Like scholar mentioned. The way you put together your answer wasn’t right.

There has to be a solid reason why an extended family will want to sponsor your education, I’ll suggest reading up transcripts of those who got approved using extended families as sponsors so you’re better prepared on your next attempt.

All the best.

Okay thank you

ignoring the post study plan. Funding is most likely denial factor here. You have a deficit of $22k, white people don't believe anyone outside your direct parents maybe to some extent sibling will cough out that amount of money for an extended family member. Remember you are going for undergrad so you will be spending that four times if no other funding comes in subsequent years. That is a lot of money for an Aunt to be paying when she will have her immediate family to cater to. Except you are able to explain maybe you lost your parents and she has been the one taking care of you all these years. Going back with same aunt sponsoring and same deficit will most likely have same outcome. If your partners are alive, using your dad or mum as sponsors is better, your aunt can pay the fees in reality but you use them for the interview process.

She’s not married and she doesn’t have kids. And her bank statement is solid. Well I’ll see what I can change. Maybe I should have explained more about that.

You see that. “I’ll be returning to my aunts company and work my way up” lol. The agent that gave you that format is a clown.

The denial is justified. I can tell you’re not a genuine student just by that response lol. It’s a cliche.

But I am a genuine student. It’s my actual plan—I do not plan on staying in the US after my studies. Should I have lied and said something else? Everyone always says to be truthful during the interview, but now you're saying the truth is cliché. What are we meant to do now?

Hello,

Please be aware that (as a F-1 visa applicant) before you even step into the cubicle to talk to the VO, you are already presumed to be an "intending immigrant" and the onus lies on you to convince the VO through your answers that you are not.

Any statement from you that gives off an idea of a pathway to immigration is not going to do you any good during the interview.

Moreover, your program might require you to partake in CPT (which is an internship during your program) anyways.

Please, do not bring up an "internship" if and when asked what you will be doing after you complete your studies.

All the best with your interview.

Okay thank you

Hello everyone.
I’m preparing for my interview, and I want to know the embassy’s stance on internships, especially paid ones. Is it okay to say that you’d like to get an internship or not?

You will retrieve the old DS-160 by entering the application ID and click retrieve application on the DS-160 portal. You will enter the security questions as usual then it will tell you that the DS-160 application has already been submitted if you want to modify it, go ahead and accept then you will be given a new application ID, write it down. The new DS160 will be populated with information from the old one, you can go ahead to edit and fill as you wish. When you submit, remember to go update your CGI portal with the new application ID and print before going for interview.

Thank you 🙏

Hello everyone.

Is it possible to make changes to your DS-160 application after submitting it? I have already completed all the remaining steps and gotten my interview date, but I realized I needed to correct something. If not, will creating a new one mean I have to pay the MRV fee again?

A quick question please :

Did you date and sign your I-20 before submitting for the Emergency Request?

Yes I did

Hello,

Unfortunately, Emergency Request can only be used once per MRV fee payment, which implies that you can no longer use the EA option for your current application.

Keep checking the platform for closer dates. Otherwise, you'd have to defer your admission to the next semester. Lagos is still your best option with 3.5 months interview wait time in contrast to Abuja of about 6 months.

Okay thank you

Hello everyone
Please I just applied for an emergency visa appointment last night at the Lagos embassy and I was denied today.
My start date is 15th of August and I sent all the necessary documents but I was still denied. Would it be possible for me to apply again or is there something else I can do?

You have a full tuition scholarship and your family friend is there to sponsor your outstanding (boarding, books, and feeding). This should give you the confidence you need to go get your visa. A simple question is how do you address him? If anyone ask about your sponsor, just state Mr X or Uncle X depending on how you call him and explain the relationship and how he has always believed in you and promised to sponsor you through school.

I would rather you focus on why the school, what your long term plans are, how the program will help you achieve that amongst others.

Congratulations in advance and I hope to read your success story.

Thank you 🙏

They do not demand for proof of relationship. Be upfront and tell them when asked who is your sponsor? Simply say,

I do have a full tuition scholarship that covers 99% of my tuition and my uncle would be covering the deficit.

They might ask you, why is your uncle sponsoring you. I mean they’ll want to know why your mum or dad isn’t.

You can go ahead and tell them that he is your uncle and your God father who have been in your life since primary and has promised to take care of my tertiary education.

Thank you 🙏

Hi.
I am not an agent but I came here because of bad experience we got from agents. So, Mr OyotunjiUSA tot us how to click profiles and expose trolls .
I just did same on your profile and discovered dat you keep asking dis kind of question which Mr OyotunjiUSA have answered. aunty Debbieeeeeeee u have contradicted ursef. Ur deficit is $22,000 n at the end of your trollin u received full tuition scholarships 🤣

Aunty Debbieeeeeeee wat do u want to gain In setting Mr OyotunjiUSA up?

Aunty Debbie?

Yes, I got a full tuition scholarship, but that’s different from a full ride. I still need to pay for living expenses and other miscellaneous fees.

I’m not asking the same questions repeatedly; I just want to be very sure so I don’t make mistakes in my application process. I’ve mentioned that I’m 16 and simply trying to avoid errors, yet you’re criticizing me? Isn’t it embarrassing for an adult to behave like this? Because of the constant arguments on this thread, I can’t get the information I need—all I see are insults. People genuinely seeking information can’t find anything because adults here are acting like children. Frankly, it’s embarrassing.

If anyone can answer my question, it would be very helpful. The deadline for submitting my documents to get my I-20 is fast approaching.

Thank you.

Hello everyone,
A non-family member is sponsoring me for my education. The deficit is about $22,000, and he has double that amount in his account. However, I'm concerned they might require more proof of my relationship with him. I'm 16 years old and pursuing my BSc. My sponsor is a family friend whom I've known for years. He promised that if I graduated from secondary school with good results and received any type of scholarship, he would cover the remaining expenses. Fortunately, I received a full tuition scholarship.
Please I really need advice on this 🙏

Hello everyone 🙏

Please is possible for a family friend to sponsor my deficit? There isn’t enough time to pay it into a family’s account, and a non relative wants to sponsor me. What are my chances of getting the visa?

Hey 🤠

1. Yes if the company has the financial capability. Its even one of the best home-ties .

2. To prove it, you will state your company as your sponsor and this should reflects in your Form I -20 and your DS 160 data input . You also must attend your interview by going along with your company financial statement and especially Employment Bond Agreement .

Best Wishes 🙏

Okay thank you🙏

Hey 🤠

1. It's like you are telling the consular that your next of kin is your best friend because you are single. The next question from anyone would be don't you have family ?

2. If your friend is a popular or well known personality like Dangote , Alakija, Ejindu, Okoli etc you can use him or her. But tactically , it's still not too reasonable .

3. Your friend can liase with your sister and give out his or her own financial quotas to your sister while your sister still remain your sole sponsor . Blood is ticker than water . Tell your friend that embassy usually doubts the authenticity of non related individuals spending millions of naira on your overseas education without any financial or future gain.

Best Wishes 🙏

Okay thank you

Hey 🤠

1. Your blood or extended family is better than a family friend . There is no relevance in family friend . Friend is friend , we can just say your old time close friend .

2. Therefore. Your aunt in the USA is in the best position to stand as your sponsor . Don't use combination. Use your aunt.

Best Wishes 🙏

Okay thank you, but what if the friend is more financially capable than the aunt?

Some schools don't need WES evaluation.
Also, I will encourage you to apply early enough to get what you seek as funding is very limited.
Start preparing for TOEFL and SAT and ensure you have a high score.

For now, focus on TOEFL and SAT and leave the rest pending when you have taken the exams.

See you at the top!

Shalom!!!

Thank you 🙏

For the WES evaluation, You will create an account with WES and then input your academic details, you will select WES ICAP evaluation and also choose US academicevaluation .After that you will need to pay the WES fee of about 217 dollars or so you can check on the website to confirm. This is the trick i used when i was in Nigeria, i dont have the money to pay yet, so i created the account ,fill in my academicdetails (my two results) in your case it will be WAEC or high school.so i thenproceed to use western union as a means of payment (which i don't have the money ) I clicked on the western union thing and I was able to generate an ID .It is this ID i sent to my schools in Nigeria that they use to sent my result to WES.
What I am saying is that you need to generateWES ID which you will take to your high school so they can send your result to WES .

For the third question, i don't know the session you are applying for. If it's fall i will suggest your start your application before march because most schools with funding would have rolled out admissions and funding before you even finish applying .you might be lucky to get admitted but funding might be difficult because you are applying late .If your application is for spring, you are good to go but funding opportunities in spring is limited.
For the third question, the cost of your tuition will determine the amount that you need to present to get your I20. If your aunty will be sponsoring be ready to prove to the VO why you aunty will be spending such a huge amount of money on you when you parents are alive. I hope this helps and if you need any information. Quote me

Thank you 🙏
So it is my school what will mail the physical copy of both my waec and highschool transcript to Wes?
Or it is electronically?
What if I’m not able to get in contact with my school?

Hello everyone

I’ve been reading through this thread and I haven’t found exactly what I’m looking for, so I decided to ask directly. I already have a list of schools I am planning on applying to through the common app and common black app.
I’m going for an undergraduate degree.
I have done my research about the process but I have a few questions

1. How exactly do I go about sending my WAEC results and high-school transcript to WES? I have seen different answers and I’m not sure which is the right one.
2. I am hoping to get a full scholarship or at least 50% scholarship, my GPA and WAEC scores are high enough, and if I don’t get it my aunt will be sponsoring me. I wanted to know how exactly the bank statement is supposed to be shown, I know for a UK visa it has to be in your account for a minimum of 29days but I’m not so sure how it’s supposed to be for the USA. I’ll also like to know how much is supposed to be in the account exactly; for example if the total fees for my schooling process is 50k dollars how much is the minimum that should be in the bank statement?
3. Is March too late to submit school applications and get a scholarship? Due to personal reasons I wasn’t able to take the SATs and TOEFL examination last year and will be taking them March this year. The schools I am applying to have a later application deadline but I want to be sure there will be enough time between getting admission and starting the visa process.

Thank you

Please anyone 🙏 I really need some assistance on this
