A woman identified as Rutendo Nhemachena has reportedly died during a baptism being conducted at Manyame river in Zimbabwe.

Nhemachena, 26, is said to have been possessed by a mermaid spirit before becoming aggressive and jumping into the river where Prophet Isaac Manyemba was baptizing men and women with his aide Mai Manyika also known as Madzimai Jennifer.

Witnesses present at the time of the incident, believed that she had been grabbed by a mermaid and didn’t try to rescue her.
Prophet Manyemba confirmed the tragic event by saying Nhemachena overpowered him and seemed like she was possessed by a mermaid spirit.
She said the late Rutendo Nhemachena was going to be buried in Chihota after a post mortem

Nigerian-American rapper, Olubowale Victor Akintimehin professionally known as Wale has cried out for help.

Taking to his social media page, the musician said he’s “tired, drained and in pain”.

Wale pointed out that he placed his mobile phone on Do Not Disturb because all the calls coming in are from people who want some form of assistance from him.

The rapper further revealed that he resolved to sharing his problem on the platform because he couldn’t get help from his friends and family.

He wrote; “Since nobody in my circle will help me I’ll just say this on my platform .. I’m trying to get it together but I’m tired I’m drained pain is exhausting .

The Ibadan zonal office of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, arrested 32 suspects for alleged involvement in internet fraud. The suspects were apprehended when EFCC operatives raided their hideout in Ogbomoso, Oyo State after diligent analysis of series of intelligence gathered on their alleged criminal activities.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has appealed to United State’s President, Donald Trump to reconsider the restriction placed on issuance of visa to Nigeria.

The US administration announced that visa restrictions which mostly affected those seeking permanent stay in their country on Friday. Apart from Nigeria, five other countries were also affected by the visa policy.

The US had indicated that it took the policy out of security concerns.

But while expressing his sadness over the inclusion of Nigeria among the countries affected by the visa restriction, Atiku, in a post on his Facebook page Saturday morning urged the US to reconsider its stand based on the history of her relationship with the Nigerian people. According to him, Nigerians should not be made to suffer for the failures of the Buhari administration.

“While I understand the reasons given by the Trump administration (the failure of the Muhammadu Buhari led administration to share information and to address issues of terrorism), the ban does not take into account the pro-American sentiments of the Nigerian public and the solidarity previous Nigerian administrations have had with the United States,” Atiku said.

The former vice President also urged President Trump to consider the history of US-Nigerian relationships as well as ongoing contributions of Nigeria to the development of United States.

Recalling some of such relationships, Atiku said, “Nigeria was one of the few African nations that joined the US-led coalition during Operation Desert Storm between 1990-1991 when the United States championed the liberation of Kuwait.

“The Trump administration may also consider the pivotal role Nigeria, in partnership with the US, played in bringing peace to Liberia, an American sphere of influence, that now enjoys democracy because Nigerian blood and money paved the way for peace in that nation.

“Nigeria has also consistently voted in support of the United States and her allies at the United Nations and other multilateral world bodies.

US Embassy allegedly denies Bishop Oyedepo Visa

The senior pastor of Winners’ Chapel International, Bishop David Oyedepo was denied a US visa, which caused a mild drama at the United States Embassy in Lagos.

According to reports, the embassy did not give any other reason except the standard default explanation that the Bishop did not qualify for visa renewal in its assessment and urged him to try again.

Heaven was, however, let loose, when the obviously upset Bishop, created a scene whilst questioning the grounds for his refusal.

An insider said he told the embassy he had been travelling to the states as far back as the 1980s and had not violated any rules or committed any crime to have warranted being denied a renewal of his visa.

According to the source, he immediately sent for his bodyguards to get his phones so he could make some calls, but the embassy allegedly told him he could not make calls within the precincts of the visa-issuing section of the embassy.

The incident comes amid reports that Nigeria has been added to a new list of countries banned from entering the US under new administration imposed by President Donald Trump.
