If only all these people rejoicing are aware of who is really in charge of oil bunkering and pipeline vandalism, then they would rather be sober at this turn of events. For your information, no serious bunkering happens without knowledge and approval from the COs and their men. They are all in it together so what difference will this make? 1 Like |

misterchris: What are you trying to defend? Buhari ordered Keyamo to step down from prosecution, then court dismisses the case as Sylva has repented since he brought in a lot of money to bring Buhari into power and got initial reward as Inauguration Planning Coordinator. What a case of witch cry for night, pikin die for morning. Please tell me who kill the pikin? Anti corruption indeed...Too bad we are going through the exact same motion again. Exact motion as when Yaradua started hounding Ribadu and subsequently removed him from EFCC and next thing a court acquits Ibori of all charges and infact even issues a perpetual injunction stopping any form of investigation or prosecution for corruption. His freedom was his benefit for bringing a significant part of the money to sponsor YARADUA'S election. If not for UK, Ibori was already free and declared innocent. Once again, we are going through same route after all the noise of fighting corruption...Change has come indeed. 5 Likes |

Water is gradually finding its level. A few weeks ago during the campaign, all efforts were made to fill the campaign venues with all and sundry especially the jobless youths, now inauguration is a government affair and not a party convention. So who is the government for? Too bad the broom wielding, change shouting 'talakawas' have done their job and the politicians are just about to start their own. The poor remains where they are till another 4 years. 2 Likes |

These politicians just know how to join forces to pursue a common interest. Just how many weeks ago they were in different camps acting like they would die for their Presidential candidate. Now they are realigning to join forces where they think it could become an advantage especially when it comes to FG vs State Governors. Interest is the only permanent thing really. Unfortunately, so many ill-informed folks have lost their lives defending these same turncoats. Amazing!!! |
Culture / Re: Amazing Pictures From Nigeria's Past by Eluala(m): 7:35pm On May 14, 2015 |
Asuokaa: Jaja was an Igbo boy from a place called Amaigbo in the present day Imo State. Back then there was a constant trading relationship between Igbos from the hinterland and the Ijaws, Ibibios, Ibanis, Efiks etc towards the coast. He was sold as a slave at age 9 to Ibani buyers and he ended up working his way up the social ladder by first paying for his own freedom and subsequently became so powerful as to dominate even the people that bought him. As the conflict increased, he decided to leave Ibani (Bonny) and moved away to occupy the place called Opobo today. Of course he moved with his household, slaves and army to establish Opobo. So judge for yourself if he is still Igbo or Ijaw. |

Recent data indicates that under GEJ, the same ranking has improved to 37th or so. Madam due process and empirical evidence indeed. Hypocrisy at its height. 11 Likes 4 Shares |

Politics / Re: Ojukwu Granting A Press Conference- Picture by Eluala(m): 5:26pm On Apr 21, 2015 |
edwife: This is classic. It was this ingenuity that sustained the people for that long. Otherwise how do you explain the fact that without much of logistics support, they managed to engage the Nigerian military, heavily supported in equipment, funding and personnel by the world powers of USA, BRITAIN, USSR, and even EGYPT for so long yet they struggled to take out the so called 'rag tag' army. My conclusion; Either the NIGERIANS with all these external support were either completely incompetent or the BIAFRANS were supremely intelligent and could improvise and invent devices for containing the Nigerians using local technology and sheer determination and application of natural superior brain power. It is amazing that despite the fact that for close to 3 years, young men had to fight in the battle field or work in the technological incubation centers while young women supported from home and all schools were shut due to the crises. 45 years after the war these same people/zone have re surged from the ashes to become the people/zone with the highest per capita income in Nigeria according FBS, highest educational attainment as shown by 10 year data from WAEC, NECO and JAMB and technologically most advanced in Nigeria. It is instructive to note that all these have been achieved despite minimal access to political power at the Federal level. Do I see a natural correction taking place already considering that prior to the unfortunate incidents of 1966, the Igbo man unarguably dominated virtually every sector of our National life that mattered. That's a fact and if you ask your parents, they will tell you if they are honest. That's what it takes to survive adversity. It is in Igbo land that most villages through various town development and age grade unions contributed money to provide essential infrastructure in their communities like markets, roads, health centers, schools, pipe borne water, electricity, scholarships, public libraries, of course churches and civic centers etc. This practice has been on since the early 1900s (Read Arrow of God from Chinua Achebe). So in effect, while some states in Nigeria can only boast of the state capital as urban center, most towns/communities in Igbo land already have the things that make a place 'township' and they were self provided. We don't wait for government handouts. We create wealth with sheer resilience and ingenuity. It is important to recognize that in a federation, respect among each unit must be mutual and nobody should be blackmailed into losing their very essence and DNA. Thank God Nigeria is our project now and we shall continue to build a greater Nigeria reaching for that innermost will and drive to succeed, for which we are noted and eternally grateful to God for. We have to acknowledge our relative strengths and utilize that to the advantage of all. Hating and tribal bashing will not help us and we cannot be individually better than the whole. 18 Likes 5 Shares |

I became worried when I noticed that for whatever reason, PDP changed their slogan from "POWER TO THE PEOPLE'' to ''POWER''. So they practically became too arrogant and carefree that they didn't think power still remained with the people. What a lesson for generations to come. Meanwhile, I'm still as sympathetic to PDP as I am to ARSENAL. Real men stay whether good or bad. In fact, I am finalizing arrangements to pick my party card now that unwanted elements are exiting. We shall rebuild a really strong party and give the power back to the real owners - the people. 3 Likes |

Politics / Re: Lagos Gubernatorial Elections Collation Updates by Eluala(m): 4:17pm On Apr 12, 2015 |
iOmoge: Please don't forget that the contest is between 2 Yorba brothers. The fact that one won the other lost irrespective of the political alignments and persuasion prior to the election is no reason to gloat and turn your brother into an outcast. Irrespective of who did what, Jimi is still your brother and a bona fide Lagosian. I believe the sophistication Yoruba people are purportedly known for is in the degree to which they tolerate each other despite political, ideological and religious persuasion. There in lies the cardinal point that has contributed immensely in what achievements you have made as a people. This is the only part of Nigeria today where in a family you could have Christians, Muslims and traditional worshipers yet all coexist happily. I don't think this should be about Igbo votes being over-rated or not, it should rather be seen in the context of a key ideal for modern day living- the freedom to choose and if the greater majority if Igbo people chose to align with Jimi, so be it. I don't think it is right for anyone to force another person to make a choice. That to me will be going against what makes Yoruba people special. They usually recognize the right of the individual to choose for himself. I think that quality should not be thrown away just yet on the platter of political gains. Today it is Ambode, what happens if tomorrow Jimi Agate is the man to make Yoruba nation proud? 3 Likes |
Family / Re: My 2 Months Old Marriage Is Crashing - HELP ME by Eluala(m): 6:05am On Apr 10, 2015 |
You probably used the words 'I so much love her' for the umpteenth time. I believe there lies the problem. Your wife is not emotionally stable and mature and she has successfully blackmailed you emotionally to the point of domination. She knows what buttons to press and there you go working to please her like a robot while she enjoys herself. You have been rewarding this behavior by omission and commission. That's marriage is recommended only for mature people especially emotion and psychological maturity. She is dominating your psyche. She is marking and protecting her territory of which you are a part. You have failed to assert yourself and the modus operandi for your relationship and that's why she is filling the gap. There is a role reversal going on. You have been too soft or love struck to see and play your role as the man of the house and now she is assuming that role. It's like spoiling a child and not being firm to punish bad behavior and expect that by some miracle when the child grows, she/he will suddenly become a good adult. My advice for you is to use your head more than your heart. Take control of the situation. Tell her in very clear terms that in a marriage, there is a head and there is an assistant. You are the head and she is the vice. She should let you take care if her and she should take care of you. At the moment she is trying to usurp your place instead of doing well in her place. You should not tolerate any of the nonsense. You have tolerated enough. Tell her that she is forgiven unconditionally for previous sins but she should go and sin no more. Pray for her in your quiet time. Institute a family devotion on a regular basis. Take the lead in sharing scripture and praying for her and the family. Be her pastor in the home and get involved in her affairs outside the home. For instance, spend time with her to know about her day at work and on your own study a little about her work so you can meaningfully contribute helpful ideas to her. Be her hero/superstar. Be the strong go to man, who needs for all her problems to be solved. It does appear to me that for now, you place too much demand on her to meet your emotional needs. You seem to me like you overwhelm her with your need for emotional affirmation - more like a child in need of attention and seeking to be pampered. She sees you like couch potatoes. It's time to be the man and temper some of this your 'I so much love you' stuff. You can reach me privately if you wish for more man to man talk. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Where are all those people shouting change? This is just the beginning of what is to come in this country. These idiots have further been emboldened by the fact 'their brother' is now the president. It will only get worse. My simple advise to any reasonable Southerner is to make a permanent home for yourself in the South or NC states or arm yourselves with high caliber weapons and brace up for continuous war. They will only get worse. That is the DNA of ISLAM - VIOLENCE. As far as I am concerned, turning the other cheek is not when these vampires are involved. Nothing can be more savage than a rampaging Islamic mob ostensibly drunk with hate and driven by sheer wickedness and desire to do nothing but kill what they cannot make. The only solution to these idiots is simple - fire for fire. High caliber assault rifles and coordinated defense/offense maneuvers. They are cowards and will only fear the thing they most readily give others - DEATH by the bullet. IDIOTS. 7 Likes |

These guys were so dominant in Africa and so good that everyone was interested in watching them play. Even my 4 year old younger sister then knew all the 23 players by their jersey numbers and their names. Looking back now I can only regret how we have been plagued by the same thing over and over again - bad leadership. If not for bad leadership we would have continued to build on the success of that team and only God knows where we would have been today as a nation. That team presented the best we could offer. Notice there was no clamor for Federal character because they represented Nigeria (inspite of the fact that most of them originated from the Southern and middle belt part of the country)and only the best was good enough. Unfortunately, we missed the opportunity just like we have missed other golden opportunities like oil boom of early 70s. When are we going to rise and keep moving instead of one step forward, 20 steps backward. NB: I'm not supporting any political persuasion. |
