her ? If you have a problem with her, why not settle it amicably ?
Best of all, ensure that your woman is someone whose weaknesses you can permanently tolerate before you marry her, or don't marry and make every woman you meet know your stand, so that they know what you stand for.

I have thought about this question for many years. This is my own school of thought on why men cheat.
Travel / Re: Is The Uk Worth Staying In Anymore Or Should One Consider Moving Back To Nigeria by eleffizi: 4:05pm On Jun 24, 2011
Delzico,

My own suggestion is that you should find out if you can get a job where you will earn at least as much as you are earning now. I also want you to consider accomodation, infrastructural, and security issues for you and your family before relocating to Nigeria. If you can make your little heaven here in Nigeria without stress and you have gotten a high-paying job in Nigeria, then feel free to come back, otherwise please dump the idea. Relocating to Nigeria without research and thinking can set you many years backwards, and even make you worse off than you are presently.

I also want you to be grateful to GOD for your present situation. Many desperate Nigerians will give an arm to get to where you are currently.

I hope my advice helps.
Religion / Re: How Many Here Have Read The Bible From Cover To Cover. by eleffizi: 5:02pm On May 25, 2011
Dear Readers,

I read the bible from cover to cover six times in six years - 2005, 2006,2007, 2008, 2009, 2010. It has developed my knowledge of Christianity as an individual. It was like a holy pilgrimmage that gave me divine enlightenment, and I was able to understand the ideology of Christ and how he wants us to live so as to glorify Him. My character was strengthened. I have found favour before more people than before. I have also experienced accelerated advancement in my life, and I have resolved to live for Jesus Christ, serve him all my life, and die as a Christian full of desire for GOD. I now live and work in U.K. where a lot of indigenes there do not believe in GOD, like we do in Africa, but my faith has been solidified by six years of reading the Word of GOD.

The law of the LORD is perfect,
   refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy,
   making wise the simple.
The precepts of the LORD are right,
   giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the LORD are radiant,
   giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the LORD is pure,
   enduring forever.
The decrees of the LORD are firm,
and all of them are righteous.

They are more precious than gold,
   than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
   than honey from the honeycomb.
By them your servant is warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.

Psalm 19:7-11

I believe that it is impossible for anyone who reads the Holy Bible faithfully and expectantly from cover to cover more than once, not to be blessed by GOD!
Jesus bless you all!
Politics / Re: Lagos State Governorship Debate On Stv by eleffizi: 10:33am On Mar 29, 2011
One thing I liked about the Lagos State Governorship was that all the aspirants came including Fashola. That singular act added value to the debate. That is why I will always respect Fashola and the other aspirants till tommorrow. They call came, spoke about their plans, their vision for Lagos State, and their greivances. NOBODY SHUNNED THE DEBATE WITH A LAME EXCUSE FOR BEING BUSY !
All of them were mature enough to understand that attending the debate was an integral part of the campaign they were all engaging in.

That is why I value the debate so much!

Kudos to all the participants!
Politics / Re: Jonathan, Nwodo And Governors Celebrate Nigeria At 50 In London by eleffizi: 2:48pm On Jun 29, 2010
It is an obvious shame to realise that after 50 years of existence, Nigeria has not had 1 year of uninterrupted power supply, or 85 percent gainful employment for its educated citizens, and yet the government wants to spend 10 billion naira on a trivial anniversary celebration. Nigerians are their own enemies, until we vehemently resist the greedy selfish mentality that brings forth corruption in our land, we might continue like this for the next 50 years without any significant breakthrough relative to other African nations. This is not a curse!

Heaven helps those who do their part, and avoid paying lip service and fearlessly face the truth!
Sports / Re: Government To Disband Eagles by eleffizi: 1:38pm On Jun 24, 2010
If I were the Minister of Sports , this is what I would do:

1. Notify FIFA of the problems that NFF has caused Nigerian football(so that they will support my next decision), and seek the support of FIFA and the Presidency to
disband the NFF first, and re-select a new group of young, passionate, enterprising soccer enthusiasts from ex-professional players, to marketers, to analysts
and astute soccer administrators from across Nigeria that are ready to make NFF a highly organised and credible organisation, and a strong brand in the corporate
sector, so that many companies will be fighting one another to sponsor the new Super Eagles in the nearest future.

2. Disband the Super Eagles, and retain only 3 players among them(Enyeama, Haruna, and Osaze)

3. Sack Lagerback( a lot of Nairalanders may not like this, but for somebody to have played a clueless Etuhu for 3 matches without trying Ideye, it shows lack of
     initiative)

4. Give Samson Siasia a five year contract as Super Eagles coach, and ask him to select a fresh team of young players from the local league and foreign players who
have never played for the national team before, and sponsor his attendance of coaching courses with 5 of the best coaches in the world. The new Super Eagles will
play at least 6 international firendlies annually, to master their cohesiveness and understand one another.

For me, this is a good way forward for the team.
Religion / Re: My Boyfriend Is An Atheist. I Love Him But My Family And Friends Hate Him. Help by eleffizi: 8:04am On Apr 12, 2010
Dear Sia,

I understand that you love your boyfriend very much , but I also want to know whether you love Jesus so much.If you think He deserves to be first in your life, then give Him His due place, even in your relationship. As for him, He really loves you(John 3:16. John 14: 14). I want you to understand that atheism is one of the greatest weapons among the "-isms"among the dreadful ones like fundamentalism, racism, satanism, tribalism, and many others) that the devil is using to oppress the world today. It is am ominous sign of rebellion towards the Supreme Being, especially when you realise that this Man and this world was too wonderfully created to have existed on its own(Big Bang whatever).

Personally, I have seen and experienced the wonders and love of God in my life enough to stay with him, no matter what.

If you really love God and pray to him about it, He will show you the way out. He is not a non-living thing, neither is he a man that he should lie.
He will give you an alternative, if the need arises. But I must let you know that He has also given you the wisdom to govern our own affairs. For your peculiar situation, please read the following verses about companionship. (Proverbs 13:20, 1 Corinthians 15:33, 2 Samuel 25, the whole of Ecclesiates), and meditate on it.

Remember this: Until GOD continues to make sense in your life, you will never make sense out of life throughout your period of living

Politics / Re: Fg Assures Of Radical Improvement In Power Supply by eleffizi: 12:42am On Apr 10, 2010
It is a shame to realise that with the vast amount of profit that Nigerians make from crude oil as the seventh largest producer of oil in the world, we are still talking about privatisation. It only shows that our cardinal challenge is corruption ,which prevents a lot of Nigerian rulers from thinking constructively on about the judicious spending of public funds for qualitative social amenities, and the careful selection of honest experts who will deliver.

Be that as it may, if Government wants to resort to any other means they think will resolve the issue of inefficient and insufficient power supply, they should stop talking and start doing without any noise or horn-blowing.

Like wise men say, Never let your talking do the action, let your action do the talking!
Politics / Re: Why Babangida’s 2011 Aspiration May Fail by eleffizi: 8:40pm On Apr 09, 2010
While I agree that the tooth-gaped retired general has a right to contest, it is noteworthy to realise that he has immensely betrayed the trust of Nigerians. His regime was responsible for institutionalising corruption on amazing nation-wide scale that has torn into irreconciliable shreds, the moral fabric of our beloved country Nigeria. As a result, the average Nigerian has lot his sense of patriotism, and his belief in cultivating strength of character and diligence. That is why new generation politicians are just as morally bankrupt, if not worse. The Okigbo Report has to be analysed and acted upon to close the chapter of his reign. As it is now, it is a completed house without a roof.

In human relationships world wide, an offence bordering betrayal of trust is one of the most serious, and that is the centre of "General Maradona" has committed. I doubt if Nigerians can forget him and OBJ, his cohort in democratic bastardization (although the latter is better than him in some respects).

Nigerians have to understand that they deserve whatever kind of leader that gets into office, so it is the responsibility of all 150 million Nigerians to relentlessly ensure that they get their choice leaders in power, rather than relapse into helpless apathy.

Sometimes when I think of the state of my beloved country, I begin to have a slight headache, because I am scared of the fact that Nigeria may continue this circular journey for the next 100 years with devious "viruses" like General Maradona being recycled into power year in year out.

But I believe that GOD can save Nigeria.

GOD help Nigeria.
